Round 7: Right Where I Want You

The slight semblance of some defense being played seems to have put Vulcan off a bit. Rather than go ham, he chooses to keep his distance, backing away from Kai and unleashing another Lava Plume at her. With no reflective shield to protect her this time, the scorching hot lava causes Kai to shriek in burning agony. Indeed, she's left with a rather nasty burn on top of her midsection/centerpiece/whatever it is between her four legs. Not to mention the substantial damage taken by the attack as well. Nevertheless, Kai is quick to retaliate, going full Beyblade a second time. Once's she's Let It Rip, there's just no stopping her. She slams into Vulcan at full spinning speed, dealing some nice damage and bolstering her Special Defense once more. Vulcan glares at his foe, wanting to burn her up already, but decides to take a breather for now. Kai, however, has no intentions of slowing down just yet, perfectly willing to push the envelope. Instead, she'll choose to slow Vulcan down, or rather, stop his movement completely, this time sealing him in a Rock Tomb. Vulcan watches as a rock formation piles up around him, walling him inside. Well, this should be interesting...

Vulcan closes the health gap a bit but is still trailing by a lot. He has a large advantage when it comes to energy though; he's refreshed while Kai really needs a break. Kai is also at about the halfway point on energy and is out of Rock.

Guess who forgot he didn't bring his Empoleon and ordered last round under the assumption he brought his Empoleon?

If you guessed me then fuck you. You're right, but that's beside the point.

Switching into Quentin. Foresight as you wait for them to break out the Tomb. If they do, pelt them with Stone Edge, but if not set yourself a Swords Dance up.

It's okay Cibbir, guess who forgot this was Switch = OK? ;)

P.S. Quentin's bio looks a bit unoriginal.

Anyways, Focus Blast through the Tomb and then give them a Blaze boosted Overheat if you can hit them. If you can't hit them, ask App why he hates you Earthquake.

Round 8: God Damnit Cibbir

Having apparently fucked up tremendously in his squad planning for this one, Connor brings his palm to his forehead as he realizes his Empoleon is nowhere to be found in his current squad. Rip in paparazzi. He still decides to make a switch though, and opts to return his tired Metagross in favor of a Lucario named Quentin who totally has a real bio, guys, totally. That thing must have 0 personality whatsoever. But can it fight? Let's take a look at its Bio Species Characteristic and find out.

Quote:
Lucario (Fighting/Steel): Lucario are very sensitive the aura of Pokémon. Using a move, Lucario can close their eyes and sense the location of a Pokémon. This can be sustained indefinitely as long as Lucario's eyes are closed.
Quentin spies the Rock Tomb already set up and realizes there's not much for him to do yet. As a preemptive measure, he flashes a red light from his eyes, which quickly pervades throughout the room, then fades as quickly as it came. His Foresight to use this move allows Quentin to see through any possible illusions Vulcan tries to deceive him with. But Vulcan has no intentions of pulling any tricks. He's relying on brute force to carry him through, as he plows through the Rock Tomb with a Focus Blast. Rocks go flying in every direction, pelting Quentin for a small amount of damage, but Vulcan, not being able to see his foe while entombed, missed Quentin completely with his attack. Quentin's eyes light up, having seen his opportunity to strike. He summons two rings of sharp rocks around him, and sends the Stone Edge flying at Vulcan, shredding him for super-effective damage. Despite being bruised and battered, though, Vulcan feels a strange sense of empowerment. Indeed, his fire attacks have grown in power now that he's in his final third of health. Taking full advantage of this, Vulcan unleashes a powerful Overheat which fucking destroys Quentin. If I had it my way that'd be an instant KO. Sadly, it's not, though it certainly does deal a huge chunk of damage. It takes a lot of out Vulcan too, though, weakening his fire attacks for the next couple rounds.

Quentin lost about an entire third of health, but of course leads Vulcan by a longshot, the latter now into his final third. Quentin is doing fine on energy while Vulcan is a bit fatigued but having just had a break, can make two. Quentin is 1/2 out of Rock, while Vulcan is about 2/3 out of Fighting.

Meh, I was hoping for a reduced or at least partial blow on Focus Blast seeing as Metagross and Lucario should have been substituted in more or less the same spot.

Either way.

Switching out to Gragas.

Advance upon them with an MC Focus Blast, then switch into an Arm Thrust.

He shouldn't be moving very quick to High Jump Kick over that Focus Blast and plant one on his noggin. Afterwards jump back as you chuck out a Psychic. Rail another Psychic through him afterwards.

That's a three folks. Just so you know Clee, this is the thing I don't want to fight with Aggron. I am going to murder this face so fast you won't know what has hit you.

Round 9: PIGGY LIKES THREE MOVERS

(The way I see it, there are numerous ways in which Vulcan could have lost his foe's position while inside the tomb. He could have glanced around nervously as he was being entombed, he could have tried to avoid it, leaving him in a slightly different spot, etc. I just don't see him standing perfectly still with his focus on a particular spot the entire time.)

Cele, wanting to save Vulcan from his Overheat exhaustion, decides to mimic Connor and recalls the Typhlosion for now. In its place, a Hariyama named in honor of League's resident drunkard is sent out. Indeed, Gragas' large and lumbering form is a sight to behold. Could Gragas be the key to Cele's potential victory? Let's take a look at his Species Characteristic and find out!

Quote:
Hariyama (Fighting): Hariyama are slow and lack agility but are sturdy and difficult to knock over. Hariyama have large, powerful hands and any attacks performed by use of their hands (Arm Thrust, Knock Off, possibly Rock Slide) do 1.2x more damage. This does not apply to fist attacks, such as Mega Punch or Dynamic Punch. Thanks to the thick layer of fat in their skin, Hariyama take 20% less damage from Ice and Fire-type attacks and are resistant to extreme temperatures. They can see in the dark.
Gragas looks to put on some safe pressure almost immediately, making the most of his type advantage. He begins to move forward slowly, charging up and firing a Focus Blast as he does so. Quentin is prepared though, and leaps in the air with rather quick reaction speed. He rises up and over the projectile coming his way and comes crashing down on Gragas with a High Jump Kick. Gragas howls both in pain and in frustration, not enjoying his foe's evasive maneuvers. He now charges at Quentin, letting go of any desire to play at a distance. Looking like a real sumo wrestler, he shoves Quentin with several quick Arm Thrusts. Those huge-ass hands really put in some work, battering Quentin for a lot of damage. Quentin, however, is ready for a major counter-attack. The Lucario gathers Psychic energy for a forceful wave that he sends moving towards his foe. Though the gargantuan Gragas is not moved very much by the attack, he is certainly hurt by it quite a bit. And then, in true Piggy fashion, Connor burns his second and final three-mover of the match. Like what the fuck it isn't even Round 10? Whatever, I guess it can't be helped. Quentin lets loose another Psychic wave and strikes Gragas once again, dealing even more damage to the poor mon. Ouch.

Gragas' health has properly tanked this round, being well into his second third. Quentin leads his foe in health by a small amount, but is behind a bit in energy. He is also out of Psychic.

Switching (shocking) to Kai.

Charge full and hard into his gut with a Let it Rip, Psychic style. Follow with a strafing Psychic as you bring yourself off the ground.

Ready a Surf over the sig and to put distance between you as they switch, then trap them in a Rock Tomb, still gaining distance. If the Psychic comes, let it push you back to gain distance.

Round 10: In Typical Fashion

Cibbir is switching again and Cele has brought out top grade dank memes. I expected nothing less from you too. Anyway, Connor recalls his Lucario for now and brings back Kai the Metagross, ready to Beyblade the fuck out of everything some more. Who's ready for a rip-roaring good time? I'm sure Gragas isn't. Indeed, his life flashes before his eyes for a brief moment as Kai spins towards him ferociously, having Let it Rip!. Gragas isn't without a plan though. Despite not being near a body of water, he manages to create a moderately-sized wave. He rides the Surf up and over Kai, just barely able to clear the Metagross, mostly due to her low frame during the attack. Kai, however, growls as she's blasted with the water. She is, at least, left with another brand new shiny Special Defense boost. She also doesn't want to make the same mistake twice, rising off the ground in levitation. In a similar display of her psychic prowess, she lets loose a Psychic Wave at Gragas, who this time allows himself to be knocked back a bit. A visible scowl wrinkles his face from the pain, but he isn't going to give up just yet. This time, he opts for a more defensive maneuver, and summons boulders from beneath the surface, which swiftly pile down around Kai in the form of a Rock Tomb. It appears despite her levitation, she is still somewhat grounded after all. A groan can be heard from inside, as the burn Kai sustained from earlier flares up again. Can Cele use this to his advantage to turn things around, or will Connor continue his brute force tactics all the way to victory? (Seriously how is it only Round 10 wtf)

Gragas has fallen into his final third of health, while Kai has now moved into her second third. Gragas is significantly more energetic, however, for Kai is into her final third of energy. Gragas is 1/2 out of Water and 1/3 out of Rock.

Switching to Eredar.

Keep slightly off the ground and Calm Mind. If they break out of the Tomb, Shadow Ball, but if not Wonder Room I guess idk

If Gragas can't switch for whatever reason, DC Earthquake those burns twice.

Round 11: I Totally Forgot About This

Wait what Cele's alive? Holy shit I actually have to ref something now! Well let's get back to it, shall we? Once again, we've got a switch, Cele now recalling Gragas (who'd taken quite the beating in just two rounds) and sending out a Dusclops named Eredar. Kai, however, isn't quite done with Gragas just yet. Covering herself in a dark aura, she bursts out from within the Rock Tomb and follows Gragas in hot Pursuit. The attack hits as Gragas is being brought back into his Poke Ball, dealing more damage than it otherwise would. Despite the damage, Gragas is able to return to his Poke Ball, so Eredar is brought out. Let's see if this matchup can help Cele turn things around, and let's have a look at Dusclops' Species Characteristic while we're at it.

Quote:
Dusclops (Ghost): Dusclops are relatively solid and prefer that state, but can go ethereal or invisible with little problem. Though they typically stay on the ground, they are able to levitate, but are not particularly fast or agile and possess a low flight ceiling. Their defense and special defense are slightly higher than those of other Ghosts. They can be poisoned.
Eredar breaks the pattern here by not opting to blast his opponent to pieces right off the bat. Instead, he opts to move forward with a Calm Mind, concentrating his thoughts to boost his special attack and prevent any mental tampering. And then, Kai and Eredar lock eyes, knowing exactly what's about to go down. Each begins to charge up ghostly energy, not breaking eye contact at all the entire time, making this look very much like something out of DBZ. The tension grows as the spheres of energy grow larger, until both finally release their projectiles. Kai and Eredar are each smacked in the face by the other's Shadow Ball, trading some nice damage.

Damage exchanged was roughly even here, with Kai quickly approaching her final third of health. Kai is half out of Ghost and a third out of Dark. Both are fine for two, though Eredar is certainly more energetic.

Considering the way his orders were worded, wouldn't he forego Calm Mind and simply Shadow Ball? That's partly the reason I broke out so early.

The way I read it, the second part of his orders are conditional on whether or not you're out of the tomb, but the first part has nothing to do with the condition.

Round 12: Deja Vu

Kai knows she might be in trouble with this new matchup. But rather than switch out (again), she opts to fight back. Charging up Psychic energy, he pushes forth a mighty wave of force that smashes into Eredar and moves him back a little. Eredar is undeterred though, and moves to the offensive, closing the gap between them and casting a gruesome Hex. A watchful purple eye glares from above, sending waves of ghostly energy at Kai, dealing extra damage due to her burn, eliciting a screech of pain.

Kai is unable to battle! Connor, please send out your next Pokemon and orders.

Eredar has just dipped into his second third of health. He's a bit fatigued from the 3 mover, but can still make two.

Round 13: Use the Force

Connor recalls his fallen Metagross, having finally fallen to the mighty three mover of destiny, and decides to return Quentin the Lucario to the fray. Let's see if his aura-wielding capabilities can help him extinguish this pesky ghost. Quentin is one with his trusty aura to start, displaying his Signature Move Spirit Drain. A sphere of aura that totally isn't Aura Sphere strikes into the heart of Eredar, who feels his body slightly weaken from the attack, but no pain. Like some sort of Ahri Q boomerang the orb returns to Quentin, who smirks as his Special Defense strengthens from what he stole. Eredar, though, doesn't seem to care much for special attacking right now, advancing on his foe and delivering a blow with the force of an Earthquake. Quentin is slammed into the ground and scowls at Eredar. He quickly scrambles to his feet and readies his counter-attack, made more effective by his previous technique. After gathering Fighting energy, he unleashes a powerful Focus Blast, which connects with Eredar for some nice damage. But Eredar has one more trick up his sleeve this round. He walks right up to Quentin and slugs him with a Dynamic Punch, the force of which sends him flying backwards. Quentin is slow to get up after that one; it looks like he's been thoroughly confused from the hit! Is the aura with him now?

Eredar holds a lead over Quentin, who has dropped well into his final third but not yet into critical. Quentin, however, is much fresher his opponent, who is panting heavily and requires a breather.

Round 14: I Feel It Coming

Eredar, panting hard, trudges toward Quentin, hoping to net himself yet another KO. Quentin, meanwhile, is still suffering from a rather rattled mind, seemingly unaware of the approaching threat. With a stroke of luck, though, he manages to interpret the orders being given to him, but stops in horror as he realizes he doesn't have any Psychic energy left. So he kinda just sits there in confusion as Eredar finally reaches his destination, and absolutely pummels Quentin with a DC Earthquake and just ends Quentin's life.

Quentin is unable to battle! Connor, please send out your next Pokemon and orders.

Eredar took no damage, is out of Ground energy, and is slightly refreshed from the one mover. Could go for two next round if necessary.
