Substitute has that whole mental block thing going on, so the aura would probably transfer through the copy and fool Lucario that way.

It can move away from the Sub, but the Sub will be the one doing the attacking because of the mental link. If it's preparing to attack and the sub fades then the original will likely continue with the attack.

What is the flight ceiling of:

a.) Pokemon with Levitate?
b.) Levitating Pokemon without Levitate?
c.) Pokemon who can learn Fly but are not Flying type?
d.) Flying types without Fly?
e.) Flying types with Fly?

Obviously exceptions like Doduo/Dodrio exist, but I'd like some official listing of flight ceilings. Metric or Imperial, it makes no difference to me. Obviously ref's discretion applies for exceptions.

Um.

A) No abilities in ASB, so it really doesn't have any bearing on these Pokémon. Flygon, for instance, gets no great advantage over any other fliers.
B) Totally depends on the Pokémon. Most Ghosts float about 3 feet off the ground, and natural Psychic levitaters can reach 10 feet or so. Pokémon like Staryu have been shown to be able to make it to 20+ feet.
C + D + E) Being able to learn Fly is irrelevant. And again, it totally depends on the Pokémon. Smaller birds will comfortably cap at 10 or so, but can make it higher with some effort. Birds-of-prey (Braviary, Staraptor, Talonflame) and larger, speed based birds (Pidgeot, Swellow) will be able to make it a significant height, but they'll rely on wind currents over 15 feet if they want to gain height. Middling birds (Unfezant, 2nd stage birds) will probably make it to 15 safely but won't get much higher. Bug/Flyings or winged bugs will probably only manage about 10 feet, and only Flying dual types will be moving with any deft (though Pokémon like Beedrill can manage a pretty solid velocity).

Oh hey it actually learns Dragon Pulse now. That's exciting.

Still, no. It doesn't need the help.

Do psychic-type foe-targeting status moves affect dark-types in ASB, or are they immune?

Not really a question that can be answered generally, but I believe we've come to the conclusion that they're highly resistant, if not immune to many.

Alright, so the discussion came up in the ASB Skype chat not too long ago, but I want some confirmation on it.

The opponent is behind a Substitute, and I use Bulldoze. Now, I've heard two different thought processes on what would happen in this case.

The first of these is that the Sub has no affect on the move. Both the opponent and the Sub will take the full brunt of the damage.

The other is that most of the Bulldoze is absorbed by the Substitute, but some of it hits the opponent.

Which is these is the more reasonable one, or is there another interpretation I've missed?

The former, I'd day. One weakness of sub is vulnerability to widespread attacks.

In my 8 years of ASBing, I've reffed Sub maybe 4 times so my experience with it is sort of limited, but I've always treated Sub as being sorta vulnerable to Earthquake and friends, as the damage is dealt to both the Sub and the Subber.

However, I think it would be reasonable to say that the Sub does absorb some of the energy.

I also agree and would have sub get hit as well as target.

Just asking this before I use it. Tropius' fruit. Does it cost energy to use or is it a freebie?

Pretty sure it's a freebie but it will count as your one healing move per match. Also you get major cool points for using Tropius, it's actually really good.

Can you use a Rock Slide so that the slab of rock is lifted under a Pokemon?
Also, Can you set off said Rock Slide so that it's used to launch said Pokemon into the air?
(In this case it's Relicanth using it on Sewaddle on the asteroid arena)

It's not really "magically raising a slab of rock" as it is "smack the rocks around you hard enough that they shatter and fly off". Like I guess the exact interpretation would be down to your ref, but I'd guess that yes you could in the asteroid arena rock slide the rock directly underneath Sewaddle and send it flying... but Sewaddle would then be directly hit by a rock slide, which it is weak to, so it would be unlikely to end well for it.

So what you're saying is that yes, my Sewaddle can be flung upwards by the Rock Slide?
...
Well ok then. Thanks Concept.

Can you change the rules so that it's possible to have one battle on UPN and three battles on Sppf? The temptation of one battle more is more than enough to lure newbies to UPN and while many people would be like "dude why" I'd like the option. (Obviously you still have to have at least two on SPPF if you want your full four.)
