Large mounds of earth here and there were a sure sign that another pokemon migration was on call, and with that there was the certainty that the dormant Power Spot would surely erupt and empower one of the unfortunate pokemon once more, sending them into a panic. As it was, the tectonic scans indicated the species and a cursory notification revealed there was no evolutionary forms in the herd passing through, but better safe than sorry, yes?
However, the Manager had more concerns at hand judging by the recent shakeup, with several gyms suddenly collapsing as their power spots went into meltfown and discharged their entire energy contents, resulting in said spots becoming toxic craters. Loch Bygone would not suffer that fate, even as the earth trembled beneath them. One of the pokemon in the herd popped out of the ground with a squeak, likely looking to check their surroundings before immediately popping back underground and carrying on their merry way, guiding the group as it were, and it would only be a matter of time before one of the moles caught the power spot's brimming energy. [Raid boss imminent, subject likely to be classic Diglett, three star threat. Supression squad of eight recommended to ensure the spot does not overwhelm others.] AFTER May 31st, at 10:00 PM UST, sign ups will open. Be sure to include your pokemon's level and moves, as well as any items you wish to hold. Signups will remain open until June 7th or all slots are filled, at which point the battle will commence 48 hours after confirmation. |

It was an all-too-familiar group making their way towards the Loch Bygone Pokémon Gym. Three Pokémon Trainers- a married couple and their daughter- accompanied by a pair of Pokémon. One of them was the Meowth ever-present on Keith's shoulder, showing little inclination to get involved in any battling at the moment, clearly just there to watch. In stark contrast, the other, a seemingly sentient Casteliacone, zipped around here and there, leaving a trail of snowflakes in his wake, the Ice-type barely able to contain his excitement.
"Well, it sure seems like things are getting back to normal," said Keith Masters. "Another month, another round of reports of wild Dynamaxed Pokémon." "Indeed," nodded his wife, Willa. "Though I'm not sure how normal we can call things. Those Gym Leaders... they were never found, were they?" Keith gave a heavy sigh. "Not that I've heard," he replied. "And even their Gyms seem to have been shut down, Power Spots and all, somehow. "Yeah, it's sad," nodded their daughter, Maribel. "I hope they're found, alive and well. But in the meantime, Mom, you and Vanillite got a Diglett to deal with, so let's move!" she added. "After all the training you and Vanillite have been doing, this is gonna be an awesome battle to watch!" Willa managed a small smile. "Right you are, sweetie," she agreed. "I must admit, I'm pretty excited for this myself." "Same here," Keith grinned. "I'm just about as excited for this as you and Vanillite are!" "Yeah, let's get movin' already," Meowth piped up. "Before da livin' Casteliacone here yaps my ears off about how he's gonna freeze dat- GAAAH!" he exclaimed as Vanillite, displeased with Meowth's snark, blasted him with a Firestream! "Wat was dat for?!" Meowth screeched. "Van vanill vanill!" Vanillite shot back. "Vanil, Vanillite!" Meowth groaned exasperatedly. "...evidently Vanillite don't like bein' compared ta ice cream," he grumbled. "Sorry, sorry. It'll hardly eva happen agai- GAAAH OK IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN!!" he yowled, hastily amending his words as Vanillite launched another Firestream. "Alright, Vanillite, that's enough now," Willa stated sternly. "We've got more pressing matters at hand right now, do we not?" "...nillite," conceded Vanillite, floating away from Meowth while Keith made valiant efforts to hold back amused laughter as he worked on tending to Meowth's (mercifully minor) wounds. Willa gave a nod. "There's no sense in using up your energy before you even begin battling, after all," she said. "And while I agree that there's no need to compare you to ice cream, I nevertheless think you overreacted somewhat, and would like you to apologize to Meowth later." She got no verbal response, but saw Vanillite roll his eyes and nod slightly. She'd take that for now. Vanillite was still more than a bit of a handful, but they were making progress, slowly but surely. One thing was certain, at the very least- with the excitement Vanillite had shown thus far, and indeed was already showing once again... that Diglett wouldn't know what hit it. OOC: Willa Masters will be entering this raid alongside Vanillite. Vanillite's stats are as follows; Quote:

"Well...it seems the jig may very well be up, Codex."
The deep tone of the Manager rumbled outside the shack as the media circus arrived, their whirlybirds and Corviknights circling the dry lakebed like vultures, eyes peering at the recent discovery as the mechanical figure lumbered forward slowly, glaring up at the moths as their mind already started envisioning the headlines, as vehicles and pokemon began to arrive on foot. The Galarian Slowking watched with mild disgust, as did the Probopass who was doing a tremendous job of keeping the copters at bay with several fending power gems, but as the machine stared down at the focus of the hubbub, and despite the state of said focus, there was one very clear outcome that was doubtless being televised across half the Arceus-damned region. Loch Bygone's absent gym leader, Alex Blackhall, had been found dead. The reporters wouldn't care much about the fact that paradoxically the corpse had lain in the mud for several decades, and the eventual autopsy would discern that one too. No, all they cared about was the scoop. It always was about the scoop. In fact, one cheeky git, so intent on digging as much dirt about the bones uncovered by last month's raid had went so far as to try and force their way in with their own brute of a pokemon, via the strictly off-limits Power Spot, and it was very quickly apparent that the ignorance of said warnings would result in that idiot's career being abruptly ended in a tirade of wrath by the network execs. Execs who likely didn't care much about the fact that Alex's pokemon were swiftly on their way back to the Loch, nor the fact that said trainer was even a mark on the reaper's list, but of the clout they'd get covering this tale, so soon after the recent upheaval. As said fool's pokemon grew and the skies darkened, the Manager glared once more through their single oculus, before lifting a device and with their auxiliary limb began to send the message. [Raid Boss Swampert requires subjugation. Subject trained, rank four threat level, requesting four to suppress. Bonus points for any reporters shot down mid-fight.] Yes, there was bound to be controversy, heck some may even accuse the machine of the state the unfortunate soul was in, but the truth would emerge eventually, despite the skeptics. After all, there was considerable proof that however Alex ended up like this, that big old Primal Dialga likely had a claw in this. Regardless of the situation, the pair were all but outed as existing, and even more crazies would likely start flocking to this disaster site, even as the whirring of rotor blades only intensified and a vulture cursed as Agent landed a perfect shot at a camera. That was gonna cost a few fingers. AFTER 30th June, at 10:00 UTC signups will open. Please reply with your pokemon's stats, including movepool and level, as well as any held items you are bringing. Signups will close on July 7th or when full, after which the battle will begin 48 hours from then. |

Some days in Fizzytopia are days like any other. Ordinary, frankly boring, with really nothing going on to distinguish them from other similarly mundane days. This... this was not one such day. It had started out like one, true enough, but right now, as Keith, Willa, and Maribel Masters sat in their living room, watching TV, the documentary on ancient Romma they had been watching was suddenly and abruptly interrupted for a breaking news story. Said documentary was kind of a favorite of Keith's, as it went over events in the past that he himself had set in motion during that one time he'd been sent back to ancient Romma, and so he was understandably annoyed that this had been interrupted without warning.
That is, of course, until he learned just why the usual programming had been interrupted. That nugget of information drained any and all annoyance out of his head in a heartbeat, but the replacement emotion was... not all that much more welcome. "No!" Keith found himself practically shouting at the TV. "That... That's not... That can't... Wh-what?!" Willa simply sat there, mouth slightly agape. "Alex is dead?" she repeated incredulously. "How...?" "I don't know," Keith stated, standing up. "But all I know is, we've got to get down there, and fast- look!" he added, gesturing to the TV. Maribel gave a small gasp. "That Swampert's Dynamaxing!" she said, watching as the Water/Ground-type grew to tremendous sizes, bombarded with Dynamax Energy from the Power Spot. The fact that it had a Trainer meant nothing right now- Pokémon subjected to that much raw Dynamax Energy seldom stopped to listen to such things as orders. Dynamax Bands were crucial to ensure that Dynamaxing was done in a more controlled fashion, hence it only lasting a short while when done by a Trainer. "It seems someone's used their Swampert to try and force their way in," frowned Willa, an Ultra Ball in hand. "I'll see how they like Flapple," she stated grimly. "Perfect type matchup for this sort of thing." "I'm coming, too," Maribel stated. Keith and Willa exchanged looks at this, and shrugged- they were in too much of a hurry to argue with this. Maribel had never met Alex, but her parents had told her of him a few times, Keith in particular, as he'd known Alex for longer than Willa had. At that moment, Flapple burst out of the Ultra Ball in his Trainer's hand. "Flap! Flapple!" he declared, flapping his apple wings and circling Willa's head. Willa nodded. "You heard everything, then?" she inquired. "Then let's go. Keith, what are you doing?" she added to her husband, who was dialing a number in his PokéGear. "Calling Diana and Marv," Keith stated. "There seems to be a distinctly anti-media atmosphere there, so I'm warning them to steer clear of this one." Willa nodded. "Good thinking," she agreed. With that said, she strode over to the front doors and threw them open, heading out at a quick pace, her husband and daughter not far behind, Flapple flapping overhead; the Apple Wing Pokémon was just itching for a good battle, and knew this Swampert would surely provide. OOC: Willa Masters will be entering with Flapple. Flapple's stats are as follows; Quote:

The joyful cries of Pokemon and the chatter of humans merged into one melodic symphony to provide the perfect backdrop sound for this relaxing day. The scents of flowers and plants in Amity Gardens were accentuated by the rainfall from the day before. Argyle was chilling on a bench amidst the greenery that provided an escape from the hustle & bustle that was New Fizz City. His Rowlet was perched up on a tree branch overlooking the branch. It had been quite a bit since Argyle had taken some time off of adventuring and battling to just relax. He needed it after participating in that raid with the Digletts. It was an exhausting experience, yet he had enjoyed it at the same time.
Argyle had his Pokedex out. It didn't just serve as a Pokedex but also as an electronic reader of sorts. The wonders of technology! He was reading a fantasy novel where people could bond with sprites of sorts and that bond allowed sprites to take on the form of swords - among other things. He was just about getting to the good part where the main character was rushing into to save someone from sure death inside a coliseum when... "Diiing" his Pokedex beeped and a banner followed interrupting his reading. The... wonders... of technology? "Breaking News: Loch Bygone Gym Leader Found Dead" it read. He instinctively clicked it. It wasn't that long ago when Argyle had helped the Loch Bygone Gym with a trio of Digletts. Still new to the area, Argyle hadn't really figured if anything was off at all that time. So, this news came as a shock. Dead... the gym leader is dead. Argyle didn't know the leader - how could he after all he was dead for some time apparently, but he still needed a moment to process it. Concepts of life and death always pushed him into a more philosophical and existential place. He partially enjoyed it and partially dreaded that state of mind. "Diiing!" This time his Pokedex provided a much needed distraction with that interruption. "Raid Boss Swampert requires subjugation..." the banner read. All Argyle could do now was heed the call and hope that his efforts would let the deceased rest in peace. Though Argyle wasn't planning on shooting down any media members... that was just too harsh for him. Still, he understood the frustration with the sensationalizing of everything these days. No feeling just selfish thoughts about one's own ends. In this case that'd be ratings and clicks. Anyway, there was no time to lose. "Hey Wisewoods, looks like we're heading back to the Loch." Wisewoods tilted his head inquisitively. "Long story but the gym leader's been found dead and the media circus has triggered a Pokemon to dynamax. We're going to provide our help and let that soul rest in peace. Like we did in Remembrance Park." Wisewoods looked down. He understood the gravity of the situation. As he flew down, he began to glow in a blue light. What emerged was a Dartrix. Life and death. The juxtaposition of the two could not be clearer. A young Rowlet growing into his own and evolving into a Dartrix full of life only to rush to the aid of someone who no longer presided in this world. Argyle nodded, "thank you Wisewoods." Nothing else would've been right to say. We did not choose under which circumstances moments like this happened. All we could do is act accordingly. So, Argyle would cherish his friend for showing his resolve by evolving in this moment and face the Swampert in a solemn yet resolute manner himself. ---- OOC: Signing up my now evolved Dartrix to this raid Spoiler: show Last edited by grassyglide; 07-01-2021 at 07:09 PM. The lake had lain dormant for a few months now, congested by mounds of red tape that some of the region's veteran trainers recoiled at, with the level even the original Elite would turn their noses up at. But such was the nature of a handover and discussion amidst the league, and the eventual outcome of the Manager's takeover being officially verified. Alex had been long since inhumed, his tomb overlooking the Power Spot, and for the most part his former companions had gotten used to their new owner, for their many, many quirks.
Fortunately they were experienced, and during the downtime had settled a couple of sudden flare-ups at the spot without a requirement for an alert. The news then that the gyms were reopening gave much joy to trainers, and the mech knew that soon raiders would return to the field to do battle against whatever had strayed too close to the spot. Speaking of which, as the gleam of light reflected off the polished surface that was rapidly growing, it was perhaps time for things to return to some normalcy. [Raid boss imminent, subject identified as Bronzor, three star threat. Suppression squad of four called to arms to avoid disruption of relative peace.] AFTER September 30th, at 10:00 PM UST, sign ups will open. Be sure to include your pokemon's level and moves, as well as any items you wish to hold. "Apologies, but the Manager is currently out on business, if you could kindly leave your de-"
The line went dead as another person phoning about the Blackhall incident clearly gave up at trying to get through. Since the human's demise and funeral, a surprisingly large number of nobodies began getting into contact speaking about a will of some sort, very likely some scrupulous sorts, and despite the takeover the calls had only been rising in numbers. The Codex, for all their patience, was starting to get mildly irritated, and hovered outside to check the lake's status, given the wet season was due to arrive in a matter of weeks. The sight of swirling sand and a massive tornado of the silicate substance certainly was something unusual, and a little concerning to the machine, but it was the terrible roar from within that really sealed the deal. As the Codex went to relay the message, their ocular scanner could spot a young man fleeing the scene in abject terror, not out of concern for safety but seemingly primal fear, and as a shape appeared within the storm, the subject was identified, something that could very well cause irreversible damage to the ecosystem if not dealt with. [Gigantamax Sandaconda detected at Loch Bygone, five star threat level. Requesting full team of eight to suppress its destructive urges before ecological damage is done.] AFTER October 31st, at 10:00 pm UTC raid signups will open. Please reply with your pokemon, stating their level, moveset and any held items you wish to use. When, exactly, did the alert go out regarding the Gigantamaxed Sandaconda at the Loch Bygone Pokémon Gym? Well, one thing is for sure- it absolutely wasn't the same day when the alert went out about the Dynamaxed Phantump at the Slumbering Wilds Pokémon Gym. And why, you might dare to ask? Well, for starters, Keith Masters had taken (or would take?) part in the raid battle against that Phantump, alongside his Normal Form Ponyta, Sunfire, and today, he was headed to Loch Bygone to take part in this raid battle as well. Furthermore, his wife, Willa Masters, had been (or would be?) busy training with her Mienfoo on the day of the Phantump raid, and yet today, she was perfectly fine to accompany her loving husband. Their daughter, Maribel, couldn't make it on either occasion, but that was fine- the family didn't necessarily do absolutely everything together. Sometimes they did, but sometimes they each had their own thing to do, and there wasn't anything wrong with that.
Now, I know what you're thinking- the Ditto, right? Or the Seviper cursed to take the form of a Zangoose? Well, no. Neither of them were posing as Keith. Jack, the Ditto, had already done that once when he took Bart to take on a Gigantamax Lapras, while Keith had taken his Pincurchin to take down a Dynamaxed Normal Form Slowpoke. In fact, since the Slowpoke raid didn't last nearly as long as the Gigantamax Lapras raid, Keith was able to sail on over and join his Ditto for what is considered by all who saw it to be a very memorable experience. And as for Visha... she was still getting the hang of her Transform move. There was absolutely no chance of her convincingly taking the place of her Trainer. And besides which, even if either of them had gone in Keith's stead, it still wouldn't have ended well. And why? "Because Hedwig only obeys me, you know that, dear," Keith was saying to his wife as they drew nearer to the Loch Bygone Pokémon Gym. "Indeed," sighed Willa. "I will admit, it is a bit vexing," she confessed. "Ten years we've been married, and your Crobat won't even take orders from me." "Hey, c'mon, don't beat yourself up over this," Keith said gently, squeezing his wife's hand. "This ain't on you. It's just how Hedwig is. She won't take orders from Meowth, not from Helena, not even from Ginny. It's like trying to get a Seviper to not hate the Zangoose species- totally unrealistic goal, and you'd just be setting yourself up for disappointment." "Fer wat it's worth," chimed in the Meowth on Keith's shoulder, "I ain't got no problems takin' orders from eitha one o' youse." "I suppose you're right," Willa conceded. "I don't know. I just... I thought it might be fun if we commanded each other's Pokémon from time to time," she shrugged. "Oh, I'm all for that sometime," Keith smiled. "Just... Hedwig is the exception, is all. Y'know, she wasn't even all that keen on humans in general at first." "Indeed?" Willa said, interested. "I don't believe you've ever told me that story." "Really?" Keith replied, sounding mildly surprised. "Well, then, seems like we've got something to talk about while the fight's going down, then." And with his free hand (for he was still holding Willa's hand as they walked), he plucked a Poké Ball off his belt and enlarged it, prepared for the battle to come. OOC: Keith Masters will be entering this raid with Hedwig the Crobat, and also comes packing his wife's Icium Z. Hedwig's stats are as follows; Quote:
