Buizel was Jake's family pet up until he turned 10, when his dad let him take Buizel as his starter Pokémon. Buizel is loyal, quick-thinking, and sneaky, and will often surprise Jake by doing him an unexpected favor, such as standing up to someone he thinks is threatening his Trainer. Buizel is unique in that he has the power to use aura, a rare trait among non-Riolu or Lucario. Like his whole family, Buizel loves water and often splashes in the sea at beaches on the edge of Sinnoh, where he and Jake often vacation. Buizel has great people skills, uh, I mean, Pokémon skills, and he has convinced many Pokémon over the course of Jake's journey to help the duo out at certain times. (Note: I will not reference any of these "helpers" in the zones.)

He grit his teeth as the needle poked at his bare flesh, sinking in then pulling out through the other end of the laceration, as it slowly stitched together.

"Shoulda been canny around that sumbitch and their whip," the patient hissed. "Least I got 'em back better than they did me..."

The medic - if one could call them that - merely remained silent and focused while they worked on the wound. Said cut wasn't overly deep, but still oozed scarlet and stretched a good few inches long across the breast, and as the next stitch went in, the wound closed up a little more.

Footsteps preceded the entry of a young man, large coat and larger hat conveying a sense of authority on the ship, even as the medic continued to work.

"Came to gawk?" the patient grunted, before giving a sudden gasp as the needle prodded into a particularly sensitive spot, and they instinctively bit down on a small piece of wood on hand. The newcomer simply smiled, and sat down, watching the work as the injured man's face became tinted a little.

A few long minutes later, and the wound had been sealed shut, and washed down quickly before the medic wandered off, muttering something about other work including a replacement leg for one of the gunners who lost their peg leg to a burst of fire, leaving the two alone in the room.

"Cap'n claims you managed three kills this sortie-"

"Four. One of em ended up elopin' with a mermaid."

"Three according to the cap'n," the well-dressed gentleman chided, giving a small smile as the patient grumbled in irritance. "So that'll be two shares of the schooner's booty, plus three days' o' double rations. Much as I tried to bargain with the cap'n on the fourth, you know the rules."

The other sighed once more, before raising a hand as though to enquire on the status of their comrade.

"Amaro's fine, it'll take more than a couple of slugs to put him down. Speakin' of slugs, cap'n says you get a bit of a bonus for taking that nick for him. One o' the ship's own guns, still got a bit of growth in em," the fellow crooned, placing a ball into the lap of the wounded boy, who merely nodded.

"Cheers. Let 'im know I'll be back up top in a day or so."

"Aye, Kyve, I will," the gentleman smiled, before raising the injuree's chin up a little and giving a quick peck on the lips, causing the blush on his face to intensify as he gave a quick curse. "See ya next day, I'll let you rest for now, Love ya."

The one known as Kyve merely sat there, before giving a smirk back as the first mate left. "Heh, love ye too, Kidd," he whispered before giving the orb a once-over, and quickly deciding on a name for their new acquisition.
