Challengers wishing to take on Dream Breaker in Shipwreck Cove must first pass through the tremulous waters of the Resplendent Rapids, a river hidden deep within a long since forgotten forest. The main battling site of the arena is a fast flowing river, which will prove incredibly difficult and taxing to maneuver for those who are not entirely native to swimming. The water itself is fairly deep, resting at a respectable 30 feet at the deepest point. The riverbed is sloped somewhat steeply at first, and as a consequence, most battling within the river will take place at roughly 15 feet deep. The river flows fast, and the currents can be used for maneuvering underwater. The water is brilliantly clear, making it easy to see underwater, but likewise to see out of and into, leaving very little room to hide. The riverbed itself is easily shifted, and will accommodate moves such as Earth Power readily, but Earthquake and it's ilk which require more firm ground will be severely affected.

At the center of the river lies a number of flat platform rocks. Each of them will provide a more than stable foothold to any land based Pokemon attempting to do battle, and they protrude a good 2 feet from the surface of the water. The platforms are of indiscernible size, about as big as is necessary, and will hold the weight of almost any Pokemon ordered to stand upon them, within reason.

The banks of the river are rich in magnetically charged minerals, which adorn the ground leading into the river. These minerals will alter the trajectory of any Electric- type attacks entering the water from the banks of the river slightly, the degree of which should not be too extreme and will be down to referee discretion. These minerals will not affect attacks which are used underwater, their influence not being strong enough to do so.

On either side of the river rests dense forest, the trees being spaced barely feet apart. The high concentration of roots beneath the surface mean there are very few rocks available for use to attacks such as Rock Tomb, meaning most Pokemon will need to rely on the more energy intensive versions. The trees themselves are non-specifically tall, but the height must be kept within a reasonable range, down to referee discretion. A good number of the trees have branches overhanging the river, though these are few and far between, and are somewhat thin, not supporting the weight of some of the larger Pokemon. The banks of the river itself are incredibly sloped, and footing is bad, meaning falling into the river is dangerously easy. Pokemon swept into the river will struggle to remove themselves once they are trapped, and will become somewhat tired unless they are particularly strong swimmers or climbers.

Kanami: Female Lombre
Lombre: Though able to swim and stay underwater for a fair amount of time, Lombre are not the best swimmers and prefer to stay near the surface of the water. Lombre are capable of restoring more health and energy then grass Pokémon normally get in the rain.
Biography: Kanami is regarded a relic, having lived an uncharacteristically long time for her species. Having inhabited a deep, underground spring of fresh water, she is acquainted with numerous other Pokemon, most notably a conglomeration of genuine ancients - Pokemon such an Relicanth and Armaldo were abundant in her habitat. As such, she studied their arts quite regularly, with the lily pad atop her head slowly becoming much more dull in colour, and flaking at the edges with age. This change, almost a petrification of the plant life atop her head, awoke within her body a very special ability.
Signature Training – Petrification:
Kanami has managed to alter the properties of Petal Dance, adopting the move as her own and changing it to Rock- type. This manifests in the form of a Petal Dance wherein all of the petals fired are petrified and hard, meaning in Realistic they can cause minors cuts to the opponent. Kanami has type energy enough to use this specialised version of Petal Dance twice per battle, and may not use the standard version of Petal Dance.
Hidden Power: Electric

Level 2

Hime: Female Goldeen
Goldeen: Seaking are excellent swimmers, but are helpless on land. They fight more enthusiastically when submerged and in a sizable body of water. They can swim against incredibly powerful currents and are much more likely to get out of attacks like Whirlpool. Their Waterfall attack takes half the normal energy to perform and attacks made using their horn are 1.2x more powerful. They can see in the dark.
Biography: Hime is, to put it bluntly, not at all your typical Seaking. Forsaking such common traits as elegance, she decided instead to live a much less dainty lifestyle. Becoming an overbearing fan of anime, she quickly became attached to Gurren Lagann. One of the characters in particular inspired her, his quote “Who the hell do you think you are? Isn't your drill the one that will pierce the heavens, the earth, and through to tomorrow?” quickly becoming a favourite of hers. This quote eventually became the basis for her own Signature Move, her sheer admiration of Kamina resulting in a tireless dedication to training with her own horn.
Signature Move – Drill that will Pierce the Heavens:
Having trained tirelessly with utilising her horn, Hime can now imbue the tip of her horn with Electric-, Grass- or Flying- type energy, before spinning rapidly and ramming herself into her foe. This attack will deal Considerable damage for Significant energy, and may only be used twice per energy type, and up to three times total per battle. Hime can no longer use Horn Drill, Giga Impact, Skull Bash or Take Down, believing them all to be obsolete uses of her brilliant weapon. This attack must be ordered as 'Pierce the Heavens - [XX]', where XX corresponds to one of the three types.
Hidden Power: Flying

Nanami: Female Remoraid
Remoraid: Remoraid is a fish Pokémon, so it is almost helpless on land. It has excellent accuracy, and its attacks have a greater chance of hitting.
Biography: Nanami is a prodigal child, the genius of her small clan. As a consequence, she was directly selected to become the head of their small sect, inheriting the skills of the previous head before challenging him in single combat. Emerging victorious, Nanami became the sole leader, before deciding to travel the world on a soul searching mission. Her long and arduous trek allowed her to refine her clan's style further, managing to eclipse all those came before.
Signature Move - Kyotouryuu: Dandelion:
Using Major Ghost- type energy, Nanami crafts a small dart before her. The dart is simple in design, but extends at the back, forming a flower like structure. When shot towards the foe, the dart will spin rapidly, inflicting Heavy Ghost- type damage upon striking. When used against Ghost- types, this attack will force them into the Solid state for the next three rounds, functioning much like Foresight. Kyotouryuu: Dandelion can only be used once per battle.
Hidden Power: Dark

Wilhelm: Male Slowpoke
Slowpoke: The slowest Pokémon. However, it goes into battle as if it had one Amnesia in effect. A Slowpoke will potentially evolve early if a Shellder bites its tail or head: wild Shellder may do this, or a Slowpoke's ally may do so. An enemy Shellder will never bite a Slowpoke willingly. Once the Shellder and Slowpoke are connected, they share a symbiotic bond that cannot be broken, thus, they will count as one Pokémon.
Biography: Wilhelm comes from a long line of royally acclaimed Slowking. His ancestry can be traced back countless years, and he is keenly aware of this. The royal blood coursing through his veins sits as a monumental pride for him, and he isn't afraid to let others know it. Despite his haughty actions, Wilhelm is an adept battler, and will stop at nothing to ensure any and all threats to his current subjects is quickly and ruthlessly neutralised.
Signature Training - A King Must React Faster:
Wilhelm, unlike any other of his species, is very quick to react to incoming danger. While his body cannot match his surprising reflexive ability, this instinctive talent will manifest in Wilhelm being able to avoid slower moving attacks with a much higher success rate, as well as being able to manouevre partial hits with greater ease.
Hidden Power: Rock

Emonzaemon: Male Clauncher
Clauncher: Clauncher's large claws act much like a cannon, granting a 10% boost to any moves fired from it. Though only decent swimmers, they can also use the exhaust from their claw to propel themselves on land and in water. They prefer to walk along the bottom of the water. They fight more enthusiastically when submerged and in a sizable body of water.
Biography: Emonzaemon. The greatest ninja of his age, and the last known survivor of the Aioi clan. Traveling the world, forlorn and alone, he finally happened upon a single star within his life, and dedicated the remainder of his days to her service. Bestowed with immense power by the heralded beauty, Emonzeamon became her sworn retainer, tasked to follow her every command.
Signature Move - Ento Ju ...:
... Revolver - Shooting a small dart of typeless energy, Emonzaemon inflicts Moderate Typeless damage upon his foe, for Solid energy. The dart has a secondary effect of carrying a potent toxin, and will inflict the stricken Pokemon with the Poison status.
... Glock - Shooting a small sphere of superheated water, Emonzaemon inflicts Moderate Water- type damage upon his foe, for Solid energy. This sphere is intensely hot, and will leave a small, localised burn at the impact point.
Hidden Power: Grass

Yui: Female Chinchou
Chinchou: Chinchou are fish and thus are slow and nearly immobile on land, but are faster and more agile in the water. They fight more enthusiastically when submerged and in a sizable body of water. Whenever a Chinchou uses an electric attack in the water, it creates a small amount of electricity around it, shocking anything in the water with it within 10 feet of it (damage is considered equal to half a Thundershock for the most powerful electric attacks. They may also use their antenna as a light source in the same way that the Mareep family does with their tails.
Biography: Yui has a fascination with the land, specifically with the way plant life is both so hardy and incredibly well distributed. This has led to her considering how her energies may be better used for the manipulation of the Grass- type, and she spent a long time developing her Hidden Power attack, aware that it consumed Grass- type energy. Eventually, with a little help from Arturo and other Grass- types amongst Connor's squad, Yui became much more adept at controlling Grass- type energy, to the extent of being able to learn certain attacks from them.
Signature Training - Horticultural Appreciation:
Yui has gained access to Energy Ball and Petal Blizzard, with type energy enough to use the former twice per battle.

1. Butterfree, "Nectar", (M), level 2
Biography: Nectar is named for his addiction to the substance, and is always carrying an extra supply, which he has learned to weaponise against his foes. Captured as a humble Caterpie, he was SoS' first Pokémon, raised from childhood to become a kickass fighting force. Butterflies rule man. His close relationship with his trainer has been pushed with the expansion of his roster, but Nectar is the de facto leader of the team, and a complete badass to boot.
Signature: Special Attack - Nectar Bomb
Using considerable energy, Nectar spits a blob of... nectar at his opponent, which detonates on impact for solid Bug type damage. The nectar sticks to the opponent, making it more difficult for them to move and slowing them down until it is washed off or 3 rounds have passed. While the nectar is on the foe, powder-based attacks are more effective against them, as the powder is able to stick to it.

Biography: Chanteuse belonged to a small troupe of performers, and she was their star dancer, as well as backup vocalist in many cases. But she longed for the spotlight and centre stage with her beautiful voice, feeling that her cuteness as a Smoochum and later beauty as a Jynx placed her above the rest of her troupe. This attitude got her booted to the kerb, where she happened upon SoS, performing with Theatric at the time. Joining in their performance earned her rapturous applause, and she blew kisses to the crowd... Unfortunately, the passion she put into these kisses turned out to be a little fiery, leading to the trio being run out of town as arsonists. But nevertheless, a lifelong friend and performer was made.
Signature: Special Training - Passionate Kiss
Chanteuse's kissing moves now take considerable energy to perform due to the immense amount of effort and passion in each and every one, but this passion manifests itself in fire energy. Each kiss is now half Fire energy and can deal Fire type damage as a result. The shock of these kisses allow them to inflict paralysis, but only if Chanteuse makes direct contact.

Round 1: Gently Please

After a promise to each other to be gentle this battle, S_o_S releases a fluttering Volbeat out over the river, it's tail shining brightly even in the daylight. In response, Connor releases a favorite of mine, Nanami the Remoraid. Because Remoarids and Volbeats are cool. S_o_S it's your job to secure my Volbeat whims this match. Anyways, Nanami's quick to go off the initiative. She pokes her little silver head out from one of the rapid, locking onto Reid in the sky. A fine jet of inky blackness shoots from his mouth, hitting Reid in both the chest and face. He gives a shake, attempting to get some of it off of him. A little irritation can be see in his eyes, but it shouldn't have too much of an effect at this point, the Volbeat's reactions saving him from too much hindrance. In return, Reid flicks his tail, sending a beam of light down at Nanami. It passes over her, causing her to begin to swim in circles on the water's surfaced, obviously confused out of her mind. She begins hearing voices as well, and they're apparently telling her to shriek as loud as she can. As she ponders what this means, her confusion gives Reid a chance to flutter higher, his tail glowing even brighter than before. However, before it can reach full brightness, the voices finally crack Nanami's thick fish brain, and she begins screaming maniacally, or however it sounds when a fish screams. I wouldn't really know. Anyways, it stops Reid's tail short of full sparkly glowy goodness, and befuddles his mind about as badly as his opponent's, leaving the river full of completely confuzzled wackos. Way to go guys.

Round 2: Cheers Mates Pip Pip Cheerio

As the two trainer's attempt to affect my vocabulary and dialect, both Pokemon set off to clear their minds of any confusion. Reid's head begins to illuminate a soft pink for a few brief seconds while Nanami simply stairs straight ahead with intense focus. Reid is the first to shake his head clear, and almost immediately, his tail illuminates brightly once more. Nanami soon follows suit, refocusing her mind on the tasks at hand. Poking out of the water, flames start to erupt inside of her mouth, steadily growing larger. Beginning small, but steadily growing bigger, a stick-figure like arrangement of flames shoots from the little Remoraid's wide open mouth. Moving a bit slow, it makes its way to Reid, who attempts to avoid the center of the attack, making the tail end of his charging less efficient. Nevertheless, they singe him almost completely, leaving him looking much more roughed up than his foe, hovering around his second third while the fish remains untouched. Both can still go for two, though Reid is noticeably in better shape fatigue wise.

Round 3: Cibbir Abuses His Pokemon By Feeding Them Ink

Smirking at her success, Nanami's mouth widens once more, showing off her tiny pearly whits in the glinting sunlight. As her attack charges, Reid's body begins crackling with shocking yellow strands of electricity. Both attacks shoot forth simultaneously; a stream of icky water rockets between the two and a jagged line of sparks fly into the crystal river. The filthy water finds its target in Reid's chest, thought a smallish medium portion of the electricity is pulled towards the shore. Nevertheless, a sizeable portion meets its mark, causing Nanami to squirm as many bubbles rise to the surface. She swims back and forth quickly, being both tricky and trying to swim off the pain as Reid's tail sparks up once more. With a buzz and a flick, another arcing round of lighting shoots into the water, zig zagging right through the bubbles Nanami left where she was swimming a second ago. However, the electricity travels rapidly through the water, still giving the minnow a respectable bit of ouch, despite some of the juice being fed to Cibbir's Ribbir's Mineral Farm, where you can buy cheap rocks you'll find anywhere for outrageous prices since Cibbir's gotta make a living somehow, right? Anyways, Reid's Electric energy's around the last third of a tank, while his health sits in the second third. Nanami's health is clinging to the first third, and she's looking pretty upstart at the moment, while her foe's panting somewhat.

Round 4: Cunt

Coming off of his easy round with a newfound vigor, Nanami swiftly juts her head out of the water, taking aim at her fluttering foe. With a spurt, she launches one volley of pebbles at the bug, and that assault is soon followed by another of the same force. Reid tries to zip around the rocks, and he manages to get out of the way of the first wave so that it doesn't hit any vital areas directly. He drops closer to the rapids as his wings shake violently, warming the area around him and creating an unbearable buzzing noise. However, Nanami soon finds out the audible assault is only a distraction as crimson waves of energy push her under the surface recoiling. She won't be put down that easily, though. She darts upwards, making a small hop into the air, and sniping Reid with a compact orb of stoney Rock energy. The forceful ball strikes the Volbeat in the chest, and it sends him plummeting into the water, leaving him to push and kick on the surface. Luckily for him, at thise pace he'll collide with some of the rock platforms by the end of next round, but it'll take a while for his wings to dry. Not too great considering he's just outside his final third of health while his foe has only just left her first third. Nanami has enough Rock energy for another weaker attack of the type, but both are good for two.

Round 5: It Was a Shame How He Carried On

As her foe struggles to stay afloat, Nanami darts downwards, circling beneath Reid as she gradually picks up speed. Feeling himself beginning to be dragged underwater, Reid channels electricity into his tail looking to put a stop to this. However, he finds himself choking on the water rushing towards him, as well as choking because of the downwards pull of the whirlpool now surrounding him. The electricity in his tail giving him small jolts doesn't help either. He attempts to locate his foe, but the immense discomfort proves to be too much, and the electricity simply disperses, not being enough to do any real damage to anyone, only boosting the Volbeat's discomfort. Cheeks wide, he finds himself underwater and trapped by a fast moving whirlpool. Out of the corner of his eye, he spots a silvery speck, but it soon turns into a dark brown orb, getting larger by the second. He wonders what it is, but then it hits him *Ba Dum Tish*. Bubbles erupt from his mouth from the impact of the orb, and he glares at the fish on the other side of the rapid waters. He attempts to maneuver towards him, but is unable to power through the current. However, he then feels something hard and firm behind him. He looks behind him and finds the rock platforms, a possible saving grace if he can climb on top. But for now, he's into his final third of health and about five feet underwater. Luckily, he doesn't need a break, but while her foe is a bit more winded, she's good for two as well. Nanami's out of Rock energy, while Reid's Electric is just a little worse off than before since the attack failed before it was near being fully charged.

Round 6: When Challenger Peer Into Cibbir's Ribbir



Reid manages to turn himself around, now facing his only chance of survival. Peering behind him before beginning the ascent, he spots a flicker of silver darting towards him. In an attempt to delay his foe, his body vibrates feverishly, creating a loud, odd noise, and causing a few red waves to slice through the current. Reid observes Nanami squirm as they collide with her body, so he continues climbing. Nanami, however, recovers from the attack rather quickly, her desire for carnage to strong to halt. With haste, she speeds off nearer her foe, whom has just manages to poke his head out of the water. Nanami rises in pace, sucking in water as she rises. She stops herself about a foot down, even with Reid's torso, and beginning with one nasty squirt, a jet of ink spews from her mouth, covering Reid's wings and slamming his body against the rock. He cringes above the surface, but nevertheless manages to heave himself up onto the top of the platform, lying on his back and sucking wind. It's obvious he'd enjoy a break after the strain of swimming and climbing, but his opponent appears nice and fresh. Reid is barely outside of critical, while his foe is below the midpoint of health.
