Aasha: Level 1 Female Togepi

Spoiler: show
Quote:
Togepi (Fairy): All baby Pokémon's techniques that are based on cuteness (such as Charm, Attract, Sweet Kiss, etc) are slightly more effective. Togepi's shell provides a slightly higher defense where it covers. Togepi is able to levitate through minor expenditure of energy.
As a Togepi, Aasha was an extremely excellent runner despite her tiny limbs, having the stamina and speed to match even the fastest of Pokemon when it came to simply running. Even her Pokéathlon statistics gave her the maximum rating for both speed and durability in this field. She loved competing in the Pokéathlon competitions, where she slowly grew faster and faster over time. In the rare occasions when she actually participated in a battle, she focused on speed a lot, appearing to gain sudden boosts in speed when she performed certain motions. It was as if running fast was like an art to her. It came naturally, but still had room for improvement.

However, certain changes indicated that Aasha was about to evolve, and as widely known, a Togepi's evolution are much better at flight than movement on foot, and Aasha decided to prepare for the change as well as she can. She developed a love for jumping, growing extremely light footed. The signs of her evolution becoming surer and surer, she started to become able to maintain bursts of speeds in the air. As evolution drew closer, she only grew better.

Hidden Power: Ground

Special Move: Godspeed

Aasha cloaks herself in white, typeless energy, and flies towards her opponent at a pace rivaling Quick Attack. However, Aasha has great control over this movement, and can make even sharp turns while executing this move. She rams into the target, dealing considerable tyepless damage, then quickly retreats as far from the opponent as possible. After she uses this move, Aasha is left with a speed boost. Standard boost stipulations apply. If Aasha cannot fly for some reason, she shall simply leap as high into the air as possible and use the energy surrounding her to propel herself in the air and perform this move. This move requires severe energy to perform, and can only be used twice per match. While developing this move, Aasha forgot how to use Toxic, Double-Edge, Protect, Detect, Psyshock, Extrasensory, Morning Sun and Soft-Boiled. Upon evolution, she also loses Roost.

"Asha, released as far from your opponent as possible. Future Sight, Hyper Voice."
With a good amount of distance between the two, Asha begins to concentrate, attempting to see the future. Cath, however, has other plans, and he looses a high-pitched blast of supersonic, frazzling Asha's mind and stopping her cold. With one issue dealt with, Cath is more than content, as he proceeds to charge a huge amount of steel energy before lancing it through the air and into the fairy type for some serious damage. Lucky for Asha, this snaps her out of her confused state, allowing her to return fire with a hyper voice! Yeah!

Summaries

A bit of damage for Cath, a lot for Asha, both still in their first thirds. Energy usage was similar.

MtG to order

How did it know Steel is super effective? Pokemon are not supposed to know these things.

"Close in on your opponent, as you use Rock Smash, Rock Smash. Do not begin the attack until you get close. Take advantage of your levitation to be dodgy and reach him if necessary."

People make those orders all the time.
A Reflect screen should eat them up well. Flash Cannon, taking target.

I thought we established that Pokemon do not know their own weaknesses.

Then why would they know the opponent's weakness, or even Type?

People make those orders regularly, Mew, particularly in the first round of hidden squad matches. While I won't normally allow it, in a hidden round I allow leniency, as orders of that type can be expected by either side. I don't plan on changing the reffing.

New reffing will come in a bit.

This implies things should not be different in hidden orders.

But if you do not agree with that post, I shall not complain any more.

Based on Blaze's post, that was a straight "use this" scenario, rather than containing a conditional of any kind. Different scenario. Unless an LO tells me differently, I'm not changing the round. I don't believe Pokemon are nearly as stupid as the current standard seems to want them to be.

Asha begins to close the distance, finding no real need to levitate until her foe attacks her. Of course, instead of attacking, Cath is taking a page out of Kindindras book, throwing up a reflective screen. The little Togepi closes in on Cath, leaping forward and bringing her tiny baby arm down as she attempts to smash the rock screen. It does a nice blow, but the screen remains, with slight cracks starting to form. Cath makes some strange beeps, seemingly laughing as Asha repeats the process, once more attempting to smash the rock screen. This time, more significant cracks form, and the screen clearly won't be able to stand another blow. Cath chortles once more as his master plan comes into place, as he swings the crumbling screen out of his way before firing off a flash cannon from point blank range, which doesn't give Asha any time to react. That has to hurt.

Summaries

Another big blow for Asha, who's into her middle third of health. Energy use was okay, and she has enough for another rock smash.

Cath avoided damage, but used a big chunk of energy. He doesn't need a break just yet though. The screen is basically shot.

"He should not be able to recognize the Type of your attack, so, just unleash a Hidden Power when he is recuperating after unleashing Flash Cannon, doing it from as close as possible. Afterwards, if he uses Supersonic and you get confused, use Psycho Shift. Otherwise, Fire Blast at point blank range so that he cannot dodge."

Cath starts things off this round by lancing a flash cannon at Asha, dealing another big blow to the little Togepi, who's making her way to close range. As soon as the attack finishes, though, she creates some orbs filled with some hidden powers. Cath, however, is blissfully unaware that these orbs are loaded with ground energy, and only realizes how much pain they cause him when they hit him, dealing a disturbingly powerful blow. The Magnemite then just sits there, in copious pain, but on guard against more attacks. The Togepi takes a deep breath before blasting the Magnemite with a fire blast, and at such close range, while the Magnemite tries to use his aerial prowess to avoid the attack, he's not quite quick enough as he takes almost all of the blast. That hurts. At least there aren't any burns.

Summaries

Big blows for both sides, but Cath fared worse. Both sides are into their middle thirds now, with Asha quickly approaching her final third. Asha used up a lot of energy and, while a break isn't completely necessary, she's going to want one sooner rather than later. Cath, however, is good for two.

Side note: MtG, I demand that you change your Cubchoo's nickname. That is not okay.

Before much else happens, Asha decides it's time to nope out, and passes the baton to a Relicanth that I will call Dave because fuck that shit.

Relicanth (Water/Rock): Though far more at home in the water, Relicanth's lobed fins allow it to stand on land and even move, though slowly, as if they were legs.
Hidden Power: Flying

Machamp-X sees the switch and chuckles, quickly barking out orders for Cath. The Magnemite is quick to respond, blasting the rock fish with a thunderbolt for some nasty damage. Of course, the fish has some tricks of his own, as Dave 'stomps' the ground with is fins (okay, he kind of wobbles back and forth. Whatever.) and a column of earth energy erupts beneath Cath, dealing huge damage. Shaken, the Magnemite charges up his own high-powered attack, launching a zap cannon. And while the Relicanth tries to move out of the path, he's a fish moving very slowly on land, and he gets nailed, taking all the damage and looking quite paralyzed - not that he wasn't basically paralyzed before.

Summaries

Enormous exchange, as Dave was blasted well into his middle third and Cath was mauled way down into his final third, really not far from critical. Both seem good for two. Dave has enough ground energy for another full strength earth power.

Note: I don't remember doing that, and if I did, I was probably drunk because why the hell would I do that?

Drunk!Forums is fun. Just saying.

------------------------------

So Cath is trying to press his advantage, rising higher into the air to avoid another potential earth power. Meanwhile, Dave is trying to open his mouth. And he's having a hard time with that, considering the fact that he can barely move at all. Cath charges and fires a second zap cannon, striking the fish again, blowing free the existing paralysis and inflicting some anew, albeit to a slightly lesser extent. Dave manages to open his mouth, not all the way, but enough to shoot out a slightly forced Mud Shot, which blasts the Magnemite in the underbelly, dealing another ton of damage. But somehow, the Magnemite manages to just barely hold on. Weary and bruised, Cath begins to charge up another zap cannon, but this time Dave beats him to the punch, firing off a second mud shot with the last of his ground energy. The strike, once more, connects with Caths underside, and the Magnemite lets off the half-charged attack as he falls, the orb of energy slamming into Dave for some more damage. At least this one, not as intense, frees him of the paralysis completely.

Cath is unable to battle! Machamp-X, your second and Final Pokemon, please!

Summaries

Dave was mauled, well into his final third and quickly approaching critical. Energy is good for two, but no more ground.
