UPN PASBL: Rotomotorz vs Machamp-X

Taken with permission from both sides.

No RP'ing for this one, let's just chill out and have a nice game of kill eachothers animals.

Cool. Let's go with this then.

Quote:
Town Square: Battles here take place amidst an expansive, albeit abandoned, Town Square. The cobbled flooring provides more than ample footing for any battling within the arena, but will prevent attacks such as Earthquake or Stealth Rock. The exits to the Town Square have been blocked off to stop the battling from spilling out into the outer areas of Town. Scenic furniture from local cafes litter the arena, and in the center of the Square there is a sizable fountain, large enough for most aquatic Pokemon to reside in with somewhat restricted movement. As always, within reason, if one of the batters mentions positioning of an object, the battler is considered to be correct unless it contradicts a previous statement. This arena is outdoors only.
Without further ado, let's get the battle underway!

Squad from Roto please.

One day, however, one lone programmer took Internet for himself, bringing him into his own basement. Legs, lets hit it. Lead with a Meteor Mash, timed to break through an attack if possible, and let the momentum carry you into the fountain. if they try approach, give them a Scary Face, but otherwise Flash Cannon. Try not to leave the fountain if possible

Take Meteor Mash, then, as you gain height, create a Good Substitute close to Metang, making it close in to Metang to trigger Scary Face on the sub. Shadow Ball.

Round 1: All guns blazing

Our two pokemon to start us off have been revealed! From the side of Machamp, a Clefable by the name of Aeria! And from the side of Roto, a seemingly strong counter, Legs the Metang! Both of these pokemon have the ability to float above the terrain, but Aeria's floating ability is much more versatile than Legs'. We'll have to see how this comes into play in the battle. Legs' other redeeming feature is that he is inorganic, being resistant to toxins and spores and the like since he has no need to breathe.

Now that that's out of the way, let's get the match underway!

Legs makes the first move of the battle, hurtling towards Aeria as the Clefable floats up into the air. Legs alters his trajectory to pummel Aeria with a devastating Meteor Mash, landing a powerful super effective blow already. Aeria winces from the damage, but she regains her focus quickly, as Legs circles around to land in the fountain of water, submersing. His claws glisten in the sun as they carry the residual steel energy from his attack, bolstering his attack power for future physical attacks. Aeria doesn't seem to mind her foe hiding away, as she creates a convicing Substitute by sacrificing her health, as she finds somewhere to hide herself. As Aeria leaves, the substitute draws attention to itself, Legs focusing his attention on it and ignoring the fleeing Clefable. This is about the most sensical way of describing substitute as the move is really stupid, but I'm no LO so whatever. Anyway, Legs watches for any signs of aggression from Aeria, planning his next move to react to her. As Legs suspects, she flies towards him, looking all pink and menacing. Legs pops out of the water in order to keep her at bay with his Scary Face, but the susbtitute Aeria is unfazed, and stops in the end to ready her next attack whilst she is close. A ball of Ghost energy swirls in front of her and launches at Legs' exposed face, the Shadow Ball dealing a good chunk of super effective damage and causing a small explosion of smoke, water, and ghostly wind. Legs retreats back into the fountain once again, as Aeria chuckles to herself from afar.

What a way to kick things off! Both pokemon took pretty strong super effective blows, with Aeria losing more health (mostly because of the substitute) and slightly more energy overall. Clefable has a substitute up whilst Metang has a boost to his attack from the Meteor Mash. Both are still pretty fresh out of the ball so no breaks needed.

Mach to order please.

Round 2: That's gotta hurt

Seems like when none of my matches are moving all I have left to do is ref...

Aeria, having been successful in tricking her foe with her doppelganger, immediately goes back on the offensive. She charges up a 3 pronged spiral of energy, forming a triangle as the energy reaches its peak charge. Legs readies himself as the Tri-Attack soars towards his watery fortress. Due to the complicated nature of substitute, the attack doesn't arrive from the close distance that Aeria appears to be at. Thus Legs has ample time to prepare himself for his counter-attack. He erupts from the water, his Metal Claw charged and ready, cleaving through the Tri-Attack and raking downwards against the substitutes face. Unfortunately for Aeria, the secondary effect of Tri-Attack doesn't give her any consolation prize this time.

The substitute fades in a cloud of white smoke, as the real Aeria realises that the jig is up. Legs looks around, trying to locate the real enemy, remaining close to the fountain as he scans. He is startled by the sound of building energy, as Aeria is spotted in the air near one of the houses. As Metang reacts, he is greeted with another Tri-Attack, this one hitting him straight on the body. He goes to retaliate, but notices something is wrong. One of his eyes has been Frozen over, with a chunk of ice weighing him down slightly and impairing his left-eye slightly. Luckily, this hasn't frozen over his arm or arm-joint, as he launches himself forward for another Meteor Mash. Thanks to the ice weighing him down and the slight impairing of his vision, Aeria is able to move out of the way a little, but still takes the brunt of the blow. The attack knocks her back, almost causing her to land from the attack, but she regains her focus and locks eyes with her foe. The chunk of ice seems to have shattered from the force somewhat, but it remains over his left eye

Eventful round. Aeria really took a beating this round, eating a large super effective blow and dropping well into the second third of health. Legs didn't get off too lightly however, and he's just dipped into the second third now. Energy usage from both sides was pretty high but they're both still fairly fresh, so both are good for two moves. Legs has a reduced chunk of ice covering his left eye.

Roto to order please.

Just wanted to ask how Metang isn't in the second third despite the uplevel (and maybe Evo boost) and the fact Steel doesn't resist special Normal.

I won't give you exact measurements because I think it's bad practice, but they're relatively close. Bare in mind Aeria has elevation, although she's only a bit higher up than Legs at this point.

And actually that's because I messed up and assumed that using Metal Claw would stop the damage taken from Tri-Attack, which I now assume it doesn't after reading the Steel-type species characteristic closer. Edits will be made.

Float over to the outdoor seating of the nearby cafe and whip up a Sandstorm, picking up chairs, tables, and umbrellas as you do so. Stay hidden within the storm as you shoot them with a Flash Cannon

Flamethrower while it moves towards the cafe. Flamethrower again since there's no sand to pick up.

Round 3: Mm yeah thats some good typespam right there

With Legs looking smug about himself for that high damage round, he decides it best to reposition himself, floating over to a nearby cafe. Aeria follows right on his tail, as he slams on the breaks over an outdoor seating area. As he notices Aeria coming towards him, he rapidly starts to spin on the spot, attempting to whip up a Sandstorm over the seating area. Whilst there is no immediate sand in the arena, the abandoned town square is littered with stones, loose change and crisp packets, swirling around Legs as the winds start to pick up around him. Aeria gets in whilst she can, not really taking damage from the light, swirling debris, blasting Legs with a Flamethrower whilst she can. Legs is hit square in the noggin with the attack, melting the ice off of his face, throwing him off of his concentration and halting his spinning. The winds simmer slightly as Legs keeps to the center of them, although he's not hidden like his trainer would've wanted him to be. He gets his bearings, readying up a bubble of energy in front of him. Being fairly close, he is able to smack Aeria with the Flash Cannon point blank, dealing another strong super effective blow. Aeria, righting herself, pulls back a little bit and seeks revenge. A familiar gleam of fiery energy erupts from her mouth, the Flamethrower licking Metang once again for a powerful super effective blow, although it loses some of its power due to her running out of type energy, the Clefable. Aeria looks on triumphant, as a 20p piece slaps her across the face for a small bit of damage.

Both pokemon have breached the final third, the health of the two pokemon now a just tiny amount apart with Aeria ahead. Energy usage was slightly higher for Clefable overall, and she's out of fire energy. Both are beginning to tire, with Aeria showing more signs of it. There are heavier winds in the arena now and it has picked up some of the debris around the area, although it won't really affect much. Also the ice is gone from Legs' face.

Machamp to order please.

Round 4: The edits make this round much less entertaining

Aeria remains wary, keeping a focused eye on her opponent. She retreats slightly as Legs looks ready to throw forth an attack, and Aeria prepares herself accordingly. Suddenly, chunks of the cobblestone erupt upwards as a few jagged Stealth Rocks rise up nearby.... is what i'd like to say. However as Legs strains to try and get the rocks to appear, he realises that his efforts are fruitless as the cobblestone flooring won't budge an inch. Aeria scratches her head in confusion as Legs regains his composure, the only thing affecting him being the loss of his pride. Legs, in an attempt to redeem himself, rushes at Aeria head first, attempting to slam her with a powerful Iron Head. Aeria is well prepared for the attack, and throws up her Safeguard, a white dome of energy erupting outwards from her. The dome takes the whole force of the attack and pushes Legs back. Legs looks pretty annoyed with himself after these events, but he shakes it off as he prepares for his next orders.

Not a lot happened that round. Both used about equal energy, both used 1 move so they're pretty fresh.

Roto to order please.

Oh crap

Guys I've just realised I severely cocked that up. Machamp is right that Stealth Rock couldn't have been used, because I missed the fact that the Arena description specifically prevents the use of stealth rock. I'm gonna redo the round accordingly and you guys may re-order after that.

Sorry about that!

EDIT: Edits were made, re-order away.

Round 5: Last Legs

Legs, looking a little flustered after last rounds mishap, decides that he wants to dictate the pace of the rest of this bout. He circles with Aeria for a little, looking for an attack to come his way before deciding that he's waited too long, and charges for an Iron Head. Steel energy envelopes him ready to strike, but Clefable looks more than ready for the attack. Legs ponders in his mind as he charges, 'she wouldn't do the same thing twice... right?... right?'. Wrong. She's seen this before, she knows how it goes down. She Safeguards once again, white energy solidifying and pushing outwards from her, forcing Legs back once more. Legs looks a little annoyed with himself for walking into the same trick twice, but he gets over it and brings his attention back to the battle.

Feeling slightly better off than her foe, Aeria takes her chance to seize the next attack, readying up some brown tinged bubbles of energy and sending them towards her foe. Legs' offensive agenda looks to be his downfall, as he had stopped his circling to prepare his attack, but eats the Hidden Power instead for a good shot of super effective damage. Legs looks battered, but returns the onslaught, a Flash of steel energy erupting outwards in a beam, striking Aeria as she settles after her own attack. She reels as the attack not only deals a large shot of damage to her, but the flash from the beam seems to have dropped a defensive stat a little. Tired of this bout, Aeria looks to end the battle with a final attack, utilising the ghost energy reserves she had saved up earlier. A swirl of ghostly energy forms up and fires, although it seems rather tame compared to the earlier Shadow Ball. Regardless, Legs knows his fate if the attack takes him head on. As the ball approaches he attempts the dodge, but it seems that his physical well-being has left him quite drained, and he eats most of the attack. Unfortunately for Legs, 'most' of the attack seems to be enough as his heavy body falls to the ground, the resonant sound of metal ringing out across the arena.

Legs is unable to battle! Next pokemon and orders from Roto please!

Whilst she got the KO, Aeria didn't get off lightly that round, and she's just dipped under critical health levels. She's also panting quite heavily due to the three move round and her own physical wellbeing.
