Arena: The Sealed Chamber
Spoiler: show
Located under the sea to the west of Pacifidlog Town, a cavern lies out of reach of most humans, requiring both an aptitude in reading braille as well as an unusual team choice to access. The walls lined with cryptic engravings encase a room that is surprisingly warm and dry, heated by the hotspot that formed the nearby Mt. Chimney, which leaves the temperature of the chamber often nearing 120°F/50°C. This leaves the cavern virtually devoid of moisture, making Water and Ice attacks difficult for those not accustomed with the heat, in addition to those who enjoy or are uncomfortable with heat being affected in kind with their preference. The subterranean room has many large boulders and seven even larger pillars which reach to the cavern ceiling, six of which being organized in a hexagonal shape while the seventh lies against the back wall of the chamber. The placement of the pillars is static, but the boulder's locations are random and can be stated by the participants as long as they don't contradict any prior placements. The roof of the cave is about 15 feet above its floor, said floor being a layer of sand atop mostly rock beneath, easily utilized for attacks requiring the plentiful supply of rocks but the ground itself being less pliable, leaving attacks like Earthquake and Bulldoze weakened. The chamber itself is a 50'-sided square, and the carved out space of the cavern is solid, leaving it impossible to cave-in. The cavern is dimly lit by an artificial glow emanating from an unknown source, leaving moves based on the presence of natural light without, as well as invigorating Pokémon who prefer the nighttime.
Let's get this started. Squads in.

Thanks Connor for reffing this and good luck DLA!

Clan Ru: Level 5 Male Tyranitar (Uplevel)
Hidden Power: Grass
Signature Move: Special Training - Distressing Darkness
Clan Ru constantly exudes an aura of fear and intimidation at all times, which breaks the Fighting spirit of any would-be attackers, causing all Fighting energy that approaches him to dissipate into typeless energy. This also means that all of Clan Ru's own Fighting attacks are considered typeless, and he's unable to use Focus Blast or Focus Punch at all. He also loses Hyper Beam, Thunder, Blizzard and Fire Blast.

Stropo: Level 4 Male Magcargo
Hidden Power: Grass
Signature Move: Special Training - Take a Swim
When Stropo is sent into battle, he sacrifices major energy (not contributing to exhaustion) to form a lava pool at ground/surface level, dimensions being 20' x 20', and 8' deep. This does not affect the arena around the pool (aka does not set anything on fire and the like), and remains suspended in whatever environment it is placed. Stropo is able to swim and navigate through the lava easily and quickly. Any move involving sending energy through the arena will be unable to pass into or through the pool, functioning similarly to how lava/water do normally. The heat emanating off of the lava also provides any Pokemon in the confines of the pool as well as within 10 feet of the pool with the effects of Sunny Day, and the added heat allows Stropo's Fire attacks to hit Rock-types for neutral damage. However, Stropo cannot leave the confines of the pool while in battle, and when KO'd the arena returns to its original state. Stropo also loses access to the moves Nature Power, Self-Destruct, Explosion, Body Slam, Recover, Rock Smash, Fire Blast, and upon becoming a Magcargo, Shell Smash.

Inoi: Level 4 Female Cradily
Hidden Power: Flying

Tother: Level 4 Male Rhydon
Hidden Power: Flying
Signature Move: Special Attack - Castle Wall (RK)
Tother surrounds himself with an aura of Rock type energy and thrusts it forwards at great speed, shielding him from up to one attack in the same way as Safeguard and knocking back foes and loose objects like a Psychic wave. The after effects of the aura leave him with a 20% boost to both offensive stats. Standard boost stipulations apply. Castle Wall deals no direct damage and uses considerable energy. It can be used twice per battle.

Hidan: Level 4 Male Kabutops
Hidden Power: Flying
Signature Move: Special Training - Live and Let Die
Hidan has learned the moves Razor Shell, Leaf Blade, Sacred Sword, Psycho Cut, and Cross Poison, with the latter two only able to be used in their close range form. He has enough type energy to use each twice in battle. In exchange, he loses access to Hyper Beam, Mega Kick, Aqua Tail, and Rock Smash.

Groucho: Level 4 Male Probopass
Hidden Power: Fairy
Signature Move: Special Resistance - Duck Soup
When Groucho is initially sent out, he sacrifices up to an HB of health and equivalent energy (not contributing to exhaustion, the amount of health sacrificed is chosen when he is sent out) as his mini-noses form a protective barrier around him. Each mini-nose gains the amount of health sacrificed, and function as pure Steel types. They can be targeted specifically and KO'd in a sense. With all three mini-noses intact, the barrier around Probopass reduces the damage he takes from any super effective blows to neutral. With two intact, it only reduces the effectiveness by a single stage (3x to 2x, 2x to neutral). With one nose intact, only 3x weaknesses are reduced by one stage. Once all the noses have been removed, Probopass is as normal, and loses the ability to use the mini-noses as stated in his SC. If he returns to his Pokeball and is sent out again, the mini-noses will be in whatever condition they were in at the time he retreated. Due to his focus on making his mini-noses guardians, he loses access to the moves Stone Edge, Toxic, Flash Cannon, Magnet Rise, Gravity, and Thunder.

Good luck Miror, but I know you're not going to need it. Thanks for reffing Connor. Bringing my Worker's Badge that I keep forgetting to bring.

Level 4

Male Sceptile
Biography: Under Construction
No Signature Move
Hidden Power: Water

Derpface: Male Shiny Swampert
Biography: It was rumoured that the marsh that Marshtomp lived in was haunted. Being a very territorial Pokemon, he decided to check this out for himself, and encountered an Umbreon, who had got lost there. They confronted each other briefly, where Marshtomp got the upper hand and nearly defeated the Umbreon, however, the Umbreon used a move that allowed another Pokemon to take its place, a Leafeon. Despite having an array of Ice Typed and Poison Typed moves, Marshtomp was crushed in battle. Upon regaining his strength Marshtomp realized that as a Marshtomp, he was quite vulnerable to Grass moves and wanted to devise a way to leave battle if needed, which would be an excellent tool if he needed to guard his territory. He decided to train himself to learn a similar move.
Signature Move: Aqua Switch [WA]
Coating itself in a shell of water, the user rushes to a specified object, and upon hitting it, is switched out to another allied Pokemon. This is, for all intents and purposes, a Water Type U-Turn, subject to all stipulations of the move.
Hidden Power: Flying

Terra: Male Marowak
Biography: Underneath Terra's cool and calm exterior hides his willingness to give up his own life for his friends, along with his fear of being defeated and a deep desire for strength. Which leads him to be constantly tempted by the darkness. Terra can also be very naive and very trusting. This weakness of his is easy for foes to take advantage of, even causing him to doubt those who are closest to him and realizes his mistakes long after they've been done. Yet, although easily fooled and tempted by the darkness, he holds the bonds of his friends in high esteem. Wishing to fight for them and help them even when they are apart from each other.
Signature Move: Meteor [GD]
The user summons a huge meteor above the opponent, using high Ground Type energy to do so. The meteor will crash down upon the target, exploding into energy and deals heavy Ground Type damage. Airborne targets may be forced to the ground with ability similar to Smack Down. Although not a Fire Type move, the heat radiated my the meteor has a 10% to cause a Burn. Half of the attack is a solid meteor, while the rest is energy, making this attack both physical and Special in nature, but it is powered by Special Attack. The user has lost the ability to use Smack Down.
Hidden Power: Ground

Masamune: Male Medicham
Biography: Months of seemingly endless meditation have left Meditite void of most emotions. Being both a Fighing type and a Psychic type naturally grants him a sharper mind and endurance, however, his capacity for anything other than fighting or meditating is nothing. It's as if his heart has been trapped within the confines of a steel cage, although he claims that his lack of emotion is a sign of his enlightenment.
Signature Move: Swift Steel [ST]
The user surrounds himself with Steel Type energy, allowing the user to break through attacks with greater ease and still retain power, similar to Iron Head. The user strikes the target repeatedly in quick succession, dealing considerable Steel Type damage, before leaping away if needed. The target has a 10% chance to flinch. The user has enough Steel Type energy to use this move twice per match. While developing this move, the user forgot how to use Focus Punch and Giga Impact.
Hidden Power: Dark

Male Poliwrath
Biography: Poliwrath was a well-disciplined Pokemon, not too far from what one could estimate a tough Fighting Type Pokemon to be. However, he was surprisingly weightless for a Pokemon that appears so bulky, and even from his time as a weak Poliwag, there had been determination in him to remedy this source of inferiority. He has left behind the specially-based techniques that he used to opt for so frequently, only resorting to them when there is no other option. Instead, he would develop his physical abilities, and had become a powerful Pokemon in his own right. However, for a Pokemon like himself, there also had to come an experience that would shatter his will. His encounter with a wild Gengar certainly amounted to this. As the Ghost Type taunted him, he refused to let any other squad member help him as he fought the powerful Pokemon. Although he tried to use his mastery of Water Type moves to strike down his airborne opponent, its ethereal state managed to easily weather even these attacks, which would push most opponents to their limits. With several Shadow Balls, it forced Poliwrath to his knees. Although the cackling Gengar fled immediately afterwards, Poliwrath never forgot the disgrace. As if in a trance, Poliwrath worked to better himself. He was not going to simply switch to Special techniques. He was still too determined for that. However, he had indeed been humbled enough to look to them when he needed to, if only to make his physical abilities more potent. Alone, he marched into the area where the Gengar had been encountered, and sure enough, it emerged again to meet him, taunting him more than ever. This time, however, it found itself unable to switch to its ethereal state following an exchange of ghostly attacks, and was washed away by the wrath of the waves.
Signature Move: Ghostly Lock [GH]
The user releases a burst of ghostly blue energy towards the target, blasting them for a solid amount of Ghost Type damage. If the target is capable of changing states, then they would be restricted to the solid state for three rounds. This move uses up considerable Ghost Type energy, and the user has enough to use it thrice per match. As a strong-willed Pokemon full of determination, the user is unable to use Focus Punch and Rock Climb, lacking the concentration and finesse for them.
Hidden Power: Fire

Genderless Golurk
Biography: Under Construction
No Signature Move
Hidden Power: Ground

Predictable as ever, go Masamune (Medicham).

I mean I could go TTar but that's the obvious choice XP

Stropo, your debut.

Quickly Acid Armor into your pool and move about, staying evasive as you send them a Lava Plume for a greeting.

I keep forgetting it exists, but is it okay with the both of you if I edited in my Worker's Badge into my squad post? It doesn't change much besides the TP I get, but I won't mind if I'm not allowed to.

Sorry for the delay. Light Screen as they Acid Armor, and use Psychic to drag it out of the lava pool and throw it. If that's a three, then ignore the throwing.

The atmosphere hangs heavy in the abandoned chamber, the area having been reclaimed in recent years for use by the League. Thousands of feet underwater, the distant throbbing echo of the sea and surrounding life can be heard resonating throughout the structure, but that is not what has drawn attention today. Rather, a lone figure stands at the far end of the cavern, confronted by a willing newcomer, and the two lock eyes within moments of being within the same room. The challenge issued, they quickly begin their rites, hurling two identical spheres high into the air. With a click, the orbs split at the same time, illuminating the cavern with a dull crimson glow. The combatants are revealed - Masamune standing with a striking pose, while Stropo was already sinking into the lava pooling from his body.

Wasting no time as he begins to flex himself within the confines of his thickening lava pit, Stropo grunts as he channels energy over his body, his faint silhouette quickly fading as he becomes embroiled in even more lava. The viscous coating not only serves to bolster his physical defence - it also leaves him functionally invisible, becoming one with the lava. Masamune grunts as this occurs, his Psychic senses not being betrayed, and instead he focuses on channeling energy into the air directly before him. As he does, a shimmering barrier of glistening light condenses together, the structure promising to shield him from any incoming damage. Of course, this somewhat backfires. With a loud roar, Stropo sends huge globs of lava spewing into the air, the dense projectiles arcing before raining down on Masamune. The Medicham screams as he is covered in lava, the projectiles having burst clean through the gathered barrier. Shaking the worst of the rapidly setting molten rock from his body, Masamune is left with a rather nasty burn, and he desires instant gratification. Turning his psionic powers on Stropo, he attempts to pluck the Magcargo from the lava, but the combination of the viscous resistance, Stropo's struggling, and the irritant burns means Masamune can only just make Stropo breach the surface, the Magcargo soon sinking back down.

Stropo has an early lead, but it's nothing too impressive. Both are fresh, with Masamune suffering from a burn.

I'm going to regret this. Recalling Masamune, and sending out Terra (Marowak).

Meteor, and follow it up with a Hidden Power. If they get close to you, slam them with a DC Earthquake instead.

Solar Beam him the moment he comes in (huzzah for magical lava pools), then dive to the bottom of the pool and remain evasive, good luck to him finding you.

Deciding Masamune has done his job for now, his trainer replaces him with the eager figure of Terra, the Marowak waving his bone wildly through the air as he announces himself. Grunting, he glares at his foe ... but his anger is quickly waylaid by sheer terror as Stropo abruptly spews forth a shrieking beam of pure white energy. The condensed natural force engulfs the figure of Terra, leaving him shuddering with a mixture of rage and pain. Thrusting his arms to the air, he hurriedly forms a humongous construct of energy and dirt, hurling it through the air towards Stropo. The Magcargo ducks down beneath the lava, but from his grunt of pain, it is evident he did not manage to escape without recompense. Stumbling nearer to the edge of the pool of lava, Terra hisses with distaste as he realises he has no ability to find his foe, left with no choice but to wait for another sighting.

Stropo took a heavy hit, but so did Terra, both more or less tied. Both are pretty fresh.

Did Acid Armor help in dodging/resistance to the meteor any? Just curious offhand (I assume so given that my health isn't drastically lower).

Definitely gave you a solid resistance. Not so much the dodging - he had just seen you fire a humongous and not at all subtle beam of light right at him. He had a pretty solid idea of where Stropo was.

Surface carefully, doing your best not to make your presence known before letting loose a Smog at him to obscure the area. Submerge once more immediately afterwards, striking the side of the pool closest to him with an Earthquake as you depart.

Meteor as fast as you're able. After the Smog appears, deliver a DC Earthquake using your bone once you feel either a rumbling sensation near you or if you get hit by your foe.

With his opponent still hiding out of sight, Terra grunts as he desperately narrows his eyes, trying to see through the viscous lava giving Stropo cover. The Magcargo slowly surfaces, the only real indication of his location the gentle rising of lava at the surface. Scrambling, Terra forces energy into the air to create yet another huge effigy of a meteor, hurling the construct down towards Stropo. As he does, a gushing purple smoke storms across the lava pool to obscure the vision of Terra. The Marowak hisses as he accidentally inhales, toxins quickly taking hold of his system, but he is uplifted by the groan of pain from Stropo. However, the Magcargo is quick to submerge once again, and as he does so, he inches nearer the edge of his pool. Slamming into the hardened rock at the edge, he sends tectonic energies roaring through the ground, and with his orders requiring diving into the lava, Terra simply weathers the brunt of the attack.

Terra opened an alright lead this round and is pretty fresh. Poison kicks in next round. Stropo good for two.

Sorry for the delay. And I'd ask about why wouldn't he use his bone for EQ, but I guess the range was too short.

Drop a Meteor on the lava pool once more because I can't think of anything else useful right now. When you spot your foe, Hidden Power.

Back away from the position he thinks you're at while remaining underneath the surface of the pool, preforming an amnesia as you go just in case camouflage, smog and movement aren't enough. Once the Meteor has come crashing down, send him a Lava Plume from beneath the surface to burn him alive and ignite the Smog.

With Stropo still hanging beneath the surface of his protective lava, Terra is left disgruntled. On all sides, a thin purple haze is leaving his bearings lost, and the Marowak finally roars with discontent, thrusting his bone into the air. He summons an all too familiar meteor of raw energy, thrusting his bone downwards and sending the construct hurtling towards the lava. Stropo, meanwhile, is slowly backing away from his previous spot while bolstering his defences. With an abrupt splash, the meteor descends into the lava, managing to catch a glancing blow on the body of Stropo, but he does not show his body. This leaves Terra at an impasse, and his moments spent wondering how to tackle the problem ahead of him allow Stropo to fire large gobs of flaming lava into the air. They sail high before crashing down around Terra, scorching his body and leaving him in agony. His troubles are only compounded as the gas surrounding him explodes without warning, dousing him in a second blanket of raging flame.

Both roughly tied, nearly entering their final thirds. Terra is now burned as well as poisoned. Terra remains fairly fresh while Stropo is showing slight signs of tiring.

Sorry about the delays

Head for near the bottom of the pool and Stockpile, just float around near the bottom and try to dodge anything approaching from the surface if anything does.

This will probably end up wasting energy than doing anything. Summon a Rock Slide by using the rocks already present in the arena, and drop these rocks into the pool. QC Substitute afterwards.

Wanting to make sure that he remains in condition for the continuing battle, Stropo drops towards the bottom of his lava pool. Reaching his position, he gathers energy within his body, storing it in an easily accessible receptacle for later on, but as he does, but foe makes their move. Stomping near a small rock construct close to his position, Terra smashes his bone into it, raining chunks of rock into the lava pool before him. While Stropo tries his best, he cannot quite entirely avoid the entirety of the incoming rock shower, and he grunts with pain as stray rocks find their mark. Meanwhile, on the surface, Terra creates a perfect doppelganger of himself, determined not to take ridiculous damage again.

Both more or less tied and just heading into their final thirds. Stropo much fresher than he was, Terra good for two and with a Substitute.
