Creek: A small, flowing creek hidden in the back woods, which flows at a fairly swift pace. Most Pokemon will be able to traverse the current with ease, though particularly light or small combatants may have some issue. The creek is about fifteen feet across at most points, differing by only a few feet here and there, and is consistently about five feet deep at the center. A small makeshift bridge stretches across the creek at the center, where the battle will typically begin, and though it is fairly sturdy and able to hold the average combatants with ease, it can be broken with enough force. The creek's left bank is largely flat with the odd vegetation and a good amount of trees for climbing and cover, while the right bank quickly shifts into a steep hill, rising about twenty feet before flattening out again, and lacks any real form of vegetation whatsoever. This arena is outdoors only.

Round 1

It's the Creek arena, one of the more versatile arenas in ASB. It has, lawn, rock, water and trees. And there is a bridge. How fun! This is a match between the two former Electric GT, Lanturn and BS. They shake hands and then send out their pokemon. Here they are:

Quote:
Magnezone (Electric/Steel): Magnezone levitate by default. Moving by electro magnetic propulsion, they are not as fast as other levitating Pokémon, but are more agile. They are inorganic and can see in the dark. They fight more enthusiastically in man made environments. Magnezone are considered to be one Pokémon, though their three eyes help them with vision and their Tri Attack is more powerful than normal.

Lopunny (Normal): Lopunny are able to jump much higher than the typical Pokémon. They can use their ears in attacks, allowing them to extend their range for physical attacks. Their Charm, Attract, and similar attacks are more effective than normal. In its Mega Forme, Lopunny becomes an extremely deft and nimble fighter, becoming Normal/Fighting type. Its jumping abilities become slightly greater, and its punching and kicking moves become x1.2 more effective. It also becomes quite faster, able to more easily evade attacks and perform acrobatic moves.
Usagi stands on the bridge, while Polaris hovers over it. They, unlike their trainers, aren't really interested in greetings. They are here to fight till death! Nah kidding. Before the fight starts, Usagi starts glowing white, the bond between her and her trainer giving her strength, as she changes from gentle bunny to a ferocious yet graceful warrior. Yup, she has Mega Evolved. Polaris gets shit scared due to this new development and decides to get the fuck back to his ball. He charges electricity around his body, throws some Volt at Usagi and then Switches out to Hope.

Summary

Usagi took tiny bit damage, Pola unharmed. He rests in his pokeball. Hope and Usagi are both good for two. Sub didn't happen.

Ok I have rust all over me so I might be wrong/unaware of any recent rule changes, but

Why didn't Sub happen? I had the initiative and I don't recall seeing it anywhere that Mega-Evolving (it also doesn't count as it move if that mattered) would make me basically order second. I don't think Volt Switch is fast enough to outspeed a QC Substitute since it is well... QC.

Both the pokemon are fresh out of ball so initiative isn't prominent enough, maybe if sav order a conditional, but he didn't.
Mega evolution doesn't take a move but it takes time. Yeah I know QC Sub is fast but it is not that quick that you would be able to mega plus sub before the switch.

You can of course ask in Ref Q/A if my answer is unsatisfactory.

Round 2

Seeing that a magnezone vs mega lopunny in a bad match up, BS sends out the extraterrestrial pokemon, Hope the Beheeyem. The psychic type hovers over the bridge, here is some classified information on her:

Quote:
Beheeyem (Psychic): Beheeyem are extremely intelligent Pokémon with potent psychic capabilities. They levitate by default. They are telepathic, giving them all of the bonuses associated with Mind Reader without the usual drop in speed. Being a cosmic entity, their Cosmic Power is significantly more potent than usual.
Usagi eyes her new opponent, a psychic type. This is bad news. Hope just gently floats a few feet in front of her, pleased to see an easy prey. Nothing seems to happen for a couple of second, but then both pokemon jump into action instantaneously. Hope concentrates his mind, greatly enhancing his psychic power. Then without any warning, he blasts forth a wave of Psychic energy, aimed at Usagi. The mega bunny however finds a way to deal with this dangerous attack. She pushes of the bridge, Bounceing high over the wave, completely dodging it. Hope looks pretty impressed. Usagi then comes down and kicks Hope's teeth in as she lands. The psychic type shrugs of the attack.

Hope eyes Usagi. It would be wise to incapacitate an athletic pokemon like her, as physical prowess is not something she can match her in. She will let poison weaken her. With that, Hope creates a few blobs of highly radioactive and Toxic substance out of thin air and sends it at Usagi. The bunny chuckles. Seems like she has a counter for this attack too. Usagi is surrounded by a multicoloured Magical Coating. As the toxins hit this coating, they just bounce back at Hope, and seep into her skin. She feels sick suddenly, but is even further impressed by Usagi.

Summary

Usagi took no damage and now has a decent lead over Hope. Hope is toxic poisoned. She has half her Poison energy remaining, while Usagi has used up a third of her Psychic energy. Both are good for two.

Lanturn to order.

Use Psychic to toss Heliolisk off the bridge, then take a break.

Round 3

Although she outsmarted her opponent last round, which is a pretty big deal considering her opponent is a psychic type, Usagi knows this is a very dangerous match up. If she stays any longer then she will be in big trouble. She should swallow her pride and let someone else take on hope. With that, she initiates switching. She returns to her pokeball quickly and out comes another pokemon. Looks like she has Passed the Baton to Hiyori the Heliolisk. Let's learn more about this pokemon:

Quote:
Heliolisk (Electric/Normal): Heliolisk are extremely sensitive to changes in weather. Their frills act like solar panels. Using a move in bright sunlight, Heliolisk can extend their frills to absorb energy from the sun, restoring significant energy once per battle. Their dry skin is also very water absorbent, and it will restore minor energy every round in the rain. Due to living in a desert environment, they are also immune to damage from Sandstorms and can use electricity without seeing their moves lose power in the heat.
Heliolisk starts near one end of the bridge while Hope is hovering over the other. As Hiyori is assessing her surroundings and her opponent, Hope makes her move. She focuses her Psychic ability and uses telekinesis to pick up the heliolisk. She then tosses her into a creek. Not a very warm welcome. Hiyori doesn't really have any problem in these shallow waters and isn't too bad a swimmer anyway. Hope winces as the toxins in her system damage her.

Summary

Hope was the only one to take damage, which was due to toxic. Usagi is resting in her pokeball. Everyone is good for two.

BS to order.

Set up a Cubic Light Screen, then let loose a Psychic Wave while floating up and over the river.

Round 4

Hiyori floats around in the cool and pleasant creek water, still confused why did Hope waste a move to fling her their. But she ain't complaining the water feels pretty nice. Hope looks annoyed and starts making some defensive preparation. Hiyori does the same. Hope focuses her psychic energy to create a kind of barrier. She surrounds her with a Cubic box of Light refracting Screens.
Hiyori does something similar to that. She too uses a barrier using psychic energy. Her's is just one Light refracting Screen, although it is thicker than Hope's.

With that out of the way, both focus on offense. Hope is going to use the useful version of psychic this time. She concentrates her psychic abilities. Her powers magnify for a moment. Then she sends forth a powerful blast of Psychic energy at Hiyori. The light screen tanks the attack, though it does have a few cracks in it now. Hiyori doesn't like that Hope is moving away from her. Does she really believes that escape would be that freaking easy? Hiyori uses the water around her to create a gigantic wave. She Surf on it and crashes straight into Hope, although she isn't able to drag the psychic type down. As the round ends, Hope is hurt by the toxins in her system.

Summary

Hope was again the only one to take damage, moving deeper into her first third. She has a cubic light screen while Hiyori has a light screen. Hiyori has little less than half Water and little more than half Psychic. Both are good for two.

Lanturn to order.
