Your arena for today:
Quote:
Playground: Battles here take part within a large, school Playground. The main battle will take place within the center of the park. The ground below is lawn, the grass kept cut short. Rocks can be easily summoned from underground for use in attacks like Stealth Rock, and attacks such as Earthquake will transmit readily. Surrounding the area will be numerous pieces of Playground equipment, ranging from swings to slides. These can be uprooted by Pokemon of sufficient strength, but this will be no easy task. Within reason, if one of the batters mentions positioning of an object, the battler is considered to be correct unless it contradicts a previous statement. There is a strange atmosphere permeating the entire arena, which will cause baby Pokemon to fight more enthusiastically. This arena is outdoors only.
Allons-y!

gl Sav. thanks for taking this DL.

-Emily the Ralts, level 1, female, HP Steel

-Zoro the Zubat, level 1, male, HP Ground

-Riki the Dedenne, level 1, male, HP Steel
Spoiler: show
Bio: Riki has an obsession with Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS. As do I, to an extent, but I have to rip the furball away from my console to actually practice battling, which is... also kinda like me. Anyway, his obsession with the game and the legendary Heropon (who he identifies with... somehow) has led to some rather interesting results on the battlefield.
Signature move: Riki use Arts!
Riki can now use three of his namesake’s Arts, namely Burninate, Freezinate and Bedtime. All the attacks deal solid damage of Fire, Ice and Psychic respectively, each with a 20% chance to inflict burns, localised freezing, or sleep.

-Darren the Darumaka, level 1, male, HP Rock
Spoiler: show
Bio: Darren was part of a gang of Tyrogue in Castelia City, which, as Tyrogue do, developed into three distinct groups: The punchers, the kickers, and the spinners. After a literal butt-ton of deciding, Darren decided to join the punchers, and in return they taught him the secret techniques of the punching master Hitmonchan.
Signature Training: Fists of Fury
Darren can now use Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Sky Uppercut and Meteor Mash, with the offtype to use each of them twice. He can never go into Zen Mode as a Darmanitan, and has lost the use of Overheat and Gyro Ball.

-Cadaver the Yamask, level 1, male, HP Ground
Spoiler: show
Bio: Being the soul of a dead person and all, Cadaver’s species tend to remember their former lives. For Cadaver, this was the life of a stage magician, with tricks to bewilder and astound the masses. Some of these passed over into his new existence as a Ghost-type.
Special Training: Hocus pocus, and shazam!
Cadaver has learnt Confuse Ray, Hypnosis and Sucker Punch. In addition, while still affected by diminishing returns, Cadaver's Astonish is affected by them less so, diminishing at half the normal rate.

-Erik the Shuckle, level 1, male, HP Grass
Spoiler: show
Bio: Sick and tired of being fairly bad at stalling, his main objective in combat, Erik resolved to change his ways. Training with the creatures of the forest such as Vivillon and Venusaur, he learnt and mastered stronger techniques so he could truly become one with the stall. He also created a brand-new powder move of his own. He also now sells various strange and mysterious powders in a back alley of Santalune City. “Obligatory ‘don’t do drugs, kids’”
Special Training: I got your powder stuff right here.
Shuckle has become a master of powders. He can secrete his own special brand of powder which causes the opponent to begin suffering from a burn, and the intense spicy aroma accompanying it will leave the foe with diminished vision for the next round (ordered as Chilli Powder). In addition, his mastery of powders has left him able to use them as well as any Grass type, and he has learned Powder, Sleep Powder, Poison Powder and Stun Spore. He can use each of them three times per battle.

OK, resquadded, and still leading with Zoro.

Round 1

Autumn leaves glide through the arena on this chilly fall day as two trainers approach the playground. The swings squeak as a light wind blows through them. Upon making it to their respective sides of the arena, the trainers each grasp a red and white sphere in their hands. They mirror each other movements, hurling the Pokeballs onto the grassy earth. A flash of white light suddenly brightens the area, before vanishing momentarily. A Zubat can be seen fluttering it's wings rapidly a few feet above the ground. His opponent, a Roggenrola, patiently awaits his orders to begin fighting.

Quote:
Zubat (Poison/Flying): Zubat are completely blind as they have no eyes. However, they use sonar to detect things, which means that they cannot be fooled by visual illusions (such as Double Team). Zubat have sensitive hearing, at the expense of increased vulnerability to sound based status attacks, but are immune to confusion from Supersonic. They fight more enthusiastically at night.
Roggenrola (Rock): Despite resembling an eye, the artifice on Roggenrola's face is actually an ear, making them effectively blind. However, this ear is extremely sensitive to vibrations both in the earth and the air, allowing them to detect their foe despite any visual obstructions. They are inorganic.
The sudden blow of the ref's whistle alerts the Pokemon to the start of the fight. Behemoth begins by crafting a solid orb of rock, intended to Smack his foe Down to his level. Within moments, the dull colored sphere is fired at Zoro. Utilizing his sonar to detect the attack, the Zubat acts quickly to attempt to avoid the incoming projectile. A show of midair Acrobatics allows Zoro to stay clear of the rock and avoid being sent hurtling towards the ground.

Undeterred by this turn of events, Behemoth continues his assault on his opponent. Two rings of Stones appear around himself, a total of ten of stones with sharpened Edges. Right away, the Roggenrola begins flinging the series of rocks at Zoro. A barrage of rocks quickly rain down upon the Zubat, slamming into his wings and face in a brutal display of force. The rocks break apart upon striking Zoro, a sharp screech of pain can be heard in the playground as the Zubat tumbles briefly in the air. Regaining his sense of balance in the air, Zoro decides that he's not fit to deal with his current opposition. A pale green glow of energy surrounds him as he dives straight for Behemoth. Zoro slams right into the Roggenrola, the attack doesn't appear to have harmed Behemoth that much. However, within moments of striking his foe, Zoro makes a U-Turn for his trainer, quickly vanishing back into his Pokeball as an ally with an odd appearance takes his place.

Quote:
Yamask (Ghost): Yamask carry around a mask resembling a human face. The mask is solid, but the rest of Yamask's body is ethereal. Though the mask appears to be a part of them, Yamask are actually only carrying it and it can use it to block small attacks using a move. Yamask may drop their mask in battle, but do not like to travel far from it and will always check to make sure that it is there after using a move. Yamask can go solid for short periods of time, but its bond with its mask prevents it from changing state for an extended period. They levitate by default.
Zoro has taken a harsh hit to start. Behemoth has taken a negligible amount of damage. Zoro has around half of his Bug energy remaining. Everyone is fresh and ready to go.

Round 2

With the expected bait switch having worked, Cadaver quietly stares at Behemoth as his mask begins to glow with a radiant shine. A small yellow Ray of light appears from the ornament, traveling in an erratic fashion. Behemoth however decides to create a Team of Doubles to try and avoid the incoming attack because he can sense air currents, or something. Sadly you can't dodge light by replicating yourself, so the light still fazes Behemoth somewhat, making it feel a little dizzy.

Cadaver is also confused at why his attack failed, and why did his opponent choose to Double Team. Not wanting to keep dwelling on it for much longer, Cadaver summons a purple Wind into the Playground, the ghastly gale obliterates the clones in an Ominous manner. Behemoth, the real one that is, is struck by the wind and tears into his rocky exterior. Not wanting his foe to have an easy time hurting him, Behemoth slams his face into the ground, summoning a series of Rocks which suddenly rise from below the earth to enTomb Cadaver.

Not much damage traded this round. Energy use from both 'Mons are alright, good for two.

Use Rock Slide to destroy the Rock Tomb with Yamask still inside, then Harden yourself to protect from incoming attacks.

Wait until the tomb collapses, then Energy Ball x2.

Shame Harden's just a physical defense buff.

Round 3

Starting off this round with a bang, Behemoth jumps into the air and slams straight back onto the ground, causing the nearby Rock Tomb to shake violently as the boulders Slide apart. Cadaver, who is inside of the tomb, isn't overly stressed since he knows that he's in the ethereal state, thus cutting down the damage dealt to him by the incoming broken boulders. And right on cue, a group of Rocks break in the Yamask, and scuffs up his mask to some degree. As the dust from the broken tomb clears, Cadaver picks up his mask. He charges Grass Energy into a green colored orb, which is currently held by his right hand, and flings the Ball at Behemoth. The projectile travels through the air rather swiftly, and explodes on the Roggenrola upon impact, dealing a harsh hit.

Behemoth decides to take some defensive maneuvers, and begins to Harden his body in order to decrease damage dealt by physical attacks. A white glow surrounds his body for a brief moment, before vanishing. Cadaver gathers Grass energy into his palm once more, creating yet another verdant Ball, and moves his arm as if he were throwing a baseball, firing the sphere aimed for his target. The projectile races through the air just as before, arriving at its target within seconds and shatters in Behemoth's face, dealing another heavy hit to the Roggenrola.

Behemoth has dropped to the halfway marker for health, and is currently desiring a break. Has a boost to physical defense. Cadaver hasn't taken much damage. Completely out of Grass energy, and a break is needed.

Round 4

With both combatants fatigued, they decide to lower their energy usage to catch a break. Cadaver starts this round off, he gathers dark purple Shadows between both of his hands, crafting the Ghostly energy into a Ball form. Cadaver takes aim at Behemoth, and with a high-pitched cry, launches the orb. The projectile travels at a relatively fast speed, and before long, the sphere collides with the face of the Roggenrola, exploding in a display of ghostly energy as Behemoth is pushed back from the force of the attack. Behemoth manages to regain his bearings within moments of the aftermath, a gleaming Flash of light appears in the sole ear of the Roggenrola. The white light quickly condenses into a shining beam, which is shot with the force of a Cannon for Cadaver. The sight of the incoming attack prompts the Yamask to shift states, solidifying his body as to lower the damage he will take. The shining stream of light pierces through Cadaver's solidified body, eliciting a cry from the Ghost Pokemon.

Both Pokemon are refreshed, Steel for Behemoth is at half. Behemoth has fallen beneath the midpoint for health.

Round 5

Yamask floats roughly 8 feet above ground, Sav.

---

Realizing that he has a reliable way to harm his foe, Behemoth's ear glows white briefly as a large amount of earthly-colored orbs circle around himself, displaying his Hidden Power for all to see. The spheres launch themselves right for Cadaver, who cleverly shifts his form into a solid state as to mitigate the damage he will take. The orbs rain down upon the Yamask, one after the other exploding on the Ghost type in a rapid pace. After the thin layer of smoke vanishes, Cadaver decides to return the favor. His eyes glow for a short moment, before an array of brown colored spheres surrounds himself in a similar manner as before. The orbs are all catapulted towards Behemoth, a shower of projectiles hail down before him, dealing harsh hits to his health. Before too long, the assault dies down, leaving Behemoth looking scuffed up as a result of Cadaver's Hidden Power.

Behemoth laments the size of his movepool, forcing himself to use the same attack as previous to actually deal damage that won't be cut in half. His ear glows white briefly once more as a large amount of earthly-colored orbs circle around himself, displaying his Hidden Power for all to see again. The spheres launch themselves right for Cadaver, who cleverly shifts his form into a solid state as to mitigate the damage he will take. The orbs rain down upon the Yamask, one after the other exploding on the Ghost type in a rapid pace. Wanting to make things trickier for his foe, Cadaver shifts back and forth to summon a Team of Doubles.

Cadaver is nearly out of the first third in health, and out of the first third for energy. He's good for two. No Ground type energy left. Behemoth has fallen below the last third in health, good for two. Cadaver has three clones at the moment.

Round 6

Wanting to throw any and all subtlety out the window, Cadaver along with his clones gather dark Shadows between the palms of their hands, a Ball-like shape forming. Their charging complete, the Yamask takes their aim at Behemoth, and launches the purple sphere. The projectile speeds through the air before reaching it's target, popping in a display of ghostly energies. Behemoth staggers from the blow, but is still able to continue with the match. Realizing that he's outnumbered, Behemoth seeks to even the odds. He begins to pace back and forth, creating a series of Doubles, who will Team up against his adversary.

In spite of this, Cadaver continues his assault. He quickly crafts a Ball of Shadows in his hands once more, and hurls it at his foe. Multiple spheres appear to be racing for Behemoth and his clones, and it's the second of the two clones he created that takes the real hit, vanishing out of existence forever. Cadaver curses himself under his breath for missing his real target. Behemoth and his clone retaliate for their fallen teammate who existed for a few seconds, by slamming their face into the ground. A series of Rocks appearing from the earth, only to Slide towards the opposing team of Yamask. The real Cadaver doesn't seem to be worried much since he knows that his ethereal state allows him to cut down on the damage taken. The rocks tumble into him and his clones, eliminating them from the world.

Behemoth is nearing critical health now, and the halfway of total energy. He is out of DT uses and has a single clone up. Cadaver has taken a small blow, and is at the halfway marker for total energy. Both Pokemon desire breaks.

Round 7

Knowing that his defeat is near, Behemoth opts to go for a full offensive approach. A Flash of bright silvery light appears in his ear canal thing that's also his face, before the energy condenses into a thin beam of Steel energy. As this is unfolding, his additional Double Team clone vanishes into thin air due to this move counting as offtype. As if backed by the force of a Cannon, the metallic beam of light is shot from the Roggenrola's ear. Cadaver shifts state from ethereal to solid before the attack reaches him, as to lower the amount of damage he will sustain. The bright silvery beam lances through Cadaver, dealing a good blow to his health. Afterwards, Cadaver retaliates. The Yamask summons a dark purple gale, Ominous in its nature. The mysterious Wind blows through the arena, striking Behemoth and pushing him back somewhat. The Roggenrola is evidently not looking healthy, closing into the last bit of his health.

Regaining his footing, Behemoth, despite panting still, decides to continue his assault on the opposing Yamask. His ear flashes white, before a group of bright green orbs surrounds him. The spheres are all hurled towards Cadaver, who is still in his solid form. The projectiles all race their way for their target, each one smacking into the Yamask before popping and dealing damage.

Behemoth is fallen into critical health, and his very tired due to not getting a break. His Steel type energy has run out. Cadaver is fresh, but has fallen around the midpoint of health.
