Lilligant Memories are blurred and faces are obscured, but I still know the words to this song

As the mysterious man responded respectfully to Jess's inquiries, he let out a recognizable laughter that caused the woman's eyes to light up. Surely it couldn't be...?

"S-Sir Bedivere? Is it really you?"

She gawked in awe at the once-tentacled sea creature's transformation, but at the mention of Marion's name there was no mistaking it: This was the master chef of the Haunted Mini-Mansion she had met many a time before, and even introduced to his partner Nimiane - whom he was still together with by the sound of it. Was she now a human too? Jess's head swam dizzily with so many questions as she awkwardly bowed back, barely able to contain her excitement at running into an old acquaintance like this after so long.

"It's so good to see you again! How is Marion doing? I haven't heard from her in ages... And, er, Miss Cos- I mean, Minerva...?"

She tested the latter name tentatively. Last she had seen of the lady, she had lost all her memories within a year's span and reverted to her dormant doll-like state. (She supposed she shouldn't be surprised then, that other members of Marion's team were capable of similar conversion.)

Before they could continue much of the conversation though, the earth itself seemed to shake and the sky sparked, splitting at the seams. Iris and Lilac, who had been watching the exchange in confusion up to this point (the latter moreso, seeing as the former had at least encountered the infamous aforementioned Gadget once at the Park), suddenly spotted the Springtime Pyukumuku nearby as it waved its inner palm at them, before the rippling distortion roared and swallowed them all...

Lilac blinked as she found herself strangely separated from the group, standing alone in the middle of the mirelands with the seed glowing intensely in her hands, almost white-hot to the touch. As if forming a small bubble around her that slowed space-time evenly to match with her every movement. Its vibrating tip pointed her towards the pinnacle of the ridge overlooking the marsh, and determinedly she marched up the stairway, quickening her hurried pace with each step.

At the top, she came across a scene like in a dream, of the Noble nymph dancing nimbly along the ledge beneath a full moon - a green goddess bathed in silver and starlight. Next to her, a masked gentleranium followed her lead, coordinating courtship. Holding her close with bouquets of red and blue as they dipped and spun together, matching the colors on the kernel in Lilac's leaf. When the waltz came to a close, she watched as the couple walked back to a nest among the rocks and branches, where an emerald egg lay wrapped in leaves. The lady leaned down to kiss her precious treasure, softly singing the same lullaby Lila had heard so many times in her memories. Soon the pair of proud parents drifted off to slumber together, swaddling their bundle safely between them...

Just then, Lilac became aware of a flickering at her feet, and looked down to see smoldering flames licking all around. The dry peat soil had caught fire somehow, and the swamp behind her was already engulfed in a raging inferno, quickly creeping its way up towards the peak. Though she couldn't feel the heat, and the embers seemed to pass straight though her form, she could tell they were headed right for the peacefully sleeping floral family, trapping the trio within and cutting off escape route. She tried to shout out, to warn before the warmth became too much to bear, but it was as if they couldn't hear her either.

Other, more visceral screams soon joined her own. A bear's bellow in the distance, caws of frightened Murkrow as they fled the burning bog to the skies, forced to leave behind their own clutches. Even darker smoke rising beneath the black flock, spreading like a thick blanket over the mire. Desperate cries from those still stuck below amidst the blaze. Some seemed human, closer by, coming from the clearly historic rural settlement she passed on her way - a clan's communal colony that no longer existed in the present. Commanding they needed to get the fire under control and protect the Lady, others praying in a panic to "Lord Sinnoh" to deliver them from disaster. Lilac stretched out her limb, wanting to help, realizing how the story ended already. But there was another voice, calling out to her. Her name. Begging her to come home.

She knew, she couldn't stay. The place she belonged was no longer here. Her mother's last act made sure she at least would survive, along with the other children of the land she was charged with overseeing. There was nothing Lila could do at this point to change the river's course of fate. Tears in her eyes, she turned away towards the pulsing portal where the Springtime Pyukumuku waited, nodding knowingly. For it was the one who brought her directly to the Hatchery after Arceus answered her parents' pleas by sending the seedling to an alternate timeplane, leaving a note on their behalves and the herbal heirloom bequeathed with dying breath. So she breathed deep a sigh, accepting the sadness of the past but striding towards the future. To move on but not forget, remembering those roots in order to help her bloom.

...When she woke, Lilac was lying on the shore with a worried Iris hovering over her. Upon seeing her love returned to reality, the Leavanny immediately lifted her in a huge hug, kissing repeatedly with relief. Lila smiled to reassure everything was all right, tenderly reciprocating the embrace.

As Jess looked on the loving moment, she felt the weight in her arms grow warmer in turn, and glanced down to witness a rather familiar face emerge from the Egg, same yellow crescent seen on the shell marking the cub's forehead. The newborn baby bear blinked as she peered curiously around her surroundings, and as soon as Jess set the brown ball down on the beach she toddled over to Leith to try and play with the sand mound.

Meanwhile, the Egg beside Bedivere began to brighten as well, bursting open as a bright red berry tumbled out with a terrified squeak. He glanced about nervously, attempting to bury himself in the bank to hide from the humongous strangers - very much resembling his brethren from so many years ago. Lilac's heart softened as she gently approached the quivering crop, extending out to comfort and soothe as she hummed her mother's melody. Cocking to the side, the pod perked up upon hearing such a calming song, bopping bud in time to the beat.

"Chi? Chi!"

The Cherubi chirped cheerfully as he accepted to ascend to the Lilligant's shoulder, and her fiancé came forward as well, the two locking eyes as it seemed they both simultaneously shared a certain thought. Understanding where this was going, Jess went to join Bedivere in order to discuss exchange arrangements - as well as finally get a chance to catch up.

...Unbeknownst to all, two ghostly golden figures gazed down from the crest of the hill, briefly gleaming gratified beams in the sun, before fading into dust and ashes at last. A pair of petals slowly drifted down from the sky, landing unnoticed at Lilac's feet and washing away with the tide as she basked in the joy of being surrounded by close ones, ready to take the next step in forging her own family - to give shelter and sanctuary to someone as others had done, for and before her. To carry on that legacy of love by planting new seeds of hope, yet also honor ancient history and tradition (however much it hurt to recall). Just as the realm of Fizzytopia may change throughout the ages, its residents would always be resilient. Even when rife with devastation, today's chance meetings (nay, no doubt destined reunions) proved their spirits wouldn't break, and eventually rise again - whether through their own power or entrusting to posterity.

You find yourself on the beach of the island, seeing the lady and her Pokemon off in the distance. You witness the miracle of life as a small, brown bear emerges from an egg in the Lilligant's arms. Looking down, the egg you were watching over was still beneath your feet. It too, glows a brilliant white, and hatches. Bright, cherry red, for a bright, cherry lad. Congratulations, you have hatched a male Cherubi with EMs Healing Wish, Rollout, and Tickle!

"Indeed, 'tis I... in the flesh, ohohoho~" Bedivere poses, displaying that he is - quite literally - in the flesh. The excitement Jess feels seems to be shared by the former Jellicent, who beams at her recognition.

This brilliance is eclipsed with a momentary shadow in Bedivere's expression at the mention of Minerva. He takes a moment to reflect, clearly choosing his words very carefully... But before he can formulate a response, his dark, dreary contemplations are interrupted by the very essence of Spring itself - the Springtime Pyukumuku! Both metaphorically and literally, the embodiment of the Season seemed to be saying that the time to dwell on the past was over. New life was on the way, and though the Pyukumuku knew full well the cruel and unstoppable turn of the Seasons - the tragedies and deep despair which often tinged the past - the Isle's newborn babes deserved only the brightest of smiles and the warmest of welcomes.

Bedivere takes a deep breath, composing himself. The topic of Minerva would come up eventually - he knew this - but better to focus now on the brighter spots of the past few years. After all, his beloved Lady Marion had finally earned the title of Professor Marion Ghosttree, specialist in ghost-type psychology and ethics, and Bedivere never seemed to run out of breath bragging about it with loving pride to anyone who would listen. Both she and Nimiane had married their true loves: Marion wed her long-time boyfriend Duke, and Nimiane floated down the aisle with a refined female Polteageist named Lady Camellia, who she had met quite by chance on Marion and Duke's honeymoon in the Galar Region. Even if Nimiane had not chosen Bedivere as her spouse, her wedding to Lady Cam had indeed been one of the most beautiful he had ever witnessed. In truth, the gentleman had always seen Nimiane more as a beloved sister than a future bride, and she saw him as a mentor and friend. Though the pair were originally intended for one another, it simply was not meant to be... but their platonic love grew greater with each passing year, and the two would truly do anything for one another. Perhaps they were meant to be, in that way... His love for both Marion and Nimiane was unyielding, undying and true, and they would most assuredly say the same of their affections toward him.

That was Bedivere's way. Happily ever after for all whom he loved dearly... Yet, for Minerva, the fairy tale had ended with tragedy worse than death. He had been such a fool - such a Godsdamned fool - to let her convince him that her happiness was with another. Yet, it was selfish to believe anything else... And he could not - could not - allow himself to be selfish, even if...!

Sir Bedivere grits his teeth, clenching his fists. The wave of anger overcoming him crashes heavy on his mind, but the sight of the newborn bear club toddling in his direction quickly snaps him out of it.

"Good day to you -" he begins, but the little one seems more intrigued by the shadowy pile of sand at the moment. Despite Leith's intimidating glare, the Teddiursa attempts to fashion a little turret atop Leith's head, which the Sandygast, oddly, tolerates... Though she seems to be dangerously teetering on the edge of lashing out. Sensing this tension, Bedivere quickly scoops the bear up, saving Leith from possibly losing her patience. Even so, the Shadow Sandygast admires herself in a nearby pool of water, seeming... oddly disappointed when the turret quickly collapses, and she returns to her previous shape.

The Teddiursa looks up at Bedivere with loving eyes, returning his hug as only a fluffy, loveable bear could. With a warm, gentle smile, the gentleman locks eyes with this adorable baby, his heart threatening to rip open at the seams.

"Ah, what a sweetheart you are..." He says, with a tinge of sadness. "But alas, I cannot be selfish... Did the fates not arrange to bind you to the Lady Jessica?"

At the very moment Bedivere poses this question, the egg beside him hatches, and he realizes that the very Lady herself he had mentioned - plus her pair of beautiful floral Pokemon - were there to witness the birth. Though Bedivere had not himself experienced the tragic tale that Lilac had endured, the bond between her and the baby was clearly evident to all present.

Seeing this, he clings to his newfound bear companion a little bit tighter. It was selfish of him, yes... But as Jessica approaches him to make arrangements for the babies to be swapped, he sees that, perhaps, it was not selfishness at all, but the strange tangle of fate's threads that had bound these destinies together. Was it really so wrong to advocate for his own happiness?

No, not his happiness. Our happiness. He looks down at the little bear, who smiles an oddly knowing grin. A species with a particularly sensitive nose, who, with time and training, would be able to sniff out those who are lost. Those who are missing...

Those who are dearly missed.

Tropical, the island breeze...

sixdragons_in_atrenchcoat: After some discussion, Cy and Wurmple decide to leave the egg beside, as well as their discussion of the ethics of the Egg Hunt they've embarked on. From the safety of Cy's coat, Wurmple psychically surveys their snowy environs once again, searching for life. Though the bug-type's initial scan turns up nothing in the immediate vicinity, he becomes aware of a faint voice calling out - not into the icy air, mind you, but into Wurmple's mind. Its words are difficult to discern, but the voice's cadence and tone seems friendly - eager, even, to meet them.

Following this call leads the pair to a small cave, where a pale yellow egg with brown markings sits, protected from the cold. The voice abruptly stops the moment that they come across the egg, but given the strong aura emitting from it, there can be no doubt that the call came from the little one inside.

Will Cy take the egg, or move on? Keep in mind that this is your final decision, and the next egg will automatically hatch.

Jahotsafits: Even if it is not Bobert's intent to take the bobbing egg home with him, he can't help but express concern for the egg's well-being. Recruiting Puck, Shinobi, Nōka and Lumina to his cause, the Pokemon set to work ensuring that this egg is no longer helplessly floating down the river. His team returns looking triumphant, likely having successfully found the baby's original nest, returning it there safely. With their mission accomplished, they are returned to their Pokeballs, and Bobert's sailing adventure continues apace.

Further down the river, Bobert spots a particularly fluffy nest by the riverbank, woven together with various woodland bits and bobs, though the majority appears to be recently-shed, cotton-like fur. A brown and cream egg sits comfortably on its bed, resting in wait for someone to come across it. Is Bobert the one this egg is waiting for...?

Will Bobert take the egg, or move on? Keep in mind that this is your final decision, and the next egg will automatically hatch.

Ironthunder: After having to make a disorienting journey through a distortion portal, Kerry finds herself ankle-deep in mud, lacking the proper footwear to traverse it properly. Unable to take wing like her Scyther partner and her cousin's Aerodactyl, Kerry would have to seek higher ground... But with the promise of eggs ahead, and no clear way to turn back, the grounded trainer would simply have to trek onward, wellies or no.

Both Kerry's search for eggs and Liawe's search for a solid place to land end at a small, grassy patch with a couple of berry trees, sporting bright red fruits. Nestled carefully in a thick weave of branches, as if intentionally hidden there for safekeeping, one of these "berries" looks suspiciously ovoid in shape, and more of a pinkish hue than the surrounding fruits. It may look good enough to eat, but this sweet-smelling object is most certainly an egg!

Will Kerry & Liawe take the egg, or move on?

---

CyberBlastoise: Though it had been Bill's intent to investigate various ruins in Fizzyland, chasing legends often led the trainer to be the subject of a chase himself. Though the boat to Hisui promised the long-awaited, uninterrupted self-tour of impressive ancient ruins that Bill so eagerly sought, many of his fellow passengers were not trainers, and even showed a particular wariness towards Pokémon. With nowhere to run on the open ocean when aboard a sailing vessel, Bill keeps his true occupation a secret... Though a powerful storm sends both the boat - and Bill's plan to maintain secrecy - to complete ruin. Fortunately, though, even the most Pokémon-averse among the passengers are willing to accept the help of Bill's water types. Based on the scattered wrecks along the coast, in various stages of wear and decay, this was certainly not the first ship to run aground here, and likely not the last...

With the shipwrecked passengers all accounted for, Bill decides to explore what appears to be a market near the coastline. One of the stalls in particular captures Bill's attention - long abandoned, the stall had been partially enveloped in creeping vines, which now threatened to take over the stall entirely. At the corner of where there used to be a wooden counter, the vines seemed be serving as a makeshift nest of sorts. These vegetal wrappings almost completely conceal the treasure they guard, but Bill can see a bit of black shell peering out from beneath the vines. No doubt about it... There was an egg comfortably hiding in there.

Will Bill take the egg, or move on?

Connor: Connie and Victory trek up the Celestica Mountain trail with a sense of reverence - even a slight melancholy - for the land around them. By all rights, Hisui should have been claimed by the relentless passage of time, but for this brief moment, the pair would be able to experience its wonders. The preciousness of this gift was not lost on Connie, who takes a deeply mindful approach to her exploration. She keeps herself rooted to the moment, that she may remember every sensation as it happened, even once the paths through this land were once again nothing more than passages in a History book. Now, Hisui would be more than that - it would live again, for at least as long as she lived, through her memory.

As the pair make their ascent, Connie notices what appears to be some kind of egg-shaped wooden toy, nestled in a small bed of grass. Though it appears man-made at first glance, there is something... oddly lifelike about it, and the grass it sits upon is looking more and more like a makeshift nest. Perhaps this was more than just a toy...

Will Connie take the egg, or move on?

---

PippiTallsocks: Despite multiple attempts at expressing her hesitation, and "throwing self with reckless abandon through strange time distortions with no clear understanding of the short and long-term side effects on one's physical and mental health in order to investigate supernatural phenomenon" being nowhere in her job description, Lucia's mission remains unchanged by the Powers that Be. With a brief burst of anger to release some of the pressure from her frustrations, the Acquisitions Agent passes through the barrier, stalking toward the Harbor.

It doesn't take long before Lucia comes across an anomaly of interest - in the shade of the battered skeleton of an ancient shipwreck, a tangle of vines, shaped like a nest, conceals an ovoid shape. Just a bit of black shell peeks through, as if curious about its surroundings, but wholly unwilling to leave the comfort of its wrappings. It doesn't take much scientific analysis to come to the conclusion that this an egg!

Will Lucia take the egg, or move on?

---

Sneaze: Allison was anxious - and, perhaps, reasonably so - about exploring a strange, new land, impacted by mysterious and inexplicable time distortions. This anxiety was shared by Nolon the Girafarig, who is off like a shot the moment the Springtide Isle ferry docks at its destination. Allison uses every ounce of strength and control she has to keep Nolon's path forward as safe as possible, but though their choice of locale meant traversing a whole lot of mud and muck, at least the high-energy Pokémon would have free rein to explore.

Of course, as if the mud wasn't bad enough, it begins to rain in the already-swampy Delta... and not just a light drizzle, either. Perhaps the torrential downpour would be considered misfortune in the eyes of others, but Allison catches sight of an object emerging from the mud, as if the rain has coaxed it out of hiding... A light purple egg, dotted with green, which seems quite content to be thoroughly soaked in the rain... Happy, even.

Will Allison take the egg, or move on?

Bobert smiles at the majesty of nature and the resourcefulness of Pokémon and the well crafted and cozy looking nest as he continues down stream. It has been a lovely day in the marshlands and who knows what else he'll find. (either way I'm sure that he is eggcited for a new friend!)

Kerry glared up at Liawe from the sodden ground as Caeda came in to land, bringing her relatively unmuddied cousin back to earth, annoyed that she'd managed to avoid trekking through a quagmire. She needed a flier that could actually carry her, as so far Scyther hadn't done more than hover over the marsh behind her. At least Liawe didn't seem to care that she sank half an inch when she dismounted Skarmory, the Flying specialist's wellies proving a sight more useful than Kerry's mud-sodden and likely utterly destroyed trainers. "Really, Li? You had to pick the muddiest hole possible to explore?"

"It didn't look so bad from above. Not my fault you wore the wrong footwear for exploring in!"

While the girls exchanged further pleasantries, Scyther and Caeda explored the berry trees before them, shortly finding... something that wasn't a berry. A swift call from Caeda brought both trainers running over, or at least as close to a run as one can get in wellies and mud-caked footwear, and soon they were observing a small pink-purple egg. Kerry swiftly identified it as a Cherubi egg and given the locale, Liawe had little choice but to agree, and to decide that she didn't really feel it was the best fit for her. Standing back, Liawe gestured to Caeda to prepare for takeoff once more. This time, while she rode Caeda, the Skarmory swooped low and seized Kerry by the shoulders as she trudged away, spiriting the girl into the air as they took off through the distortions into fresher (and hopefully less muddy) pastures, with Scyther flitting alongside.

It went rather well till the mountain jumped out at them.

Passing through what appeared to be the rift's edge, they found themselves in a more mountainous distortion, with the floor suddenly a lot closer than they'd like and a cliff edge square in front of them. Scrawking loudly, Caeda banked sharply left and dove for ground, the changes in winds throwing the sturdy bird off her kilter, while Scyther had slightly less warning and merely managed to slow somewhat before colliding with the wall and sliding down. As Kerry rubbed her shoulders, sore from being gripped by the great talons of the bird, and Liawe dismounted, the two girls took stock of the mountainside. This... Was going to be interesting.

(ftr, passing on the egg and moving to Celestica Mountain for roll no. 2.)

blu3shift: After a fair bit of deliberation, you resolve to take the egg before you. Reaching down to pick it up, you're caught off guard when the shell begins to fracture upon your touch, slow cracks reaching across its surface before a small portion falls out, revealing a yellow eye blinking at you from within as the remainder of the Pokemon attempts to set itself free. After a bit more shaking, the remainder of the egg cracks free, bursting open to reveal a small tortoise with a sprout growing atop its head. Congratulations, you have hatched a male Turtwig.

You may post an RP to pick up your Pokemon.

Lil'twick: Opting to leave the egg behind, you continue to search about the mountain for a time, before your trek sees you traveling through a small patch of grass. You practically trip over your next find, turning to see something quite odd. An egg of solely muted red coloration covered in yellow spots of all sizes. The very fact that you didn't see this amidst a sea of green grass was as curious as the egg itself.

Do you take this egg?

Heather: Setting the egg gently back where you had found it, you decide to leave the beach behind you, instead choosing to look down a small stream in hopes of finding a location better suited for a Pokemon that tucks itself away from people by nature. And your hunch seems to have yielded fruit, another egg tucked amongst some rocks of the stream, easily missed were you not looking for something so intently.

This egg is a deep, dark green at the base, with a grey-brown coloration at its top. But these colors are not what drew your eye to it. Separating these two palettes is a singular line of white that runs fully around the center of the egg, perfectly bisecting the two color schemes.

Do you take this egg?

Zelphon: Tempted to save the egg from isolation, you ponder for a moment, before opting to leave it behind and continue further up the treacherous mountain. Your next stop finds you amidst ruins of large statues, surrounded by small broken walls and myriad pillars. Here you find an egg comfortably laying by the side of one such statue.

This egg is perhaps even more strange than the one you had just left, a soft purple in coloration in its entirety. But as you look at it, the purple seems to coalesce at its center into a deep black sphere, no matter what angle you approach the egg from.

Do you take this egg?

Gemini Spark: Pondering the strange coloration of the egg, you warn Leila about attempting to eat it, her teeth not able to successfully puncture what one would otherwise assume to be fairly easy to crack. After a moment, though, a thundering cracking sound echoes through the air, before the egg falls apart entirely from its most solid point, the very tip. The thicker than normal egg shell falls to the ground with more of a thud than anything, revealing a small canine, covered in a cloud of fur that comes to a sharp, hard point at its top, bared directly at Leila. Congratulations, you have hatched a male Hisuian Growlithe.

You may post an RP to pick up your Pokemon.

ShadowDRGN: Trudging past the previous egg without a second thought you continue through the blasts of cold air and flurries of snow as they come, wandering around the frigid wastes with practically no direction as all you can see, with or without your goggles, is an endless expanse of white. The next egg you come across is far more easily noticed than the last, however, as your foot comes crashing into it, doing a fair bit more damage to your boot than the egg itself.

Looking down, this egg is pure brown throughout, grown in less of your standard egg shape and much more rough around the edges all over. In fact, it's hard to tell if it's even an egg at all. It is an egg, right? Maybe it's just a rock.

Do you take this egg?

Elijah paused in a bent-over position as the egg that he was attempting to pick up—probably to bring it to its mother or something—began shaking. First came the bit of its shell that covered its eye. Then its sapling-adorned head, then its brown-and-black shell, then its stubby green yellow-crowned legs... there was no doubt that this was a Turtwig. Namely, a Turtwig that had seeming imprinted on Elijah.

Which meant that he was unceremoniously thrust into a position of fatherhood at the ripe age of eighteen and the maturity of thirteen.

"I'd never thought I'd see the day," Ion mused, clearly way more relaxed about the situation than Elijah, who was currently sweating bullets with an anxious expression on his face. "Can you believe that you're actually raising a bonafide Turtwig?"

The Trainer blinked. He couldn't believe it at all, forcing out a very stilted "uh, well, I'm not good at, uh, taking care of—"

"News flash! I'm half Pokédex, bro." The Rotom interrupted in their signature brash but well-meaning way. "I can help you out whenever I..."

Ion's screen went white again. Still no signal.

"...man, who's the loser that forgot to build a tower out here? It's either that or this plan is just really sketchy out here. How much are you paying for this?"

Elijah stared at Ion with a blank look on his face. The only sounds that could be heard, for a brief moment, were the leaves on the trees (and Thorn's head) being rustled by the wind and the ambient white noise of a distant waterfall.

"Oops, let my mouth run, I guess," they apologized. "Anyway, whenever we can get service again, I can run you by the care and feeding of a Turtwig. It's gotta be well documented, they hand 'em out as starters in Sinnoh all the... dang time." Ion paused at "dang," transparently making concessions in their speech for Elijah.

"...So, I guess I'm going to have to take care of her, then."

"Him, you mean."

"Okay, well I'm just going to carry this guy—" Elijah attempted to lift the Turtwig with a strained grunt. "Why is it so heavy?!"

"Turtwigs are heavy. You're supposed to put 'em in a ball. Didn't you learn that in school?"

"I was homeschooled when they were supposed to—You know what, never mind. Let's just pack up and go." He shuffled around the Poké Balls in his hands, raising up the one in his right hand. "I hate doing this, so let's get this over with."

Reluctantly, Elijah tapped the less worn of the two oddly-fashioned Poké Balls against the Turtwig's head, who then shrunk and coalesced into a beam of energy as the ball did its work. It didn't even shake; a sign of a capture so successful that the Pokémon didn't even fight back. Which was a little worrying in this context, but he opted not to share his feelings at this time. What mattered was getting out of here, a thought which prompted Elijah to turn back to Ion.

"So... which way did we come from?"

"GPS is offline. I have no idea."

Elijah sighed, picking up the two Poké Balls (one of which contained the Turtwig) and ventured in the direction that he thought that he came from, prompting the rest of his team to follow. Why did this keep happening to him?

This egg is a deep, dark green at the base, with a grey-brown coloration at its top. But these colors are not what drew your eye to it. Separating these two palettes is a singular line of white that runs fully around the center of the egg, perfectly bisecting the two color schemes.

Do you take this egg?
As Catharine was climbing the rock face near the beach, her two Pokémon were on their own searches. Isabelle, for her part, used her psychic power to feel for emotions of any nearby unhatched Pokémon, having floated out to a remote and downright eerie section of the sandy beach. However, the aura of this place was downright oppressive, as though a powerful and aggressive spirit had once made its home here. Any emotion she might have found here was drowned in the icy cold of its lingering anger, and the poor Chimecho managed barely a cursory survey of the area before becoming overwhelmed and fleeing. Even as she hurried away, she could feel a singular, burning red eye glaring right through to her spirit.

Laura, on the other hand, had flown out over the water to some of the nearby islets still caught up in the distortion. While many were either sandbars, or at least had a smattering of grass upon them, one stood out, being made entirely of rough and uneven black rock, as though it were the product of a volcano. Laura didn't have quite so keen of an eye as other birds might, so she couldn't make out if anything was on that spit of an island. However, as she descended upon it, before she could make anything out, a deep, bellowing Roar echoed through the air, and Laura realized it might not be the best idea to land there alone. Quickly, she turned back towards the mainland-once she regrouped with Catharine, perhaps they could get a boat out there together.

Catharine, for her part, found the rock wall a relatively simple climb. The rocks that had previously broken away left a good number of handholds and footholds, and so she scurried up the rock face with relative ease. Clarisse hardly needed the help, as her new large claws gave her easy purchase as she followed behind her Trainer. Soon, the pair pulled themselves up onto higher ground, coming face to face with a beautifully clear river.

"Okay Clarisse, you go left, I'll go right?" Catharine asked.

"Works for me. Holler if you find something!" Clarisse responded, before lumbering off along the waterline. Catharine walked slowly in the other direction, eyes peeled for anything hidden among the rushing water. Not long after, Isabelle returned to her, and Catharine could tell the poor Chimecho was shaking like a leaf.

"Isabelle? What happened, are you okay?" Catharine asked.

"Okay...Looked at beach, far away...but angry ghost..." Isabelle said.

"I'm glad you're safe, Isabelle. Why don't you stick with me for a while, make sure I don't miss anything in the water?" Catharine offered. Isabelle merely gave a pleasant ring of her chime in response, and the pair kept walking, until Isabelle suddenly zipped off ahead.

"Isabelle! Did you find something?" Catharine asked, as the Chimecho came to a stop over what could have easily passed for a river rock to a careless observer. But as Catharine picked it up, she realized that only the top half had that dark coloration, and it certainly did not feel like a rock! The bottom of the egg was green. A very familiar shade of green, to boot. As Catharine hurried to open her P★DA to confirm her suspicions, Laura fluttered down to meet the group.

"Catharine! There's a real tough-looking islet out in the water that I think would be a good spot, but something didn't take too kindly to my trying to get close...do you think you could hitch a boat to get out there so I don't have to go it alone?" the Farfetch'd asked.

"I don't think that'll be necessary. Unless my eyes deceive me, this has to be it right here!" Catharine said, voice filled with excitement. "That shade of green on the bottom looks just like what I'm looking for, and we did find this right next to a river! Unless I'm really missing something, this is the Egg of a variety of Basculin thought to be extinct, that evolves into Basculegion! This is an incredible discovery! Hang on a minute." Catharine said, turning around. "HEY! CLARISSE! COME HERE, I THINK WE FOUND IT!" she called. At once, the gargantuan Ursaring came running.

"That's it, you think?" Clarisse asked.

"I'm almost certain of it. I can't think of anything else that would match that shade of green AND still have that white stripe. We just have to wait for it to hatch, I think." Catharine said, holding the Egg close.

(OOC: Oh boy will I take this Egg!)

The very fact that you didn't see this amidst a sea of green grass was as curious as the egg itself.

Do you take this egg?
Ethan pondered for a bit, looking at the egg he had just tripped over. A dark red, speckled with yellow dots of varying sizes. He could feel a sense of dread coming from the Pokemon... No, this was not good. Not good in the slightest. While the first egg, he felt destined for another, this egg was pure malice. Not even the elder gods he contracted would want this ancient entity as their host. For what this egg was... was nothing he wished to unleash onto the world. Even if the modern version had relaxed considerably. This... was a completely different story.

"Mother... Not even you compare to this," he muttered. It felt weird, saying that word. He chuckled a bit, knowing the woman would detest hearing that. But, that was what he'd need to deal with eventually.

"The Yggrasil Program. Yggdrasil was the world tree in Scandian mythos," he suddenly shifted gears, looking towards the top of the mountain. It was time to climb.

"Guess that woman wished for such a thing. The way she spoke about me, I was a tool. A tool for her to summon Yog-Sothoth to this plane. She only had children to fulfill that wish, and the boy I was supposed to be was the best host. She burnt away the others... detestable isn't it?" he continued to muse, taking his steps towards the summit.

He looked at the ruins he had past many times as he made his ascent. What secrets they held, they were not for him to peruse. They were to secrets and tellings of the Celestica people. For they dealt not with the creatures he had so much needed to work with. This was their fate, to be left behind and their teachings entombed in dilapidated buildings. Stolen time, warped space. Hopes for the future are lost to the annals of history. Once more, nothing.

"I know I wasn't the first, and won't be the last, to traverse this mountain. Like how I wasn't the first one created by that woman. Designation E-10... The one hundred and ninth creation. Huh, wouldn't it be ironic if a Spiritomb of those before me manifested? One hundred and eight souls trapped together as an amalgamated legion. Yet, that creature wouldn't manifest here. But the question is, what do I seek?" he looked towards the snowy peak, that he soon would be on.

"Perhaps, whatever in the snow would be what I'm searching for. What it is, I know not. But, I can feel time fading away. This is my last chance, and I'll be stuck with what I get. Leo told me about this before I set off... Hmm, well, let's see whatever die fate casts for me gives me," he chuckled, feeling his foot crunch snow beneath him.

Striding through the cold and the damp, Lucia continues to mutter under her breath, vague threats of quitting without notice, assuring the damp air and the quiet skeletons of wharves, boats and buildings that she has other prospects, you know! Despite this running commentary, she sweeps the dreary landscape with a practiced eye, picking out landmarks and points of interest ahead, picking through promising piles of moldering wood and ramshackle stone for anything that might be interesting enough to earn her wage, but portable enough not to make a chore of absconding with it.

In the shadow of the prow of a small fishing boat, rotted through and crusted over with brine and barnacles, she squats in front of a tangled mat of vines, spotting a black, smooth surface underneath. Taking her knife, she scrapes some of the slime and algae and plant matter off and reveals the gentle curve of what must be an egg. pulling free a black, plastic lined canvas specimen bag, she carefully hoists the egg, remaining vegetation and all and places it gently into the bag, pulling the drawstring and securing it to her ruck. If Chief Ed wanted something less mundane than an egg from a bizarre space distortion she'd have to send the new girl, because Lucia had done her part. Turning away from the derelict, she heads back toward the shimmering barrier she had crossed earlier on, planning to find a hostel near the docks for a shower and a bed before heading back to the lab on the first boat off the island.

The Springtime Pyukumuku has been reported to be bouncing around New Fizz City, asking any and all trainers to help it return the island to its original state. The standard local has been warped to match the areas of Ancient Sinnoh, known then as "Hisui." Perhaps, in helping out, you'll find a new friend waiting to explore the present?

Areas:

Cobalt Harbor: The Beachfront and Harborside Market have warped together to create a more secluded area, with newly abandoned shipwrecks around the market and beach. Large mountainous area circles around the beach, and small islands and giant rocks can be seen from the harbor jutting from the waves. Various fishing boats can be seen docked here, with the market looking like something out of the past. Please reply in mediumaquamarine
"There's no way any of this is a coincidence," Silic muttered as he steered his boat closer to what should have been the Springtide Isle, but no longer was. He looked back on the printout of a report on space-time distortions that has surfaced about a month ago... from two centuries prior. That alone would've been enough to catch the young man's attention, considering the temporal cataclysm that had warped New Fizz City a few years ago, but the fact that reappeared the same time that a familiar phenomenon enveloped a popular getaway location and twisted it beyond modern recognition.

According to the report, there was a period where the Sinnoh Region, then known as Hisui, was beleaguered by a persistent rash of space-time distortions, which occasionally left pokemon previously unknown to the area behind when they faded away. The author, a researcher by the name of Laventon, supposedly worked with someone who could intuit when and where such vortices would appear and used this ability to dive in and out of them without any harm to themselves. A handy trick to be sure, but not one he had any interest in trying to replicate after having watched one shear away several years of experience from Dichromatia's life during the Primal Dialga Disaster.

He set the papers aside and refocused on the present. "We are now approaching the worksite. Current conditions appear to be stable, so we will proceed with the plan as discussed." There was no real need to be so serious over the intercom, given that the only ones hearing his announcements were his pokemon, but it felt appropriate with the inherent riskiness with this endeavor. "Remember to be careful with the equipment and to keep from straying too far from the ship- we have no idea when the market will return, and I have no interest in losing any of you to the seas of time when it does."

With any luck, the three teams would be able to gather all the data they need in a reasonable amount of time...

At one point Leila was finally looking like she had pierced the egg shell, but Hyrem took a closer look and discovered the crack had started slightly off from where she had bitten. "Hey, uh, Leila? You might want to put some distance between yourself and that egg," he gently warned his Weavile as the cracking grew louder until the entire bottom half of the egg fell out, leaving the rest of the Pokemon in Leila's arms, the four striped, furry legs of the heavy Pokemon quickly finding solid ground while the hard tip of the egg remained as part of its head, the rest of the Pokemon fairly easy to identify...

"Wait... that's a Growlithe, isn't it?" Hyrem wondered. "Looks kinda different though... could this be a regional form then!?" He quickly whipped out his Pokedex to confirm it:

Growlithe, the Scout Pokemon, Hisuian Form. Growlithe born in the Cobalt Coastlands of the Hisui region have a hard covering on their heads as a genetic response to the volcanic activity in the environment. They split off in pairs to keep watch and patrol their area, but they prefer to hunt in groups of three or four.

"Ah, so it is a Hisuian Growlithe! Careful, Leila, that point on his head looks sharp!" Leila looked pretty nervously at the spike pointed directly at her when suddenly the Growlithe looked up and started panting excitedly. "Mama~" he said before jumping full force into her, his Tackle sending her straight to the ground before he jumped on top of her and started licking all over her face. "Wh- blugh! Stop! I'm not your mom- bleck! Get off of meeee!!" Try as she might, the Weavile was unable to push the very heavy Rock Pokemon off of her, nor was she able to keep his snout away from her face. "Well, looks like you're his mom now~" chuckled Hyrem. "While you get to know him, you should think of a name while I get this Rock Ball set up for him! He's your puppy, after all~"

Leila was unable to say what she wanted to name her "puppy" due to said puppy slobbering all over her face non-stop, but a name did come to Hyrem's mind eventually:

"Well, I guess Leila's son is now officially named... Lance!"

Zone Capture! A Lv. 1 Hisuian Growlithe has joined the party!

This egg is perhaps even more strange than the one you had just left, a soft purple in coloration in its entirety. But as you look at it, the purple seems to coalesce at its center into a deep black sphere, no matter what angle you approach the egg from.

Do you take this egg?

Lulled out of her growing drudgery by the sight of ruins Marietta picks up the pace and makes her way over to a nearby statue, the sudden change in behavior catching the attention of her Honedge who floats out of the grasp of Machop and leads them over to their trainer using their hilt sash.

Upon arriving at Marietta's location the Honedge returns to being held by Machop who joins his trainer in looking perplexed at yet another egg found at the base of the statue she had run to.

Taking a moment to pat Machop on the head Marietta breaks free of her confusion over the situation and decides the egg is hella cursed saying; "Another wayward child? What strange parenting did the pokemon of this era practice?"

"Although once more we are tempted to save the abandoned we must move forward, perhaps someone at the temple may gift us insight into these odd sightings.

Recalling both of her traveling companions into their balls Marietta brings Stella out of her pokeball, mounting the Dragapult and making her way up the mountain towards the Temple on top of the mountain, leaving the egg behind.

Med-

Setting out onto the coastlands, you begin to prepare your research. You had researched Hisui, especially the professor that was there. It was time to see if the seas of time would unravel anything from the past, or at the very least give you a relic for the modern age.

Heading up the coast, you head through a craggy area. You see an ovular rock, grayish-white at the top and almost pointed. As you approach, you feel an immense warmth radiating from it, and realize it was an egg. Looking at the bottom, you see a bright red peeking out from beneath an almost curly bib of the white. Looking towards the backside of the egg, you see the bottom half is red and two black, horizontal stripes on it. Whatever this egg was, it certainly had fiery energy to it.

Do you take the egg?

Before you could react, you could see the Springtime Pyukumuku appear before you, and hands you the egg before disappearing into the encroaching storm. You blink and are soon outside of the distortion with the egg in hand. The egg then turns a bright white, and the Pokemon within hatches.

Blinking, you look at what you had gotten. Quite a large boy, and quite heavy too! Setting down the hippo calf, you see a little bit of sand leak out from its back hole, and it had the camo pattern and all! Congratulations, you have hatched a male Hippopotas with EM Revenge!

I'm a bit late here and I don't have time to RP so I'll just post to grab this Hippopotas with EM Revenge with a Pokéball (12th? out of 78). Thank you for running this!

All of nature, wild and free...

Jahosafits: Bobert continues downstream, eager to see what else he might find. As he follows the river, he comes across a particularly large berry tree, its branches weighted down with a bounty of delicious fruits. The moment the boat sails underneath the boughs of the tree, a pile of fruits fall into the boat with a crash. From the pile, a "fruit" that looks weirdly egg-shaped rolls across the bottom of the boat, landing at Bobert's feet...

The pile of fruit begins to wiggle and shake, as if something else is trying to break free. Simultaneously, the pink, ovoid object at Bobert's feet begins to glow and crack - surefire signs of a hatching egg. As the sweet-smelling eggshell shatters, a strange creature emerges from the nearby pile of fruit, with a joyous Pyuku-pyuuu... The Springtide Pyukumuku itself, here to help welcome the baby which has tumbled into Bobert's boat. The bunny-eared Pyukumuku performs a little dance of delight... This odd little wiggle somehow summons a distortion which swallows the boat, Bobert, and the hatchling, sending them all inexplicably back to the coast, in the present day. Though the wily Springtide mascot is nowhere to be found, the small berry baby remains, looking good enough to eat.

You have hatched a male Cherubi with EMs Nature Power, Sweet Scent, and Tickle!

You may reply with an RP post to pick up your Pokémon.

---

IronThunder: Deciding to leave the Cherubi egg behind, the girls and their Pokémon lift off, hoping to continue their search in a locale that's a little less muddy. No doubt, the hand of fate would place this egg with another trainer soon enough...

The group finds themselves landing by a mountainside - some members of their party landing more forcefully than others - and, upon dismounting, they don't have long to look before coming across another interesting find. Sitting rather precariously on a cliffside ledge a few feet above them is a light-purple egg, marked with purple splotches, and two, thin yellow ovals. The aura from the egg seems oddly at-ease, particularly given the dangerous placement of this egg, as if the dangers of the cliffside did not phase it...

Will Kerry & Liawe take the egg, or move on? Keep in mind that this is your final decision, and the next egg will automatically hatch.

---

PippiTallSocks: Objective accomplished! Surely, a real live Pokémon egg would make for a fascinating specimen for HQ to analyze. If the Chief didn't agree, well, that's what she gets for not sending the right specialist for the job. Having successfully obtained, secured and stored the egg specimen discovered in her travels, Lucia makes for the nearest distortion, crossing through the shimmering barrier into the present day. Aside from a bit of dampness and the scent of salty sea air clinging to her clothes, she thankfully finds herself in a similar condition as before she embarked on this strange journey. The moment she reaches the other side, however, she hears an excited Pyupyupyu!!, alerting her to the presence of a Pyukumuku wearing a bunny-ear headband... The Springtide Pyukumuku, no doubt. The famous herald of Spring eagerly bounces up and down, as if trying to call Lucia's attention to something. Simultaneously, Lucia's ruck begins to shimmy and shake... The moment Lucia investigates, the Pyukumuku vanishes just as soon as it had appeared. Soon, the sound of an eggshell cracking and the cry of a newborn Pokémon rings out from within Lucia's bag. Better get her out quick, before this little one decides to find a way to break out on her own!

Bobert looks at the little cherry man and smiles requesting that Lumina begin the prosses of sailing back to the mainland. He takes a seat and rummages in his bag for a Pokeball and offers it to the little friend who eagerly accepts his new home. Afterward, Bobert calls the cherry out to pet it for a while thinking of a name for his new companion. Eventually, he decides on Pathos.

Starting at the new sounds coming from the bag, Lucia peeks in at her specimen, only to find that instead of an egg, she now seems to have a...plant...thing.

"Uh, hello, little...friend?" she stutters to the plump little ball of weeds, then looks around, perplexed, pinning the jumping pyulumuku with a bewildered look, "damn egg grew little red shoes and opened its eyes. don't they usually like...hatch?"

Without waiting for a reply she knows won't come, she fishes in her bag for a pokeball, absentmindedly coaxes the the tangela into her new home, and continues up toward the docks.

"wonder if the spook or Marisol is into plants, maybe Edward will know..."

An egg on a cliff. A curious predicament indeed, and a mild shock that Scyther's collision hadn't dislodged it. Clearly it was confident being on the cliff face, and with the unique colorations Kerry was struggling to identify it, until Liawe scrambled around in her bag for the provided field notes to see if anyone else had found an answer. This proved unnecessary, as the impact appeared to have disturbed the egg's parent, as a long-limbed, sharp-clawed creature descended from the cliffs with an almost unnatural agility, deftly clambering down the sheer cliff face to collect the egg and scarper. The field guide identified the mysterious figure as a Sneasler, an evolution of a regional variant of Sneasel. With this egg beyond their reach, and the rifts destabilising rapidly, the girls took the path down the mountain, with Caeda and Scyther flying after them.

Stumbling down the path and through a rift border, they found themselves suddenly shin-deep in snow. After a brief glance around to check their surroundings, both girls had a similar thought, and despite no words being spoken, two snowballs were swiftly sent soaring through the air, only for Caeda and Scyther to slash them apart before they connected with the trainers. Laughing, the two girls pressed on through the falling snow, as the Skarmory kept an eye out overhead and Scyther followed Kerry more closely, who was by now recovering from the mirth of the snow fight and starting to realise that her mud-soaked trainers were now being drenched by snow. As were her socks, and feet. New footwear was definitely in order.

This is where I long to be...

Ironthunder: It seems that Springtide Isle continues to punish Kerry's choice of footwear, as her feet begin to feel the arctic chill of the snowy landscape she and her cousin now explore. Though the girls enjoyed a moment of mirth and merriment with an impromptu throwing of snowballs for their Pokémon to intercept, it was clear to them both that the lands around them were becoming increasingly unstable with growing rifts and more frequent distortions; time was running out.

Searching through fields of snow for a suitable egg, the pair suddenly hear a strange noise directly behind them - a shivering, chattering "P-p-p-pyuuuuu..." Though turning around does not reveal the identity of the voice behind them, it does seem as though someone had been digging in the snow while their backs were turned, revealing a small, light brown egg with dark brown stripes across it. The moment Kerry & Liawe catch sight of the unearthed egg, the shell shatters down the middle with an impressive crack, revealing a pig-like snout, sniffing about for new friends. The little, shaggy porcine creature doesn't have far to search, though, and stops at Kerry & Liawe's feet, looking up expectantly.

A particularly large rift tears open behind the newborn, with an eager "Pyupyu~" calling from the other side. Looks like it's time to go... But at least Kerry & Liawe won't be leaving without a new friend!

Trainers may choose to explore one of the above areas for an egg. You can explore up to three times, and either opt to stay in the same area or move to a different one Each egg encounter will be surmised by one update. You may either post that you are keeping or passing on the egg in your reply. Once you are on your third exploration, you are locked into the egg that you find.

This event will last until May 1st, 11:59 PM GMT

Drake had heard of the massive upsurge of these "new" eggs hatching within the Springtide Isle, the pokemon within them being vastly different sometimes, and other times certain pokemon hatching out of them evolving into entirely new forms of said pokemon.

What a perfect place for him to explore. After all, he was looking for pokemon DNA to collect and study with his siblings so they could reintroduce Pokémon back into his homeworld. What better way to gather more data than to go to such an event.
Drake even heard that there happened to be reportings of Growlithe evolving into new forms from eggs that have been found within this very harbor he stood upon.

Fresh sea air to his back and craggy mountains to his front. It smelt and looked amazing... in fact the scenery reminded Drake of home. Which wasn't lost upon his partner who stood tall next to him.

Well, time to start searching for the eggs.

Determined to research the distortions, as well as a potentially new species of Growlithe, you step out from the port. The foray into the rolling hills before you is quickly sidetracked, the smell of sickly sweet honey hitting your nose. You and your Pokemon quickly follow the scent, hoping an egg would be at the end of the tunnel.

You soon find yourself standing beneath a berry tree, it towering toward the sky. An almost... buzzing noise hits your ears, and you quickly spot an egg nestled underneath the tree. Pure yellow, you notice the color broken up by a black hexagonal pattern on the egg. Nothing out of the ordinary on this one... but the scent of honey.

Do you take the egg?

Drake approached the egg with Wolfe, and upon seeing it, knew exactly what pokemon lay within. Combee. Queenie would both love a Combee friend but also might boss the poor thing around. Then if it was female, Drake would never hear the end of it from Queenie and would have to separate the two constantly. It was best to leave this egg here for others, perhaps even its own kind to care for.

Drake looked at Wolfe and nodded, it was time to venture further into the Cobalt Habor.
As they walked Wolfe pondered what the other species of Arcanine would look like, his partner had shared with him rumors that long ago in this land, Majestic Arcanine roamed with rock manes and guarded over land not unto similar to this one. But as to why these variants no longer exist... Drake wasn't sure.

Regardless Wolfe started sniffing the air in hopes of searching further.

Passing on the egg, you feel the call on the sea and head down to the coast. There, you see a teal egg nestled against the shore, and footprints surrounding it. You're greeted with a bold, teal body, with dark blue, parallel lines on each side of the bottom of the egg. There was then a singular black line that ran across the egg in a weird pattern as if it was to separate gun from barrel. Seems someone had already passed on this egg, and you could as well. Though... you had a feeling this was your final decision, and you may be stuck with your next egg.

Somebody already found this little baby here, Drake thought. The footprints around the egg told him that there was at least one person who also came hiking through this path. Wolfe sniffed the egg and wrinkled his nose and sneezed out the sea salt of his nose. This egg was put here but it was for sure a sea-dwelling Pokémon. Smelt like Remoraid, Wolfe thought to his partner.

Drake took out his Pokedex and scanned it, indeed the readings and pattern from the egg correlated to Remoraid. While a new aquatic friend would be right up Celyn's alley, Drake came here alone because Celyn showed no interest in coming. Whatever Egg Drake ended up finding here next... It was going to be his in the long run. He would take care of it and raise it on his team. Somewhere along the line he will be able to study the pokemon of old one way or another.

And with that train of thought, the duo pat the egg gently and decided to move on.
