Just letting people know Okiku has messaged me saying that she has been watching the thread, but isn't available until next weekend to make a post in response to the discussion.

Auras are kind of tricky to me. The rule of cool dictates that it absolutely should be re-implemented, but I feel like they should either be purely cosmetic and have no effect on FB itself outside of flavor like most of what's being sold inside the Boutique or have a requirement a little more stringent than maxing out your bond so that it doesn't break everything, even if breaking everything is pretty much a given for most people at this point, as well as it being accessible to Pokémon that might not exactly enjoy their trainer's company. I'm not sure what that requirement would be however—possibly something per person so that it doesn't get in the way of anyone's plans.

Disabilities are also a very touchy subject for a different reason. On paper I'm all for it; it opens up a lot more characterization possibilities. The issue here is more of a "write what you know" thing; there's a non-zero chance that someone will, most likely unintentionally, write one in a way that could be seen as offensive. Obviously I don't think anyone currently in FB is at risk of this but I do recommend that some sort of contingency is strongly considered just in case something does happen and it needs to be acted upon.

Drawing sprites/art for FC is a neat idea. I'd also try to put something in place for situations where multiple people end up working on the same request, as unlikely as that is considering how few of us actively illustrate things anymore. Someone might feel cheated out of their hard-earned Staff Fun Bucks™ if it's a first-come, first serve type activity.

Again I just think proportional size changes should be free without any extra strings attached. Trying to be game-accurate would be an exercise in everyone's patience because there doesn't seem to be an easily accessible resource for each Pokémon's height range beyond poking through the game's data. I'm going to reiterate that the current limits should be kept for obvious reasons but everything else should be fine as is.

Well I usually don't have much helpful to say, and I probably still don't, but let's give it a shot because this shop is probably the one I have the most attachment to:
Size! We live in a world where Totems, Titans, and Alphas all naturally occur. I don't think we should need to justify this kind of thing anymore, to be perfectly honest. I'd be fine if the limits stayed as they were, but I'd fully support an expansion of their range as well. And with proportions I again just don't see a problem; What, inherently, is wrong with someone wanting a Rampardos that's two feet wide? I think it's more amusing than anything.

Disability! Ough. I share Blu3's concerns, especially as the kind of person who writes myself into a corner enough without having to deal with things like misrepresentation or accidental ignorance. But much as I hesitate and go back-and-forth, I know that this is the kind of enormous step forward that - despite the bevy of sharp stones waiting for us when we take that step - is sure to permanently improve the Fizzy Bubbles experience. There's a lot of care that has to be taken and wrinkles to work out, but if anyone can do it it's y'all.

Auras?...nah I'm staying out of this one. I have no horse in this race and honestly no idea what to do with the whole concept.

I really like the idea of being able to do some art or sprites or whatever for reward in fb so allowing regular members to take requests for stuff would be really neat. Like little liscesnsed storefronts or whatever. Idk. Seems fun.

Apologies for not answering stuff as quickly as usual! (And thank you Lit for giving everyone a heads up of my predicament =3= )

Sizing
Happy to hear my idea of making the regular sizing free, with the sizing "system" being kept as is! I would actually step it up a notch and say it can work just like the "gen color variants": you don't need to register them in the Boutique, you can just change it however you want at your own leasure.

Combining services
I don't mind combining a few Pokémon specific things like Furfrou and Mimikyu, if it's to simplify things for readability! It's more of a post size and reformatting, which I don't mind.

Auras
I'm all for them, but I also have no clue how to tackle them ^^; Bond requirement, LP, small adventure usage? Bring it on! Although I'm not sure about you guys, but I find that auras doesn't quite fit the Boutique, other than the cosmetic part, especially if we're adding functionality to them? Maybe it's just me. However it is implemented though, I'm all for it!

Sprite Artists
While I don't mind doing the work myself, I'm fully open for that! Admittedly while I consider myself pretty good, making some sprites from scratch can be a bit difficult for me, and I know some peeps would be open to do that! My question is: How do we work that in? Should they be considered as SOs of sorts? Should the person making the request ask who they want to do the sprites, or it's a "first reply first making the sprite/gets the FC"? I would lean towards having the requester ask who they want to commission the sprites, and if they don't specify anyone, it's whoever replies to them first.

As for art that's besides Pokémon, Pokédex, Z-ring and co that are being rewarded in exchange, technically it has already happened in the past! (I made the Black Lotus Scarf, Eau De Bellossom, a Gengar trophy...) so I wouldn't mind to add that to the post to make things more clear and official that anything sprites can be done!

But I've got a bold idea here, leaning on Lilblue's idea of making a sprite request Discord channel: How about making everything sprites into a separate shop? Part so spritework is not longer "linked" exclusively to Boutique stuff, part so we can make it function more clearly with the various artists (could work in a way that while there's "official" artists, it's possible to have anyone can do spritework for FC as long as both the artist and the requester confirms, a bit like the Trade Center), part so those not in the Discord can stay in the loop and the FC claims can be tracked more properly? That said the Boutique isn't a big busy shop anyways so perhaps it wouldn't be as chaotic as I think it would be.

Pokémon disabilities
I agree that while it is technically a Boutique point (it was "spawned" on the point of scars, and some disabilities can be seen via their body or accessories), this is a subject that doesn't belong there, and disallowing them is ableist and restricts on what should be the core of FB: creative freedom. If trainers can be disabled, why not Pokémon? I believe it should be something that can be decided on the person themselves, just like a person decides on a Pokémon's personality. The only downside I see of this is the fact that it can be used in a way that can insult those with those disabilities (as blu3 mentioned; I salute you o7), but I guess that's what mods are for?

Contest items
Removing them? No problemo. They were there mostly as a reminder that we don't sell them, but at this point I think it's no longer needed.

Use of the Boutique
I mean, in general anything from the Boutique shouldn't be useful in terms of the mechanics of pokémon battles (to not make things OP and keep as much as possible close to the games), so I just see the Boutique as something to add more flavor XP

Just posting here ot keep the discussion going, but I pretty much agree with everything Okiku has said. Would like to have a rewritten shop OP sent to us, so we can start getting moving on other places.

Apologies for the delay! Got the mods' thumbs up, so here's the proposed new and improved Boutique first post! (If there's any formatting issues, I'll fix them when it'll be officially replacing the first post; big text is a pain to edit on mobile)

Mew ŕ la Mode Boutique

Spoiler: show
In a suburb town near New Fizz City, in a busy shopping district, lies a gargantuan yet quaint-looking shop. Its design is definitely taken from Kalosian architecture, complete with the stylish light pink wooden sign hanging on the wall with "Mew ŕ la Mode Boutique" carved in, and the white and blue-striped awnings shading over the front. As you pull open the door, it hits the cute bell hanging from the ceiling, announcing your arrival over the sound of the soft, smooth jazz music playing through the facility's speakers. When you walk inside, the boutique's impressive capacity is more understood, as it is adapted to welcome Pokémon of any size so they can freely shop through the aisles of clothing, dyes, changing rooms, trimming stations and other specialized departments.

“Bonjour!” a young woman greets you with a warm smile while subtly sliding her Switch behind her counter. “Bienvenue to Mew ŕ la Mode Boutique, where uniqueness and style truly shines! whether it is through accessories, dyes, or some other little je-ne-sais-quoi, we guarantee to transform your Pokémon just as one-of-a-kind on the outside than they already are on the inside! We also offer special services, including, item customization to fit them with your own personal touch, and spriting to capture your Pokémon's or your items' new look!

“Oh 'scuse-moi,” she chuckled to herself softly while offering her hand to shake, “I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Mélina Loiseau, owner of this boutique! Now then, where shall we begin our tour?”

Pokémon-Related Services

Special Characteristics Registration

Spoiler: show
We all know that all our Pokémon are unique, whenever in obvious, subtle or unusual ways. As the main attraction of our shop, we are able to officially keep on record some physical aspects your partners may have!

Some aspects of Pokémon can be different from the usual: coloring, birthmarks, scars, and unusual height and weight... all should be registered here!

General Special Characteristic Rules:
(Applies to all Special Characteristics)
  • All special characteristics require a justification/origin related to it. No need for an essay – just a short summary will do! It's not just a paperwork thing - we love to hear the stories!
  • You can put as many characteristics as you want at any time (ex.: Add one scar then add a different one later), as long as it does not overwrite an already registered characteristic (ex.: After setting an altered height/size, you cannot set a new one after; after choosing colors, you cannot set new colors)
    • If you want to replace a characteristic, you need to use a Natural Spray to remove the old one before adding the new one. (See information on the Natural Spray below for details.)
  • By default, none of the special characteristics, including weight/height, does not give anyadvantage or disadvantage to the Pokémon. (All moves and actions are considered as if done by an unmodified Pokémon.)
    • That said, it is at the updator's discretion to choose otherwise, but this should be considered as the exception and not the norm.
  • Trading does not get rid of any of the special characteristics.
    • Note however that when an altered Pokémon is given for adoption, it loses all of its special characteristics. As unusual Pokémon are more difficult to be adopted, we have the pleasure to help the Adoption Center by sending them constant donations of Natural Sprays!
  • If, for any reason, your Special Characteristic request has been denied, you will not be charged.

Available Special Characteristics and related rules:
Coloring ($100): Color(s) of the fur, skin, scales, feathers, etc. that varies from the normal colors. We are the only place in the world able to register this particular and unusual trait, so it's no surprise it is the most popular characteristic to register!
  • If the coloring matches the colors represented in sprites or official art from older games/generations, there is no need to pay for coloring nor for registering here!
  • Colored Pokémon that look too similar to their shiny form are not allowed, therefore any request to register such a coloring will be denied.
    • As colors and whatnot can be subjective, the decision of denying or accepting colors in terms of the shiny coloring can be reversed, if the original judgment/decision has been proven incorrect.
Birthmarks ($50): Includes freckles, spots, and stripes.
Scars ($50): Includes scratches, burns and other lasting marks made by injuries. Life as a Pokémon can be really rough. It is no surprise to see a scar here and there.
  • While Pokémon are allowed to have handicaps, please mind the forums’ and FB rules on respect and discrimination; RP those Pokémon in a respectful manner that would not offend those with those handicaps.
Disproportionate Size ($100): Height and weight that differ from the average of its species and from each other. I mean, Pokémon comes in all shapes and sizes between species, but also within the same species!
  • All new height and weight must be registered as a multiplier or a percentage compared to the Pokédex sizes. (No feet/inches, no meters, no kilograms, no pounds, etc.)
  • The height and weight of a Pokémon has to be, inclusively, between a third (0.33x or 33%) of its average Pokédex size and double (2x or 200%) of its average Pokédex size.
    • If the proportions of the height and weight are exactly the same (and follows the above limits), the Pokémon’s size is not considered as disproportionate, is free of charge and does not require registration!
  • If a sizing is judged to be too exaggerated, unbelievable or unhealthy for the Pokémon's species, the resize request can be denied.
    • If the decision of the acceptance or denial of the resizing is later deemed unfair or incorrect, it can be reversed.
Auras (Unavailable): A special glow that surrounds a Pokémon. The accessibility and purpose of auras are still in discussion, so please stand by for more info!

Species-Specific Services

Some Pokémon species just have this little something extra which we are able to make them shine brighter!

Furfrou Hair Trimming: Own a Furfrou and tired of its natural fur coat? With $100, we can fix that by trimming its fur into one of the magnificent styles that are all the rage! Best of all, our groomers are so talented, their trims can withstand the test of time – it stays there permanently! The Poodle Pokémon's hair is so thick and fluffy. It's no wonder it is the number 1 Pokémon for fashionistas, celebrities, and even royalty!

Available trims:
Spoiler: show
Dandy, Debutante, Diamond, Heart, Kabuki, La Reine, Matron, Pharaoh, Star
[/INDENT]
Want your pooch to have its casual, natural coat back? No problem! For $50, we can undo its special trim.

Pikachu & Eevee Hairstyles: Giving a little extra flair to your Pikachu or Eevee is easy, and only for $50! We can give your mouse or evolution Pokémon the following hairstyles:

Spoiler: show
Spiky (Pikachu) (Eevee), Cowlick (Pikachu) (Eevee), Pouf (Pikachu) (Eevee), Swoosh (Pikachu) (Eevee), Blunt Bangs (Pikachu) (Eevee), Faux Hawk (Pikachu) (Eevee), Curly Bangs (Pikachu) (Eevee), Afro (Pikachu) (Eevee)

If you changed your mind and want to go back au naturel, we can remove a Pikachu's or Eevee's special hairstyle for $10.

Mimikyu Alternate Costumes: Does your Mimikyu want a costume other than a Pikachu's? We'll help them by providing the materials and sharing expert sewing advice, all at the low cost of $100! Mimikyu is very well known to wear a homemade Pikachu costume in the hopes of sharing some of the bright spotlight the electric Pokémon has. However, we are aware that Mimikyu can be envious of another Pokémon's popularity... and we're here to help them!

A few rules and notes applies:
  • The costume can be based on any Pokémon.
  • The costume's shape has to be as close as possible as the shape of the original Mimikyu Pikachu costume.
  • As Mimikyu's costume is very important, we require to know the reason why they want their costume changed. (In other words, we need justification/origin, similar for special characteristics.)
If your Mimikyu wants their Pikachu costume again, we will gladly refit them with a brand new one for $50.

Natural Spray

Spoiler: show
Tired of the permanent dye your Pokémon got on its fur a while ago? Your Pokémon's emotional scars have healed and wants its physical ones to heal along with them? Or perhaps you received a coveted Pokémon but came out of the trading machine... not quite in the way you expected to have it? Why should we be forced of keeping a certain style, when we have the technology to change it?

For just $150, you can purchase and use our Natural Spray, which removes any (of your choice) or all recoloring and special characteristics on a single Pokémon, in which you can then replace the removed modifications with new ones afterwards.

Just make sure you use it here so we can take note of your Pokémon's changes. (We also want to make sure you use the Natural Spray correctly, so you don't hurt your Pokémon by accident!)

  • All non-official accessories cannot be used as an advantage in adventures, battles or contests; they should be for decorative purposes only.

Custom-Designed Pokédex

Spoiler: show
Ah, the good ol' Pokédex: The passport of every Pokémon Trainer in the world. In the past, the only differences between different Pokédex were the model depending on the region you're from and, on rare occasions, a different color depending on your gender. But we're able to change all that!

For $25, we can transfer the data of your current Pokédex into a brand new, basic red Pokédex from any region (including regions from spin-off games) of your choice!

We can also custom design your Pokédex, for a fee of $50. Just say what color/design you want, and we'll take care of the rest!

Need another, separate Pokédex for some reason? No problem! You can buy a new one for $100. It includes both the choice of Pokédex type and the custom design, so make it in any way you like! As for copying your first Pokédex's data into your new one, that'll be at your discretion.

Custom-Designed Power Trainer Accessories

Spoiler: show
Obviously, most trainers want their Pokémon to be the very best like no Pokémon ever was, and items that trigger special transformations and moves are ways to go. They need to be easily and quickly accessible by both trainers and Pokémon. What better way to do so by turning them into a wonderful and fashionable accessories?

For $250 each, we offer the following Mega and Z-products and services:
  • Trainer Accessories (Key Stone, Z-Ring, Dynamax Band, Tera Orb):
    • Refit/customization (Change the look of your accessory, or set it on something new!)
    • New accessory (If ever you need more than one! Customization is also included in the purchase.)
  • Mega Stone accessories for Pokémon (Note: While the type of accessories follows the same rules as them, no need to buy an unofficial accessory for this, as the accessory itself is included! The Mega Stone is not included though.)

Custom-Designed Pokéballs

Spoiler: show
The bread and butter of every Pokémon owner, they are never seen without one. It is true they are already available in various designs, but they are restricted by their model's capacities. Variety is the spice of life though, which is why we have done our best to release our latest innovation: Pokéball customisation!

To change a Pokémon's round pocket-sized home, give it to us (preferably temporarily without its resident, for security measures) along with a payment of $250 and a description on its new look!
  • Mentioning the Pokéball type/model is required on request.
  • The customized Pokéball has to be used; that is, a Pokémon is currently residing in it. In other words, you can't customize a Pokéball that hasn't been used/in inventory.
  • You can't change your customized Pokéball to look similar to an existing Pokéball, either from canon (games including spinoffs, anime, TCG, etc; see Bulbapedia's page on Pokéballs) or from Fizzy Bubbles' list here).
    • Only exception is if the customisation has kept part(s) of the design of the Pokéball it originated.
    • Due to the exception above, mentioning the original Pokéball type/model is required on each request.
  • The customized Pokéball will be linked to the Pokémon, therefore will be transferred when trading.
  • You can customize a specific Pokéball as many times as you want, but you have to pay the fee each time.

Art Requests

Spoiler: show
As the unofficial shop representative of creativity, we offer a répertoire of artists to which you can request special art commissions. Whenever it is to commemorate a special event with a piece, or just want to show off your and/or your Pokémon’s new looks with a portrait, we are at your service!

For anything you want, whenever it is for a Pokémon, a new custom item, your trainer self, or anything else you can imagine, for $100 per subject (Pokémon/item/trainer) you can request us to create a small sprite or other piece of art for it! If you have a specific artstyle in mind or just want to support someone specifically (as every artist is paid 1 FC per sprite/art!), you can file your commission to a specific artist!

[COLOR=pink][U]Available Artists:[SIZE=4]
  • OkikuMew: Sprite recoloring, sprite editing/creating (limited skills), image recoloring

Due to the unusual nature and work needed of this service, special rules are applied:[*]Sprites/art have to be requested; Not requesting one will not get you one by default. Seems obvious, but our lawyers ask us to remind you, just in case![*]If no artist is specified on a sprite/art request, I (OkikuMew) will be the artist by default.[*]A member can only request 4 sprites every 30 days. Art takes time! You can't rush art![*]Due to various reasons (time constraints, changes not visible on sprites, sprite too complex, etc) it is possible a sprite/art cannot be created by the artist. Whenever it is the case, the artist will notify you, and you will have the choice of either not being charged/paid back, or choose a different artist that can fulfill the request instead.
  • There may be cases where only a partial sprite/art can be created by the artist. (For example, when a sprite of a Pokémon with special characteristics can be made, but their accessory(ies) couldn't make it into the sprite.) Whenever it is the case, you will be contacted (via PM/VM/Discord/Skype) to warn you about it and to let you decide if you want to proceed with your request or not.
[*]Due to time restraints, creating and giving the sprite/art may be delayed. Again, if it's the case, the artist will tell you, and we will let you know (via PM/VM/Discord/Skype) when those sprites will be made and edited in the confirmation post!
  • Please, do not request someone else do the sprite/art when its creation is delayed.
[/LIST][/CENTER]

Notes:
  • Basic, non-modified "humpy" Pokémon sprites are here. (add "pn###.gif" where ### is the Pokémon's Pokédex number)
  • Basic Pokédex sprites are here (add "Xdex.gif" where X is the Pokédex's region)

Boutique Zone Rewards: General Rules

As a reward for an adventure in a zone, it is possible to get a specific but free use of a service or an item from the Boutique.

All rules above concerning those services and items are still applied. However, there is rules that applies only for zone rewards, and some existing rules are relaxed specifically for zone rewards:
  • Your updator has to clearly state that the Boutique-related reward is given and that it has to be registered/picked up in the Boutique. Otherwise, it's Boutique business as usual.
    • Please make sure you specify in your post that it is a zone reward registration/pickup; Otherwise a normal request will be assumed.
  • While registration/collect of a Boutique-related zone reward is free, (I mean, it's a reward, jeez) spriting fees are still applied if requested.
  • When registering zone-acquired special characteristics, the justification/origin needs to be a detailed but abridged version of where/how the special characteristic was acquired in the adventure. A link to said adventure is not required, but highly recommended.
  • If a zone-acquired special characteristic should overwrite an existing one, the Natural Spray to remove only the existing, overwritten special characteristic will be free.
  • As zone-adventuring often gets you in unusual places and situations, some Boutique rules concerning special characteristics can be more flexible, depending on how fitting it is to the scenario of the adventure:
    • Size: The Pokémon's proportions can go beyond the minimum/maximum limits (so smaller than 33% or bigger than 200%), and more leeway can be given for different weight/height proportions.

FAQ
Spoiler: show
My Pokémon is really, really special-looking. I have a hard time figuring out what would fit in which special characteristics so I get the prices right. Is there a trick?
Wow, your Pokémon must be quite the unique fellow if you don't know which detail would fit in which characteristic! Well you can simply contact me through your favorite contact thingy (not posting in the thread) and describe to me what you want to do, and I'll help you get an estimate! Just make sure you still write your justification/story behind the characteristics!

Does special characteristics carry over after my Pokémon changes form (evolution, Mega Evolution, Dynamax, Pokémon-specific forms, etc)?
Unless you specify that they don't (either the form have the normal species' characteristics, or have special characteristics different from normal and the previous special characteristics), yes they do!
Sidenote: If you do specify that a special characteristic changes does not carry over the different form(s) (ex.: one form has a one coloring and the other form has another coloring), this counts as the "same" characteristic, therefore only needs one registration/payment!

I just got a Boutique Zone Reward that gives a special characteristic! I do love it, but I got an idea that the same special characteristic changes after changing form. What do I do?
You would think this would fit in the sidenote mentioned in the previous question, but sadly it does not. Unless the reward includes a specification the different form(s) have a different special characteristic, the reward's special characteristic will carry over all the forms. That doesn't mean you can't do your idea though! When you pick up your (free) reward, you can also purchase a Natural Spray and register a tweaked special characteristic to include the change on that other form!

I'm in a bit of an awkward situation: it has just been discovered the species of my Pokémon with special characteristics has a new form they can change into! Do you know what will happen whenever he turns into that new form?
I'm no Pokémon Professor, but I am an expert in special characteristics! In general, it'll follow the answer of the previous question: Your Pokémon's special coloring will carry over! However, if you discover that your Pokémon in their new form doesn't carry over their special characteristics in any way, please quote your Pokémon's characteristic registration and state the differences of that new form to register it.

What’s up with “If the coloring matches the colors represented in sprites or official art from older games/generations, there is no need to pay for coloring nor for registering here”? What does it mean?
If the characteristics (ex.: colors, fur patterns, etc) of your Pokémon matches those of the (non-shiny) sprites/models from any Pokémon game/generation, you don't need to register here! You could say they're all simply official color variants of the same species. To make things clear, here's some examples:
  • Vaporeon, in recent generations, has generally a light blue color. However, Gen 3 Vaporeon are more of a cyan color, and in Gen 2 they have a dark pastel blue hue. All these are official color variants. Therefore, a Vaporeon in Fizzy Bubbles can be of any of these colors, without the need to register here.
  • From Gen 1 to 7, Eevee had no physical differences between female and male. However, the Let's Go series introduced female Eevee with a heart-shaped tail tip pattern. Due to this, a female Eevee's tail in Fizzy Bubbles can have either the normal jagged pattern or the heart-shaped pattern.
If you're still not sure if you need to register your Pokémon's characteristic(s) or not, feel free to ask me for clarifications!

I'm a bit worried about my color registration being denied for being too close to a shiny. Any pointers?
Aw, no need to worry about it that much! Just do what you wanna do, and if I turn it down, I can tell you how you can make it right! But if you really want to know, here's some tips:
  • Just look over at the shiny form sprites in the Pokédex source of your choice (Bulbapedia, Serebii, etc). Does the coloring of your Pokémon look like that? No? Then you're likely safe! If it does or you’re not sure... well, let's look over the specifics below.
  • Does that shiny form already look like the normal one? That frustrates me too... Well you don't have to worry much, because it would be very very silly to be denied for looking like a shiny when the normal form already does...!
  • Is it just a small part of your Pokémon that looks like a shiny's? If that's the case, you're likely ok! If it's a pretty big part (or main part) of the Pokémon though... be careful with that.
  • Your Pokémon shares the same colors as a shiny... but said "shiny colors" are placed on different parts of the body compared to an actual shiny? Oh you're definitely safe!
  • Your Pokémon has the same color as a shiny, but not the same shade? Eeeeeeeh now we're getting on the suggestive side of things. I say that if the shade of your Pokémon is noticeably different than the shiny's (like, your Pokémon is light pink when its species' shiny form is dark pink), then it'll pass. If the difference is not very big... your registration will likely be turned down.

My Pokémon has freckles/spots/stripes. Do I have to pay for each freckle/spot/stripe?
Whoa, no! That would be totally unfair to you, especially if your Pokémon has a gazillion of them. Just pay once for each kind of birthmark (once for freckles, again for stripes, etc.) If you registered, say, freckles on one part of your Pokémon's body and later (ie another post) add more freckles on a different part of the body though, well unfortunately you'll have to pay the characteristics registration fees again.

I'm confused about the “disproportionate sizing”. Can you explain it to me in detail?
Of course! As you may know, Pokémon, even within their species, comes in different sizes! While each species has an average height and weight, an individual Pokémon’s own height and weight can differ from it.

Since the varied size differences in the games are a bit complicated to follow and calculate, in Fizzy Bubbles we simplified it to proportions: a Pokémon’s height and weight can be between a third of the average species’ and double of the average species’, inclusively. You get to decide this, and you don’t need to register this here (and it’s free!) Think of it similar to the gen-based color variants.

However, it is possible that due to some special circumstances, your Pokémon’s proportions of weight and height could be different from each other. One could be average in one but not the other. One could be smaller on average but the other bigger than average. Could be even that both are either smaller or bigger than average, but not exactly the same amount. In all those cases, the proportions are considered disproportionate, and it is in those cases where registration (and payment) is required.

Now I'm worried that the disproportionate sizing I want to register is too unbelievable for my Pokémon. What should I do to make sure it doesn't get denied?
Awwww, we went through the same thing with the colors! Don't worry about it much, if your request is denied, I'll be telling you why and how to change things to make it pass! But ok ok, I'll tell you some ideas on how to make sure you get a green light on your first try:
  • Your Pokémon can be either bigger or smaller, but wouldn't it be a bit strange and worrisome if a Pokémon that's already very small gets even smaller, or that a huge Pokémon gets even more gargantuesque? Yup, you guessed it, it's two ways to get turned down in terms of sizing. So keep in mind the general size of the species of your Pokémon, and try not to go too far in the side that it is already in!
  • Although it is possible for your Pokémon to be taller yet weighing less than normal, or to be smaller yet weighing more than normal, but as a general rule of thumb, be careful around going in opposite "directions" with the height and weight. We take seriously the health of the Pokémon that come here, and that includes their BMI!
  • If your Pokémon happens to have a "real world" counterpart and you are trying to match it in terms of size... then that goes into your favor, especially if you tell me in your explanation of the sizing!
I already have a custom Pokédex/key stone accessory/Z-accessory, but the style doesn't really fit me anymore. Can I customize it again?
Of course! You'll have to pay for the customization fee again, unfortunately.

With my Pokémon, do I have to pay for their accessories and special characteristics for every evolution?
Nope! I mean, you're not buying two or three of the same accessory, nor are registering the same Pokémon's characteristics more than once! The only thing you'll need to pay for every evolution though is the sprites (as requested).

I want a custom accessory that holds both my Key Stone and my Z-Crystals! What shall I do?
Well, since the Z-Power Ring in the games already can hold both Z-Crystals and a Key Stone, just customize your Z-Power Ring into whatever you want, and you're good to go with your Key Stone! (And if you're buying a new Z-Accessory, it automatically supports and includes a Key Stone.)

Shoot, I bought myself a new Z-Power Ring, but now I want two separate accessories for my Key Stone and my Z-Crystals. What now?
Just buy a new Key Stone accessory!

Other than the broken BBCode in the Art Requests section and at the bit with furfrou, looks good.

Considering the mods have already approved for this to go live and the discussion has stalled, we're going to be calling the discussion here before it stalls even harder. New shop will be posted soon.

Hey guys it's everyone's favorite BIRD SHOP SO here. I've been working on redoing the Cram for a long while, and it's finally up for discussion for the community! So, we know that the Cram shop has had a bit of a tumultuous history, and that part of its functions has been ignored. So, I've worked on the shop a lot behind the scenes and have completely overhauled things in terms of the crafting portion of the shop. So, here are a few things that I am proposing for it.

First:
The introduction of crafting materials in the game. These are meant to be given out in multitudes throughout adventures, available in bundles at the department store, and as possible rewards, you can get through staff rewards. Of course, this will affect a lot of things, so that part will need to get other mod approval first.

Second:
Expanded crafting list. I have toiled to make a lot of things accessible using these new PLA materials, as well as items already existing in the game. This should allow you to see an alternate route to custom items and other items, especially those not available through other means at this time. Things such as Plushies and so forth are included in the lists, which I'll include in the post.

Third:
Changing of the gacha. I have retooled the rates and moved items around. Materials will account for 40%, Basic Goods at 25%, Non-Custom Move Learning Items at 15%, Luxury Goods at 10%, Custom Goods at 7%, and Collector's Goods at 3%. While I still would like to keep the lists themselves more closed off to keep the surprise, a lot of things were moved down or around to have bigger pools.

Additionally, I would like to discuss a few things for the gacha. While usually, we had a 4 to 4 that changed to a 5 to 4, I want to see where the community is with this. The gacha part is meant to be more to recycle unwanted items with a chance at something new. One of my proposals is to make it so Materials can't be recycled into the cram, but any other item, regardless of source, can. Note, this means items solely used to craft other items, not items that may be used in recipes even if not a specific crafting material. Some materials are items with other effects, but that only applies to a small grouping.

Furthermore, I want to see if the community is more comfortable with a 4 Items in for 3 items out with no guarantee, or 5 Items in for 4 items out with a guarantee. While I would say we can also make it paid, loosening the restrictions on the items still allows you to "pay" for it without just dropping direct money.

Anyways, here are what I'll be considered as materials for the purpose of the shop, which includes the new crafting mats. Following this list will be the new recipe list.

THIS IS OUTLANDISH WHERE IS THE ARCANINE PLUSHIES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Now that I am done frothing at the mouth here, I'd like to say as a moderator and a community member. I 100% approve of all except the part where we go from a 5 to 4 to like a 4 to 3 ( If I understand it correctly ) I understand that its up to chance but I'd prefer to have it stay OR at the very least if you do more than the = to = ratio you could have some of that thrown to juice up your chances for the higher rarer pools.

Otherwise everything looks good here and I am in full support of it

I'm basically gonna echo what Enigma said here. This looks pretty good, in favor of keeping it at 5 in 4 out with a guarantee, but by and large, liking what I'm seeing.

As far as the Star Ball goes, I can try and throw a sprite together for it, but I'm imagining we're more concerned with the effect the ball would have, yeah? There's five types Team Star's bosses specialize in, that seems like an obvious starting point, the question is, would that be a bit much, having the ball work better on five different types?

In terms of that, I am hard in favor of having all five balls...

Buuuut, IF there was a way we could condense down the design into something simple and all of them included new eevee ball lets goo I would be inclined to lean to that as moderator

Just popping in for this one, the crafting recipes look sensible, and if the mats are being handed out as often as intended then it all sounds good! As for the gacha, I personally prefer the 5 for 4 since that means I can get rid of a certain type of item I don't need faster~

So at first blush I was a little bit of two minds about the crafting as a widespread addition to the reward system. My hesitation comes from putting what seems to be a significant portion of rewards behind one shop and adding that extra step of inventory management rather than just handing out the items as rewards directly. But after thinking on it for a bit I do think being able customize your own rewards and work toward your own item based goals would ultimately outweigh the latter, and it’s not like we seem to have much issue behind shops getting terribly backed up. I think it only came to mind because this was the one shop that had to shut down from burnout but iirc that was more burnout on the Gacha end. Ultimately I end up in favor of most everything here, at least for the first and second points. I might also throw out there that it may be a good option to make some Mat drops guaranteed rewards based on the zone or subarea? Like the Forest of Wands in The Mystical Realm always gets you apricorns etc. and that’s mentioned in their descriptions. Just a thought, not married to the idea.

As for the third maybe this is a just me problem, and I think I understand the reasoning behind not wanting to put materials back into the gacha to prevent recursive entries, but if one of the reasons that function exists is to get rid of unwanted items off the character sheet I might worry that making materials a big part of the output might not completely solve the problem. For instance, I’ve got a bunch of mismatched shards from the old version disproportionate to my current need for evo stones so if I roll more, especially more of colors I don’t have a match for, that’s not really beneficial. How often have materials piled up in video games with crafting systems for items that you just don’t use? If I decide I don’t need pokeballs but keep rolling tumblestones every week they’re gonna similarly build up.

Maybe there could be a “cash out” option for each level of rarity of output? Something that’s not quite economically efficient, especially compared to posting, but gets you something a little more tangible than a Material you now have to sit on or arrange to trade away. My first rough thought would be $25 per rarity level. You just say as you’re posting to pick up: “ I’m claiming x y and Z and then A as ‘insert amount’ in cash”

Other than that I would say I’m more heavily in favor of 5 for 4 with a Guarantee. Not only does 4 feel like a more awkward number to work with than 5, but that guarantee would be pretty important (to me at least) for enjoying the gacha. Without it I feel like it could lead to fomo that’s at least somewhat avoidable. Someone else rolling that 3% breeds a lot more envy if it’s just straight odds but it’s less annoying if my results aren’t as disappointing in comparison with something guaranteed mid or high range. Maybe that comes off a little entitled but with no one profiting off of Fizzy or it’s gachas I don’t see a ton of reason it can’t be on the consumer friendlier end. Though in fairness this feeling is rooted in the current level of rarity of items and custom Fizzy stuff so it may have a different impact alongside the crafting system. But even then I think 5 is still the nicer number to work with.

Overall though, lots of good stuff and can tell the work and care that went into this, especially the recipes. Gj Lit.

I agree with the 5 for 4 with a guarantee. As much as I love pure gscha, I don't know if I want full pain gacha in fizzy. As for materials for the Cram/the recipes, I also like this because it encourages smaller more frequent rewards for adventures. And personally more of an ability to get Leaf Balls is MMMMMMM.. As someone who is frequently broke I also like the possibility of getting evolution stones through this method.

Very good work Leo. I don't see any big concerns/problems.

Alright, so it seems that those who have responded prefer to keep the gacha aspect as a 5 to 4 guarantee. I would love to see more discussion on the topic though before trying to push this with the other mods, as only a small amount of the community has posted.

To address Big's concern about burnout, the main burnout I was dealing with was having to manually roll everything every week despite asking for it to be implemented into the bot like with eggs. Though, I have found a solution that'll allow me to spend a lot less time with the weekly gacha rolls that'll be worked into the sheet itself.

As for recipes for things that have been documented since I made the list that isn't in the recipe list, I'm open to suggestions. I won't be working on them right now, as just getting the base shop live again is a major plan, but I'll make sure they get addressed and added.

I see nothing wrong with keeping to the 5-4 ratio, though agree with some concerns over simplifying the recipe list because my eyes went crossed as I scrolled down the list.

OK, glad you've found a solution that'll result in less burnout.

As for recipe suggestions, I want to do this, but need the time to look things over and think about things, which today has not afforded me. I'll see what I can come up with, and I promise I won't try suggesting a horribly convoluted Master Ball recipe this time. I mean, unless you're more open to the idea than you were last time I said something on the matter- *shot* ...No Master Ball. Got it. Message received and understood. I'll think of something, is my point.

Systems-wise, I like this. Materials allows me to drop bigger bundles of rewards on players without having to keep Bulba or Serebii handy, and if I know someone is working towards an item on a mema or such I can drop a handful of materials related to it if the item itself would be too big a reward. Really, just having more ways of getting hold of FB's many custom items would be a good idea.

My only issue is more a presentation of information thing. Like Raves said there's a lot going on with that list, but the more I read it the more I notice that a lot of the recipes have Material A and Material B be fixed, plus one variable material that determines the end product. We could condense these down to Pokeballs always using an apricorn and tumblestone, and just list the third ingredient that each variety needs (with exception to the Johtonian and special balls). I think this would make the crafting table look way less intimidating when all those redundancies are cut down.

Or just have these balls be "Pokeball + Item" and then allow chain creations.

I mean chain creations are already fine if everything is properly worked out in the submission post, but I rather keep the crafting materials route then just say "Pokeball + X". it is a lot better in terms of adventure rewards to be able to give out a bunch of materials when you're at a point where you should give rewards but don't feel like you can give out anything too too major. I will say Shadow's suggestion is probably better, but I will also be reformatting the crafting lists to look a lot better which should help out.
