It was Fred who lunged, Fred who barreled into Slowpoke... and it was ultimately Fred who landed the finishing blow. "YES!" Keith cheered as the Dynamax Energy flooded out of Slowpoke, shrinking it right back down to size. "Fred, that was awesome!" he grinned. "Boy, you really know your stuff out there," he smiled.

"Curchin curchin!" smiled Fred as Keith picked him up (very carefully). "Piiiiiiincurchin!"

"And George is gonna love hearing all about this, too," Keith smiled. "A shame I couldn't use the both of you here, I know you two are inseparable normally."

"Pincurch," Fred nodded understandingly.

"Well, she'll have her chance," Keith assured the Electric-type. "For now, let's go home. I'm sure everyone was watching this on TV, let's not deprive them the opportunity to congratulate you, shall we?"

"Piiiiincurchin!" agreed Fred. Before they could walk off, however, they heard the Gym Leader, who appeared to have recovered... somewhat.

Keith exchanged looks with Meowth. "Saxophone?" said Keith.

"Yer waitress?" replied Meowth.

"Merry Christmas?" the two said simultaneously.

"Curchin?" added Fred, sounding just as bewildered.

After a moment of silence, Keith, Meowth, and Fred all burst into laughter all at once, a hearty bout of laughter that lasted most of the way home. There, they were welcomed back, told exactly how awesome the battle looked on TV, told of how much more Eddie now had to look into regarding the suspected link between Dynamax and cryptopokology, and also told of the humorous interactions between Willa and Gavin concerning the latter's language, resulting in even more laughter. All in all, it was a good day for all involved.

Emp’s heart leaped into his throat as the gargantuan Tail swept across the dishevelled library, stacks of old texts spewing from bookshelves in an Aquatic explosion. The Corsola’s efforts to siphon back her health were quickly dashed as the swing hit its mark, completely crushing her in the process. The weight of the watery appendage seemed enough to end her all over again; while the sacrifice gave her allies the opening needed to quell the dim beast, nothing seemed to matter more in that moment than Daria’s safety. With the barrage of shrubbery and sparks enough to return the foe to regular size, the trainer took no time scrambling into the wreckage. In a complete state of panic he waded through sodden piles of books, overturning splintered furniture and turning up nothing. Then an oddly familiar voice called out from behind, or more like within.

‘Death isn’t so bad the second time…’ Daria mused, the thoughts rattling around her hollow shell made aloud as her Psychic powers became realised. Following the nonchalant voice to its source, who had seemingly manifested from nowhere, it appeared it wouldn’t take the gnarly cnidarian long to bounce back from defeat. The trainer rubbed his head in a sort of nervous relief as the bleached ball returned to her stack of reading: The Science of Global Warming, The Imperilled Ocean and This is Not a Drill among the texts she had carefully picked out. While the raid had provided some light entertainment, it was a greater purpose that had brought Daria to Evenfall Academy. She would learn more about the devastation plaguing her species, so that she may one day get her revenge on its maker...

Zak and the recovering Spunky watched on as the remaining raiders attempted to take down the Dynamaxed Slowpoke once and for all. First up was the Alolan Exeggutor who slammed down another boosted Power Whip to deliver a stinging blow to the Dopey Pokémon. The final blow to its hitpoints came from the Pincurchin, though, the spiky urchin releasing a Spark of electricity to zap the Water type. As this attack made contact, the Dynamax energy that had lent its mysterious powers to the Slowpoke started to leave its system in an instant and the now-normal sized mammal slunk off to lick its wounds elsewhere.

"Great work, Spunky, that's another successful raid under your belt!" Zak smiled and opened his arms to offer the tiny EleFish a congratulatory hug. The Electric type was quick to oblige, zipping into his trainers arms and vibrating happily with static energy.

With the threat to Evenfall Academy vanquished, the man fired his signature thumbs up to each of his fellow raiders, their faces looking much more familiar now that the Slowpoke threat had been handled and promptly left the gymnasium. Free from the befuddlement, it became clear that he'd been battling alongside some of his oldest Fizzytopian friends and not even realised; a fact which caused the man to blush even though he was sure he wasn't alone in his confusion. It seemed as if the Gym Leader Hugo had felt the brunt of the Slowpoke's strange powers, still talking in riddles as he handed out rewards to each of the raiding pairs.

"Thanks for this, man! Hope Santa Claus brings you everything you asked for!" Zak couldn't resist the joke as he accepted his and the Tynamo's prizes. Hopefully the man would find himself returning back to normal soon but at least he was amongst the learned if he needed a little extra attention.

- Collecting 40 Watts, TR Psychic, 2 Pasho Berries and a Payapa Berry
