Drifloon UPN PASBL: Beautiful Savage vs Ironthunder

Hello, battle fans! Welcome to today's match. I'll be your referee and MC, JustAnotherUser. Today, we're seeing a fight on board a luxurious ocean liner! Many of the cruise's participants have gathered to watch the events, so let's give them something spectactular! Here's the specifications for the match.

Arena: Ocean Liner
Battles here take place upon the deck of a large Ocean Liner. The floor underfoot is made of pure steel, entirely unable to be manipulated. There will be onlookers for this battle, but they cannot be targeted and will be smart enough to remove themselves from the vicinity if the battle should spill towards them. Anything which can be feasibly pictured as on the deck of an Ocean Liner is open for manipulation, with deck chairs being a prominent feature. There is also a rather large pool situated at the center of the deck, which is large enough to accommodate most aquatic Pokemon. The battle can also spill out to the surrounding sea. Here, waters are fairly temperate, but there are no footholds for land based Pokemon. The currents are mild, not having any drastic effect of swimming ability, and any new Pokemon will be released on the deck of the Liner.
Both trainers are here, so we're ready to go! Can I get a squad from Savage, please?

Biography: As a kid, Bazooka always wanted to play out in the rain with all the other baby!Pokemon. But of course, she couldn't, because she's a Magby and would fucking die or something. So, much to the woe of the Pokemon around her, she learned this technique to simulate the experience.
Signature: Special Attack: Lava!Rain
Using Solid energy, Bazooka shoots a ball of fire energy into the sky. This causes black clouds to come and completely block out the sun, and soon it begins to rain Lava. Much like Rain Dance, it drizzles Lava for a round and then outright pours for the next two. Lava levels are equivalent to levels of Rain in Rain Dance. Lava!Rain can only be used outdoors, and causes damage to the arena and burns where applicable. Also, Bazooka may only use Lava!Rain once per match.

gl Sav, thanks for reffing this jau. Bringing my Birdkeeper's and Bugcatcher's Tokens.

-Divine the Hawlucha, level 2 (Uplevel), female, HP Grass- Birdkeeper’s Token attached.

-Steve the Machop, level 1, male, HP Poison

-Terrance the Cubone, level 1, male, HP Grass
Spoiler: show
Signature Training: Bone Blade
Terrance’s bone is now a sword made of bone, with sharpened edges. In addition to this, he has gained access to Leaf Blade, Psycho Cut, Night Slash and Air Slash, and in realistic his bone-based moves can cause lacerations. As a result of this, he never learnt how to use Blizzard, Body Slam, Substitute or Perish Song.

-Cynthia the Spiritomb, female, level 2, HP Rock

-Antaria the Minccino, level 1, female, HP Fire
Spoiler: show
Signature Training: Whoopsie
Antaria is now Normal/Poison type, with all associated weaknesses and resistances. She has also gained the use of Sludge Bomb, Acid Spray and Acid, at the cost of Iron Tail, Attract, Substitute and Thief.

-Erik the Shuckle, level 1, male, HP Grass- Bugcatcher’s Token attached.
Spoiler: show
Special Training: I got your powder stuff right here.
Shuckle has become a master of powders. He can secrete his own special brand of powder which causes the opponent to begin suffering from a burn, and the intense spicy aroma accompanying it will leave the foe with diminished vision for the next round (ordered as Chilli Powder). In addition, his mastery of powders has left him able to use them as well as any Grass type, and he has learned Powder, Sleep Powder, Poison Powder and Stun Spore. He can use each of them three times per battle.

And we shall be leading with... Cynthia and Antaria.

Hmm, what to do what to do... Jack, Nightlight. You guys are up. Nightlight, release into the pool.

Jack, use Brick Break on Minccino, then grab it with a Seismic Toss and slam it into the ground. If Spiritomb should approach you at any point, use Strength to grab it's Keystone and chuck it overboard.

Nightlight, use Thunderwave on Spiritomb, followed by a Thunderbolt to the same target.

Ok Cynthia, ST Agility to dodge the Thunder Wave, keeping away from Jack, before throwing a Curse on the Chinchou.

Antaria, be grateful that your sig makes you not weak to Fighting while firing a Dazzling Gleam right into the Tyrogue's eyes, while strafing. Then Toxic it in the face.

Round 1: (oh god doubles is a clusterfuck)

With both squads revealed, it looks like it's time for our battlers to send out their pokemon! First, Ironthunder's chosen duo; Cynthia, a female (uplevel) Spiritomb who seems to be formed of souls all tortured by a bizarrely specific thing, and Antaria, a female Minccino who looks a lot more down to get messy than most of her kind - must be as a result of her rather unique Normal/Poison typing. Counter picks from team Savage come in the form of Jack, a male (uplevel) Tyrogue who looks stern and disciplined despite his youth, and Nightlight, a male Chinchou who splashes down into the central pool.

Both sides stare each other down fiercely, looking very ready to square off - but before they do so, it's time for the Pokedex to inform us about our battlers!

Despite being locked out of the physical state, they take only 10% extra damage from special moves instead of the usual amounts. The keystone which they are bound to is always solid, and they can use this defensively to guard against special moves, taking standard damage when they strike their keystone. As a move, Spiritomb may retreat into their keystone for defense or to hide, taking only 50% damage from all attacks when hiding like this. When KO'd or asleep, Spiritomb will go into their Keystone automatically. Spiritomb are still able to pass through walls, but cannot extend their body more than 5 feet away from the Keystone and, due to the stone's pull, can only pass through walls for a limited amount of time. They can levitate. Despite being weighed down by the Keystone, they are actually very nimble and fast in the air, but will expend minor energy per round energy to maintain levitation. Spiritomb are resistant to Curses and cannot be poisoned.
Spoiler: show
[Ghost]: Ghost-type Pokémon fight more enthusiastically at night, though are not put off by fighting in the day, and can see in the dark. Ghosts are resistant to curses and curses imposed on them will last for a shorter time and be less potent. Their fear inducing attacks are more effective than those used by other Pokémon. Ghost types can be poisoned, unless stated otherwise. Ghost-types are not fully immune to Normal, Fighting or typeless attacks as in the games, taking neutral damage, but some may change their state in order to reduce damage from physical moves (see Ghost Pokémon information for details).
[Dark]: Dark-types can see in the dark. They fight more enthusiastically at night and are more effective at hiding in dark environments than other Pokémon, though light does not adversely affect them. Their Dark type attacks will also become much more intimidating during the night, giving them a small additional chance to flinch. They are immune to the damaging effects of Psychic-type energy but may still be lifted and manipulated by telekinesis. They are slightly better at tricking opponents than other Pokémon, allowing them to plant more potent curses and to use moves like Feint Attack to greater effect.

Minccino: Minccino are very concerned with cleanliness and get quite annoyed when dirty. When attacked by 'dirty' moves (e.g. Mud Bomb), they will become annoyed and gain a slight boost to their attack power but have a slight chance of disobeying attacks in order to clean themselves. Their tufty fur makes them resistant to spore based moves and is sufficiently anti static to deflect weak Electric moves like Thunder Wave. Chained moves like Double Slap will be faster and more powerful when used by this Pokémon.
Spoiler: show
[Normal]: Normal-type Pokémon are able to use support moves to greater effect than other Pokémon, with them being performed slightly quicker and being slightly more potent. Being beings of great balance, they benefit more from the positive effects of weather and other arena affecting moves, but will not suffer as badly from the negative effects. In the ASB, Normal-types take resisted damage from the damaging effects of Ghost-type energy.
[TYPE ANOMALY DETECTED. EXPANDING INFORMATION.]
[Poison]: Poison-type Pokémon are immune to poisoning. Their Poison-type attacks are slightly more likely to succeed in poisoning their targets than those used by other Pokémon and the effects will be slightly more potent. They also have an additional 10% chance to poison the target when using physical attacks with their most venomous appendages e.g. a Seviper’s tail, a Nidoking’s horn.

Tyrogue: Tyrogue are apprentice fighters and are more skilled than other baby Pokémon, on par with basic stage members of other lines. All baby Pokémon's techniques that are based on cuteness (such as Charm, Attract, Sweet Kiss, etc) are slightly more effective.
Spoiler: show
[Fighting]: Fighting-type Pokémon train extensively, more than any other Pokémon type, giving them greater endurance and readiness than other Pokémon and allowing them to push themselves harder for longer. They are more accurate with their physical blows and more adept at blocking and countering physical attacks, able to do this against most physical assaults. Being physically powerful, they can lift much more than normal Pokémon, though this does not grant them an attack boost. They fight more enthusiastically in urban environments but are not adversely affected by more natural surroundings.

Chinchou: Chinchou are fish and thus are slow and nearly immobile on land, but are faster and more agile in the water. They fight more enthusiastically when submerged and in a sizeable body of water. Whenever a Chinchou uses an electric attack in the water, it creates a small amount of electricity around it, shocking anything in the water with it within 10 feet of it (damage is considered equal to half a Thunder Shock for the most powerful electric attacks. They may also use their antenna as a light source in the same way that the Mareep family does with their tails.
Spoiler: show
[Water]: Water-type Pokémon are generally able to hold their breath and/or breathe underwater. The time varies, from several rounds in the case of birds, mammals and reptiles to indefinitely for fish and squid like Pokémon. They are generally good swimmers, with fish excelling the most, and are better at manipulating Water for moves like Surf and Whirlpool than other Pokémon, using less energy to do so even outside of water. Their Surf and Whirlpool attacks do not lose potency when used without a water source.
[Electric]: Electric types are resistant to paralysis inflicted by Electric-type moves, though they may be paralysed as normal by other methods. Electric types do not suffer from recoil damage when using Electric attacks in the water. They have a high degree of control over their Electric type attacks, and as such they will suffer less from attempts to redirect them.
Well, that was a shitlot of info! Let's not hold up any longer - let's begin the match!

Rather conveniently for me, the combatants seem to divide into pairs; while his comrade goes after the Minccino, Nightlight starts to close some of the distance between himself and Cynthia. The Spiritomb's keystone floats up off the ground as she watches the Angler Pokemon make it's approach with some caution. Coming to a stop shortly before the pool's edge, Nightlight begins his attack, building up electricity into the big glowing antenna on his head; they raise up completely out of the water as they discharge, several crackling tendrils of electricity forming from each and shooting towards Cynthia. She'd been keeping a swirl-patterned eye out for this Thunder Wave though; with a burst of surprising Agility for a pokemon like herself, she swiftly glides backwards through the air as the wriggling coils of lightning converge on nothing, cackling a many-voiced laugh while Nightlight curses missing his shot.

Meanwhile, further along the deck, Jack springs into action, charging forth towards Antaria, ready to kick some rodent tail. As he stands before his foe, he assumes a boxing stance while Antaria tries to weave around to his side - but a right hook that looks like it could Break a Brick clobbers her in the face despite her efforts. Jack looks perplexed it didn't seem to do as much damage as he'd've presumed, though - he must've forgotten about his foe's unusual poison typing! Staggering a moment, Antaria finds steady feet and resumes strafing around her opponent, her paws light up with a pastel pink glow that only seems to intensify in brightness; Jack's so focused on keeping up with her that he doesn't realise he opens himself right up to the Dazzling Gleam of fairy light! The fae power means this is a nasty blow on the Tyrogue - and the brightness of the technique isn't doing his eyes any favours either, the searing light having temporarily reduced his vision.

Back at the pool, Nightlight decides to try going for something more direct. Building up that charge of electricity once more, this time the antennae are pressed together as they're pointed at Cynthia - and a wicked-looking Thunderbolt roars out of them, shocking the Spiritomb's ethereal form potently. Full of malice and quite sore, Cynthia takes initiative of her feelings towards her foe; her entire spectral form rippling unstably, she cackles through pain as she flings a Curse at her opponent! The Chinchou is unable to avoid it; for a brief moment, nothing happens, and then he's overtaken with an otherworldly chill as pain wracks him. It looks like that's not nearly the end of that hurt, either, Cynthia menacingly hovering a few feet away...

Returning attention to the landlubbers, Jack decides to continue to use his arsenal of combat techniques - they don't seem to not hurt her much, he reasons - as he lunges forward at his foe, able to grip tightly around Antaria's stomach. Hoisting her off the ground for a moment, he then leaps up surprisingly high into the air - and throws her back down to the deck with great force, the impact of the Seismic Toss causing her to bounce off the wooden floor of the deck while Jack safely lands on his feet a couple metres away. Antaria gets to her feet looking awful queasy - is she going to barf? As it turns out, kind of - she spits up a positive fountain of potent purple venom at her foe, drenching him. He's not going to be feeling it just yet, but that stuff's highly Toxic - his health is going to start rapidly declining as the fight continues...

At the end of the first round, it's Cynthia who's worst off on health, just out of her first third; that's not to say the other three had it easy, though, all of them a fair ways into their own first thirds. Jack just got hit with Toxic, which will start taking effect next round, and Nightlight took a full-power curse, which is going to eat away at him. Energy usage was roughly equal across the board, some using maybe a pinch more than others, but all still comfortably in their first third. Antaria used a sizable chunk of her fairy energy, having enough for another Dazzling Gleam and some change. All of them are still good for two.

Orders from Ironthunder, please.

Cynthia, Dark Pulse into Shadow Sneak on the Chinchou, sending your body into the pool if need be.

Antaria, try a Double Team to surround the Tyrogue, then Sing.

Alright Nightlight, let's fight fire with fire. Or in this case, electricity. Dive down to the bottom of the pool while Discharging all over Spiritomb. Then zap it with a Thunderbolt.

Jack, use your fighting type senses to Detect the real Minccino, then Seismic Toss it into the deck again before it can start singing.

Round 2:

It looks like our four battlers are keeping up their focus on their chosen partner in this dance of battle; indeed, Cynthia and Nightlight are still at odds with one another. Cynthia's jagged, green, wispy maw widens as she prepares her next technique; a ring of black-and-purple dark energy forms before her scary visage, slowly starting to spin and rapidly picking up speed until it fires off dozens upon dozens of rings like itself as a Dark Pulse of energy, forming into a chain-like beam that bathes Nightlight in sinister power. To retaliate, the Angler makes use of the fact that he's... well, a fish, using the momentum of the blow to aid him in diving under the surface of the water until he stops a little above the base of the pool. There's a familiar buzzing crackle of power as he once more elects to electrify his foe. However, instead of staying localised to his antennae, power surges around him. A bright yellow aura of energy forms around him for a brief moment - and then he violently Discharges the build-up of electricity, a great bolt breaking the surface of the water and shocks the living - or should that be dead? - daylights out of Cynthia. While her spectral body doesn't lock up with paralysis, that still hurt!

Meanwhile, closer to the ship's prow, Antaria decides to get tricksy with her foe; she channels a fair bit of energy into her muscles, seeming to be vibrating in place, strangely. Jack regards the technique with caution, assuming an attack; instead of a direct offence, however, the Mincinno instead looks to be stretching wide and going blurry - and then in an instant, splits into two, which in turn split into two more. Faced with a quartet of Antarias thanks to the illusory power of Double Team, Jack decides to resort to measures that'll make sure he's not fooled; there's a gleam of rich red energy in his eye as he focuses intently; with the aid of some power exertion, Jack carefully regards the foes around him. It's not the one in front of him, or the left - aha! With intense focus and deduction honed by disciplined training, he's able to Detect that the real Antaria is the one to his right.

I don't know if Antaria's noticed that Jack's seen through her, considering she's launching into her next move; the Minccino's tiny voice pipes up - followed by itself, then itself again a third and then fourth time; looks like she's playing the part of a one-'mon barbershop quartet! As she Sings the first few lines of a tune Simpsons fans might know, Jack can feel the soothing tones of her voice making him feel tired - but he can't fall asleep on the job! With a determined yell, he rushes to his right suddenly, causing the melody to end with an abrupt grunt as he tackles Antaria's waist, grabs a hold of her legs, takes a turning step to face sideways and SWINGS her around and over his head, performing one full rotation before lobbing her across the deck during the second with another Seismic Toss, the Minccino landing hard and rolling to a stop by one of the railings at the boat's side. Jack grins, though he looks a bit dozey still - and then winces a little, the poison in his system beginning to take effect. Drowsiness and Toxic is not a fantastic combo...

Back at the pool, Cynthia isn't about to let her foe get away so easily - closing some of the distance with a brief bit of nimble levitation, she dives into the pool, her keystone making a splash as it enters the water and gently settling down onto the pool's floor. Musical noise can be heard - that's probably Antaria's singing - but the water muffles it too much to be clear. Cynthia cackles as she makes her next trick; the shadow under her just-settled Keystone seems to grow out around her, obsidian-coloured ghostly energy crackling into it; while at first it's just the rock, something similar to Cynthia's swirling phantasmal mass forms, though spinning very, very quickly - and then all of a sudden a buzzsaw-like silhouette of energy stretches out of the gloom with surprising speed and slashes Nightlight with potent spectral power before receding, the Shadow returning to normal after a Sneaky attack. Reeling through the water, the Chinchou retaliates with an old classic; the water-muffled sound of building static can be briefly heard as once more the antenna lights shine, and then they're smacked together, the charge in both of them collecting together into another Thunderbolt, which shoots rapidly through the water, the Spiritomb now starting to become very familiar with the sensation of electrocution. One of her eyes gleams with malice as the electricity dissipates, though - Nightlight is again seized by the curse's power, screaming in surprised fear as it comes from nowhere. Spooky...

Jack is only a tiny bit worse off than he was last round, a fair way into his first third; he is followed by Antaria, who's still barely in hers, then Nightlight, who's a bit below the border of his, and finally Cynthia, who has slightly less than half her health left. Energy-wise, they're all still pretty close - they're all still within their first third, though the edge of it isn't too far. They're all good for two moves still.

Orders from Savage, please.

Let's keep these one on ones going, shall we?

Nightlight, continue your barrage against Spiritomb. While remaining at the bottom of the pool, use Supersonic to confused the bugger. Then zap it with a Charge Beam.

Jack... Hmm. How about we change course a little bit? Bulk Up, then use another Brick Break.

Ok.

Cynthia, move away from the pool so it can't hit you while staying down there, as you give the Tyrogue a Psychic, then a telekinetic Psychic to throw it in the pool.

Antaria, Dazzling Gleam the Tyrogue, and then Thunderbolt it after it's thrown in the pool.

Round 3:

Cynthia decides that she's had enough of messing with the Chinchou before her; the pitiful little fish isn't enough of a challenge alone. Thus, she turns to the side and starts to float away from the foe she's facing, using her ghostly powers of levitation to do so. In doing so, however, she leaves her back exposed to Nightlight, expecting to get away before he can get off some form of attack.

Turning your back to the enemy is, of course, not a fantastic idea.

At once, the Spiritomb's senses are overwhelmed as the sounds of the water around her are replaced with a stunningly-high pitched noise; Nightlight has seized the moment to assault her with a mighty burst of Supersonic sound! The ghost doesn't exactly have a brain to rattle, but as she bursts out of the pool - flying past the other two battlers as she does so - she still looks terribly confused as she comes to a stop.

Rewinding a moment, Jack decides through a haze of tiredness to increase his combat capabilities against his rodent foe to an even greater capacity; flexing his small but well-developed muscles, a crimson aura of fighting spirit forms around him - and empowers his arms, Bulking him Up somewhat. He looks all around tougher for it, ready to both take and deal out some physical punishment. Which is exactly what Antaria doesn't do! Once again, the Minccino's limbs light up with pastel pink energy that slowly builds in brightness - Jack is too busy flexing tired to react as fae power bursts off of Antaria in a Dazzling Gleam of light! Bathed once more in painful energy, he staggers back, now wide awake, maintaining eye contact with Antaria as best as he can - which is promptly disrupted as a swirling purple mass of ghost floats forth at high speed inbetween the two of them.

The two turn to regard Cynthia, who has swirls in both of her eyes from confusion. Even Nightlight pokes his head out of the pool to regard his handiwork. Antaria's fully expecting her to get to work - but despite some gesturing from the Minccino, the ghost is unable to recall what exactly she was supposed to do, sitting there while she desperately thinks. Antaria rolls her eyes with exasperation - and then gets socked in the face by Jack, taking a moment to seize a chance and land a blow. Slamming an elbow into her nose with the finesse of a Brick Breaking master even despite his iffy vision, the bolstered blow leaves Antaria squeaking with pain. As she recoils, clutching her battered nose, Nightlight continues his own one-on-one, this time targeting Cynthia with something new; building up energy not just to his potent antenna, but to his whole body, sparking electricity Charges all around him - and then with an almighty crackle of static, a large sum of that energy shoots off as a Beam that hits a bullseye right in the center of Cynthia's form, pumping a little more hurt on her ethereal form. What's more, it looks like he built up sufficient charge to empower himself; a few arcs and sparks return to him, and he looks a lot more powerful on the special front.

After yet another electrocution, Cynthia recoils before shaking slightly and twisting her ghostly form in the kind of manner that would suggest clutching one's head - if, you know, she had arms. Or a head. Uhm, anyway, my point is it looks like while a little of it lingers, most of the confusion got knocked out of her - and locking eyes with Antaria, the two decide it's time for a team attack. All of the green within Cynthia's vortex-like form slowly shifts in colour to a bright, glowing cyan as she glares menacingly at Jack. The Tyrogue tries to move to a defensive stance, but only gets halfway there before his body locks up - and the same cyan glow engulfs him. Nervously, his eyes flick around - and when he meets Cynthia's, full of mischievous malice, she cackles as she uses Psychic power to fling him back towards the pool. He hits the water with a hearty splash, but there's no severe impact against the floor of the pool - he seems mostly unhurt. As the telekinesis releases him, he swims up out of the pool to it's surface, gasping for air, thoroughly drenched - and is met by the sight of Antaria glowing bright yellow. Static arcs around the Mincinno's fur for a moment before she looses the Thunderbolt she's built; flying straight and true, like a javelin, it slams into Jack - who, in the midst of a sizable body of water, does not have a wonderful time with the attack by any stretch of the imagination. The electricity in the water doesn't perturb the half-electric Nightlight - though the curse afflicting him certainly does! Jack winces slightly too at the poison in his system taking greater effect as the round ends...

Health-wise, it's Antaria that has the most, not much below her first third. Following her is Jack, who's barely above half; Nightlight, who's barely below it; and finally Cynthia, close to her final third. As for energy, everyone is only just barely above the edge of their first third - with the exception of Cynthia, whose failure to execute Psychic means she's still a couple attacks away. Antaria has a whisper of fairy energy left, too little to do anything, and enough electric for another Thunderbolt. Cynthia has enough psychic to use any of her attacks of it at least once, maybe twice for the lighter ones. All of them are roughly good for two, but Jack, Nightlight and Antaria might want a break sometime in the near future. Very mild confusion still pesters Cynthia, Jack's toxic poison continues to build, and the curse will continue to ravage Nightlight.

Jack, stay in the pool. Use a quick Vacuum Wave on Spiritomb, then dive down for as long as you can and try to not get hit.

Nightlight, let's have some fun. Use Zap Cannon on Minccino, then a second Zap Cannon on Spritiomb. No fucks given.

Floating just at the surface of the water, Jack eyes up his target, giving a pensive glance towards his partner floating not too far away. Gritting his teeth, he draws his arm backwards through the air, igniting a sharp aura of dark brown energy around his fist as he does so. Shouting loud into the air, he brings his arm churning through the water with a practiced thrust, his innate strength allowing him to resist the considerable drag with ease. As his punch is completed, the orb rockets through the air towards Cynthia, and the Spiritomb hisses as it explodes over her body, the energy causing her ethereal body to spasm in mid air. Catching herself, she floats nearer the pool so as to grant herself a better vantage of her foe, and as she crawls ominously through the air, she fills herself with spiteful forces. A pulsing mist gathers above her, abruptly turning deep crimson as an eye forms from the phantasmal energies. Moments later, a lance extends forwards to strike the chest of Jack, the sadistic power contained within the blow leaves Jack stunned in pain for a moment, which gives Antaria enough time to open her mouth wide, putrid sludge dripping from the edges of her mouth. Choking out her response, she sends a huge gob hurtling through the air, but Jack is ready. Twisting his body, he darts beneath the water with confident strokes, leaving only his exposed lower body stricken by the attack, though from his muffled cries it still notably hurt.

Not content with his partner doing the heavy lifting, Nightlight pokes his antennae out of the water, slamming them together to create an almighty current. The sparking bolt of energy flowing between the two organs soon gathers into a dangerous looking orb, the construct spewing sparks into the surrounding water. With a demure cry, she throws the orb through the air, and the slow moving projectile is soon bearing down on Antaria. The Minccino is quicker than she looks though, deftly shifting to one side - though she cannot quite fully avoid the attack, her left side being stricken. Staggering as her body partially succumbs to paralysis, she winces, but her partner soon puts pay to her sacrifice. Hovering near the edge of the pool now, Cynthia cackles as she condenses ghastly energies down into an unstable sphere, the orb shuddering as it hangs in the air. With a loud cry, it is sent cleaving through the waters, exploding over the chest of Jack and forcing him to resurface for air ... only to see a huge orb of Electric energy pass through the ethereal part of Cynthia, the Spiritomb unable to dodge much of the attack from such a short distance.

Cynthia nearing critical health now, but remains good for two. Antaria is refreshed, but both are paralysed, Cynthia more so.

Jack had a slight breather but not a great one, just about good for two. He's into his final third, with Nightlight just above that marker. Nightlight is looking pretty tuckered though, after another rather heavy round.

Let's see... Jack, launch another Vacuum Wave at Spiritomb. Then Seismic Toss Minccino again.

Nightlight, Thunderbolt Spiritomb immediately after Jack Vaccum Wave's it.

Cynthia, see if you can't Destiny Bond the Chinchou.

Antaria, try a Dazzling Gleam into a Gunk Shot, both on the Tyrogue.

Having returned to the surface of the small pool, Jack glares at his most recent assailant, the Tyrogue clearly disgruntled by the beating handed to him by Cynthia in the previous round. This time the Spiritomb is entirely at his mercy, and he once again draws his arm back through the waters, priming a familiar attack. Cynthia tries to fight the immobilising paralysis preventing her escape, but her efforts are futile, groans the only thing she is capable of. With a crack, Jack's arm comes surging through the waters, a small sphere of shining brown energy hurtling into the body of Cynthia. Though she manages to just barely hang onto consciousness from the blow, her body is numbed from the paralysis, and this leaves Nightlight more than ample time to prepare his attack despite his fatigue. With a demure cry, he sends a crackling bolt into the body of Cynthia, and the Spiritomb finally succumbs.

Cynthia is unable to battle! Ironthunder, your final Pokemon please.

Watching the downfall of her partner, Antaria is clearly not a happy bunny, but the Minccino has other things to worry about. Mainly the paralysis seizing up the left side of her body, but also the fact that she actually lacks the type energy required to continue with her first order, that particular well having run dry a few rounds previous. Cursing her luck, she can only look on as Jack hauls himself from the pool, rushing over to her still figure. Grabbing her around the waist, he effortlessly hoists her into the air, twisting her deftly before slamming her down with reckless abandon into the decking beneath him. Antaria groans with pain, but quickly sets herself free, leaping backwards as best she can. Opening her mouth, she retaliates with a sickening choking noise, a huge gob of sludge smashing into the chest of Jack and sending him skidding across the deck.

Nightlight has just barely entered his final third, and is looking peppier. Jack isn't looking too hot, rapidly approaching critical, but is good for two if necessary.

Antaria remains pretty fresh, but is moving through her second third of energy at quite a pace. Approaching the end of her second third.

Terrance, to the field. Start well away from the pool, with a DCEQ on the Tyrogue, then another. Should it die, set up a Swords Dance instead of the second.

Antaria, set up a Sunny Day, then Facade on the Tyrogue.

Also, doesn't Minccino have more than one Fairy move? Pretty sure Baby-Doll Eyes is Fairy still...

Jack, Counter the first DC EQ. Then use Toxic on Cubone.

Nightlight, looks like you're not being attacked yet again. Hit Cubone with a Scald, then use Psybeam on Mincinno.

With Cynthia having finally succumbed, her trainer calls upon his next combatant, the determined figure of Terrence grunting as he locks eyes with his soon to be target. With a fluid motion, he sets off across the surface of the ship decking, raising his bone high into the air. A flick of his wrist later, and a whining brown aura envelops the weapon, but as Terrence brings it crashing down, he realises he has made an awful mistake. The body of Jack is shining with a fine red aura, his arms pulled into a defensive stance to soak up some of the blow. In a thrusting motion, the Tyrogue discharges the absorbed energy directly into the chest of his foe, knocking Terrence back a fair way. Distressed by this, Antaria creates a small orb of shining orange energy, discharging it into the sky where it manages to somehow intensify the heat of the light coming from the sun. This leaves Nightlight feeling a tad uncomfortable, but she still lets loose a scalding blast of super heated water, the torrent crashing into the body of Terrence ... and leaving him with a rather unfortunate burn. This sends the Ground type into a frenzy, and he once again delivers a vicious, swiping blow to the body of Jack ... with the Tyrogue this time succumbing to the tectonic energies forcibly sent through his frame.

Jack is unable to battle! Beautiful Savage, your next Pokemon please.

His partner defeated, Nightlight is far from amused. His antennae begin to vibrate with a mystical purple energy, and he abruptly discharges a spiraling beam into the face of Antaria. The Minccino screeches, her altered typing leaving her vulnerable to the mentally charged energy, and she thrashes in place. Finally, the assault dies down, but the Minccino decides that with Jack defeated, her attack is better not used, the awkward amount of thrashing not suited to the resistance of the water surrounding Nightlight.

Nightlight is hovering right on the final third of energy, and has been knocked into the final third of health due to Curse, but that has since faded. Psychic still has a reasonable shot left, and he is good for two.

Antaria has entered the final third of health, while Terrence has been thrust into his second already, and sustained a burn. He'll be pretty fresh, while Antaria enjoyed another breather this round.

Hope, you're up. Quickly set up a Cubic Reflect, then use a Psychic Wave on Minccino. If either uses Toxic, use that Psychic to redirect the toxins toward Cubone instead of attacking.

Nightlight, aim a Brine at Cubone's burn. Then catch Minccino with a Hydro Pump.
