Your scouting party assembled, you set out on your quest to find this supposedly special creature, the fortuneteller's gift in the way of apology to the old hunter she'd failed all those years ago. But with nothing to go on in regards to what type of beast it was, how would you track it down?

Robin takes to the skies, scouting the Defiled Woods from above. It circles overhead for a good while, but doesn't seem to find much of anything. Houndi and Lucy, in turn, seem to be having slightly more luck. The pup sticks its nose to the ground and concentrates; before long, he starts barking and running off to the west, where old withered trees become more abundant. Lucy hitches a ride atop the dog's head, scanning each tree trunk the rush past. Finally, it speaks to you telepathically, urging you to join you up ahead.

When you finally catch up, you see Houndi sniffing around a particular tree, older and larger than most others in its vicinity. He comes to a sudden stop and begins to bark more vigorously then before! You kneel next to Houndi to find what seems to be a patch of long white hair on the ground. Then, at Lucy's request, you turn your attention to the tree itself, where several marks can be seen on the trunk, as if something massive and sharp has been repeatedly rubbed against it...

Something tells you your target must be nearby, and it's not small. You should prepare... but do you have any inkling as to what beast you're tracking down based on what you found so far? And how will you lure it out?

Naru:

Phantom Isle is a rather unique island, it was said to be once a very vibrant and popular theme park that called tourists from all regions around to come and take a nice relaxing vacation in the number of area's it offered.

Now, it was abandoned and a number of tales of the supernatural variety were told of trainers brave (read: stupid) enough to venture further beyond the rusted down broken gates at the front of the harbors planks…

The name of the park was no longer readable, either the letters were missing or broken and there was even signs of graffiti along the walls and concrete floor leading up to the main path. In the midst of the entrance way was a mapped kiosk of the theme park with a number of area's that had their original name's crossed out and replaced with the names by those that journeyed through them. You have chosen to go to the area dubbed 'Ghost Train' it was just beyond the map's kiosk up a flight of steps, leading to the train's depot.

Within the brick building that was designed to be a sort of corral to hold those that wished to ride the train, you turn to the side of a wall that contained a number of memorabilia framed pictures of the building/plan process that took many long years to come up with...in the middle of them all was a larger and gorgeous golden frame with diamond studded rims, of course most of them were missing at this point...

The picture contained two men, smiling brightly as they shook hands and held a pair of large scissors cutting the red ribbon, opening the train for the first time to all those that wished to ride it (with a qualifying purchase ticket of the theme park for the date time and day). The picture's time stamp was about 70 years old at this point but the odder thing was that someone had nailed the famous newspaper article that contained the leading headline 'Train disaster inside of the ----- p-a-e in -he worl-' it was hard to tell, but the article spoke about the blame on the engineer and the owner of the theme park...

But that was ancient history now, as you move past the little memorial with candles that had reached its bases and toys displayed with banners of the names of those that lost their lives, you make your way outside where the steel frame of the train of the famous 'incident' sat...

You step inside where an untold story begins to reveal itself to you as you explore. To the right of you you find a seat burned from the ground up but the leather of the 'back' of the seat was still relatively intact and what was left behind was a silhouette of two people, a child and their guardian holding each other in a warm embrace upon their final moments...

Mimi crawled along before bumming into a burnt up teddy that somehow managed to not be burnt completely to a crisp. Leaving up to half of its body from being unscathed, it's lone eye had a soot on its bead eye making it appear like it had a tear in its eye...

Then finally you reach the back of the cabin where you find scratches on the wall, several actually, which only proved that deep down 'man' was nothing more than a wild beast that strived to survive at all costs...

A deep unsettling feeling strikes you in your stomach before Mimi looks up and witnesses a dark cloud of energy forming above your heads. A voice bellows loud that not only startles you but shakes the cabin itself, "GET OUT!"

You are not in any immediate danger but if you don't do as it says, who knows, "LEAVE MORTAL AND NEVER RETURN!"

What will you do?

OoC: That was the cutest visual I had of my Litwick riding onto of my Houdour’s head! Thank you for that!

“Mama, we think we’ve found something!” Lucy urges her trainer to join them, as they moved deeper into the withered forest, as Robin joined his trainer on her shoulder who had offered the owl a ride to rest and recoup.

With the few clues she had received she input the data into her trusty pokedex she had received way back when she had first started out with her Charmander. She remembered the times they’d find a Pokémon in a book or tale and look them up to see just what sort of Pokémon it was, then they’d imagine it joining them in a game of play, whether it was tag or tea. However, in this case she didn’t think having this Pokémon near them in real life would be such a wise idea. All she had was a few markings and long white hair to go by…but if the body was larger…she pondered, it narrowed it down a little bit. She wasn’t a scholar though, and even though she housed quite a variety of Pokemon she always didn’t like how lackish she seemed in regards of combat or the whole Pokémon world in general, but what she knew was just going to have to do.

“Could it be…was the beast they searched for a Drampa?” Liza had always marveled at such a creature, but she supposed if this was the beast then the tales of its serene nature was only half of the story…oh, but just to witness one in the wild…but was it right? She pondered; it hasn’t done anything to be taken as a trophy. Was it right to play judge and jury on a creature they knew nothing about. Wait! The disaster that took place, the isolated area- while there could be a number of Pokémon that could be habitable in a dying forest like this, an Absol also made sense, a Hisusan Zoroark maybe- though climate wise she couldn’t be sure. There was no telling exactly what kind of Pokemon it was until they ripped off the imaginary band aid and went for it.

Bringing out a flaming red pokeball, the scuffs of the surface showing quite a bit of wear and tear, what she had at the ready in the palm of her hand was a Pokémon she’d always had with her on any adventure that screamed ‘danger’. “Alright Sam, I know you can hear me. We’re flying out of here as soon as we get the mythical beast’s attention, Lucy will instruct you on the where a-bouts of our destination. Houndi and Robin will provide support if need be, grabbing it’s attention. If there is any signs of combat avoid it at all cost until we arrive at the hut unless you don’t have any choice, then Sam ‘Fire Shield’ Houndi ‘Detect’ Lucy ‘Protect’ Robin…stick close to me, maybe we can Attract them Sam or Captivate them Lucy, or we’ll just annoy them.” A deep breath later, “Alright no time like the present, let’s do this!”

You reach out to the Krokorok, berries in hand. The sand croc looks eager at your generous gift and then freezes in place. You see its gaze dart toward the Xatu, and you see a flash of terror as it clutches its head. The Pokemon then looks like it's overcome with fear, and flees back into the bushes. It looks like any goodwill you may have showed it was ruined. Well, that was a bit unfortunate.

At least that gave you some information. The Pokemon on the island tended to avoid the villagers and were afraid of them. Additionally, they were afraid of their mind getting probed. Considering what your Breloom had experienced earlier in the day... it made sense that the minds of these people were unsafe places. Actually, thinking on it... you haven't seen ANY wild Pokemon here at all. Most of them were with trainers, either villagers or tourists.

With that lead done, you head into the inn for the night. There was that missive you still had, and this finally felt like a safe place to read it. Away from prying eyes and ears. Tomorrow you'd be heading to the reef, and you'd need to figure out how. That Krokorok could've been helpful traversing the inner desert, but that was a bust now. Unless you managed to establish trust with it tomorrow...

What do you do?

Saito sighed as he sat on the - admittedly - most comfortable chair he had ever seen in his life. As he reflected on the day's events, he glanced over to the rest of the party who had begun roosting or nesting for the night in various parts of the room, with Breloom and Manectric especially claiming the bed for themselves. Which was just as fine - Saito chose the chair, because beds like these didn't exist where he was originally from, and his old profession demanded that he had to sleep in a position that would allow him to awaken and act at any moment's notice.

Throughout the nights that he had spent with this party of Pokemon, he did notice one curious thing: Xatu never seemed to sleep. She just solemnly stared out of the window, perhaps quietly blaming herself for the social mishaps of the previous day.

"Do you have a plan for tomorrow?" She finally thought.
Saito nodded. "It might be best if you took a break for once. I'll try to see if I can find that strange lizard in the morning, and then we'll set out for the reef. It seems like we'll have to cross the island's inland desert on the way there. And, uh... I don't believe that you're to blame for any of this. These are just minor setbacks, since we haven't been run out of the village, at least. But it seems that from here on out, we'll have to rely on our eyes and ears, and keep our thoughts to ourselves."

For the first time ever since Saito had found the party after arriving to this present time, he seemingly felt silence that was almost deafening. Looking more closely at Xatu, it appeared that she had closed her eyes, the first time that Saito had ever observed her sleeping. The strange feeling that Saito had was perhaps Xatu's mental connection breaking, with the new trainer barely understanding that Xatu must have kept this up during the entire past few weeks since they had first met.

"Did all of you travel like this with your previous trainer too?" Saito whispered, before drifting off to slumber himself.

Many know of Phantom Isle, the haunted theme park that has terrified all those who entered. But after years of adventuring across the island, some trainers dared to go further out to sea from the mainland. Here they quickly found a number of other land masses, each just beyond the horizon from the next, forming a perfect circle with Phantom Isle at its base, though some have claimed the islands take the true form of the darkest witchcraft itself, Phantom Isle being the quintessential element of Spirit in this reverse pentagram. The first to be discovered was deemed the Defiled Oasis, possibly once a place of fae magic and abundant beauty, destroyed by companies to hide their power plant meant to fuel Phantom Isle's theme park with electricity, its existence hidden from the rest of the world after the failure of the park. Those that believe the theory of witchcraft have stated that this place's destroyed terrain has all but devastated what once was a place of only the purest Air quality. Next came the Conflagrant Spire, a beautiful and lush rainforest island with its own towering volcano, dotted with relics of a civilization past. While some say the great fire of the island's volcano disproves the theory of witchcraft, others have pointed out that the altars point to sacrifices to the Earth itself, further supporting the horrid story. Then came the Quiescent Glacier, less a land mass than a strange and massive chunk of ice, having made its way here some time ago but refusing to go even an inch further. The stillness of the ice seems to have filled the missing elemental slot on its own, the tranquil Water here sitting peacefully where other islands show the constant signs of the tide. Finally came the Tranquil Lagoon, so named for its seeming normalcy in comparison to the rest of the islands, where trainers would soon call home for those who wished to live away from the mainland. Ever stoking the Fire of the hearth, the villagers here set forth to live away from the craziness of the mainland, by whatever means necessary.

Each place was distinctly different, yet their mysteries all seem they could be connected in some way. Voyage has been granted to all trainers from the mainland, hoping to discover the true secret behind this strange land, but adventurers beware, Phantom Isle is not the only place of terror among the Archipelago. Please note that only direct traffic from island to island is approved at this time, as the conspiracy theorists firmly believe that at the center of this Archipelago, deep beneathe the sea, lies the most ancient evil ever to take seat in Fizzytopia, a statement that simply cannot be ignored.

Conflagrant Spire
Please reply in IndianRed

At the northeast of the Archipelago can be found the Conflagrant Spire, an active volcano that has formed into an incredibly tall and thin tower of a mountain. The spire itself finds itself to the far west side of the island, with the land below stretching and reaching out, as if attempting to grab out at the island far to the south. The nutrient rich soil hosts lush plantlife and a wide variety of fauna, leaving this what would be the most naturally beautiful of all the islands. That beauty hides a horrible secret, however, relics of times past that hint at terrible rituals that were once conducted here in the name of ancient deities. Those who have braved the island have yet to find anything resembling human life, yet these horrid sites remain clean, as though used only yesterday. It is unknown when the Spire last erupted, let alone when it will again, but a temple at its top gives hint that it must have been some time ago.

Sub Areas:

The Ashen Coast:
West of the spire is where all ash falls, thanks to the breeze created by the change in weather condition of the Archipelago due to the constant cold air from the Quiescent Glacier attempting to suck in the heat from so far away. While the ash falls into the ocean long before reaching any of the other islands, the coast here is kept rich by what percentage of it lands here, leading to healthy Pokemon happy to roam the area for the small foliage that pokes through the sand.
She had been hearing it for weeks now, ever since arriving on the Archipelago. The unmistakable sound of thunder, even with clear blue skies. Sometimes it even woke her up in the middle of the night. She had come here specifically to train and get stronger, before returning to the mainland to embark on her journey proper, help people, take requests, challenge Gyms, all the things she desperately wanted to experience! But this was eating her up and preventing her from giving it her all, even when she had specifically come to this uninhabited isle to get away from the noise and confusion.

She didn't hear it all the time. One or two days could even go by without the sound ringing in her ears. But after that, without fail, it would return. She had wondered a lot of things over those past few weeks - most scary of all that she might be losing her mind - but lately she had the feeling it might be something else, something... important. Like someone was calling out to her.

"Which I guess doesn't really rule out the chance that I did go crazy, right?"

Bandit barked back in disapproval. Even the strange-looking Growlithe didn't really understand Haley's torment, he still believed in his Trainer wholeheartedly. It must have been upsetting her quite a bit - after all, they had been training harder than ever in preparation for something his Trainer felt was coming. If Haley believed she was being called by someone, even if it meant trouble, Bandit would stay by her side. After all, she had been the one to save him from that Adoption Center, when nobody would take him because of his looks.

Haley's gaze then turned to Cyan, the Psyduck she had received from her grandmother. He had been part of the team for a little while, and to that day Haley still couldn't tell what was going on in that head of his. From what little she knew, he seemed less plagued by headaches than most of its kind, but at the same time, he barely acknowledged hers or anybody else's presence. Still, more importantly, his demeanor did seem to change slightly when she heard the thunder - could he hear it too? Did he sense something during those moments perhaps?...

And then there was the latest addition to her team... Slippy. She might have been duped on that one. She had heard time and time again that strong Trainers rarely passed up a chance to raise a Dragon Pokemon; so when she found the "bargain" of a "rare and powerful dragon for only $5000", she decided to take her chance. And Slippy, well... was a sentient pile of goo. The most cheerful bundle of joy in the world, for sure, but so... not-dragon!

"Well... I can't keep pretending this is normal. I have to do something! The sound of thunder has only gotten louder since I arrived on this island. I have to understand why!"

Bandit barked again in agreement. Haley smiled and scratched his head, which felt more like rock than fur. He really was a strange kind of Growlithe.

"Thanks for being here Bandit. And don't worry - if bad comes to worse, we can always use the gift grandma sent, remember?"

The letter said she'd know when the time came to put it to use. Haley wasn't so sure about that, but she kept the Fire Stone wrapped in a cloth inside her Bag ever since.

"Well guys... let's go chase that super weird noise that might not even be real! I'm a totally normal girl!!"

Self-mockery made it easier to stomach somehow. And so, she proceeded along the Ashen Coast, team in tow, with absolutley no idea what to do next...

You sense how close you are to your target, and yet can't quite put your finger on what the creature might be. For precaution, you send out your oldest partner, a powerful Charizard you plan to use as your escape route. Defense measures in place, you continue scouring the area for the fabled beast, until your head begins to hurt again. Is the fortuneteller trying to speak to you again? No, this migraine is different, more unpleasant and, crucially, it seems to be affecting your partners as well. Sam, Lucy and Robin all seem to be in pain, and only Houndi seems to be withstanding the headache. Psychic power, then?

The migraine increases in intensity, your vision blurs. Houndi starts barking uncontrollably, warning you of danger, but you feel too dizzy to make an escape. You stare into the distance, and see it: an absolutely massive four-legged beast, white and gray in color, with two majestic antlers glowing with psychic energy - no doubt what made those deep cuts in the nearby trees. Though you may not recognize it as such, this is an ancient creature first discovered in the Hisuian Region, and even then not an ordinary specimen of its kind - it is positively enormous, with an ominous shade of red in its eyes... it's an Alpha Wyrdeer!

The beast marches toward you, not at a furious gallop but a pondered trot. Still, the closer it gets, the more your head hurts, as well as those of your Charizard, Rowlet and Litwick... it is positively incapacitating. Sam is strong enough to struggle through the pain to raise a shield of fire, but neither Robin nor Lucy manage to carry out their orders. Houndi seems capable of continuing, and is ready to Detect any hostility from the Alpha Pokemon, but no actual attack seems to come. Its mere presence is overpowering.

This is it, you manage to hear Misdreavus through the pain, this is the fabled creature I want the hunter to see... please, do your best...

What will you do?

Electric Blue Eye:

Despite having been here before, it feels like a lifetime ago, and yet it clearly left scars that have not yet closed entirely. A journey left unfinished, perhaps? Or one that did conclude, but in a way too traumatic for you to recall? Being as it may, a long time has passed, and you decide to return to Phantom Isle to test your strength in the fabled Circus Tent arena. Proving yourself seems to be your only concern, yearning for nothing else - at least no public record of your ambitions exist, no wish parchment at any Shrine. Your deeper desires are a mystery to all except yourself.

Legend has it this is a battlefield made by and for ghosts, vengeful spirits who yearn for blood and combat. And at the end of the deadly gauntlet is supposed to be a champion of dark energy that nobody has ever actually seen, or returned alive from engaging. Is this a wise idea?...

You feel a definite shift in atmosphere as you step inside the Tent. The air is heavy with malice, a faint ankle-high layer of thin purple mist covers the floor. It all feels oppressive, a world for lingering spirits that living creatures are not meant to thrive in. Which is to say, the odds may well be in the ghosts favor if you do decide to engage.

Who goes there?

The voice echoes across the Tent, silent and booming at the same time, a voice of command and power.

Oh, it seems another human comes to find us at last. State your name and your intentions!

This is it - even if you changed your mind now, you somehow doubt the hungry souls around you would let you leave unharmed. What will you do?

Your adventure has now started! Please declare 6 Pokemon to bring to the gauntlet challenge. You can use any items in your Bag. Good luck!

The pain from the psychic attack was enough to make anyone want to quit, but what pained the lass more than anything was seeing her own Pokémon in pain, she could’ve retuned them into their poke balls but for her plan to work she couldn’t risk any of them from being put away just yet, besides she already had the perfect Pokémon for the job on the ground all she could do now was rely on him and wait for it to play out, but that didn’t mean he was entirely alone.

~*~*~

Reminiscent of a time much much earlier than the start of most of her stories...

Liza remembered a time of far more innocence, a time she and her Pokémon were all starting out together.

Back then, it was a time of beginning’s. A number of Pokémon that Liza obtained were from trades, not uncommon in the land of Fizzytopia but in the beginning she was more of a novice than she was now, plus her goals were much different than they were now for example, she sought after Pokémon that would help her in her journey and something she wished to have when she had a lot of baby Pokémon to look after was a protector.

Sam was still a Charmander at the time, while she respected her trainer, she was not obedient enough to justify her taking care of the rest of the team but one night a different outlook changed everything, during a campout under the stars that Liza had organized soon found herself having fallen asleep as did a number of her other Pokémon. Sam was tasked to keep watch but had had a fair share of s’mores and had fallen asleep too. Everyone else was still asleep when she came to, everyone except Houndi- who was nowhere to be found, so the Charmander at the time did the only logical thing to do and went in search for him and when she did eventually find him she found him at the end of the path from where their trainer was sound asleep...he was just seating there looking towards the grove where the number of Pokémon it had just taken out had come out from, the number of Beedrill KO’d on the ground next to him evidence of that, that’s when Sam quickly realized the importance of a ‘Guardian’.

~*~*~

Samantha gave the Houndour a reassuring grunt, he wasn’t alone, if things got hairy, she was there to back him up!

Like many of Liza’s Pokémon, they could all hold their own if their trainer was out for the count and unable to give them a proper command. This didn’t happen automatically, it was through the years of traveling and adventuring together that molded this, on his own as a guardian Houndi knew these where his best options of attack- first he’d give Wrydeer a fair warning of a Howl then provide a Tormenting insult that would limit any super effective moves from being used more than once on him. The second course of action was to weaken it for the hunter to take it down easier, a good calculated Super Fang would do nicely, the question was how would the Alpha Pokémon likely react to it be aggressed?

Conflagrant Spire was a marvelous sight to behold, an island virtually untouched by man in the decades prior to the fog lifting up from of its discovery. Though relics and shrines of a bygone civilization that once lived there were still scattered throughout the land whose truer purpose has never come out to light…they say even the archeologist that came to research them had all but mysteriously disappeared, the eeriness of the reason why no habitants could live off the land even more puzzling…

The soil was rich with nutrients which made a lot of the fauna and plant life grow to larger sizes than normal and where you were walking along, the sandy beach was paved in a beautiful black sand, a phenonium that was largely due in part to the continuous ash that fell from the active volcano in the middle of the island.

Even with all this nice scenic picturesque view, something in the back of your mind was fixated on what was causing those thunderous claps. Maybe it was instinct that every time you heard one you’d look up but even doing so you never witnessed a single cloud, the sky was clear in such a nice sunny day, why would there be thunder?

Overhead you witnessed a flock of Pokémon such as a Toucannon, Trumbeak and Pikipeak coming out of the woodwork looking rather distressed and in particular in the Toucan Pokémon’s case, while it’s more serious expression was always quite present, there seemed to be a twinkle of a tear in its eye that it seemed to be holding back. What followed were the squawking, squeaks, grunts, growls and roars of different kinds of Pokémon throughout the island’s jungle all sounding very upset. Then another boom of thunder that silenced them all, just as quickly as it announced itself the first time. The latest one was so loud it felt like the whole island shook beneath your feet, causing you to trip and stamper back on your bum with the soft sand underneath cushioning your fall.

Then a sudden droplet of rain hit your face as you saw the light become more shaded, you look up again only to witness a storm now brewing and before you know it, rain. A heavy set rain that only happened in a rain forest. It wasn’t so odd that a storm showed up out of nowhere but rather what came shooting out of the tippy top of the peak, four orbs of energy all flying out in different directions and one of them was headed your way! Your Hisuian Growlithe barks uncontrollably before you nudge it to go with you as you sprint down the shore Psyduck had waddled ahead of the rest of the gang, did it know something you didn’t? And Goomy had hitched a ride on Bandit’s back, with a blinding light striking the sand, causing it to kick up into the air just as you and your Pokémon all managed to lunge forward in the last second before getting squashed by a large crystal emitting electricity and levitating in place.

Thunder keeps crackling as you see something rustling from the bushes, then all of a sudden a Pawmi comes stumbling out, it looked rather frazzled but once it’s cheeks static with electricity coming from the stone, it was like a switch inside of its brain had been turned to menacing. It’s look in its eyes were a menacing red and it’s expression was frowned in an anger tone. It was about two seconds away from firing off a Thundershock at you and your Pokémon, better think fast.

Good luck!
Walking inside the tent the trainer had a serious expression on his face, he was more than prepared to enter the Pyroar’s den, as he stepped in lifting the tent’s veil for Luna to follow suit he thought over his rooster. Apart from Luna the Umbreon, the trainer brought on five other reliable Pokémon; Jaws his loyal Garchomp who was capable of mega evolving. Razor the Scizor that served as a body guard to his trainer, there was also Thorn his rock larva Pupitar, that was stoic ever since her evolution, Adam his Sableye who maybe wouldn’t or would take the gauntlet seriously depending on how he felt and finally a newcomer to his team than the rest, a Shiny Mimikyu by the name Mimi who was just happy to get out of the base.

Ethan chuckled to himself which gave the Umbreon an annoyed expression.

This reminded the trainer of a time long ago when he had set out to conquer the battling scene in Cascadia’s most nefarious city, Slain.

After managing to snag a spot in Slain City’s exclusive gym leader tournament in honor of their retiring Champion of the region, Gottfried. Ethan was quickly blackmailed into giving up the plates of Arceus he had been collecting during his time of journeying across multiple regions. He refused, no that wasn’t right, he ignored the threat and continued through the tournament quickly finding friend and foe on the battlefield leading to him finding out more than what he had bargained for, a power struggle between those in higher positions. A gym leader attacked, Ethan accused and a heart attack taking the Champion out as he faced a Dark Gym Leader in front of thousands with no way of knowing for sure if he was an ally or not…the reasons for the plates and their truer purpose still lost on the young man, even now...

A conversation Ethan had before he left his base for this little trip popped up now that he was here.

“You don’t have to do this, there’s nothing there for you to prove…” His Gastly had exhausted any rational, even irrational point he could come up with. James knew it was pointless because when an idea got into Ethan’s head there was no stopping him. What was worst of all however, was James wasn’t part of the planned team going with him...

James’ trainer listened but the look on his face as he complimented the moon’s reflection on the ocean’s surface, said there was no changing the course of his next actions.

“You know what to do James if things go bad for us…don’t you?”

“Yeah…I do,” while James hoped it didn’t come to that.

To anyone else, the voice over head that spoke with such enthusiasm might’ve been something to fear but no, to Ethan what was there to fear when he had faced far harsher realities in this world.

“My name is Ethan Rivers and I’m here to take the title of Champion!”

“Ummmmmbreeeeon!”

Let the games begin!

Alilatias-

With the events of the night winding down, you have a small chat with your Xatu. You wonder why the Pokemon had decided against sleeping... Well, until now. Yet, for now, you truly were alone in your own head. There was no mental link. Nothing. Just you and yourself as drift away into sleep in that island chair.

You feel water hit your skin as you open your eyes. A sinking feeling enveloped your mind as you realized you were deep in the ocean and tried to struggle to breathe. Yet, as the water filled your lungs, you saw a flicker. A flicker of light that doubled. Then it grew larger, and larger until two yellow lights were gazing deep into your soul. Its form was mostly darkened due to the depths you were further sinking into.

Yet, as it moved, you could see parts of the shadow. It looked... like a dragon. Or was it a fish...? This was a creature from the deep depths. And it swam towards you... closer... and closer... and closer. Until it towered over you, and coiled up. You could see various other, much smaller shades watching you from high on up. They seemed more humanoid... but still fish-like. And then the creature struck, swallowing you whole as words flashed through your mind.

"Consume the betrayers."

You awaken in a flash and see the morning light pour in. You feel drenched, sweat dripping from your brow. Looking around, the rest of your team was sleeping soundly. It seems that you woke up first, with a cryptic message as well. Perhaps it was a message from the Sea God? Or was it something more... sinister? You then notice a soft glow and see the missive given to you.

What do you do?

"Ugh... What the hell was that?" Saito wondered. He thought about waking up the party to discuss what he had just witnessed in his mind, but figured there would be other opportunities later. He didn't want to disturb their rest, after all. But this ordeal was bringing back memories of exactly how he managed to travel to this present day, completely by accident.

A dream about a cave, which he would later find in the waking world. A telepathic demand to perform some kind of unknown ritual at a strange altar within. And upon refusal, some power seized him. As that occurred, his sense of self drifted in and out of himself like ocean tides. Somehow, he did not sense anything bad happening to the people he left behind as a result of whatever occurred, or that whatever tried to impose its will upon him was successful in their ultimate goal in the end. He was only fully aware of one particular detail.

While those events unfolded, Saito remembered briefly regaining consciousness on the back of a Pokemon in a strange indescribable tunnel, flashing with images of many things that he could not comprehend. The Pokemon itself flew, but did not flap her red wings, hovering with psychic power instead. Much of the rest of her body was white, and he remembered the feeling of resting on soft down, even if it didn't look like she possessed fur or feathers.

Wait. How did Saito know that this mysterious savior, if he could call her that, was female? He was at least sure that she was not responsible for whatever happened, but she did navigate him out of it. The hapless trainer searched his memories further, and remembered her telepathically communicating with him.

"...As for where we are going, there will be allies awaiting you at our destination. Keep them close, as they need you as much as you need them. I will take my leave from you once we arrive to look for a means for you to return, should you will it by seeking me out. In previous eras, we would have demanded that everyone remain in their place, but the One Who Sees All had recently directly intervened in bringing another in the opposite path..."

Saito pulled himself away from these thoughts, thinking he could reflect on them later, as the missive demanded his immediate attention. He reached over to read it...

Alilatias-

You muse over your mysterious benefactor, the one who told you of things yet to come. A brilliant crimson paired with snow white. A psychic being, who would be your proper aide and guide. You needed to find her, one day. Yet, that was not today. Perhaps it would be tomorrow? Tomorrow is a hope, never a promise, after all. Yet, it seems silly to send you forward only to meet your immediate end.

Deciding the time was right, you finally read the missive from the night prior. It was permitting you to enter the reef and to weed out any remains of the poachers that may still be there. Though, as you read it, it also states that the reef must not be further damaged. That if you saw any wildlife causing harm to the recovering Corsola population, they would be chased off. So, it was a two-found mission. Take out the remnants of the poachers, and prevent the Corsola from getting predated on.

So, that was the gist of it all. You see the soft glow leave the paper once you finished reading the rather interesting script. The letters, while legible in the common script, were stylized in a more... runic style. No, you had never seen this before. It was a foreign kind of writing these letters, even if they made perfect sense to you. Seems this place held even more secrets.

No matter, what you needed to decide on was getting to the reef. You could trek across the island, through the desert. That might've been the easier option if you had managed to befriend the Krokorok from yesterday. The other way would be riding your Mantine across the waters. Both ways had their pros and cons, and it was up to you to decide how you would begin moving forwards.

What do you do?

What do you do?
Once the Pokemon awoke, the party convened to consider their options.

Saito muttered, "We could try to fly over the desert, but I don't think any of you have attempted anything like that before. Only Altaria and Mantine would be capable of carrying me as well, though I don't think Mantine cares much for floating over land for such an extended period of time."

For a moment, it appeared that Xatu had been asking the rest of the Pokemon for their opinion on the matter as well, or at least the party's veterans to see if they had ever treked across the vast expanse of a desert before coming across their previous trainer. Soon after, she replied, "Indeed, none of us are familiar with the desert climate. Perhaps the Pokemon we encountered last night would have been of assistance. Alas..." She appears to hang her head in shame.

"There's not much we can do about it now," Saito reassures her. "I suppose the letter did not forbid us from taking the more direct approach of simply surfing to the reef either. It would be faster, but it would have its own dangers. Most of us are much less suited to combat on the waves if we were to encounter an ambush as we approach our destination. Either way, we don't want to be caught anywhere on this island when whatever is responsible for the coming wind storm arrives."

Xatu looked back at the party, and Saito would observe each member holding up their arms or limbs or tails as if they were holding a vote that he couldn't listen in on. Finally, he heard her voice again.

"The majority has elected to risk the waves. While much of us are capable of flight and can thus escape most danger in the skies wherever we are, those of us who are incapable of such a thing would be far more at the mercy of the desert. We would minimize risk to the entire party by surfing, yet remaining as close to the shore as possible."

As the party began to consider their physical capabilities for the surfing route, they began to form a plan. Said plan was as thus: Saito would surf on Mantine over the waves to the reef, with most of the party remaining in their Pokeballs. Swellow and Altaria would be the only other members of the party to remain outside to follow, as the rest of the aerial Pokemon may lack the stamina to keep up with the intended traveling speed (or in Skarmory's case, his armor would likely rust). Should the party encounter opposition on the way there, Saito would quickly leap on Altaria as Mantine and Swellow move to engage the threat. Should the waters prove too treacherous, the party would simply retreat to the shores and try to walk the rest of the distance to the reef.

The party checked their supplies, and after Saito was certain everyone was prepared, the group started to depart for their destination.

ShadowDRGN: Lagoon Village

"Fate, It's such a fickle beast. Nothing truly is set in stone you realize that right?" Her eyes darkened as she peered at you, once warm, but now they seemed sharp, they seemed to peer beyond what was currently present, and if you had to guess this could be the only clue to if she was a seer or just simply remembering something that happened long ago.

"Time isn't linear. It too is a fickle beast one that is hard to read given that even the smallest of changes can drastically change the outcome one looks for. Sometimes streams merge into one event regardless of the actions taken to change or prevent it... But even then those can be changed in a heartbeat.

Anna's voice took on a deep emotional feel as she spoke, despite it overall being simple statements. Perhaps this was something that Anna learned as they grew. Who was to say?

"To truly answer your question I suppose I am content with what it is I see." She set her drink down on a small table set in front of her. Whatever it was they saw... It was something calm and probably enjoyable for them. They were relaxed despite the ongoing events outside the house.

"Tornadous flys here as we speak, not like that one would see normally, but within its Therian Form. Like the name suggests it takes on a more animalistic form than that of the humanoid form one might think about when hearing about the Kami of Clyclones. It shall be flying here as it does on its yearly cycle through the lands and will be bringing about whirlwinds as it flies and will be protected by a cloud as it approaches.

Should you indeed be attempting to tame the Force of Nature, I hope you have brought adequate gear and Pokemon suitable for battle and chasing down this fearsome Pokemon"

She spoke as if she already knew your intentions for coming here, perhaps that's what she had seen, or could be the most logical clue to come here during this particular point of the year, to the Seer. Who's to say but you?
What will you say?

Time seemed to be dragging on for far longer than you thought it was, Something indeed was happening, going on as this fight was taking place. Dialga's Gate could be causing a time distortion here. It would explain why Sableye learned some new moves after being bathed in some light.

Sableye followed your commands flawlessly as it could, the barrage of attacks striking one after another with increasing signs of the Kirlia slowing down further and further. After the onslaught was brought, something that defied the laws of nature happened. The spectral Kirlia evolved once more, not only just evolving into one of its final evolutionary stages, but further growth beyond that.

Its elongated arms extended out further becoming red and jagged in form, its legs thickening and its waist becoming rounded in shape, the chest spike softening while the head crests became one and elongated, two cloak-like protrusions sprouted from where one could conclude its shoulders sat. It became knightlike in every aspect. Mega Evolution.

The spirit seemed unfazed by this change and remained fixated upon you the whole time, its eyes boring into you, seeming to judge you and awaiting your next move. Were you strong enough to face the challenge before you?

Nearby, a stone within a pile shook and shuddered. Surrounding itself in the light and shadows together, it seemed to use energy to fix the cracks within its surface and restore a shine that once had long been dormant, the colors even changing in the stone, going from white with green and pink streaks, to Yellow with purple and red streaks down the center of the jewel. The stone seemed to call out to you and your partner, wanting to bask you within its newfound strength, but only if you answered the call. The call to keep fighting and pushing on.

The Mega Gallade specter stayed itself as it awaited your decision, making this a more honorable fight waiting for your choice.

What Would you Do?

Face to face with a massive creature such as an Alpha Pokemon, especially one which can hinder your entire party with its psychic presence alone, might feel like an insurmountable task, but you're not about to give up. After all, you're doing this for the fortuneteller who just wants to right her wrongs in life before moving on as a spirit.

Undeterred, you press onward, Houndi equally motivated: it Howls bravely, boosting its own confidence, but Wyrdeer's expression remains unchanged. Meanehile, the persistent headache makes you feel nauseous, it's not letting up and it's frankly driving you insane. The rest of your team isn't faring any better either. Houndi follows up with a Torment, but the Alpha Pokemon simply retaliates by suddenly picking up speed and driving its gigantic antler into Houndi's side, the vicious Megahorn sending the poor dog flying and crashing into a nearby tree. For a moment you fear the worst, but the courageous Houndour wills itself back up, panting and wincing in pain. Curiously enough, your own migraine seems to have let up while Wyrdeer was attacking... but it soon comes back in full force.
Houndi leaps toward the much larger foe and hits a powerful Super Fang that causes the Wyrdeer to let out a heart-wrenching cry of pain, and it in turn fights back by suddenly prancing and slamming its hooves into Houndi's head, a Stomp that almost knocks Houndi out cold. But this time, you're certain - when Wyrdeer focuses on a single opponent to attack it, its mental concentration weakens and everyone else's headache temporarily goes away... You exchange a glance with Sam, who seems to have noticed it too.

Houndi is on its last legs, and the Alpha Pokemon is enraged at your unprovoked threat. If this goes on much longer, there's no telling what it will do to your brave, yet much smaller, canine companion...

What will you do?!

-------------------------------------------------

Electric Blue Eye:

You are determined to see this through, perhaps to an almost obsessive degree. What does the title of “Champion” even mean in this context, especially if there is nobody around to witness the feat? If there us anything more to this decision of yours, it remains to be seen, but either way, besting Phantom Isle’s undead gauntlet is your number one priority.

Declaring your name, intentions and companions for the challenge, you step forward boldly deeper into the tent-turned-arena. Eerie mist swirls around your ankles as you make your way to center, then starts to coalesce in front of you, growing to a human-sized mass of purple haze that slowly gains detail. Before long, a knight clad in purple armor stands before your, flaming swords for arms. Its penetrating gaze sends a chill down your spine, as the creature seems to be sizing you up.

… I hope you at least make this interesting for us. It has been quite a while since we had a challenger. There is a definite hint of disdain in its voice. I am Ceruledge, keeper of our Lord. In the unlikely scenario that you should defeat my squires, I shall be your opponent. I wonder if you’ll be the one to make it that far.

Suddenly, voices can be heard all around you. You look up to see blueish flames light up the seats where patrons once came to see the circus many, many years ago. A congregation of souls has come to see the spectacle.

I will warn you one last time – this is our playground. The odds are never in your favor for the mere fact that you yet live.

With those words Ceruledge vanishes in a cloud of mist. But you are not left alone for long – a wailing sound makes itself heard, growing in intensity, before the ground starts to shake. A small fissure opens on the ground a few feet away from you, and a strange stone emerges from the depths. It is cracked in several places, and dark purple smoke seeps from those cracks, taking the form a twisted face with glowing green eyes. Your first opponent is a Spiritomb!

Empowered by the dark energies of this place, the Spiritomb seems to grow larger than its usual size. It stares into your soul, eager for a fight.

What will you do?

Ethan watched as the specter changed form once more, from Kirlia to Gallade. Then, ascending even further beyond with the power of Mega Evolution. A phenomenon found in both the Kalos and Hoenn regions. Something that was perhaps too much, only used in times of desperation. Or to show off power. Yet, it was dangerous, and not every Pokemon could deal with that amount of power. Still, this ghost from the past was trying to prove something with this. What the hell did that kid get into back then?

Still, a gleam within Kyle's trash pile caught his eye. A Sablenite. Considering the Gallade now propositioning an 'honorable' duel. One to uphold its ideals of 'justice.' Now weren't those pretty words? No matter, Ethan quickly snatched the jewel and tossed it over to the Sableye. The Pokemon looked a bit confused, but gingerly set down the King's Rock that was atop his head. Ethan then felt a surge of energy coming from his glove. Inside the palm, a keystone was affixed. While he primarily used it as a catalyst for Z-moves with Lucas, this would be something entirely different altogether.

Gripping tightly, Ethan channeled the power of his keystone to the Sablenite Kyle was now holding. Power surged forth, ever hungry. The Sableye was soon encased within a cocoon of energy, metamorphosing into a stronger, more temporary form. A dark wind howled through the cave as this happened, and Ethan thought he could feel a... separate presence for a second. How odd. Yet, it was gone as soon as it came, as the Sableye was reborn into something new.

A large, ruby shield dwarfed the Sableye holding it, clear eyes now blood red. A small hole was within his chest, the gem there now the bulwark before him. No longer was he able to tap into his Prankster abilities, but instead his shield could magically bounce back any status thrown his way. A trickster changing to a guardian. Yet, that's all they needed. What would win? A sword of false justify, or the trickster's aegis?

"Kyle, use your Shadow Sneak from beneath your shield, before lobbing a Shadow Ball from cover! Then, surprise them by using your shield for Zen Headbutt!" Ethan ordered. Best to use what limits they currently have to their advantage.

Lil'twick:

The Gallade seemed satisfied with your choice, relishing in the increase of power with your partner and seemingly going all out with each attack, parrying and striking back with each attack Sableye threw at him with equal gusto. Sableye performed these attacks flawlessly as it went, only slightly catching the gallant Pokemon off guard with each strike.
Time seemed to flow by even faster as you watched the two Pokemon speed up faster and faster before they were a blur, the Sableye tossing and using its shield with increasing proficiency. With each successive attack, you noticed that the spectral Gallade was losing speed and energy, It wasn't long before it kneeled to one foot, the energy empowering it dissipating soon after, reverting it to its normal form.

The spectral form of the Gallade faded away and within the blink of an eye, the other spectral form stood before you.
"You can hold your own within the throes of battle. Good"
The boy's stare changed from that of unwavering judgment to that of warmth and relief. A sense that they made the right choice after doubting it all the way. You watched as the spectral form started to fade from view, breaking apart into orbs of light that danced across your partner's wounds and healing them as they faded away.

Now... Did it end? Finally, it seemed to be over.

This marks the end of this long. Drawn out adventure that I do not wish to drag even further for no reason.
Sableye has gained 5 levels from the fight, ( You now have a lore reason for happening across the Sablenite )
Digging through the rubble of the Sableye's hoard you have found 5x Comet Shards, A Dawn Stone, and what appears to be a Chaos Shard. A Dark Gem and Ghost Gem have also been found.

Be freed from this adventure and push forth into new stories!

“Haven’t you heard?" The trainer grinned, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated!” The trainer laughed though he didn’t exactly know why and before long he simply sighed.

…death…huh?

Ethan couldn’t bare reminisce of the past now that he faced a challenge that would truly awaken his soul. If he had one, a lot of people he faced throughout the years would tell you otherwise. It wasn’t like anything but battling and finding the truth of the worlds secrets brought him the joy he sought, it was the only reason he ever became a thief to begin with, maybe one day he'd finally uncover the truest truth...only time would tell of that venture however. Would he one day fight God itself if his ambitions brought him that far, or would he falter among the weight of the immersive pressure casting its shadow over him?

The voice of the spirit speaking overhead soon unveiled itself from the shadows and stepped forward belonging to a Pokémon he didn't quite recognize, the ghost spoke with such duty…Ethan wondered if it ever held a true master…the circus master perhaps, if only things were that simple...As if a lone ghost solider would know of anything that went on the outside world.

Luna his Umbreon was more than ready to take on the first opponent, a snarl of her fangs itching for a fight but a wave of her trainer’s hand blocked her as she looked up at him a hint of seriousness washed over his face.

“A Pokémon as the trainer…you’d think I’d be more surprised but…the world is vast and weirder things have happened.”

The first one would be hard pressed to take on, he didn’t need his Poryphone to explain Spiritomb had just one weakness he could exploit, up to some findings a few years ago it was unable to take any serious damage till now. That being...Fairies, fairies were a tricky type, tricker than ghosts even in some instances. He had only one that fared better but seeing as she only had an attack or two that would help it, he had to think of a different strategy than just going in blindly for a straight out attack.

Well, if that’s how they want to play it. Two can play that game.

He retrieved a Dark Sphere from his belt…oh how he remembers how much grievance this one gave him…

Stepping up to the mount, with all the wisps watching on the benches, the trainer pitched the first Pokéball watching it at it soared. It popped open revealing a dark but ghostly ghoul to appear, summersaulting out before landing on to the circus stage. It kept its head low before lifting it and revealing its Diamond encrusted eyes’.

He grinned with razor sharp teeth, it vibrated in excitement, having a bigger opponent than itself just meant that he would love to see it knocked down.

“Well Adam, you ready?”

“Sableye!”

Confuse Ray! Followed by Will-o-Wisp! Then blind them with a Dazzling Gleam!”

"Wh-what the heck is going on?!"

The idyllic scenario of this deserted island was suddenly disrupted by the weirdest weather phenomenon she'd ever seen: sure, she's been around regular thunder storms before, but never one that had set in this quickly, let alone one where it also rained giant electric orbs!

As one such enormous impossibility flew right in their direction, Haley and the gang turned tail and dashed back to the beach as quickly as they could - which was to say, Haley and Bandit ran while Slippy took a free ride and Cyan just... well, he had already waddled his way back way ahead of everyone else, as if he had somehow sensed what was about to happen.

As they desperately ran from what could perhaps be described as an electrically-charged meteor, Haley of course didn't even notice, but they were being watched. From the depths of the forest they had now ran away from, a black and white creature stared in silence, perhaps drawn there by the impending disaster. Blood-red eyes firmly locked on Haley in the distance, the Absol remained motionless while thunder roared overhead.

The team, meanwhile, reached the shore. Body arched forward, hands on her knees, Haley struggled to catch her breath.

"Bandit, Slippy, Cyan, you guys alright? What's this all about?!"

She didn't really expect an answer. Not that there was any time for chatter anyway; as soon as she turned around she saw it, the giant orb floating ominously close, electricty escaping its spherical shape. More importantly though, it seemed to draw in simultaneously the cutest and most feral creature she had ever seen.

"What are you? And why do you look so adorable and murderous at the same time?..."

She reached for her PokéDex and aimed it at the small rodent. It came to life and registered the creature, identifying it as a Pawmi.

"Pawmi, the Mouse Pokémon. The pads of its paws are electricity-discharging organs. Pawmi fires electricity from its forepaws while standing unsteadily on its hind legs."

"Awww.... oooh my god it looks super upset!"

She'd never done this before - this whole "battling" thing. That was the main reason for having come to this island! Practice for a while against wild Pokémon, maybe catch a couple of them, and return to the mainland a little less of a greenhorn. But when push came to shove, she really had no idea what she was doing, and it showed.

It was why her first reaction was to close her eyes and brace for impact in a panic. Bandit had never seen this side of her - she was always quick to give him instructions for just about anything: grabbing the morning paper, fetching a toy, rolling and sitting. So why didn't she tell him to battle?

It was then that something most unexpected happened. Cyan, of all the Pokemon, was the one to step forward, entirely on its own, despite being a Water-Type Pokemon. His eyes had a strange blue shine to them, and his arms and hands waved in the air with very deliberate motions, almost as if he was weaving an invisible cloth. Bandit and Slippy knew immediately what he was doing; Haley wouldn't have, even she'd opened her eyes, which... she hadn't.

The Psyduck prepared a protective Light Screen, hoping to keep himself and his companions safer. And if the opportunity presented itself, he would attempt to Disable Pawmi's electricty before retaliating with a Mud Bomb. But his psychic abilities were not yet developed enough to see into the near future, and as such, this remained nothing more than a hopeful plan. How the otherwise extremely-dopey looking Cyan was able to formulate it all on its own was another mystery entirely.

Despite the stakes feeling higher, it was only a fleeting moment. Feet tire fast, the soul faster. And it seems his opponent's soul was now up. Yet, even with all of that... it felt empty. He was no closer to understanding the reason he had memories of this place. Just that he had a feeling that his time here was finally done. No amount of anomalies would fix that. It was a moment truly lost in time.

Yet, it was still a valuable experience. Getting a new partner Pokemon, as well as seeing his might in battle. It was reassuring, in a sense. Even so, all he could feel was disappointment. Regardless, he took his spoils of war with him. It was something nice, for sure. Perhaps something to hold on to, until the time was right? Well, it didn't matter in the end. He returned the Sableye to its Pokeball and started to make his way back.

Lucas and William were waiting for him, across the chasm. The Raichu had a worried look, while the Litwick didn't bother much. They were able to figure out a way to get Ethan back up, and soon they all left this place behind. Yet, as they were leaving, Ethan noticed something. William was staring back at the island, a forlorn look on the candle's face. No matter. Their time here was finally over.

ooc: Claiming the rewards and levels. Thank you both to Sniz for updating most of the adventure, and to Enigma for finishing it for me. It was fun, and finally glad to get this old plot thread sort of wrapped up.

An oddity to be sure, this glacier is more than enough to sink the grandest of ships and then some, measuring just as large as any of the other islands, though the term is definitely loose here. Having at some point floated into the southwestern point of the Archipelago, the glacier seems to have halted its movement entirely, a phenomenon unknown to the scientific world. Since its discovery, some researchers have set up on its base to study this curious event, only to repeatedly end up with more questions than they have answers. From strange frozen formations on the outside to a rumored endless void within, every inch of this place teems with beauty, though it may be difficult to describe it as natural. Between these landmarks and the halted movement in the sea, many believe that this glacier was called here, destined to fill the empty slot of the circle of islands for some reason. Whether staring into the white expanse above the island, or delving into the frozen caverns below, adventures are likely to lose, or perhaps even find, a part of themselves in these slopes.

Sub Areas:
Base Camp:
A hodgepodge collection of various mobile scientific trailers, this camp makes up the homes and workplaces as the researchers here. A rare few are typically around, usually only to process whatever labs they need to run before returning to the field, desperate to discover the secrets of the so-called island.
It had been a while since he had planned a climb, especially one such as this. Instead of any normal mountain, he was now determined to climb an entire glacier. The subzero conditions would be deadly, and he wasn't comfortable with the idea of bringing most of his team with him. After all, he had managed to amass quite a few grass types since coming here. And the ice, sleet, and snow would be nothing but dangerous to them. No, he'd have to rely on what few Pokemon he had that weren't grassy in nature. Even the ghosts would be at risk, due to their grass-typing. It was much too risky.

Still, Tanner had a basic idea of the climb mapped out. He'd get to base camp, where he was now, and see if there were any specific supplies they had on hand. Then, once he started the trek, he would start at the Frozen Expanse, and make his way through Avalanche Hills, before finally scaling the Shimmering Peak. He was warned by experienced hikers to avoid the caves at all costs. The Rainbow Caverns were a death trap, designed to lure you in. And then the endless spire deep within the glacier... he shivered at the thought.

Jake was by his side, the Lycanroc seeming eager to start another climb. Tanner knew that since evolving, Jake had become a bit more... reckless. That hasn't proved to be a problem so far, but that might change in this long trek up the mountain. And unfortunately, he didn't have too much on hand to help if the Lycanroc went out of control. He had that Stonjournor he found with him as well, and additionally, the Timburr he had recently adopted. Everyone else he deemed unfit for the climb.

Tying up his hiking boots, and throwing on the parka he had, Tanner looked to look around the camp for supplies now. His bag was packed well, but anything they could spare wouldn't hurt. Especially if there were any rescue efforts or photos he could take for the researchers here. After all, he wasn't someone who hiked purely for support. If anyone was in trouble, he'd try his best to step in and assist. Even with a daunting hike looming above him, he'd still follow his heart.

Litwick I want to be a Hero

Alilatias-

Having consulted with your team, you decide the best course of action would be through the waves. Walking towards the shore, you let out your Mantine onto the water, and hop on top. Mantine surfing was considered a competitive sport in the Alola region. While you most likely wouldn't find the waves here for that, you could tell the manta ray seemed comfortable with you on top. The tide then drew you out to water, and your small sortie heads out.

You start to circle around the island, seeing the lagoon in all its glory. The emerald seas were beautiful, yet the deep, dark cobalt depths haunted you. You felt that whatever you dreamed about last night might be lurking deep within the depths. Yet, you shake it off quickly, as you hear a clicking noise. A little further out to see, you see a bright blue, almost turquoise creature letting out an interesting noise. You could tell, based on the tone, it was a call of distress. Your Mantine, as well, seems to recognize this noise. Swellow and Altaria both seem ready, and before you know it you're heading towards the noise.

As the view becomes clearer, you see a dolphin-like Pokemon, nursing an injury. You see what looks to be a shark's fin circling around the Pokemon. The creature was obviously in distress, even if it wasn't part of your main goal. You could tell your Pokemon were waiting on your orders. You could choose to leave this behind and cause it to fall prey to the shark. Or, saving it may prove beneficial.

What do you do?

KingSalomn:

Pawmi gathers up a terrifying high level of electric energy into its paws, but due to the unsteadiness of the sand or standing on its own two feet, the striking lightning that flowed from its paws missed their mark entirely, searing the leaves of a couple of palm trees over your shoulder.

Cyan doesn’t wish to waste time and begins miming a Light Screen into existence, a little late but just in time for the Pawmi’s second attempt of the flowing static electric Shock of Thunder that gets thrown your way, this time the light barrier in the form of light screen wall your duck had created lowering the power of the attack by a third. Your Cyan still takes the blunt of the move however.

Before long your Cyan taps into its psych prowess, a blue hint of light washing over its eyes as it waves its webbed hand and casts an aura of blue light that surrounds Pawmi. The disableing move, causing the electric rodent to feel a woozy mind numbing déjŕ vu that causes it to completely forget something it once thought was important… It’s earlier move, Thundershock has been completely forgotten.

Maybe it was due to that feeling that it began frantically digging among the sand, but what your duck had in mind would prevent it from escaping so easily. Concentrating on its next attack, Cyan managed to gather a Mudbomb in front of its bill, before lobbing at its foe which disrupted it from its earlier Dig!

The wave of the splash of the muddy water causing the electric rodent to get thrown back enough to smack the back of the Pawmi’s head against the electric rock. For a brief moment you think it’s over, but the contact to the rock only super charges Pawmi even more, however the squeaks it produce almost seem agonizing.

Pawmi’s body flares up with an overwhelming aura before it continues to dig and disappears out of sight. That’s when you notice a small crack on the surface of the mystic rock that was spewing with static electricity. The power harnessed inside seems to become a bit unstable.

But before you figure out your next action, your Psyduck is quick to the uptake and whether it was forewarning, it was able to locate where the electric rodent was set to pop out of, though it used the momentum to launch itself in an electric form of a Wild Charge aimed at you, Cyan was able to move fast enough to intervene though taking the attack head on! Pawmi recoils from its own attack but seemed set on another head on attack with no concern for its well being.

Your Psyduck stampers back and despite its clear disadvantage here, it presses on. Though to make matters worse the air around you somehow seems to become thin, wind is still howling which might be cause for the ocean's sea having begun to swirl into harsh whirlpools, not that you were probably thinking of escaping that way anyhow. But maybe now wasn’t the time to think of that, no, the question you should be asking yourself now was how were you going to combat your foe next?
