Is Toxic (as in the attack) likely to dissolve a pokemon's eyes if it gets in it? Would crude oil inflict permanent damage?

I'd think not but I figured I'd ask others. ;^_^

Toxic =/= Acid. It will cause a lot of irritation but it would have to stay in for a couple of rounds before it starts causing real issues. Same with oil.

Conservative ref's opinion, nothing more.

Pokemon are also a lot hardier than most creatures, so really just no. It would really have about the same issues as mud.

Yes, but it was a sig move that specifically stated "This will cause great harm and pain if it gets into sensitive areas". :I

No, no eye-melting, even in realistic.

Temporary blindness, perhaps, but no eye-melting.

About what degree of blindness, and for how long?

Aura Sphere always takes the shortest distance to hit a target, right? So if an opponent moves behind an wall or big rock by using Teleport let's say, the Aura Sphere isn't going to magically move around it right?

Yeah, shortest distance I'd say.

Also I think only living things have Pokemon!Aura so it shouldn't even see the rock anyways.

So I take it that's a yes?

The reason I asked is because in the future I would want to screw over Lucario by teleporting behind it.

Quote:
Aura Sphere (FT) -- The user charges a large amount of fighting spirit within, before shooting it forward in a ball towards the target, dealing significant damage. Due to the concentrated spirit within, the ball is drawn to the fighting spirit of an opponent, allowing it to hit the true opponent in a Double Team or in low visibility. Though it is drawn to the foe, it is not an auto-hit, as it cannot turn very sharply and travels somewhat slowly, though it is more likely to hit.
If they're barely behind the obstruction, it may still get a glancing blow. If they're behind a rock of any notable size though, I'd say the Aura Sphere would turn slightly but still miss them. That said, it isn't "smart" and won't "wrap around" obstructions. If it's fired head on at the opponent hiding behind something, it'll go straight forward into the obstruction.

@Teleporting behind Lucario: Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it was ruled that Aura Sphere can't do a complete 180, and it's homing capacities are only slight adjustments in direction (so it's hard to, say, agilidodge it, but it's not utterly impossible).

Rarely is Teleport the right answer to any given situation but but that's quite a good idea.

Could Aura Sphere do a 180 turn if the arena was excessively large, though? What's the sphere's life-time when used by an average Pokemon on full health/energy?

It's noted in the pokemon's SC, or else in their Sig.

There are also some types that are considered familiar than others, for example, Water types are typically considered familiar with Ice, and many Rock types are considered familiar with Ground.

This doesn't include every Pokemon of those types, but it works as a decent rule of thumb.

Actually, aren't Waters not familiar with Ice anymore? I thought it was just a Blizzard+Ice Beam now.

Familiarity amounts, like type energy amounts, vary between refs.

Tri Attack (NO) -- The user fires off a spiraling beam of energy, powered with small amounts of fire, ice, and electric energy, dealing solid damage. This gives the beam a 20% total chance of causing either minor burning, partial paralysis, or freezing around the area hit by the beam.
From what I understand, it's a normal-type attack which is just granted it's chance of secondary effect by the energy used. Think of it like Scald, except... Much... Worse...
