I've said it before and I'll say it again, Substitute not taking into account type modifiers would make it immensely broken under the way it's currently written. Let's not do this.

No, the games aren't even out yet, and we don't know which Pokémon exist, or what Moves the already released Pokémon have.

No Gen VII things.

Swagger is situational. Is Pain Split the kind of move your Pokemon would use when angry over, say, Shadow Ball?

If we're talking about a Haunter, sure. A Kirlia? Not so much.

So it might stop Pain Split. But it might not.

Not directly, but maybe if the Pokemon is soaked as a result of Rain Dance. Up to the ref though.

I'd probably have the chance increased slightly after 1 or 2 rounds of rain fall.

Elaborate what you mean by 'the like'. Honestly though Ominous Wind does not have a terribly strong wind portion, it is mostly just energy, it should just move through and strike.

Icy wind silver wind

edit:

Does the compressed earth version of Stone edge:

Stone Edge (RK) -- Using significant energy, the user generates roughly 10 sharp stones forming them from Rock energy, creating two rings that float around the user, before flinging them at the foe, dealing significant damage. Rock types may alternatively form the stones by compressing the earth in the arena, lowering the energy use to considerable and speeding up the move.

come up from the ground like this:

or is it still generated in the rings like the standard version?

Can a Pokémon voluntarily let down the bide aura before the two rounds have expired and before the aura has taken major damage? Obviously, the beam wouldn't ifre, but is this possible at all?

That would be Nay! It can't let it go until it's been hurt enough to release the energy, otherwise it must wait for those turns before doing anything else.

Bide (NO) - Taking a defensive stance, the user endures all attacks against it and remains in one location, making no attempt to dodge. It takes full damage from all attacks against it during this time and cannot perform other actions. As it endures, a red aura surrounds it completely. This aura absorbs the power of attacks levied against it, growing in size as it does so, and breaks after absorbing the power of a major amount of of damage or greater. When it breaks, the energy absorbed is condensed in to a large beam and fired as an attack, the user able to aim it at will. The beam deals damage equal to twice the power of the energy it has absorbed and is made up of the type energy of the endured attacks (meaning that a Bide beam can deal multi type damage). Bide absorbs attack power before the user actually takes damage, meaning that it absorbs only the base power of the attacks (including the attacker's boosts) and does not take account of type effectiveness against the Bide user or any defensive boosts that the Bide user may have. Energy usage for a Bide is initially neutral, costing the user energy equal to the power of the beam fired. For each successive use, the energy cost increases by 25% in the same way as Protect. Creating the initial Bide aura uses only minor energy. A Bide aura can be maintained for up to two rounds if it is not broken by attacks and will dissipate harmlessly if it absorbs less than a major amount of damage for no energy cost. The Bide aura also shields the user from the secondary effects of attacks and prevents it from being afflicted with any statuses while it is held.
Actually, from the way Bide is phrased, it seems you can have it break prematurely but you just use whatever energy you used to start it (which is actually none). I don't think there's been any precedent for either case though.

A bit preoccupied to go fishing for examples.

I don't think it was intended that a Bide aura could be dispersed prematurely by the user's choice, although I could be incorrect on this. Definitely stands to be clarified.

Im of the opinion it doesnt break until the two turns are up or it absorbs enough energy. If it could do that you could effectively use it to avoid status, well kind of, it wouldnt be that efficient but you could avoid status moves while using no energy what so ever.

I wonder if a pokemon behind a Substitute uses a close attack, does that mean they revealed themselves at that point? Or will the opponent still be focused on the copy?

Does the amount of energy used in preparing substitute determine how quick its used? I was just wondering because the move description doesn't mention charge time.
