Grovyle UPN PASBL: Biggggg5 vs Charminions

Biggggg5(a) vs. Charminions(c)
6v6
Singles
Hidden Squad
Equilevel
48 HR DQ (RF when possible)
Slapstick
Switch=KO
Shifting Stadium

All righty then. Today we have a 6v6 match between Big and Charm to active people. This looks to be a good match.

First off let's look at that Arena description.

Spoiler: show
Shifting Stadium (Outdoor Custom Arena): A large stadium similar to Pummelo Stadium that shifts environments on a regular basis. It can simulate many more environments than Pummelo Stadium, however. The stadium shifts once every 4 or 5 rounds, to a random environment. The environments are:
Normal Stadium (10% chance): Not really an environment, but a normal stadium with the same rules as a Clay Arena. All battles must start with this environment.
Grass Field (10% chance): A grass field almost exactly like the Grass Field from the Indigo League in the Anime. In other words, all grass and nothing else.
Rock Field (10% chance): A Rock Field almost exactly like the Rock Field from the Indigo League. There are several Snorlax-sized boulders in this arena.
Water Field (10% chance): A Water Field almost exactly like the Water Field from the Indigo League. In other words, there are two Snorlax-sized platforms floating on the surface of the water, across from each other.
Ice Field (10% chance): An Ice Field similar to the Ice Field from the Indigo League, with a few very small glaciers around the arena.
Forest Fire (10% chance): A Forest Arena, except the forest is on fire, and the fire does spread quickly.
Beach (10% chance): A Beach Arena, but without all the volleyball nets and other things you might find at a beach, other than... well, the actual beach.
Snow-Capped Mountain (10% chance): A few enormous snow-capped mountains. They aren't very hard to climb for a Pokemon with sharp claws or Pokemon that can grip the ice, but other Pokemon will have some problems.
Swamp (10% chance): A Swamp Arena, with simulated fog. There is a fog machine somewhere in the arena, and the fog will become much less dense if the fog machine is destroyed.
Desert (10% chance): A vast desert, full of cacti. However, in most cases, it will be a desert without the extremely high temperatures.
One arena can be picked up to three times in a row, but an unlimited amount of times for the entire match.
Special Rules: Fog (Swamp only), Boulders (Rock Field only), Ice Field (Ice Field only), Water under Ice (Ice Field only), Pontoons (Water Field only), Sandy (Desert only), Snow Cover (Snow-Capped Mountain only), Thin Ice (Ice Field only), Stadium, Onlookers, Artificial Lighting, Announcer

This looks interesting. We will be starting on the normal stadium. Since it's hidden squad I'll need a PM from each of you with your squads, first 'mon, and orders.

Squad, first mon, and first orders are through pm. Then a coin flip decides who orders first after that.

Anyways, good luck Biggy, I'm looking forward to a match where we aren't complete noobs. Just half noobs. Thanks for taking this, Haymez.

Grovyle Round 1: Dance parties are the best parties.

All right, Welcome to the Normal stadium, which is essentially a clay arena. here are our orders:

Special Training - Master Swordsman
All attacks that involve Gilan's head scythe will do 10% more damage, however, all attacks that involve his tail, claws, and teeth will do 10% less damage.

I'll start with Gilan.

Swords Dance then Night Slash. Replace the latter with Aerial Ace if the opponent resists Night Slash.

There was an eelektrick chewing on the lines. i battled and caught it and named it after the lead singer Geddy Lee. While i was battling him he used a strange move i could not identify. I decided to name it after a lyric from one of Rush's songs.
Special Attack: Thunderheads are Rumbling (Electric)
Geddy releases a small black cloud which floats up into the sky and waits there. a few turns later a lighning bolt strikes the opponent pokemon. It is basically an electric type future sight doing the same damage and using the same energy except not psychic energy. This move can be used twice a match

go geddy. raindance then thunderbolt
And now Species characteristics:

Dark types can see in the dark. They prefer to fight at night, however light does not adversely affect them.

Eelektrik: (Electric) Eelektrik constantly levitates using a magnetic field. This levitation allows for fairly quick and nimble travel and requires no energy to maintain. They are also fairly good swimmers and are able to stay underwater as long as any Water type.
Electric types, in general, prefer areas where their electric attacks are most accurate. Thus, while hot temperatures don’t bother them, the fact that heat refracts electricity doesn’t appeal to them.

As the battle begins we see Gilan, with a very tasteful bio and sig, facing off against Geddy. They stare each other down. Let's dance... And that's what they start doing. No wait, not dance, dance FIGHT! ooooooohhhhh. Anyway, let Geddy perform you the dance of his people, a rain dance. Clouds begin to gather and the arena darkens gradually as the dance goes on, clouds eclipsing the sun. Gilan, on the other hand, is doing quite a different dance, spinning about quickly while weilding his horn as if it were a sword. Both pokemon finish their respective dances simultaneously, and wait for the judges scores.

Judge Number one? "8" Judge number two? "9" Judge number three? "2" *booing ensues*

Come back next week to find out who won on "PASBL Dance Battle".

Gilan rushes forward as Geddy prepares his next attack, firing it off with Gilan still a few feet away, the thunderbolt streaking from the eel's mouth and zapping Gilan, but leaving him without paralysis, allowing him to complete his rush and slash downward with the power of the night, throwing Geddy back a bit.

After this round both competitors are in similar places. Gilan has both a slight health and energy lead, sitting a good way above the first quarter health wise. Geddy is a minor way below that in health and is behind on energy by a slight amount more.

As for who goes next, the RNG says Big.

Grovyle Round 2: Sucks to be you.

Geddy begins preparing a large amount of electricity, but is distracted by a funny looking light. He stares at it for a second, and then is brutally sucker punched by Gilan. Now that was mean, not only did it do some nice damage, it shut down Geddy's attack, only giving Gilan a slight shock. Outraged at the underhandedness of the previous hit, Geddy gets ready to spit something absolutely vile in Gilan's general direction. A glob of toxic appearing in the back of the eel's throat. Gilan is ready, unfortunately, and leaps skyward, effectively avoiding the poison. He bounces off Geddy and lands lightly a few feet away, ready to go as the sky splits open, unleashing a torrential downpour on our erratic playing field.

Gilan took mild damage this round, the same margin above the first quarter. Good energy use, is beginning to show signs of fatigue.

Geddy took a lot of damage this round, sitting just above the halfway mark. Less energy use, he's feeling fine.

Grovyle Round 3: Extra invisible clouds, fun.

Geddy opens this round with some bug-like energy, firing off a beam bright enough to be used as a signal. Gilan isn't fast enough to get away and takes the full force of the hit, crying out in pain. The quadruped snarls menacingly at Geddy, letting him know that Absol are partial to fried eel. Dark energy cuts through Geddy, leaving him pained, but he gathers himself for the next move. He launches a small bolt of lightning into the sky, it forming a small cloud right in with all the others currently there, although it does nothing. For Now. *suspenceful music*

Geddy took good damage, sitting a decent way below half at this point. A lot of energy use, he's feeling pretty tired. Still has a fair amount of bug energy.

Gilan took massive damage, a moderate way above half now. He's feeling a lot better. His swords dance boost is starting to fade.

Big

Surround him in a Rock Tomb to block off the Beam. Sunny Day to cancel the rain. Baton Pass to Bones (Male Marowak).

Grovyle Round 4: Shut down

Gilan is quicker this round, and erects a rock tomb quickly around Geddy, whose charge beam crashes into the interior of the tomb, doing nothing in the way of damage, but does afford the eel a special attack boost, which should come in handy later. Having no other orders, Geddy sits tight while Gilan fires a small beam of fire energy into the sky, the sunny day clearing the clouds a bit, ending the rainstorm. Going for a third move, Gilan forms a baton out of energy before passing it to Bones the Marowak.

Quote:
Bones Level 3 Male Marowak
Special Attack - Bone Switch (Ground)
This is basically a Ground type Volt Switch. Bones charges a significant amount of ground energy into his bone. He then throws the bone at his target, dealing moderate damage to it. Then the bone returns to his hand, similarly to a Bonemerang. The rest of the energy is used to force Bones into his pokeball while a different pokemon takes his place with the same Psychological and physical mindset as Bones. The bone is set to return to Bones' hand so even if the attack were to miss, the bone would return back in his hand and the switch would occur unless the bone was physically stopped before returning to his hand. This is allowed in a Switch=KO match like Volt Switch, U-turn, and Baton Pass. This can only be used once per battle.
No damage was exchanged this round, but a large amount of energy was used by Gilan, though he'll regain some in the ball. Bones is fresh.

I hope Bones still has a small SD boost.

Obvious Rock Slide for obvious combo. He should be pinned to the ground due to the rubble, use this chance for an Earthquake. If he's not pinned for some reason, pounce on him with DC Earthquake instead.

Grovyle Round 5: When in doubt, flail about.

Being the fresher of the two, Bones slams the ground, causing all of the rocks in the tomb to slide down, effectively collapsing the tomb and burying poor Geddy. Eels typically aren't claustrophobic, and neither is Geddy, but he would much rather be free than trapped. He thrashes about wildly trying to shift the rocks off of him. His squirming affords him a small gap just wide enough for his serpentine body to wriggle through. He pops out of the rocks just in time to see Bones rushing towards him, slamming downward with the force of an earthquake. Taken completely by surprise Geddy is pounded into oblivion, sinking back down into the tomb he had though he was free from. As the competitors look on an ominous rumbling is heard overhead.

Geddy is unable to battle! Next 'mon and orders from Big!

Bones took no damage, and used a fair amount of energy. SD boost is gone at this point.

A bag is pulled over everyone's heads and a loud rumbling is heard. When the bags are removed the trainers notice that the arena has shifted, and the competitors are now standing on the grass field.

Grovyle Round 6: In which nothing interesting happens

Replacing his fallen pokemon, Big sends out Queendra, the level 3 female Horsea.

Quote:

Water Pokémon are able to hold their breath and/or breathe under water. The time varies, from about half an hour to one hour for reptilians and mammals, and indefinitely for fish and squid like Pokémon. They are also, generally, good swimmers.
The not fully realized Queendra balances on her curled tail and begins dancing about, trying to summon rain. The clouds re-gather and the sky darkens. Meanwhile, Bones makes use of his sig move, throwing his bone which slams into Princessdra, knocking her over, before returning to Bones, who quickly switches out to Boltman the Electabuzz, ending the round.

Quote:
Boltman Level 3 Male Electabuzz
Special Training - Ice Power (Ice)
After extensive training with the ice pokemon near Snowpoint City, Boltman's Hidden Power is now of the Ice typing. He has enough ice energy for 3 uses of this move, however, he has forgotten Ice Punch because he doesn't feel the need to use ice energy for close range since he has multiple close ranged attacks.
Quote:
Electabuzz (Electric): If an Electabuzz sees the color red, it may launch into a blind rage. While in this rage, an Electabuzz’s attack is doubled, at the expense of a halved defense. A trainer may, with a note in their bio, however, say they’ve trained Electabuzz not to respond to red. However, Electabuzz will lose the ability to go into this rage if they do so.
Electric types, in general, prefer areas where their electric attacks are most accurate. Thus, while hot temperatures don’t bother them, the fact that heat refracts electricity doesn’t appeal to them.
Just as Boltman enters a lightning bolt streaks down from above, zapping the electabuzz for some moderate damage.

Boltman took moderate damage, no energy use.

Princessdra used a bit of energy, took light damage.

Bones took no damage, will regain energy in the ball.

Hey look at that, the quotes are longer than the actual reffing.

Charm.
