Roggenrola Inquiries & Rulings

This is no longer suggestions and inquiries and we are not taking suggestions in this thread anymore. For the time being, please PM suggestions to an LO.

Monolith Badge
Attachable Badge
The Monolith Badge is awarded to those who best the very stones beneath their feet and the leader of the Rock Gym, Haymez. The badge is composed of diamond, cut in such a way as to catch light and appear to glow. This round cut mineral imbues the wearer with tremendous resistance, enabling them to face their biggest weakness without fear.
Badge Effect: Rock Solid
When attached to a Pokemon this badge hardens their resistance, enabling them to face their greatest weaknesses with solid determination. Any double weaknesses naturally held by the bearer will be reduced to single weaknesses while this badge is attached. This does not affect weaknesses unnaturally obtained through sigs or other effects, only those given by the bearer's natural typing.

Monolith badge: Does it protect against Freeze Dry's 3x damage against water/ground water/grass, et all? I feel it should, otherwise it hampers the water gym given that freeze dry was something introduced after the badge? I'm not too sure, it was before my time.

Another question about the same scenario. The badge was written from the perspective of holder, and not the opponent. Would the badge protect the holder in the case of some potential 3x attacks that are floating around if it matches the natural typing of the bearer?

I think it would prevent the x3 from Freeze-Dry. For these purposes, it is a "natural" x3, even if it's not listed on typical charts. I would imagine that it would protect against all potential x3s, including situations created by sigs not held by the holder.

Tombstone Badge
Attachable Badge
This badge is a skull-shaped headstone, and represents the power of grudges that the dead hold and their dedication they have in carrying them out. When the Pokemon attached with this badge reaches the second third in health, a sudden grudge will force itself out of the badge, inflicting a damaging status that does a mild amount of damage a round. This status is impossible to heal, and if the opponent tries to switch it, the hex will intensify and will deal moderate damage each turn they are in the Pokeball.

Does that mean that refresh and heal bell also cannot heal it?
Edit: it doesnt have a damage cap. Should it? I find it inherently broken if neither are considered for future matches.
Edit Edit: Not asking for it to affect current matches.

Probably doing something wrong but:

Would Aqua Ring be nullified if the user switches out? Upon switching back in, that is.

>Badge

I do not remember ever seeing that badge but we should probably scrap it.

I'm just going to go against the language and say you can heal it with Heal Bell and Refresh and that it caps at significant.

>Aqua Ring

Eh, let it stay when you switch out.

Without the impossible to remove thing the badge kinda becomes pointless. I don't see the problem

Well honestly my biggest problem is that it does damage in the Poké Ball which is just kind of a bad thing in general but I made my bed there so.

To be clear, pointing out that I have missed an important detail does not count as an appeal.

Then he can do what we allowed in previous cases and allow him to pick up another historic badge.

ON that note, are there plans to add badges of recent gyms which have since closed? Like Snorby's badge, Cursed mask, other badges of closed gyms that aren't on the current list?

So, uh, as I'm going to have to ref if here in the very near future, are we still going with the "Tombstone Badge does damage in the ball" thing?

You could just have your battlers not be idiots and agree that since it's the first round re-squadding and reorders can be made since the badge doesn't exist.

Just a suggestion.

Just a short question that came up: How does Blizzard interact with Ghost states?

Boosts and Drops - Moves that raise or lower statistics in the ASB function somewhat differently from the games. Most moves raise or lower attack or defense one or more "stages"; each stage corresponds to a roughly 10% increase or decrease in the power of moves or the resistance to attacks. Multiple uses of boosting moves that affect the same stat will cause the boost to be considerably less when over two stages, rising at most to 25%. Boosts will fade over time, taking roughly 3 rounds for a stat to fall or rise from one stage to normal. This means that higher-level stat gains or drops will take longer to fade than lower-level modifications. Non-standard boost/drop moves like Belly Drum or Memento, which drastically change a stat, may not be affected by these rules in the same way. Boost in offensive stats cause increased use in general energy (5% per every 10% increase) but not Type energy, nor do they contribute to short-term exhaustion. Boosts in defensive stats cause a drop in overall speed and movement ability for their duration, but preserve reaction time. Alterations in speed change not only overall movement speed, but also affect reaction time, making it more or less difficult for the affected Pokémon to evade attacks or react to their environment.

Bulk Up (FT) -- The user toughens up, using good energy, focusing energy on boosting the power of physical attacks, and they are able to take physical punishment slightly better. The increases are less than Curse, but there is not a significant loss of speed.

Geomancy (FA) - Using significant energy, the user taps into the essence of nature itself, pulling pure energy into its body in a ring of colorful lights. This sharply raises its Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed at the beginning of the next round.

Acupressure (NO) -- The user jabs itself in a sensitive spot with an appendage, using good energy while unlocking one of the following stats, causing (at random) either Speed, Defense, Special Defense, Special Attack or Attack to rise significantly.

Belly Drum (NO) -- Using mild initial energy, the user slams its fists into its belly, mentally psyching itself up for battle. The user reaches a sort of battle frenzy, totally ignoring all defense in favor of crushing the opponent with highly-buffed attacks. This is the strongest attack buff in the game, but the user cannot even attempt to dodge or reduce damage from enemy attacks. Also, the user will consume energy at a more rapid pace due to the frenzy, and is more likely to miss with its physical blows

Slightly ~ 10%
Sharply ~ 20%
Significantly ~ ???
Highly ~ 25% (Max buff obtainable via the above definition)

So what is the ballpark range for significantly?

So if Significantly is two stages, what are Slightly and Sharply?

In the context of these moves, DT is correct.
