Thank you for refereeing, and the battle.

Praan: Level 4 Male Lucario (Uplevel)

Spoiler: show
Quote:
Lucario (Fighting/Steel): Lucario is very sensitive the energies ("aura") of Pokémon. Using a move, Lucario can close its eyes and sense the location of a Pokémon. This can be sustained indefinitely as long as Lucario's eyes are closed.
Since his birth, Praan had been living in a kingdom ruled by King Emboar and Queen Serperior, his best friend being a Larvesta being Surya. He had always had a crippling fear of the water. The children in the kingdom had a lot of freedom, and were even allowed to play in the castle grounds. However, everyone still feared and respected the rulers, due to which, they were all very polite and courteous to the princess, a Purrloin, the adoptive daughter of the two rulers, because of the fear that they shall be severely punished if they angered the princess. The princess would often join the children in their games, and everyone tried to look pleased with her presence, but the amount of people who really cared for her as a friend after all these years was debatable. It was possible that everyone had merely put up a facade in an attempt to get a good impression on the king and queen, and were more concerned about their own well-being.

However, all doubt was eventually cleared when the princess disappeared, and a rumour that she had been captured by an extremely dangerous monster spread throughout the kingdom. No one was quite sure who had spread these rumours, but this belief grew strong, reinforced by the fact that the princess was missing for several days. The rumour stated that the princess was being held at a certain location across the seas that was linked to the fear of anyone who tried to reach it. Over the years, Praan, and his friend, Surya had grown quite close to the princess, and were the only ones willing to attempt to rescue her, even though they knew the consequences. They went on an adventure to reach the location where the princess was supposedly being held captive, but were eventually separated due to an accident. The rest of Praan's journey forced him to travel through many places close to the water.

Eventually, Praan somehow managed to get to his destination, re-uniting with Surya in the process, the Larvesta apparently having taken an underground route to get there. However, when the two went to confront the princess' captor, it was revealed that the princess had hidden herself away there on purpose. She had been feeling lonely, knowing that almost no one actually cared for her, and only the ones who really did would come for her if she had been held captive, having spread the rumours with the aid of Gubbara the Drifloon. It was then that Riolu realized that he had overcome his crippling fear of water to reach there, having managed to actually come into terms with it, and even make it an ally.

Hidden Power: Flying

Special Move: Aquatic Retreat

Using significant energy, Praan shrouds himself in an aura of Water Type energy, sending part of it towards the opponent to deal moderate damage. The attack is released in the form of a middle-sized, glowing sphere. Praan uses the rest of the energy cloaking him to retreat to his Pokeball. Like Baton Pass, U-Turn, etc. this passes on certain stat boosts, and mental conditions. Praan has the Type energy to use this move twice per battle. During his adventure, Praan had forgotten how to use the moves Detect, Earthquake, Toxic, Swords Dance, Copycat, Iron Defense and Screech, no longer being able to use the moves.

Item Attached: Lucarionite

Surya: Level 3 Male Larvesta

Spoiler: show
Quote:
Larvesta (Bug/Fire): Larvesta shoots fire from the five horns around its face. It moves mainly by crawling, and although somewhat slow at first, it can build significant momentum, especially when done in tandem with its ability to issue fire.
Surya used to be quite the timid Pokemon, being extremely afraid of darkness. He felt drawn to sunlight, but somewhere where sunlight cannot reach terrified him. Due to this, he never willingly went underground. However, his friend, a Purrloin, had mysteriously disappeared without any traces, rumours stating that she had been taken to an island by a terrifying monster. Although he did not want to take a risk and go looking for her, Praan the Riolu eventually persuaded him into doing so, the Larvesta reluctantly accompanying him to their destination. The two searched for some way or the other to cross the sea, but could not find a solution.

Due to an accident, however, the two were separated, neither knowing how to find the other. Having looked for a way to cross the sea in vain, Surya decided to conduct some research himself and find another route. The studious Larvesta found a few books on the topic of the island, and discovered that there was actually an underground route. Although he was petrified of the thought of going through it at first, he knew that he was expected to do so. Steeling his will, he entered the tunnel. The trip took days, and he always felt uncomfortable due to the perpetual lack of sunlight. Finally, he decided that he could not endure it anymore, and attempted to create his own light. To his surprise, he found it quite easy to release light similar to the Sun's rays from his body. Relieved to finally be able to see things clearly, he managed to reach his destination.Surya used to be quite the timid Pokemon, being extremely afraid of darkness. To his surprise, he found it quite easy to release light similar to the Sun's rays from his body. Relieved to finally be able to see things clearly, he managed to reach his destination.

Hidden Power: Ground

Special Training: Suraj

When Surya is sent out, if applicable, the sunlight shall turn harsh for five turns, functioning similar to an automatic Sunny Day. While travelling, Surya forgot how to use Magnet Rise, Flare Blitz, Double-Edge, Toxic, Harden, Amnesia and Light Screen. He shall lose Hyper Beam and Giga Impact upon evolution. Also, ironically, he forgot how to use Morning Sun and normal Sunny Day.

Mendakh: Level 3 Male Frogadier

Spoiler: show
Quote:
Frogadier (Water): Frogadier is quite agile and able to scale and cling to horizontal and vertical surfaces for a short period of time. It has an extremely keen sense of aim, and is able to reliably hit targets with projectiles even at a significant distance.
Mendakh has always been interested in battling stealthily, taking advantage of moves like Smokescreen and Camouflage to hide and take his opponent by surprise. Due to his lack of diversity with his offensive movepool, he commonly finds himself being walled by quite some opponents. Deep inside him, he wants to take an offensive route, too, but knows that this will just lead to him being taken down soon, the opponent resisting his barrage of attacks. He had always been thinking of ways in which he could safely take an offensive route in battle like most of the other people in the squad could, but he seemed to be stuck at a dead end.

This, however, did not last once he encountered a wild Gloom. The Poison Type managed to inject toxins into Mendakh's body, while resisting his favourite, Water Type attack. Throughout the battle, Mendakh had a sick feeling inside his body. He could feel that the dreadful substance that had been injected inside his body was whittling him down, weakening him slowly and surely. Although he lost the battle when the Gloom paired this strategy with some typespam, he felt that he had finally found what he had been looking for so long. An excellent mix of stealth and reliable damage was... poison, which he proceeded to research about.

Hidden Power: Ground

Special Training: Poison Dart Frog

Mendakh is now familiar with Poison Type moves, and has gained Sludge Wave and Venoshock as moves. However, in return, Mendakh has lost the ability to use Power-Up Punch, Rock Smash, Confide, Return, Attract, Rock Tomb, Smokescreen, Taunt, Swagger, Spikes and Camouflage. As a Greninja, he will also lose access to Giga Impact, Hyper Beam, Hydro Cannon and Night Slash. Mendakh has lost his resistance to Fire Type Moves, too, and will be neutral to Psychic Type moves as a Greninja, due to being familiar with the Poison Type having meddled with his resistances.

Aasha: Level 3 Female Togetic

Spoiler: show
Quote:
Togetic (Fairy/Flying): Despite their appearance, they are fast and agile fliers. Togetic can be trained only by trainers that make them happy, so Return is more powerful when used by one.
As a Togepi, Aasha was an extremely excellent runner despite her tiny limbs, having the stamina and speed to match even the fastest of Pokemon when it came to simply running. Even her Pokéathlon statistics gave her the maximum rating for both speed and durability in this field. She loved competing in the Pokéathlon competitions, where she slowly grew faster and faster over time. In the rare occasions when she actually participated in a battle, she focused on speed a lot, appearing to gain sudden boosts in speed when she performed certain motions. It was as if running fast was like an art to her. It came naturally, but still had room for improvement.

However, certain changes indicated that Aasha was about to evolve, and as widely known, a Togepi's evolution are much better at flight than movement on foot, and Aasha decided to prepare for the change as well as she can. She developed a love for jumping, growing extremely light footed. The signs of her evolution becoming surer and surer, she started to become able to maintain bursts of speeds in the air. As evolution drew closer, she only grew better.

Hidden Power: Ground

Special Move: Godspeed

Aasha cloaks herself in white, typeless energy, and flies towards her opponent at a pace rivaling Quick Attack. However, Aasha has great control over this movement, and can make even sharp turns while executing this move. She rams into the target, dealing considerable tyepless damage, then quickly retreats as far from the opponent as possible. After she uses this move, Aasha is left with a speed boost. Standard boost stipulations apply. If Aasha cannot fly for some reason, she shall simply leap as high into the air as possible and use the energy surrounding her to propel herself in the air and perform this move. This move requires severe energy to perform, and can only be used twice per match. While developing this move, Aasha forgot how to use Toxic, Double-Edge, Protect, Detect, Psyshock, Extrasensory, Morning Sun and Soft-Boiled. Upon evolution, she also loses Roost.

Pret: Level 3 Male Haunter

Spoiler: show
Quote:
Haunter (Ghost/Poison): Haunter, while more solid than its preevolution and able to solidify, is composed primarily of gas, and prefers Gaseous or Ethereal over Solid. It may also go Invisible if required. Haunter's hands can move independently of it and can move with agility and decent speed. They are able to pass through solid objects even when Haunter is Solid or Gaseous, with somewhat more freedom to pass through objects than Haunter itself, allowing them to pass through thicker walls or other objects. Haunterfs Lick attack has a 50% chance to paralyze, instead of the usual 30%. Haunter is faster than Gastly and is able to levitate as high as its trainer is tall, but it is not as fast or agile as Gengar.
Little is known about Pret's past before he became the member of the legendary Mew's squad. He is the one who taught Jal the Marshtomp a lesson about not being too proud, and had developed a close friendship with Atta Maggi the Abra. However, it was only a matter of time before Atta Maggi went missing for unknown reasons, and Pret was left devastated. He had become used to the Abra's presence, and left the squad as well, in order to search for Atta Maggi. He looked far and wide, trying to find the Psychic Type in the oddest of places. His quest took him to both famous and obscure places, a lot of which proved to be overwhelmingly dangerous for him, and he was constantly threatened.

Eventually, he was forced to accept the fact that Atta Maggi was nowhere he could find him, and he was doubtful about whether Atta Maggi was even in this world anymore. He returned to the squad, and to the rest of the squad's disappointment, Atta Maggi was not with him. The sadness made Pret extremely irritable, even when they tried to console them. One things was clear -- the loss of Atta Maggi as a friend had changed him greatly as a Pokemon. Although interactions with Jadu the Ralts calmed him down, he was still prone to bursts of anger, even in battle.

Hidden Power: Fairy

Special Training: Grief

All of Pret's Special Attacks deal 110% the damage for 110% the energy due to him grieving, and this makes secondary effects more potent, but due to his grief, Pret can no longer go invisible. Also, he barely recovers energy from Rest, is constantly restless, and is easy to anger. Furthermore, he can no longer use Hex, Nightmare, Pain Split, Payback and Confide, because he does not want anyone else to feel what he is going through. Furthermore, his grief made him forget how to use Hypnosis, Confuse Ray, Counter and Perish Song. Due to being such good friends with Jadu, a Fairy Type, he is no longer resistant to the Fairy Type, but neutral to it.

Jhatka: Level 3 Male Eelektrik

Spoiler: show
Quote:
Eelektrik (Electric): Eelektrik constantly levitates using a magnetic field. This levitation allows for fairly quick and nimble travel and requires no energy to maintain. They are also fairly good swimmers and are able to stay underwater as long as any Water type.
Jhatka loves to stalk other Pokemon who near the water, and drag them down with all his might. Whenever near a source of water, he dives inside, and swims extremely silently, being difficult to see if the waters are murky. He seems to slither through the water, looking as lifeless as a seaweed before he actually lunges out to incapacitate his prey by shocking them, and proceeding to drag them down. However, since he usually does not find wild Pokemon near the water too many times due to being part of the squad, not having enough time to lurk in the water, he usually practices this skill by attempting it on the other squad members, quickly dragging them underwater by surprise.

Although he does not actually intend to harm them, the other squad members often panic and strike back, eventually managing to resurface and escape the waters. Realizing that he is not going to be too successful if he actually applies this technique to practical use, Jhatka decided to devise a way to make dragging prey more effective. Eventually, he managed to capture one of the squad members, coiling around it as he released ice from his mouth, which he had worked extremely hard to develop the ability to release by swimming in the coldest waters that he could find. The chilled Pokemon was left at his mercy, although Jhatka obviously did not intend to drown it.

Special Move: Bone-Chilling Constrict

Jhatka will coil around the target to the best of his ability, and breath out Ice Type energy from this mouth. This chills the target greatly, causing it to become substantially more sluggish. This move deals considerable damage, and takes high energy to use. Jhatka has the Ice Type energy to use this move twice per battle. Jhatka does not need to be in the water to execute this move, but even if both Pokemon are in the water, Jhatka is unable to actually drown the opponent in any way. While trying to develop this technique, Jhatka forgot how to use Coil, Bind and Thunder Wave.

"Mendakh, let us do this. Water Pledge into Scald, leaping around as you execute the moves. Replace the latter with a widespared Surf wave if you see multiple Gliscor, or cannot aim properly. Use your swiftness to always remain on the move evasively."

Why thank you.

Bulldoze out of Water Pledge, but if it can somehow jump around while initializing Water Pledge, instead Quick attack away from the Water Pledge in an arc, hitting it in the side.

U-turn to Cath.

Gonna try something new.

Episode 1: Growth Pokemon and you!

Welcome to the Pokemon battle Channel. I'm your host. Bleu and I'm gonna be true today, we're gonna witness a battle between two fast growing trainers. Focus on trainers, begin!

On our left we have Mew the Gato and on the right Machamp-X.

Mew has his Frogadier on the mark and Machamp has his Gliscor. Both Pokemon totally determined to go for the kill.

Gliscor waits back floating in the air watching its opponent closely. The frog, in it's usual action starts leaping as he fires 3 huge orbs of water not at the Pokemon but right below it. Not having fun time getting wet, Gliscor quickly closes it's wings as it glides as quick as possible around the orbs as the poor frog watches the orb burst in vain. Soon he hears a sound and soon, gets knocked on the side by the Gliscor. Mendhak who was jumping around, falls out of rhythm.

Mendhak holds an angry face. Looking at the Gliscor sharply, he brings up a slight amount of heat inside his body, heating up some of the water present in him. Gliscor, waits on watching as he glides though the air. Mendhak soon opens up his mouth as hot steaming water is launched towards the Gliscor. Gliscor looks tensed an pale as he tries to avoid contact but is hit hard on the left wing. Almost going out of flight, he somehow regains his composure although he suffered burns. Knowing its a mess being against a water type Pokemon, Gliscor concentrates hard creating a energy baton as he quickly flings himself at the frog, hitting it hard as he returned to his Pokeball getting replaced by a Magneton who floats around on the clay.

Mendhak is good on health front as he enjoys a good bit of lead. Energy used was roughly equal and is good for two. Out of fire by a bit.

Magneton is fresh out and ready to go.
What will happen next? Will Magneton overpower a poor water type Pokemon or will Mendhak hold it's own and produce a miracle? Find out in the next Episode of Pokemon battles with your host Bleu. Signing Off.

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen to another brand new episode of Pokemon Battles. Last time, we saw a superb round filled with tactics and drama. We left with Mendhak and Cath now in action. Let's move forward.

Episode #2: Combo moves aren't too good.

Mendhak glares at his opponent. Magaton quickly starts rotating his magnets generating massive, massive amount of electricity. Mendhak still does not move as he watches his opponent in action. Cath soon releases a large bolt of electricity towards Mendhak but Mendhak was prepared for it all this time as he quickly darts away from the bolt as he at the same time tries to generate bug type energy withing him but isn't able to do it as he slowly loses momentum and comes to a standstill.

Cath takes this a perfect oppertunity as she quickly charges up another super massive, huge bolt of electricity. This time, she smirks at her opponent, firing it with a great accuracy as Mendhak manages only a partial dodge. He is struck and struck badly as he seems in terrific agony. Seems that his left feet had been struck so hard that is has been paralyzed although this paralysis should not be too hard to shake off.

Mendhak took no damage whatsoever. Surya is out a took beatings upon entering but nothing too much.

Cath took no damage coming into this round. Energy use was taxing and could need a break soon.

This ends the second episode of Pokemon battle with a super massive fail strategy from Mew. Would this Mendhak now be able to stand tall? Or will Magneton Prevail easily? Find out in the next episode. Till then, this is your host Bleu, signing off.

It does not matter if he loses momentum. That would not magically interrupt U-Turn for no reason. He is intending to crash against the ground, anyway. He would continue charging that energy even after he comes to a standstill, and end up striking the ground, triggering U-Turn's switch. Frogadier is a fairly nimble Pokemon even without Quick Attack. He was also fresh.

U-turn (BG) -- The user concentrates, using a significant amount of energy to surround itself in an aura of bug energy. The user then charges into the target, releasing part of the energy into the opponent to deal moderate damage before using the rest to return to its pokeball, with the next Pokémon being sent out into the aura. When the new Pokémon is sent out, it gains the exact physical and psychological mindset of the U-turner. While things such as poison and physical injuries are NOT carried over, attacks like Curse (Normal version), Agility and mental conditions such as Confusion and Berserk will be passed. Aside from Baton Pass and Volt Switch, this is the only way a trainer can switch Pokémon in a Switch=KO battle.

Your Pokemon needs to concentrate in order to use it. It can't while its moving around at high speed. I confirmed it in the TO as well.

So why does he suddenly stop when Quick Attack ends? Considering he has been ordered to use both at the same time, he should be able to use both in quick succession.

Quick succession =! Same time. Hence.

He was told to try using U-turn while going for quick attack too. He tried and was not able to concentrate enough to pull off a U-turn. Hence.

Everything needs you to concentrate. One can U-Turn while jumping away. It is not like U-Turn needs you to stick to the same spot. You are also ignoring that Frogadier is nimble as it is; it should be used to travelling at high speeds.

It concentrates. It uses significant energy. I do not see why any "significant amount of concentration" is coming into play here.

Where did you get this response, and what exactly was it?

Skype TO.

Your Pokemon was not able to bring on the bug type energy because it was concentrating on pulling off a quick attack.

What "exactly" was the question and response?

Then why was the move suddenly interrupted? If Quick Attack slowed down, it would help it concentrate better, if anything. Even as Magneton attempts to charge Thunderbolt, Frogadier would be charging U-Turn. And in this case, Frogadier has to hit a target right in front of it, and is faster than an average Pokemon. Magneton would have to fire the Thunderbolt from a distance.

The question was exactly your order. Response. Neither should happen.

Also, why would your Pokemon use u-turn after quick attack when ordered simultaneousy? Actually I know. Nothing should've worked because your Pokemon would be confused as to what to do and what not!

Edits shorty to follow.

This is downright strange. People use Quick Burst Agility in a combo with another attack. Quick Attack is being used in the exact same way here. "It being confused" does not make sense.

Why did Surya took damage? The round should end when he is sent out. Can I ask you to edit the actual refereeing? It is far more important than the summary; the situation is never clear without it.

"Two widespread Heat Waves. If he tries to Volt Switch, quickly replace either with Quick Charge Substitute."

Surya took damage because the by the time the switch happened, Thunder Bolt had been charged already.

Okay, editing the whole thing again.
