Huh, so it turns out Zubat is quite well equipped to fight a Vulpix. Well balls.

"Howl over his Supersonic, he should hear you loud and clear with that sensitive hearing of his. Then if you go retarded just wait out his Sludge Bombs and launch an Extrasensory towards him whilst he's tired. If not, Quick Attack dodge the sludge bombs and position yourself directly underneath him."

This is weird, or at least while the sounds are loud and painful, they don't really counteract each other particuarly well, the Howl making Vulpix feel more confident, and a slight attack boost, but trying to drown out the Supersonic reduced its effectiveness a bit. On the other end, Zubat isn't really that intimidated, but the confusion is still noticeable, but not as strong. Neither pokemon is in good shape, though Vulpix is confused enough to not know what is being too confused, or what it should do, but then explosions, and pain and Sludge Bombs from those F-52's and AHHHH.

But Vulpix's mind is well clear, and it blasts more psychic power at Zubat, actually hitting this time, and deals lots and lots of damage, the Extrasensory making the Zubat not appreciate itself.

Results:

Vulpix took lots of damage, out of its first quarter, energy use wasn't bad- has a slight Howl boost, Psychic energy is nearly gone at this point. No Confusion

Zubat took tons of damage, still in first half of health, energy use not terribly high though.

I don't understand how Zubat isn't intimidated when he can hear it a lot louder than the average pokemon, and is smaller and lighter than vulpix, but w/e

"Dark Pulse to Secret Power. Replace the second with a Fire Blast if he comes close."

Fly away from the Dark Pulse. After the Secret Power, come closer and give him a Hypnosis.

Wait a second, Damage complaint, how comes Zubat is still in the first quarter after taking a small SE Rock Slide, an exploded fire spin, and a SE Extrasensory? That seems rather ludicrous...

*Roar didn't work as well bcos of noise, also Vulpix hasn't beaten Zubat enough...*

Anyway, Vulpix launches a Dark Pulse, which the energy flies harmlessly under the Zubat, who had flown over it. Zubat then decides to take the next hit, the Secret Power landing in all of its energy goodness, Unfortunately for Zubat, he starts to get a bit drowsy, and he's quite slow in flying down and trying to Hypnosis its foe, meaning Vulpix isn't put entirely to sleep as the round ends.

Results:

Zubat took solid damage, energy use was meh, he's tired, will fall asleep if not bothered.

Vulpix no damage, but sleepy, same as Zubat. Energy use was higher, still has Dark energy.

Zubat hasn't used its sleep move quite yet, but it was close

The pokemon are relatively close, as one needs to be in order to hypnotize someone else. As a result, the Toxic splatters across Vulpix's face even as an Ominous Wind sends some of the gunk, and Zubat sliding across the arena, neither pokemon looking particularly well. Zubat starts flapping its wings, and a surprising amount of wind appears, in fact a small Twister whips things around, and crashes into Vulpix for a lot of damage. The fox is not deterred, and sends fire at its foe, the Will-O-Wisp colliding for some damage and a few burns.

Results:

Zubat took a lot of damage, is below half health, energy use was high, but it is still kicking.

Vulpix took significant damage, but has a pretty large lead healthwise, energy use was less, enough toxic was blown away, and it'll take a bit to take hold. Ghost energy took a hit, but it exists.

The Vulpix and Zubat continue, though even as the Hex sends Zubat spinning for a bit, the bat recovers and Roosts for a lot of health but loses a lot of energy.

Results:

Vulpix no damage, but lost ghost energy

Zubat got a net gain in health, but energy use was massive, still grounded

Zubat, still exhausted from his healing is a bit slow on the uptake, and as a result, Vulpix puts a good bit into another Extrasensory, which crashes into the poison type for mass damage, though not too much because of the lack of Psychic energy. Zubat, a bit frazzled but still ok, retaliates with some Supersonic Waves as it returns to the skies, causing Vulpix to be spazzing out, or at least it's very confused.

Results:

Vulpix took no damage, energy use wasn't bad but it's out of Psychic energy, is very confused

Zubat took lots of damage, is below half by a little bit, energy use wasn't bad.

It was nearly out of Psychic energy four rounds ago, and I would imagine you would have to be very generous with your Psychic energy in order to give a Pokemon another Extrasensory and still call it "nearly out." Unless of course you meant something different...but still. >_>

I've used a one single Extrasensory... And considering Vulpix has like 10 psychic moves I'd say this statement is more than just moot.

Orders to come later, maybe tomorrow

No, you've used two in total in the rounds before, and what I'm saying is you can't blame a battler for getting pissed when a ref says a Pokemon is nearly out of Psychic energy and then manages to fire another Extrasensory. If that's not what he meant, I'm fine with that, but I'm going with the reffings here. If I were to say a Pokemon were almost out of Electric energy and then reffing it using a full-powered Thunderbolt I would get some eyebrows too.

and if you've looked at my damage scales, I do give more type energy than is the norm, but to clarify, Vulpix is 100% out of psychic energy at this point. The reason the damage seems so high is because of the Hex that I forgot was boosted last turn so I added that damage this round. That Extrasensory was pretty weak, given the lack of psychic energy.

and george, you used 2 Extrasensories before that one
