UPN PASBL: Gym Trainer Match - Son_of_Shadows vs. Fallen

Arena: The Ring

Spoiler: show
Surrounded by thousands of screaming fans, the main event at ASBMania is about to begin - can the brave challenger topple the mighty Gym Trainer, as he points at the ASBMania sign and ascends the ropes? Nope. Opponents of SoS are straight-up doomed to fail in his private wrestling ring.

It is a 16 by 16 feet canvas arena with elastic ropes surrounding it to pen in competitors. The top rope is 5 feet high. Pokémon can bounce off these ropes to add momentum to their attacks and slam opponents into them. Above the arena, at about 10 feet, is the ASBMania sign, glowing neon with more electricity flowing through it than is strictly necessary. Competitors are required to point at it upon entering the ring or risk disqualification (not really). The size of the sign though prevents flying above it. The ring is surrounded by cheering fans, who are loud enough to drown out the commentary team, thank God, because they're all abhorrent. However, the noise can be very distracting for Pokémon trying to perform Psychic-type attacks, causing them to take slightly longer to execute. Fighting types will fight very enthusiastically, enjoying the crowd.
The roar of the crowd deafens the two competitors as they enter the ring, incandescent light casting their faces in an eerie light. One of the trainers appears entirely in his element, his robe falling to the ground as he reveals his large, gaudy belt, and red-and-white capsules can be seen attached to the back of it. The other trainer appears a little intimidated by the surroundings but confident nonetheless, and he too has similar capsules at his hip. He grabs for one and tosses it into the air, which bounces noisily on the ground and opens with a crack that pierces through the audience's festivities. His opponent follows suit, and both spheroids blast red lightning to the ground as the outline of the chosen champions begin to emerge...

Welcome to today's fight! I'll be your pseudo-commentator for today, albeit the fact that you'll never hear me. It pays well at least. But without further adieu, let's see the squads!

Oh son, are you ready for EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEME RULES

Hawlucha, "Jude" (M), level 2
Biography: TBC
Signature: TBC
Hidden Power: Ghost

Heracross, "Max", (M), level [email protected]
Biography: The leader of a small horde of Heracross, Max was captured after a fierce battle with Grit. While he outmatched Grit in hand to hand combat, Grit’s Super Snipe technique was more than enough to put him down for good, leading to his capture. The two have been firm friends ever since, and have been learning from each other constantly. Max has even developed his own ranged attack dedicated to his own specialties of command as the leader of a tribe
Signature: Infantry Rush
This technique allows Max to gather up heavy Bug energy and command a wave of small, lime green, Infestation like projectiles to attack the foe and cling to them. This deals considerable damage and leaves them thoroughly irritated throughout the next round. This forces them to use more energy and concentration to perform attacks, allowing them to be more easily flinched out of their moves.
Hidden Power: Electric

Hitmonchan, "Irishman", (M), level 3
Biography: Irishman is known for three things. Chronic alcoholism, remarkable jigging ability, and hating the English, especially Connor. He was encountered when SoS took a trip to his local watering hole, only for the Hitmonchan to have come down from the mountains after stealing the booze of some campers and wanting more. When the bartender refused to serve the Pokémon, he went berserk, starting a bar brawl, which SoS brought to a close by cracking a pool cue on his head. This somehow earned him the boxer's respect, and they split a Guinness in celebration. As it happens, the black stuff has a profound effect on Pokémon biology however, and Irishman learned the power of ranged fighting.
Signature: Special Training - Shadow Boxing
Irishman now has the ability to launch some of his energy-based punching moves as projectiles; specifically Fire, Thunder, Ice, Drain and Dynamic Punch. However, these ranged attacks are not affected by the boosted strength of Irishman's punching attacks as defined in his species characteristic and cost an extra minor in energy to be used in this fashion, though at close range, they function as normal. However, as a consequence, he has forgotten how to use Focus Blast and kicking moves completely.
Hidden Power: Ghost

Mankey, "Chestnut", (M), level 2
Biography: TBC
Signature: TBC
Hidden Power: Ghost

Pignite, "French Toast", (F), level 2
Biography: TBC
Signature: TBC
Hidden Power: Steel

Meditite, "Warrior", (M), level 2
Biography: TBC
Signature: TBC
Hidden Power: Steel

Level 3 Male Charmeleon

Level 2 Female Slowpoke

Level 2 Male Scyther

Mephistopheles, Male Gastly, Level 2

Mephistopheles has always had a penchant for casting interesting curses on others. Normally, these curses are harmless, just designed to cause comical grief for his amusement. However, despite his nature as a playful trickster, he does have a vengeful streak. Only a few curses in his book are labeled “for enemies,” and only one of which being his own invention.
Signature Technique: Soulfire [Ghost]
Mephistoplehes gathers a solid amount of energy and fires a ball of Ghost energy in the form of a pale violet colored flame, which upon contact with an enemy, inflicts the status “Corruption”. Three rounds after the round in which Soulfire is used, Corruption will activate, dealing mild typeless damage to the afflicted for each Ghost-typed attack to hit it while the curse is active, capping at major damage. Corruption, like any other status affliction, can be shed by Refresh. If Corruption reaches its cap before three rounds is up, it activates prematurely, but always at the end of the round. Corruption does not disappear upon switching out, and will activate regardless at the end of the three rounds after the afflicted is in combat. Corruption can be used successfully once per target.

Level 2 Male Riolu

Level 2 Female Noibat

Noibat, time for a debut.

Alright, here we go. Ahem.

FALLEN!

You talk a damn big game son, and you've shot through the popularity ranks like nooooo other! A TL1 tipped to be the next great thing - but that doesn't mean a DAMN thing to this man! You and I were both prime Grand Melee candidates, but the RNG favoured neither of us! WELL HERE I TELL YOU TODAY, THAT THIS! IS OUR OWN! GRAND MELEE! I am putting you back in your place with the rest of the TL1s, and ending this hot streak once and for all!

Helping me do so today is the one! The only! CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEESTNUUUUUUUUUUUUUT

Bring that puny fucker down to the mat. Lay the Smack Down and pin him in a Body Slam, bouncing off the ropes to add momentum. If he tries to Supersonic, drown him out with a focused Uproar instead of whatever you're doing.

Immediately land on the ground to lessen the jarring impact of the Smack Down. Release a Supersonic to force his Uproar, and then whip up a nasty Hurricane to rock his world.

The crowd takes a collective intake of breath as the first two combatants in the match are revealed, and then the roaring begins once more as on one side appears Chestnut the Mankey, who grins and eats up the audience's adulation. On the other side is an as of yet unnamed Noibat, who looks about at the ring in slight awe of its grandiose trimmings. She looks briefly at her opponent, deciding the best course of action for the moment is to be on the ground, which turns out to be correct as the Mankey summons a rock from who knows where and hurls it right at the Noibat, with the intent to smack her down out of the air. As she isn't in the air, it doesn't really affect her flying abilities, but still comes down on her for the full damage as she lets out a small screech. This screech slowly begins to build, to the point that Chestnut is a little bit confused and concerned about his foe's well-being, but it suddenly begins rapidly approaching supersonic levels. The Mankey, prepared for this conclusion, stops his approach that he'd been doing and instead begins his own uproar, attempting to drown out the Noibat's painful whine. That's a whole lot of noise. Even the audience begins to cover their ears as these two loudspeakers duke it out, and although they both manage to take the edge off of each other's blows, Noibat being extraordinarily good at making loud noises leaves the Mankey affected somewhat in his head, which Noibat takes most of the damage from the almost solid wave of sound. Chestnut has worse things to be worried about than being confused, however, as the Noibat begins flapping her small wings at an enormous rate, and whips up winds that reach almost hurricane levels of speed. With Chestnut holding onto the ring's ropes for dear life as his body sails horizontally in the gale, Noibat finally ends her assault, a bit tuckered and her wings not wanting to do much else for the time being. The Mankey climbs back into the ring, a little shaken, but ready for some more action as he glares at the annoying bat.

Noibat has taken an early lead on health, but nothing insurmountable. She'll be a bit exhausted to start with, but should recover quickly enough. Chestnut will be good for two, and his Rock energy still has quite a bit left. Fallen to order.

Requesting cancellation; I want the slot back and I highly doubt Fallen is returning at this stage.
