Magmortar UPN PASBL: Kusari vs Firewater

So, two familiar faces duking it in out in an arena that reminds me of PMD....

Quote:
Kusari (C) vs. Firewater (A)
6 vs 6
Singles
Equiall (5)
Slapstick
48 hr DQ
Return = KO
Hidden Squad/First Round
Thunder Meadow: A rough landscape, consisting of rough grass, with what seems to be a dead tree that was struck in two by thunder near the entrance. There is also a small fissure at the end of the cliff. The sky shows a storm on the horizon with thunder clouds. It is ripe with Electric Pokemon.
Special Rules: Thunderstorm (starts after 5 rounds), Wild Pokemon (Sentret, Furret, Mareep, Flaafy, Ampharos, Elektrike, Manectric, Plusle, Minun, Castform, Chimecho)
So PMs from both of you, including squad, first selection and first orders.
Then Kusari orders.

Umbreon Round 1: Hidden Squad, Hidden Orders

The two trainers enter the arena from PMD, readying themselves for battle. They engage in some small talk, shake hands and walk to opposite sides of the fissure. They choose 6 of their most trusted Pokemon, selecting the first one. They throw the red and white balls into the air, two very different Pokemon emerging from each.

Fissure (Level 5 male Bastodion)
Signature Ability: tough as a Skyscraper: When the skyscraper fell on him in that incident I've not mentioned ever, it was lucky that he hadn't died. Having millions of tons of steel and glass and stone and other materials falling on you isn't good. However, after his full recovery, Fissure realizes that he really was a tough SOB- and really didn't care less about Physical damage anymore- or at least Fighting and Ground moves. Special based fighting and Ground moves e.g. Focus Blast, Earth Power deal 4x damage as normal. However, physical moves like Brick Break and Drill Liner deal only 2x damage. Fissure use Fissure or Earthquake and is more susceptible to emotion changing attacks. This was caused from being under the rubble for so long that he was emotionally injured during this time, and as a result he is more susceptible to fear inducing, confusion and attraction moves. He also moves 50% slower than other Bastodion and it takes him slightly longer to comprehend orders.

start with a Stealth Rock, then Hidden Power. if you see a Gilscor, Blizzard that fuck instead of the power.

From FW, we have Fissure, a male Bastiodon and from Kusari, Emma, a female Driblim.

Quote:
Bastiodon (Rock/Steel): Bastiodon's face plate is thick and extremely sturdy. Physical hits done to it will be greatly reduced in strength, but those done to its tender, unprotected back will do slightly more than normal damage. Also, attacks involving charging are less effective, as it is hard for Bastiodon to gain momentum. Rock types generally have hard bodies, which makes them resistant to unskilled (non-fighting) blows. However, most are so heavy that they will sink in water, so they stay away from deep-water sources if possible. Rock types prefer heat to cold. Steel types, like rock types, have hard bodies, making them resistant to unskilled physical blows, and sink in water. While not bothered by water to the degree rock types are, they still would rather fight out of the water. Unlike rock types, most steel Pokémon prefer cold temperatures to hot ones.

Drifblim (Ghost/Flying): Drifloon is considered familiar with Psychic abilities. It can inflate itself to either provide a slight defense against physical attacks or for propulsion. Driblim is almost always solid, but able to turn ethereal for short periods of time. They are very nimble in the air but light much like Hoppip and can be blown about easily by winds, but in ethereal, they are not influenced by winds or other similar forces. These Pokemon are in solid form about 85% of the time (the rest of the time, the Pokemon will appear gaseous and cannot enter ethereal mode). Surprise physical attacks will connect with Drifblim most of the time (about 85%). These Pokemon, like Misdreavus, cannot pass through solid objects. Drifblim is considered 'familiar' with Psychic abilities. As flying types, these pokémon move faster than the average ghost, though they can be blown off course by very strong winds. All ghosts fight more enthusiastically at night, though light does not hinder their ability to battle. Flying Pokémon, with a few exceptions, all fly. Those who cannot are faster and more agile in their chosen mode of transportation. When standing on the ground, they take 1x damage from Electric moves.
Fissure starts this round off, stomping hard on the ground. He continously smashes his head into the ground, causing Rocks to emerge from the ground, which strike into Emma, before Stealthily retreating into ground, ready to strike the new members of Kusari's team that get sent out. Emma retaliates by charging a Will-O-Wisp in her mouth, heating it to extremes, then firing it at Fissure. It hits Fissure's face, dealing good damage, but leaves him burn-free. Fissure then looks for the Power that is Hidden deep inside of him. The Hidden Power surfaces from his body in the form of rocky orbs. The orbs are fired at Emma, the orbs with rocky essence hitting Emma for a nice chunk of damage. Emma then Hexes Fissure, an eye of Ghost Energy being formed above her to deal little damage, thanks to the resistance.

Condition
Emma took beyond extreme damage, already a considerable way over the midpoint. She used high energy, a high way over the second quarter. Fire Energy fuels 2 Will-O-Wisps.

Fissure took considerable damage, a solid way over the second quarter. He used the same amount of energy as Emma.

Kusari, go!

Umbreon Round 2: Switcheroo

Emma begins this round with some escape tactics. She knows that she won't survive for long with this matchup, and decides to leave. She forms a Baton of energy, then Passes to another team member. Said member is Leonidas, a Tauros.

Quote:
Tauros (Normal): Tauros is a powerful charger. Any tackling or ramming attacks do extra damage, as Tauros continues over the opponent, doing extra trampling damage. Normal types can use the greatest variety of attacks in the league: they pay for this, however, by having less type energy. In the ASB, Normal types take 100% damage from Ghost type moves.
Leonidas lands on the ground, causing the ground to shake. The Stealth Rocks pop out of the ground and strike Leo, before retreating. A curious wild Minun and a Plusle come to check out the battle.

Fissure begins Taunting Leo, saying some nasting things about it. All I can say is, it's a good thing there are no kids around. Apart from the Minun and Plusle, who begin crying. Anyway, Leo becomes enraged with Fissure, wanting to tear him apart limb by limb. The show of anger frightens the Minun and Plusle even more. Fissure then generates some sharp Stones, with lethallt sharp Edges and launches them at Leo, dealing significant damage.

Condition
Leo took severe damage, a light way from the second quarter. He used no energy.

Fissure took no damage, but used significant energy, still in the first quarter.

FW, go!

I just thought that since Baton Pass needs a little bit of time to charge that Taunt would have happened?

Umbreon Round 3: Boring

Fissure stomps on the gound, causing Rocks to emerge and enTomb the fierce Leo. Leo Smashes his way out of the Rocks, setting him free. He tries to Work himself Up, but is quickly by the horrid Sound of skidding Metal.

Condition
No one took damage. Leo used good energy, while Fissure used solid energy. Leo can use 2 more Rock Smashes before running out of Fighting Energy.

Kusari, go!

Round 3: Can't...Miss...Ref Bonus

Leo starts this round by Working himself Up. This gives him a minor boost in his attacking capabilities. Then Fissure slowly starts walking towards Leo because a) his sig b) his SC. Then he Slams his Heavy body against Leonidas. He is knocked over, but rises easily, since Fissure is too heavy to fall on him. Then he slams his hooves into the Earth, causing it to shake and Quake violently, dealing a big amount of damage to Fissure, his sig lessening the damage by a big amount. Fissure staggers, recovering his balance so he can fire off a Flash Cannon, dealing solid damage to Leo.

Condition
Fissure took beyond extreme damage, on the midpoint. He used massive energy, a high way above the midpoint.

Leonidas took beyond extreme damage, a on the midpoint. He used high energy, still ni the first quarter. Has a Atk and Sp. Atk boost.

FW, go!

Not trying to be a 'Geet but...

Tauros is 4' 7" tall.
Bastiodon weighs nearly 400 pounds.

How exactly does a 400 pound Steel dinousaur jump nearly five feet into the air without getting a lot of speed?

but on that same note, Bastiodon's over 100 pounds heavier, how did tauros shake it off so easily?

This shouldn't be an issue in the first place, as Bastiodon shouldn't be on top anyway. But I do agree, Bastiodon wouldn't have been shaken off that easily.

wait, hold up. if all other pokemon can jump to some degree, even those who are even twice as heavy as Bastiodon, why can't it jump at all- even with momentum issues, ect. it still should be able to jump somehow.

It can jump. Just not five feet into the air. The Heavy Slam is basically a glorified Tackle/Double Edge/Iron Head/etc. with a bit of a jump in this situation.

What Kusari said. A 330 lbs Pokemon is not going to be able to jump that high.
