UPN PASBL: Shadowshocker vs. Excalibur

Quote:
Shadowshocker vs Excalibur, Excalibur challenged
Slapstick
2-on-2
Single
Equiall
Ship's Deck
UPN
Return = KO
Quote:
Ships Deck (Outdoor): The battle takes place on a cruise ship out on the ocean. On the ship specifically, the battle starts off on the ship's front deck. It is quite probably that the battle can spill out into the ocean or into the inside of the ship.
Special Rules: Easily destroyed, Onlookers, Terrain Edge (Sea w/ Wild Pokémon [sea] as an special rule), Building Edge (Concrete/Indoor with special rules Onlookers and Confined in effect)
Optional Rules: Artificial Lighting, Terrain Edge (Pool/Outdoor [basically, a pool on the front deck] with special rule diving platform in effect), Terrain Edge (Beach, replaces Sea [aka ship is docked in harbor])
The sun hangs high overhead, shining its rays down upon a beautiful ocean scene. Wingull and Pelipper fly blissfully above, all sorts of undersea Pokemon swimming about and enjoying themselves. White foam begins to float along the water as a large cruise liner powers through the water, before dropping anchor.

"Well folks, let's get this show on the road!" The scene shifts immediately to the deck of the ship, where room has been cleared for a Pokemon battle. The referee stands at the edge of the deck in the middle of the makeshift arena, watching as both trainers stand ready.

"This Pokemon battle will be fought between Shadowshocker and Excalibur, and each trainer will use two Pokemon. This match will be both equilevel and equievolution, and any Pokemon which is returned to its Pokeball will be considered KO'ed. Slapstick ruling is in play for this match, and a 72 hour disqualification time is in effect. Since no extra rules were specified, the battle will simply take place here on the deck on the ship, unless a Pokemon is tossed overboard, in which case we will improvise."

Excalibur will post his squad of six (assuming gender, apologies if wrong)
Shadowshocker will post his squad of six, and send out his first Pokemon
Excalibur will send out his first Pokemon, and order attacks
Shadowshocker will order attacks
I'll make myself sound important by telling you what happens
Reversification, etc.

So, without further ado, LET'S BEGIN!

Re: UPN PASBL: Shadowshocker vs. Excalibur

Indeed, I am a Male.

Alrighty, here we go!

Sousuke - Male Ninjask (Level 2)

Biography: When my travels brought me to Hoenn, I found this guy as a Nincada outside of Slateport, resting peacefully on a rock. I excitedly attempted to capture him, only to find he was actually awake, hoping to lure another Pokemon into a conflict. Sousuke seems to consider himself somewhat of a ninja. He takes great delight in confounding and deceiving his opponents. He has trained extensively in what he seems to think are the 'ninja arts'; I call it dodging.
Special Training - Karakuri No Jutsu
Sousuke's extensive endeavors into learning the art of Ninjutsu paid off with an increased skill in avoiding attacks. Sousuke, however, seems to think this ability is much more advanced than it is in reality. Whenever Sousuke is attacked, there is a 5% chance his training will pull through and he will dodge the attack, unless it is a homing attack or something which directly targets him without passing actual distance. However, he has neglected training defense for this and is such slightly more susceptible to physical attacks than normal.

Aisumaru - Male Seel (Level 1)

Haku - Female Snorunt (Level 1)

Rin - Female Butterfree (Level 1)

Re: UPN PASBL: Shadowshocker vs. Excalibur

Hm? Only 4 Pokes? I think I'll do the same...

Remmy/Experiment 276: Level 3 Male Haunter
Originally trained to get into the minds of enemies and turn all their dreams into nightmares. By using his haunting and possessing abilities, Remmy was able to cause powerful nightmares in the minds of humans and Pokemon alike. Remmy loves to torment his victims by generating pleasant dreams, then immediately following with disastrous nightmares. Remmy was originally designed to remain in his target's head forever if his target woke up while Remmy was still inside, but he saw no point to staying in someone's head for eternity. Outside of battle, Remmy's just another Gastly, but unlike Grim he tends be slower in getting the gist of things, resulting in Ploot hunting him down for chores (and succeeding).
Signature Move: Nasty Nightmare
Remmy's Nightmare attack only kicks in after one round instead of immediately, but if the affected Pokemon remains asleep after one round it will lose energy 1.5 times faster.

Angel/Experiment 624: Level 3 Female shiny Nidorina
Originally, she was supposed to be able to turn good people and experiments to evil by singing her special song, but this went beyond several laws of ethics and physical possibilities. Instead, she has focused her singing abilities into disabling her opponents.
Signature Move: Dark Song
Angel can use Sing in place of Supersonic.

Dave: Level 3 Male Kadabra
The subleader of Shadowshocker's non-Gym Squad who constantly strives to do his best and surpass his normal abilities. Through meditation he mastered not only a calm composure and discipline, but also the ability to strike without warning when his enemies least expect it.
Signature Move: Destined Roulette
When Dave became a Kadabra, he further sought to better amplify his psychokinetic powers and use them in even more aspects. As such, he combined his clairvoyant capabilities from Future Sight with Metronome to generate a new attack. Using Future Sight, Dave times his Metronome attack to use it at the exact moment, during which a certain designated attack will be generated from the Metronome. Dave can only browse through 200 attacks in one turn; if the designated attack does not appear in a list of randomly generated attacks, nothing happens. When he uses Destined Roulette, Dave has to concentrate hard enough that renders him otherwise immobile and thus prone to enemy attacks for as long as needed to randomly search for his designated attack. Destined Roulette uses up energy equivalent to 2.5 Future Sights, as well as the energy of the attack generated. If Dave does not have enough energy to use the designated attack, Destined Roulette fails, but Dave still suffers the 2.5 Future Sight energy cost. Regardless of result, Destined Roulette can only be used once a battle, and counts as a two-move combination that cannot be combined in three-move combinations.
To ref Destined Roulette, visit http://www.randomizer.org/form.htm and for each question key in the following values:
How many sets of numbers do you want to generate?: 10
How many numbers per set?: 20
Number range (e.g., 1-50): From 1 to 355
Do you wish each number in a set to remain unique?: Yes
When the results are generated, use the Find Command in your browser to look for the corresponding attack number. (Example: Flamethrower is 101)
If the number is absent, the attack fails.
If the number is present, its position in the list roughly indicates how long it takes for Dave to remain still and locate the attack.

Zapster: Level 3 Male Electabuzz
A playful, brash member of Shadowshocker's Squad. Zapster has been known to go out and play in the midst of lightning storms, and can absorb lightning strikes to the extent of hurting himself.
Signature Move: Storm Blessing
Zapster lets fly a blast of electricity into the sky. The same blast comes down in the form of a lightning bolt onto his opponent one to three turns later (similar to Future Sight), shocking them severely. Before the attack comes, rumblings begin to echo from the sky and a brilliant flash of light may occur. Storm Blessing uses up as much energy as Future Sight and also does as much damage as Future Sight. Zapster can't use this attack more than once each battle and he can't use this attack while battling in indoor arenas.

I select, Zapster!

Alright, I'll start with Haku. Use an Icy Wind to begin. If he attacks you, dodge. If not, Long Term Agility. Be prepared to close your eyes/cover your ears as needed.

To a good battle, Shadow-Sama.

Re: UPN PASBL: Shadowshocker vs. Excalibur

Thanks for the bump. I started this the other night, then lost my Net connection.

Both trainers seem eager to get things underway, Shadow choosing his Electabuzz, a Pokemon I'm regretably all TOO familiar with, to face off against Excalibur's Snorunt. Zapster and Haku begin immediately, Haku launching an Icy Wind across the deck, towards Zapster's previous location. The Electabuzz, however, was not there anymore, having emerged behind the Snorunt with a Teleport.

*cue Psycho music and a well-timed scream from Haku*

Zapster snatches up the Snorunt, hurling it across the deck, but it seems the deck is a tad too big from Zapster to hurl Haku overboard (my fault, sorry, should have given deck size), and the Snorunt smacks head first into the guard rails, falling to the deck unhappy.

For further clarification, the deck of the ship is roughly the size of a football field, and Zapster and Haku were released in the middle. Zapster (who weighs 66.1 lbs) tried to hurl Haku (who weighs 37 lbs) over 25 metres, over a guard rail roughly a metre high. Basically, the RNG said almost, but not quite.

Zapster has yet to be injured, but used up a huge amount of psychic energy with Teleport, and will be unlikely in using it again. His energy stands at the above average level.

Haku has used a little energy, but his health has decreased a fair bit due to the speed he was doing when he smacked into the guard rail (which has been dented, btw). His health stands at above average.

*blink* Well that's relatively simple to circumvent. I want you to keep a fair distance away from him, far enough to stay out of the threat range of a Karate Chop. Circle around and get behind him. Hit his little yellow butt with a Flash, followed by an Icy Wind.

Re: UPN PASBL: Shadowshocker vs. Excalibur

Zapster immediately dashes off, heading for the large mast at the end of the arena, and ducks behind it, peeking out slightly to look for Haku. The Snorunt, however, is trying to sneak around behind Zapster, and after a few moments, ends up behind him, but not without Zapster noticing. Karate Chop and Flash are unleashed together, both attacks connecting with a burst of light and dual screams.

Zapster steps backwards, blinking rapidly to try and recover, while Haku tries to regain his senses after being bonked on the noggin. He wraps up this round with an Icy Wind, causing the Electabuzz much discomfort and some slight freezing of his... fur? Anyway, his lower body and legs have a thin layer of ice on them.

Zapster took some damage this round, but not really enough to knock him into above average. He's still shivering, and could have some slight speed issues with the partial frozen legs of his. He's also blind, and his energy has dropped, nearing the lower reaches of above average.

Haku's health has decreased (and I'd be willing to beat he'll be concussed by this match's end, with all the blows to the head he's been suffering), reaching the lower end of above average. His energy has decreased as well, putting him to above average.

I believe the one-mover light should be on... Excalibur, then Shadowshocker.

Hmm... Alright then, one mover...

Spikes to coat the area around him. Spread them fairly wide, so no matter where the blind blob of yellow goes he steps in them.

Re: UPN PASBL: Shadowshocker vs. Excalibur

Haku begins this round by spinning, showering his surroundings with Spikes, which could prove painful in future rounds. Zapster, however, seems unamused at having his 'little yellow butt' hit with a Flash, so he promptly responds in kind, another burst of light causing Haku to squeal.

Neither Pokemon has taken any damage this round, and both have used some energy (Zapster is still at the lower end of above average, Haku is heading for the mid-ranges of above average). Both are blind, and there are Spikes scattered around them, which could sting them both if they step on them.

Shadow, then Excalibur.

Hn. Alright then, Haku, don't move. You had to be facing him for the flash to hit your eyes, so use your memory and other senses to remember the direction he's in. Once you've located him, send an Ice Beam at him, in the general direction of his face. After, give him an Icy Wind.

Re: UPN PASBL: Shadowshocker vs. Excalibur

Apologies for the delay.

Zapster calmly begins to concentrate, Meditating quietly, while Haku tries to locate Zapster without his eyes. Taking an educated guess, Haku fires an Ice Beam, the energy attack striking the very edge of Zapster's left arm, leaving the upper section frozen. Shaken out of his meditation, Zapster looks in the general direction of his hurt limb, before a chilly burst of Icy Wind comes at him, causing him to shiver. He finishes off with a second Meditate.

Zapster's attack has increased due to both Meditates, but from his shoulder to his elbow on his left arm is frozen. His energy has only decreased slightly, and his health has decreased to above average. He's also shivering frantically, and could be a bit sluggish in responding next round if he doesn't warm up. Zapster is also just able to see blurry objects, but only at close range.

Haku has taken no damage, and his energy has decreased, almost into the lower reaches of above average. He is still unable to see much, but has a general idea of where Zapster is.

Excalibur, then Shadowshocker.

Re: UPN PASBL: Shadowshocker vs. Excalibur

Apologies for the delay.

Haku begins to boost himself with a long-term Agility, readying himself for the upcoming rounds. However, Zapster has, at the same time, blasted a Shock Wave at the deck of the ship, the wide electrical attack scattering the spikes, a few slashing at Haku as the Shock Wave reaches him. Minor electric damage courses through the ice type, and the round ends.

Zapster took no damage, almost to the average level in energy.

Haku's energy is a fraction above average, pretty much almost anything he does will drop him to average level. His health has decreased, almost reaching the average level.

Most of the spikes between them are gone, with only one or two not caught up by the Shock Wave. The rest are now behind Haku, ranging from 1-6 feet away from him.

Alright, since this a two on two, Detect can only block one offensive move... (No three movers, detect is a two mover is it blocks more than one, etc.)

Hehe.

Alright, use a Bite to cause hit to waste the Detect. Follow up with a Blizzard on the poor sap.

Re: UPN PASBL: Shadowshocker vs. Excalibur

Zapster closes his eyes, focusing his energy to summon a Thunder Blessing later on in this match. Returning his attention to the round at hand, he Detects Haku rushing at him for a Bite, and side-steps it easily, but Haku turns and fires a Blizzard at Zapster, blasting Zapster's lower half with a devastating attack. Zapster shivers, his right leg frozen to the Ship's Deck.

Haku took no damage, but his energy is low average. His eyesight's back.

Zapster took a large blow, his health just into the average level. His right leg is completely frozen from just below his body to the deck below him. His energy is around the mid-average level. His eyesight is also back.

Excalibur, then Shadowshocker.
