UPN PASBL: Kishu Arashi vs. Jerichi

Jerichi rides up and up on the roller coaster, seeing a golden glow at the top. As the coaster nears the top, he sees a figure climbing up the side of the coaster's track. He jumps off of the coaster and runs up the track as the figure speeds up. They both lunge for the glowing item, grabbing a claw shaped Wu at the same time. They both glare at eachother as the tension rises, the Golden Luxray Claws glowing at a steady pace now. "Kishu Arashi," Jerichi begins, "I challenge you to a Pokemon battle for the Golden Luxray Claws."

Amusement Park (Outdoor Custom Arena): An amusement park with several rides and concession stands about. The concession stands provide good hiding places, and rides such as roller coasters can provide a quick escape. Onlookers are scattered everywhere. Some of the rides could be a roller coaster, Ferris wheel, funhouses, river rides, etc. Be creative! Falling from one of the rides could very well prove deadly, and is very rarely escaped with less than some broken bones.
Special Rules: Onlookers, Easily Destroyed (concession stands & some rides), Deadly (falling from very high and/or fast-moving rides), Terrain Edge (lawn-exit of park), artificial lighting (from rides, etc. only if night fight is used)
Optional Special Rules: Ridiculously Easily Destroyed, Break of Dawn (1/2 as many onlookers), Twilight, Night Fight (twice as many onlookers), Weather (any).

"I accept your challenge!" Kishu responds, the Golden Luxray Claws glow brighter and brighter as the battle is about to begin.

After a limited amount of contemplation, I have decided to use...

The Normally Abnormal Normal Squad!
Fetra - Female Clefable (Level 3)
Bio: Fetra's days as a space Clefariy are far behind her. Nowadays, the insanity of the TO has set in on her. When she's not belting out songs in horrible Japanese, she's often skipping around, declaring everything to be dainty. In fact, she's obsessed with daintyness. All she ever talks about is dainty, it seems. It's all the rage. She's often subject to the side effects of Waccky Baccy, however. Sometimes, she snaps out of her (mostly drug enduced) daintyness to put Koi and Quark in their places, but never at the right time, and always when its needed least. Dainty.
Special Attack - Dainty Cyclone (Grass)
Fetra's obession with daintyness has gone so far for her to come up with an attack which, in her own high words, "is the epitome of daintyness." Because of the so-called "lifeblood" of Normal Movesets, at least according to Pupurin, the PCNY, Fetra knows Petal Dance, which has been labeled as "totally dainty". She decided that this wasn't good enough, and that she needed to up the "daintyness factor" by putting more dance into the petals. Therefor, she's used her "dainty" wings to modify Petal Dance and increase its "daintyness". Firstly, she creates a good deal of Petals and Magical Leafs (which, because of the magical part, are considered quite dainty). Next, she starts to spin, and flap her wings. This sends the petals and leaves flying, surprisingly, right towards her foe. Each petal does light damage, with the Magical Leafs doing a little more. Overall, the attack does the damage of both a Petal Dance and a Magical Leaf, and takes the energy of both attacks. Even with Fetra's intense daintyness, she still can't help but to get somewhat dizzy after she uses the attack, and must recover for about 7 seconds after the attack. The attack can only be used twice a battle, because anymore usages wouldn't be very "dainty". Since she has now developed this new technique, she sees little use for "attacks of inferior daintyness", and, therefore, will not use Petal Dance, and will only use Magical Leaf once. God. I don't think I've ever typed the word "dainty" that many times.


Ryuusei-Female Blissey (Level 3)
Bio: Ryuusei is the only sane one of my Normal squad. She's a cheery egg-carrieing pink blob, and often goes around complementing people and spreading cheer. She is often seen distributing freshly picked flowers from her garden behind the TO. Often when she battles, she's in a very cheery mood, and, even though its not impossible, it is hard to make her angry. However, one thing that makes her sad is the fact that she can't use the attack Swift, which she finds very appealing. However, after some hard training with Fetra, she has learned to use Swift, but with a little bit of a twist to it.
Singature Attack- Nagareboshi Danmaku (Various)
When Ryuusei uses Nagareboshi Danmaku, or "Shooting Star Barrage", she creates 15-20 stars shaped simmilar to the INDIVIDUAL stars of a Swift attack around her and launches them at her foe, which each hit for slightly more than one Swift STAR would. If they all hit, they do moderate damage. However, these Swift stars have a little extra thing to them. By using the leftover energy from the last attack to have easier access to the energy type, the attack takes the type of the last attack used, or are Normal if no attack was used before. To preform this move, it takes the energy 2 Swifts, along with the energy of the lowest attack of the type (example: Fire - Ember, Water - Bubble, Grass - Razor Leaf, Fighting - Karate Chop, etc.) This attack may only be used 3 times a battle.

Pupurin - Male Wigglytuff (Level 3)
Bio: Pupurin, the sadistic, sarcastic, critical, and gruff Wigglytuff. The perfect addition to my team of total misfits. He often hangs around the TO making snide comments about everything, and "accidnetly" drinking sake or Japanese beer. Suprisingly, he has the strange ability to not become drunk. Regardless, he loves explosions. Sort of pissy with Present for being not explosive enough, he's developed his own explosiony twist, using his affinity for the Tri-Attack Elements.
Signature Attack - Elemental Fireworks
Pupurin starts by surrounding himself in an aura of either Fire, Ice, or Electrical energy, then quickly releases the energy all around him. This creates a small, explosion-like attack, which radiates out from Pupurin for 2 feet, doing less damage the farther away it is. At close range, it does damage of a Flamethrower, Ice Beam or Thunderbolt, depending on which element is used. At maximum range, it does the damage of an Elemental Punch. The attack can be ordered to be charged up, then released (all as one attack), but it requires slightly more energy to sustain it, taking an Ember, Powdered Snow, or Thundershock every 30 seconds sustained. However, no additional damage is done when sustained. No Fire, Ice or Electric attacks may be used during this time, but any physical attacks which require little to no charging can be used. Regularly, the attack takes the energy of a Flamethrower and an Ember, an Ice Beam and a Powdered Snow, or a Thunderbolt and Thundershock. It may only be used three times a battle, and each element may only be used once per battle.


Koi-Male Kecleon (Level 3)
Bio: Koi: Male Kecleon. If I wasn't trying to get this sig passed, that'd be 'nuff. The TO's resident Kecleon, and Jeri's favorite wacky Pokemon. Hana fanboy, Haruhi obsesser, and master of the internet meme, Koi has risen to a god-like status, at least in his mind. He believes that one day, Kecleon shall rule all humans and Pokemon, and they, with their Spinda and Snorunt brethren, will annoy Talon to no end by jumping out of the bushes and saying, "Supwise! :3". Or just generally take over the world. Like said before, Koi loves Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, and has seen every episode so many times, he can act them out perfectly. He even knows the Hare Hare Yukai Dance, with in all variations and choppy, poorly choreographed styles. (he had to learn it anyways, as for it was on his test to become a meme master). His favorite episode, though, is the first, mostly because he likes Mikuru, and the fact that his name appears a few times in the opening song. Koi is extremely jealous of her eyebeams, so, using Hidden Power as a starting point, Koi has developed eyebeams like Mikuru. Well, sorta.
Signature Attack - Koi no Majikaru Biimu! (Various)
Koi uses an altered version of Hidden Power, using his eyes to fire the energy in jagged beam shapes. This attack is almost totally akin to Hidden Power, with two exceptions (not including shape). Number one, Koi can use this attack with any type that he has access to, with the cost of two Embers attached onto the energy. Number two, it costs slightly more energy for the attack, but not by a ton. Since Koi has focused on learning this attack, he's forgotten how to use Hidden Power and Secret Power.


Quark - Male Spinda (Level 3)
Bio: The name Quark describes this Spinda quite well. Quark is a quirky little panda. He is the epitome of random, regardless of what AF says. Even his spots display a level of randomness, with the exception of the two at the tips of his ears. Quark has many little characteristics/quirks/general things which make him so random. For one, he enjoys poking spleens. This has become a past time of sorts for him, and he can often be seen doing this. Also, he is a world-renound calligraphist. His work is considered some of the best in the world for its precision, style and grace. Furthermore, he has an unnatural obsession with balloons, and has been known to rabidly attack random passersby and abscond with their helium-filled delights. In the TO, or anywhere else for that matter, he's often seen following Koi around and engaging in his strange activities. Being a Spinda, he has, as Shadow likes to call it, "pseudo-psychic abilities." When in battle, he enjoys using said abilities to play with his enemy. Combining his mild psychic power, his love of balloons, and calligraphic abilities, the bear has developed a new technique.

Signature Attack - Fusen no Chounouryoku no Kanji
Having a great love for the calligraphic arts, balloons, and his (limited) psychic power, Quark has created a battling technique incorporating all these skills and enjoyments. First, Quark creates a ball of Psychic energy in his hand. He "blows up" the energy, just like a balloon. Using the limited types of energy he has access to, he scrawls the kanji representing the type of energy he wants to use upon the energy-balloon. This inscription is made up of the type-energy itself, and can be any of the few types that he has access to (including Normal and Psychic). Finally, Quark tosses the balloon at his enemy. When the balloon comes in contact with something fairly solid, it bursts. Upon bursting, a wave of Psychic energy and the energy which was "written" into the balloon radiates 2 feet from the balloon, doing half an Ice Beam's worth of the selected type, and a quarter an Ice Beam's worth of damage of Psychic damage. If the balloon hits the foe, it does the remaining quarter of the Ice Beam's Psychic damage. The attack takes up half an Ice Beam's worth of Psychic energy, and the half an Ice Beam's worth of the type selected. The attack may be used 3 times a battle.

Propaganda - Male Lickitung (Level 3)
Bio: "Propaganda is a type of money aimed at influencing the peanut butter or behavior of people." ~ From Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia
This is a pretty accurate way to describe Propaganda, nonsensical. Propaganda received his name after being hired by Koi to help take over the world after a large slump in mindless Kecleon loving. Using his large mouth and even larger tounge, Propaganda tried to influence the masses with Koi's odd Kecleon-based speeches, but his appearance and large tongue obstructing his mouth made them more comical than brainwashing. Ever since then, he has battled for Koi and the Normal Squad after Shoushi left on a pilgrimage of enlightenment.

In all, Propaganda is a strange character, not unlike his teammates. He speaks nearly exclusively in quotes, most of which do not pertain to the topic at hand, and is oddly fluent in Latin, which is the only language that he speaks normally. The sad thing is, no one can understand him, and when he does speak in Latin, he only speaks in short, commonly incomplete, phrases.

Koi, being the "master battler" that he is, believed that Propaganda needed at least one defensive move in his highly offensive movepool, and, taking advantage of his big tongue, helped him develop a defensive technique.

Well, I don't love using one Pokemon repeatedly, but...

Round 1

Sorry, this is a hard arena to ref.

"Let's go! Xiaolin Showdown!"

The amusement park begins to change shape, the roller coaster growing larger and adding many more twists and turns, the ferris wheel growing to twice its size. The merry-go-round begins to spin faster and faster without stopping. All the while, onlookers stop and stare at these amazing changes. All in all, the new park seems to be alot more dangerous than the way it used to be, looking more like a carnival that is just asking to get sued.

"Gong Yi Tan Pi!"

Jeri and Kishu throw their Pokeballs high into the air, Propaganda the Lickitung coming out of Jeri's ball, and Tsurugi the Jolteon out of Kishu's. The two Pokemon stare eachother down as the battle begins. Propaganda immediately spinning itself around at rapid speeds, using its Swords Dance. At this point, Tsurugi uses an Agility to boost its speed, quickly sprinting away and into a ferris wheel cabin and hiding. The doors closing behind her, Propaganda charges up a small blue orb in front of himself, unleashing a blue bolt of Ice Beam, freezing the cabin doors together. But, what's this, the attendant doesn't seem to be happy as he picks up a phone attached to the control panel for the ride and calls security. This can only be bad for Jeri in future rounds. The attendant then pulls a lever and the ferris wheel spins a little, Tsurugi's cabin moving to about the ten o' clock position.

At the end of this round, there has been absolutely no damage. Propaganda used up a good amount of energy, not breathing heavy yet. Tsurugi used up a small amount, not breathing heavy at all.

And now, attacks from Kishu Arashi.

Round 2

Tsurugi stares around the cabin, as it wonders what it is supposed to attack with Shock Wave. At the same time, Propaganda charges up a Hyper Beam, lauching the mighty attack from its mouth, nailing the ferris wheel on the beam that supports Tsurugi's cabin. The beam bends, causing the cabin to drop a good bit before stopping and sitting, barely supported, on top of the cabin below. The sudden drop startles Tsurugi, causing the Jolteon to quickly fire a Shock Wave at the door in desperation. The shock short curcuits the ride, causing it to begin spinning rapidly and out of control. The cabin's beam breaks under immense tension, the cart flying high into the air. Propaganda quickly runs off, using an Agility. The cabin comes crashing down into the side of the roller coaster, causing a large dent in the rails which could be trouble in the future. The cabin then falls to the ground, severly crushed. The ice on the doors now broken, the right door falls off, revealing Tsurugi laying on the ground with two broken legs and a large gash in its side, caused by the broken and jagged bench. At this point, park security is finally showing up, in the form of a level one Machop.

At the end of this round. Propaganda has taken no damage. Propaganda has used a good bit of energy, breathing now apparent. Tsurugi has fainted and will be staying in the Pokemon Center for one battle due to extreme damage during a Slapstick match.

Round 3

In a flash of white light, Ryoku the the Breloom joins the fight (rhyme unintentional). Ryoku begins by attempting to Bulk itself Up, but Propaganda fires a large Fire Blast, the kanji for large slamming into Ryoku, causing it to double over in pain, mostly because of the severe burn on his stomach. Ryoku attempts a Mach Punch, lunging forward at Propaganda, but his burn slows him down long enough for Propaganda to use a mighty Blizzard, the ice and wind pushing Ryoku back and flying into the ferris wheel cabin that his partner was in. The security Machop now comes running at Propaganda and gives him a pretty weak Karate Chop to the back.

At the end of this round. Propaganda has taken a very small amount of damage, still way higher than Above Average. Propaganda has used a lot of energy, breathing getting heavy now. Ryoku took a lot of damage, just about Above Average. Ryoku used a small amount of energy, breathing not yet apparent.

Round 4

Ryoku begins to glow a bright white, using a mighty Flash, but is interrupted by a strong blow from Propaganda's Return, the attack making Ryoku topple over, the Flash only half-blinding Propaganda. As Ryoku gets up, he is clobbered yet again by a Return from Propaganda. Ryoku manages to prevent itself from toppling over this time, and ends the round by firing a single Leech Seed at Propaganda. The seed sticks to Propaganda's arm and vines grow all around Propaganda's body, sucking up energy and health.

At the end of this round, Propaganda has taken a small amount of damage, still way Above Average. Propaganda has used a good amount of energy, breathing heavy at this point. Ryoku took a good amount of damage, between Average and Above Average. Ryoku has used a decent amount of energy, breathing just slightly apparent. Propaganda can see colors and basic shapes.

Ryoku rushes in for a Mach Punch, while Propaganda prepares a Facade, the rage enduced attack unleashed just before Ryoku can land the punch, Propaganda slams into Ryoku, sending the Breloom backwards far and hitting into the nearby carousel. The security Machop from earlier reacts quickly seeing this and Karate Chops Propaganda in the back for light damage, backing off again. Ryoku gets up and comes rushing at Propaganda again, while Propaganda charges fire energy into his fist. This time, the two attacks collide at the same time, Ryoku getting slammed in the side by a Fire Punch, toppling over yet again, and Propaganda getting lifted off the ground slightly by a Sky Uppercut and falling on his backside.

At the end of this round, Propaganda has taken a decent amount of damage, around Above Average. Propaganda has used a good amount of energy, breathing critically. Ryoku has taken a good amount of damage, about Average. Ryoku has used a decent amount of energy, breathing now becoming apparent. Propaganda can now see colors and advanced shapes, eyesight should be back to normal at the end of the next round.

"Dodge the heaviest attack. Rest at the end of the round. If Ryoku is ordered to wait until you fall asleep to attack, just don't Rest."
