The fell beast Thrak stretches his wings out as he soars through the air high above, the slight amount of damage taken last round near negligible. The dragon looks to extend his odds of survival, a smart call by Kush as he'll need to defeat not one, but two foes in order for the veterans to take the lead. But as the beast begins to fly in a circular motion overhead, quickly picking up speed, the challenger on the ground makes motions and utters words so foul that the audience of children can only look on in pure horror, some even going so far as to cover their ears or eyes so that these ghastly insults may not plague them in the years to come. Our team of newbies begins to cheer, though, as Thrak slows himself down a bit, his body almost coming to a halt in the sky as all three heads turn angrily towards Zeus. There will be retribution.

The maws of both of the dragon's arms open wide, while Thrak's main head simply growls angrily, a crackling mist slowly leaking from the mouths of the appendages. The third head opens its jaw, and the mist erupts from all three mouths in frankly surprising amounts. The height at which the dragon was flying aids in the attack's ability to spread out over the field below, and Zeus has nowhere to run as the blue-green breath bears down over him, though it doesn't seem to hit at quite full strength thanks to spreading out so much. Feeling confident in his attack as the mist begins to fade, Thrak continues to fly about overhead, looking a terrible sight. The Electivire proceeds to brush himself off as he eyes his airborne foe, watching his movements to as brings his wires together over his head. Swirling energy of many colors begins to wrap itself around where the tendrils touch, and as soon as Zeus thinks he has a shot at a clean hit the energy erupts into a powerful beam, the rainbow attack rocketing forward at Thrak. The beast does all he can to avoid the beam, but as he begins to roll out of the way of the attack, the lights clip his right wing pretty heavily. As the roll ends its pretty obvious that the clip still managed to hit pretty hard, and Thrak is none too happy about it, staring down his foe from high above as things come to a close this round.

Both Pokemon are still pretty well off, though Electivire has gained an early lead. Their energy reserves are both still quite high and its quite clear that they are both ready and raring to fight.

Our representative from the Newbie team, kingothestone, to order first this round.

So it turns out that this match has moved so slowly that I had completly forgotten that we had had a hidden round. No jokes.

After you, Kots!

Just a quick inquiry since it's been so long and so much has changed. Are we going to stick with the descriptions and such that were in place when the exhibition started, or shall we go with the newer descriptions of things like EQ, Magnitude, Secret Power, the Tail attacks and the like?

I would prefer that we kept it as it was when the match started. I don't know about you guys but we picked our pokémon with the status quo in mind.

Also, no Gen VI.

Yeah, it's pretty much the same on this end. Very well.

Alright Zeus, he if wants to stay out of range, fine. Start off by creating a light screen. If he comes down for a physical blow, make him pay with a dual chop, but should he remain distanced, a secret power ought to do.

Ok. Allow yourself to fall naturally as you release the Wrath of Angmar. Stay a good distance away horizontally and level at mif height. When Secret Power comes, rush down and to the left at high speed, dodging the Secret Power by using Earthquake.

Yeah, I always ref based on descripts as they stood when the match started, as even the smallest change could affect the way someone picked out their squad or a matchup.

Despite his foe having a bit of initiative, his forced low energy use last round allows Thrak to prepare himself a bit more quickly than his Electivire challenger. The menacing beast of a Dragon growls momentarily before uttering words in the accursed Black Speech. Gaakh Nazgűl nűlubat is the brief but powerful phrase that booms through the arena as the Hydreigon snarls menacingly, lowering his altitude a bit in the process. The thundering sound of the Black Speech fades and in what is quite possibly the closest allowable thing to a summoning sig, nine shadow cloaked figures appear from all corners of the arena, which we'll say are made of pure energy for the sake of consistency, prompting screams from the young children. The wraiths slowly approach Zeus, who remains struck by horror from Thrak's call a mere moment ago. Upon reaching him the wraiths grab the Electivire and upon touching the god of thunder an aura of weakness surrounds him, and the wraiths disappear into the shadows as quickly as they came, Zeus' defensive capabilities effectively lowered. The wraiths shall return to curse each Pokemon the newbies send out from here on in. Finishing shuddering in fear, it takes Zeus a moment to gather his composure, but with Thrak waiting for him to make a move as he slowly moves backwards horizontally, he has a bit of time. Soon enough he holds his hands out in front of him, pointing slightly towards the ground before raising them quickly towards the air. As he does so, a shimmering pane of pure Psychic energy forms before him, ready to absorb any energy based attacks the Hydreigon may throw his way.

With Thrak still not attacking, and the Dragon still keeping quite a bit of distance between himself and his Electivire foe, Zeus decides to cut the waiting game, and prepares his next attack. A moment later a faint pink glow begins to radiate around the beast, and with a point of his hand the aura condenses and surges forward, accompanied by a large amount of powders. With the space he's created between the two combatants, Thrak has more than enough reaction time this time around, and begins his steep descent to avoid the attack, listing not-so-lazily to the left as he does so. The powdery pink aura sails past the Hydreigon harmlessly, and the beast's two outer heads briefly begin to glow a light brown before Thrak makes his rather hard landing onto the arena floor, slamming both heads as he does so. Nothing if not theatric, Kush's move sends the entire arena shaking, a surge of energy flowing through the earth, causing several onlookers to look for cover just as they are taught in school. The team of veterans stands their ground firmly as a testament to their battling prowess, and soon enough the energy finds its way to its target in Zeus, rattling the Electivire as it surges directly through his every muscle. The ground ceases its shaking as Thrak lifts his heads from the earth, beating his six wings momentarily to raise himself only mere inches from the arena below as Zeus manages to shake off the large hit to his health, ending the round with the two a good bit outside of standard battling distance from eachother.

Things have really turned around this round, as Zeus' lead has been completely stripped from him and Thrak gains a similar lead of his own in terms of health. Energy wise they both used a bit more than the norm, and while breaks are not immediately necessary for either of them, they would be appreciated fairly soon.

Kush, your orders if you'd be so kind.

Circle up and around, using Roar to intimidate him out of his first attack. Stay high and evasive. If Taunted, Crunch.

Screech through that roar, then nail him with an ice beam before he can get too far away. Quickly, now.

A rumbling bellow emanates from the depths of Thrak's throat as this round begins, the dragon giving a powerful flap of his wings to ascend quickly to the sky once more. Kush is doing everything he can to pile on some stall for now, and the booming voice of a Hydreigon is nothing to take lightly. As the sound rips through the air, scaring our onlookers, the Electivire on the other side of the arena raises his wires over his head, a short bit of electricity running through them to create a high pitched squeal of noise. The whine of static and the overwhelming boom of sound both fill the area, attempting to drown eachother out. The sounds do manage to lessen the effects of one another, but it's quite clear that they are both still quite potent. Unsurprisingly, the speed at which they occur results in their interrupting nature cutting eachother short, as Thrak instantly folds his outer appendages over his main head in an attempt to block out the noise, while Zeus momentarily cowers in fear. They both find themselves none too phased, Thrak uncovering his head as soon as the shrill sound ends, whereas it takes Zeus only a brief moment to realize that this technique is the same strategy that his Hydreigon foe employed during the first round of the match.

A good ways into the air already at this point, it takes Thrak only a mere moment to reach a great height once again. Circling overhead, the Hydreigon has an excellent view of his foe, and when Zeus claps his hands together, forming a small glowing orb of light blue energy between them, the dragon prepares to take evasive actions. The Electivire turns to face his foe, and from the orb lances out an erratic bolt of cryogenic energy, the Electivire moving his shimmering screen out of the way slightly as he fires his freezing bolt. The sheer distance between the two allows Thrak to swerve away from the main brunt of the blow, but Zeus readjusts his aim, bringing his beam in towards his foe, and smacking Thrak with the tail end of the attack, causing him to lose a small bit of altitude as he veers out of his flight path somewhat. A small amount of frost forms around the dragon's right wing, but it will for the most part not be of any hindrance to the Hydreigon. Zeus moves his screen back into place now that his attack has ended, while Thrak straightens himself out and rises back to his maximum altitude, signaling the end of the round as he continues to circle overhead.

A nice shot to Thrak's health has caused Zeus to gain the lead once more, if only by a mite. Energy wise the dragon is doing much better than his Electivire foe, and while Thrak appreciated the break Zeus is feeling a little winded and should probably take a moment's rest.

kingothestone, your orders please.

Alright, Zeus, if he gets anywhere near the ground, get in his face with a dual chop. If he's going to continue playing hard to get and wants to stay up in the air, however, settle in and meditate for a bit.

Wait a moment, see how they respond to a few seconds of nothing in their terror stricken state.

While we wait, let's just remember how bad arse Hydreigon is.

Fucking sweet.

Bank left and spiral down in to another Earthquake, landing with range to spare to confuse them. Send shock waves through their souls and a Stone Edge after that as you reascend, we'll smash their screen and see if we can't knock them away from any attack that comes. Sig abuse a gogo!

Fact: I sat down to ref this and ended up staring at the Hydreigon picture for a few minutes wishing I could draw that well.

The arena lies still for a while as the new round begins, Zeus eyeing his foe incredibly warily in his somewhat frightened state, while the Hydreigon above seemingly ignores the Electivire below, flying about a bit as he patiently waits. Moments pass, and then some more, and finally Zeus decides that his foe has no intention of coming down any time soon. The large electrical monster thus proceeds to firmly sit on the ground, folding his legs together and bringing his hands to form a peaceful sign as his arms rest upon his legs. He closes his eyes, and his mind quickly becomes peaceful, his fear of the beast above melts away and soon he is at rest with the world around him. His peace doesn't exactly last long, however, as Thrak notices his foe as he begins to sit, and the moment he closes his eyes, the dragon adjusts his flight pattern quickly, swooping down and off to the side, spiraling on his way to the earth. Upon contact the ground begins to quake once more, though the waves of energy this time around are slightly weaker than the attack's previous iteration. None the less, the shaking rocks Zeus quite handily, and any peace he found himself in is quickly ripped away as he finds himself shaken out of his sitting position and landing flat on his back.

The Electivire rises, his mind now cleared of his fear of his foe, though not quite as peaceful as he was originally hoping for. The distance between himself and his foe is still fairly wide, and it takes him a brief moment to realize exactly which direction the shaking had come from. A short look around is all it takes for him to lock eyes with Thrak, though, and just as he does the dragon's wings begin beating once more, pushing the Hydreigon back away from the ground below, and with it any idea Zeus might have had of rushing to attack his foe. The assault is far from over, though, and a mere moment after he leaves the ground a few rings of dark brown energy begins to form around the Hydreigon, quickly condensing as he rises. Soon enough Thrak finds himself surrounded by many small - but very much solid - stones, all of which are fairly sharp. A decent distance into the air now, the dragon turns to face his foe, and the rocks are sent flying down from the sky. Zeus has more than enough time to prepare for this attack, having by now picked himself up off of the ground. He makes an attempt to sidestep the stones, but they are rather fast in motion, and a nice number of them strike the shimmering translucent pane in front of the Electivire. The screen shatters upon impact as if it were any ordinary piece of glass, and promptly fizzes out of existence as the energy that created it fades away, the stones that struck it continuing onwards to stab into the electric beast's furry hide for a nice enough blow. The remaining rocks sail slightly past Zeus, crashing down on the ground behind him uselessly. Thrak grunts angrily at his partial hit, and the round ends there, with the two seperated by a nice amount of both horizontal and vertical distance, Thrak a good ways up but not quite at his flight ceiling.

The lack of damage to Thrak coupled with the gigantic pounding that Zeus took has caused the small lead the Electivire had to sail away as his health plummeted far below his foe, and he is really not looking well at this point. Energy wise, Zeus appreciated the break, and while Thrak used a bit more than the norm, he's still fine for now, and both of them have taken a dive into their lower ranges.

Kush, your orders please.

Thrak turns his attention away from the skies and back towards his Electivire foe as this round begins, opening his mighty maw as black energy swirls within. Just as he prepares to loose the mas of energy, however, Zeus once again raises his wires over his head, creating sparks between them that give off the shrill hiss of an electrical discharge. While Thrak has already heard the noise once before this match, he is far from accustomed to it, and as the irritating cacophonous noise rings through his ears he finds himself quite unable to concentrate on what he was doing. The black energy he was preparing to fire at his foe is loosed preemptively towards the ground, and fizzles out against it as the weakened strike finds itself making touchdown nowhere near the Electric monster.

Angered by this development, Thrak's multiple heads once again turn to face Zeus, and there is little time for the beast below to react as the dragon bellows out a sharp sound of his own. This particular sound carries a mass of energy, not meant by any purpose to disrupt his foe, but instead to cause the Electivire a large amount of pain as it rings sharply through his ears. The sound washes over Zeus like a tidal wave, immediately followed by the energy it serves to carry, and the yellow monster falls to his knees as his hands move to cover his ears. A mere moment later he wavers, struggling in an attempt to stand back up, only for one hand to fall to the ground, then the other, and eventually the entire body of the beast falls, quite clearly unconscious. The vets have drawn first blood.

Zeus is unable to battle!

Thrak had a somewhat light round, with no damage taken and somewhat low amount of energy used thanks to loosing his first move early, and he's feeling pretty good about himself right now.

If we could get the next representative from the Newbies to send out their Pokemon and give us some orders, that would be stellar.

So, let's just all agree that this will be the highlight of the match and everything else will be absolutely terrible from here on out.

Dragon of Ice, destroyer of worlds, Trishula, rise up and show your icy dominance over your foe.

Quote:
Trishula: Level 6 Male Hydreigon
Typechange: Dragon, Born of the Ice (ICE)
Trishula is now a Dragon/Ice type, with all the weaknesses (Dragon, Fighting, Steel, Rock) and resistances (Water, Grass, Electric) that the typing has. In addition to this, Trishula learns the moves Ice Beam and Blizzard, being one of ice and all. Trishula never learned the moves Superpower, Crunch, Draco Meteor, or Outrage, preferring its own Ice type moves to deal serious damage. As an Ice dragon, Trishula has no Fire energy what so ever.
Start off flying Trishula, and move under him while firing off an Ice Beam and a Dragon Pulse, remaining evasive as you do so.

Alright then. Well fought Kots, Concept and I assumed you'd draw me pretty close there. In the end you ordered poorly the round before this which allowed me to gain the advantage. You then got a bit unlucky in the last round.

So a Hydreigon fight would be cool and all but.

Thrak, use Dragon Rush in an arc to dodge the beam, let's see how they like that with weakened defences. Stay close and U Turn as soon as you can, switch out to...

... let's build suspense and just say Shadowshocker, shall we? I'll PM Sneezey to confirm the actual pokémon but you newbies can sweat over this for a day or two I think.
