Pokémon Sun and Moon General Discussion [Spoiler Warning]

A few thoughts I've compiled.

1. This is definitely Gen 7. The way Sun and Moon were announced was a montage of every main series gens one at a time, leading up to "2016 - Sun and Moon".

2. Screenshots of concept art.... notice the last one looks like Serena talking with... RED!?

3. If the graphics are as good as the concept art looks of, say, how the Pokemon Center is, something tells me this is going to look WAY better than XYORAS did.

They also then immediately went on to explain what they meant by that, didn't they? I assumed that's what the whole "you've always been able to transfer from as far back as RSE but now RBY digital release means you can transfer from gen I as well!" bit was.

Tbh all 6 regions seems like a terrible idea to me. GSC was cramped enough, they'd have to cut out like everything between gyms to fit them all on a leveling curve.

I was hyped up simply for that random cameo(?) of Red. That's definitely Red. I dunno about Serena but. Red. Considering the new RBY ports will be transferable to Sun/Moon, perhaps he'll actually make an appearance in the game.

Also glad to see they're moving away from the super chibi-fied overworld sprites. I was not expecting that but it's nice.

...Well, that was anticlimactic. Anyway, looks to be interesting, now to see if Europe gets Sun/Moon or Fates first. My money's on gen 7.

I have to say. The inclusion of an RV and a pickup truck in the artwork make me wonder if this is going to be... a BIG region. Like, continent sized. Perhaps it will be a continent with multiple regions on it...

Not necessarily. Remember, Unova had us take a ride in airplane -- and not some small biplane, but a cargo plane -- and that was just to get us to a city only one normal city's distance away from the nearest, bike-accessible city. You could be right, but I wouldn't put too much real-world stock in it just yet.

I feel more excited than this than I did for X/Y. I didn't play X/Y or ORAS until about a year after their releases. This intruiges me more. Potentially because Black/White 1/2 didn't grab me too much so my disinterest lingered.

I think I have hope after how much I enjoyed ORAS that they can keep the momentum going and deliver us with a really good story, strong graphics and some actually decent new Pokémon. I think in terms of new Pokémon less is more. Less quantity, but more genuinely interesting looking Pokémon with interesting type combinations.

Also I kind of hope this is set in the super far distant future. That would really make it stand out and set it apart from the rest of the series. And I hope the story delivers. BW 1/2 had a pretty good plot, and X/Y was okay so hopefully they can really go all out this time and pull through. I have faith.

Implying there will be a 'third version' or sequels considering releasing Gen 7 games this year and no Pokemon Z breaks that cycle

I would kill for this to happen. Though I doubt they'd do the same for all the other glitch Pokémon one could potentially have in R/B/Y, much as I'd like for .4 and h Poké to be on my team in whichever version I get (leaning towards Moon at the moment, but I'd kinda like more information before I actually decide). Still, though- if this leads to Missingno. being recognized as an actual Pokémon! Hell, yes! I'd want to use a Missingno. on my team, I'd want a Shiny Missingno., I'd want to EV train one to use competitively (if its stats remain like they are now, I'm thinking it'd pretty much be only for Trick Room teams), I'd want a Missingno. for my FB team (well, more than I already do, since this would mean it'd actually be possible, unless it gets classified as a legendary)... I... Just... Yes.

Prediction: This gen will have a moon base accessible via a Rocket. It could possibly host the last Gym Leader, the E4 or a legend.

Clearly the evil team(s) wants to blow up one or the other, each claiming that Day or Night is like the best thing ever and should be around at all times.

Obviously some flawed logic but hey, Team Magma wanted us all to die of thirst so villains obviously don't need to be logical.

(I wonder if Team Galatic will return this gen)
