Jumpluff UPN PASBL: Zelphon vs. RealMrGame10

So, two noobs are duking it out, it seems.

I don't know much about you both but this battle could change that, somewhat.

A standard indoor café modeled to resemble the typical diner of the 50’s. Upon releasing the first Pokémon into the arena, all customers will flee the premises and head outside for safety. The waitresses will flee into the kitchen behind the counter.
Trainers fight on opposite sides of the lounge inside the building. The ceiling isn’t particularly high and has low hanging fans and lampshades that may be broken. Various tables and chairs litter the floor that may make movement difficult if ignored. They can easily be lifted, thrown around or used as weapons.
On one side of the arena lies a stretched out counter with a row of barstools set in front. These barstools are bolted into the floor and would require a good amount of strength to be pulled out of the ground (ref’s discretion). Behind the counter lie various metal machines such as milkshake dispensers and deep fryers filled with boiling grease. (Trainer’s are allowed to use their imagination for what is behind the counter and how it may be applied, but within reason!)
On the other side of the arena lies a slightly more open space with the door and jukebox in the centre of the wall. Glass windows stretch out from the door, up to both trainers’ sides of the field, and allows some natural light to enter the building. (Weather move will have a significantly diminished effect in this arena unless the battle spills out into the city.) The glass is strong and somewhat resilient but any attack that can deliver a decent amount of damage or more can break one of these windows. Propped up against these windows are multiple red booths meant to seat more than your usual group of three. They too are bolted into the floor but require even more strength if one wished to uproot them for an attack. Inside the open space lie a couple of 50’s style convertibles that have had their insides and wheels removed and replaced for leather seats and a table (obviously meant for the diner’s guests of honour). These cars are not bolted into the floor but would require a more-than-decent amount of strength to be lifted.
The jukebox in this area closely resembles those used in the late 50’s but with one modification: The Jukebox is connected to the internet and has a vast library of music songs, even current ones that it can play non-stop. Unfortunately the jukebox is broken and plays a random song every round. The ref is required to play a new song each round and ref the battle according to the beat and/or lyrics of the song. The jukebox may be destroyed by Pokémon attacks at ref’s discretion.

Lyn the Honedge (Level 1 Female)
"Honedge (Steel/Ghost): Honedge is a possessed sword, its body entirely made up of the blade and sheath, making it inorganic. All attacks involving slashing get a 10% boost in power. It moves primarily by floating, moving low over the ground with decent speed. It always grips its sheath with its cloth, somewhat weighted down by the heavy metal protector. Using a move, Honedge can sheath itself, making it immobile but providing a 15% reduction to all damage."

Casper the Gastly (Level 1 Male)
"Gastly (Ghost/Poison): Gastly is essentially living gas, and as such, can never atain solid form (aside from when invisible), and will always be ethereal or gaseous. As a trade-off for its near complete physical immunity, it remains the one of the slowest ghosts. All ghosts fight more enthusiastically at night, though light does not hinder their ability to battle. Gastly can see in the dark."

Maxwell the Growlithe (Level 2 Male) (Uplevel)
"Growlithe (Fire): Arcanines and Growlithes are extremely loyal and brave. They are more likely to follow orders of their trainers, even if they consider such orders questionable. They are also more resistant to fear-inducing effects. Finally, their hearing is more sensitive than normal, at the expense of being more vulnerable to sound attacks."

Murphy the Oshawott (Level 1 Male)
"Oshawott: (Water) Oshawott constantly wields a shell which it uses as a weapon, performing slashing attacks with it. The shell is fairly solid and can be used to defend against many physical attacks or to counter some attacks."

Chomp the Gible (Level 1 Male)
"Gible (Dragon/Ground): Gible can effectively "swim" through the ground, able to dig very quickly and nimbly. While it can do this underground to some extent, it moves the fastest when just below the surface, its fin sticking out of the ground. Gible's large teeth and firm jaw give it a slight boost in power to all biting attacks. Gible can see in the dark."

"Rhyhorn (Ground/Rock): Slung low to the ground, Rhyhorn are excellent at charging and tackling attacks. Any ramming attacks a Rhyhorn uses are more effective, as a Rhyhorn will be able to hit the Pokémon and keep running, adding a little trampling damage."

Start to ascend while letting off a Curse, if successful use Hex, if not use Shadow Ball.

Round 1: Vision!

Two challengers walk into a diner where a blonde teenage boy wearing glasses, who is sitting next to his Bayleef is waiting for them.

"Right, are we ready to rock! ... Too bad if we're not!"

With that the challengers just go straight for their Pokeballs, from Zelph we have a Banette and from Real we have a Rhyhorn, both are very capable fighters. (SC's can be read up on if necessary, will introduce them if asked to.)

Before the challengers can order, the teenager says a few words which have no meaning to the challengers, those words being "Bodyswerve, Vision"

Now we have no time to delay~

Now the Banette goes for a Curse, Protect comes this way~

Shadow Ball comes from the much stronger up-level now~
Hitting the Rhyhorn for a nasty blow now~

DC Earthquake makes a change going onto... The Banette, moving it like an angel - That's been trampled.

"Sorry for the cheesy reffing" The boy says.

Summary:

Banette is leading the health and energy race.

Rhyhorn took a nice blow, energy is fine.


(In all honesty, I'll find an easier song to ref to next round + edits may be made due to the Curse issue,)

Round 2: BLOODY DEFENSIVE MOVE SPAM!

Being the fresher of the two, Banette decides to Confuse his opponent by sending a fancy Ray of light towards Rhynaut. *Commence song: Paradise City - Guns N' Roses* The ray causes Rhynaut to forget to 'please' send him home. QC Subbing in the Paradise City where the grass is green and the girls are pretty, he might take this match home~
Rhynaut tries to Pursuit in the paradise city, he hits the mark and it sure is pretty, the real Banette stands alone~

Summary:

Rhynaut is unscathed yet confused, still behind on both accounts.

Banette took a little bit more damage due to the Sub, still relatively fresh.

Summary:

Rhyhorn is still fresh but also confused, RNG is being extremely generous, energy is good.

Banette took a tad more damage, knocking it closer to the second third, energy is good.

Round 4: Care to remind me why I bother? :P

(This round shall be reffed without the ref-to-the-beat rule. It'll be up to you two if I go to normal rounds or continue to song-reffing.)

Rhynaut starts us off by breaking through confusion and RAMMING INTO A MOTHER-TRUCKIN... chair... Anyway, the chair goes flying through the air and Pain Gain sees it coming therefore allows it to phase through him. Pain Gain then charges some rather Ghostly Shadows in his hands. The energy forms a Ball which goes flying into Rhynaut for good damage.

Rhynaut, having his confusion knocked out, tries to go for a Stomp on Pain Gain, the attack having no affect as he, once again, goes Gaseous. Pain Gain finishes the round with a nasty Shadow Ball. This shall be a long fight...

Summary:

Rhynaut took a truckload of damage this round, taking 2 Shadow Balls to the face. Getting tired.

Pain Gain avoided damage due to the nifty Ghost rules. Also tiring.

As for the reffing, you don't feel like doing them with beat rules it's ok, although I was having fun reading your refs.

Round 5: 3 Days Isn't That Long Of A Wait

The round starts off as Pain Gain simply turns invisible. Rhynaut uses this time to act like his horn is a Sword(s) and Dance, increasing his attack power. Rhynaut then tries to hit Pain Gain with a Pursuit, this attack being quite sneaky as it allows him to hit th invisible foe for some nice SE damage

Summary:

Banette is in the second third of health, Rhynaut wants a break.

"This shall be a long battle"...
