In retrospect, tasking a large, heavy, tough and spiky creature to crawl across the ocean floor in search of shiny objects wasn't the wisest task imaginable. Yet as he watched the Ferrothorn gingerly excavate and collect, he had pretty much decided that taking the pokemon along would go well. It was resilient, sturdy, didn't move too much, and quite capable, and ultimately lacked a definitive spine due to its physical appearance. Good enough for him.

And so as the Thorn pod emerged from the drink, and Rory accepted the five tokens - one seemingly deducted for terrain damage - he nodded to the steel type as he watched the sun continue to slink down, a slightly wistful look on his face.

"Summer's coming to an end, and it'll be autumn soon...which means exams and stuff. Gee, it just flew by..."

Mayhaps it's the lifestyle of a shipsmon, or the atmosphere of persistent death that made me what I am, but wouldn't trade it for anything."

"Interesting. To think that other worlds exist and thrive as such...I do have my belief in the story you tell," the Kingdra mused, "but this would explain the apprehension he feels towards myself. While I am not the one who separated him from his cherished one, the world you speak of sounds like hell."

Amaro nodded. "Aye, hell would be apt for it. But onto a somewhat differing tangent...the chief would want to give you new names to familiarise himself with you all, and would want to learn of the world he's on now. Any suggestions?"

The Darmanitan smiled, before nodding sagely. "My name remains as such, a pillar of distant faith, of justice and power. I would prefer to keep it as such, such as the Fates deigned to christen me. The others, conversely, feel a new identity would be fitting. For our colossus, the name of Shih sounds befitting," she offered, the Tyranitar giving an approving grunt.

"Our infiltrator and mischief maker appears partial to the word Crow, and what name serves a bringer of waves more than Wake? It would also be prudent for our newfound friends to receive new monickers to shed their shackles. Our Ampharos companion wishes to be called Elmo, seemingly for a phenomenom atop masts, while our hybrid creation on debate with themselves fancies Pounder, for reasons that are their own."

"Then these would be ideal. Come the rise of dawn, it would be my honour if you may lead the chief to amenities for education and experience," the Furfrou yawned as he lay down, ready to rest and recuperate.

"If I may ask one more question, then? What name does the chief in subject go by?" Gebura responded, hunkering down before the moon in the sky as she got into a comfortable position.

Amaro gave a small, quiet chuckle. "My apologies, m'lady. The records have him down as Erkyve Ilgarudos, though his companions call him, simply, Kyve."
