Relicanth Dave's Log of Things

Name: Dave Jones
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Class: Sludgeking (Major: Water - Minor: Poison - Weakness: Psychic)
Appearance: Relatively tall at 6'2", Dave sports dark brown, almost black hair with similarly dark eyes. Sporting a rather solid build, his isn't the typical muscular mass, but more on the 'chunky' side. This, combined with his shaggy mane of hair (reaching halfway down his neck) gives him a somewhat unkempt look, which in turn contributes to his slightly reclusive nature. His normal attire consists of a pair of jeans (or denim shorts should it be warmer), along with a blue or black T-shirt.
Personality: Something of a loner amongst other people, Dave is friendly enough but tries to avoid large groups - particularly hating it if the attention of such a group is focused on him. Knowledgable and ethusiastic in fields that catch his interest, sometimes forgetting his slight shyness when such a subject comes up. He prefers the company of Pokémon to people, though since the Disasters even this has proved to be a challenge. Due to his childhood, her prefers wetland areas, finding them calming due to his affinity with the Water element.
Background: Raised in the marshland of Sinnoh's Pastoria City, the young Dave spent plenty of time playing around the Great Marsh and its surrounding areas. With no siblings to play with, he eventually befriended some local wild Pokémon, in particular a Wooper and Croagunk, who never seemed to mind his bothering them. Dave always dreamed of one day going out on a journey of his own and coming back to take his friends with him, but mere months before his 10th birthday the world was rocked by the Disasters. Not only was his journey put indefinitely on hold, but his befriended Pokémon also seemed to vanish, the creatures seemingly shunning him. With no human friends to fall back on, Dave's teenage years were spent feeling isolated, resulting in his loner attitude. Deciding that there was nothing left for him in Sinnoh, he decided to journey to the recovering Kanto region to try to start afresh.
Starter Group: 3

Pokémon

Eyrie
Species: Rufflet
Level: 10
Nature: Naughty
Ability: Sheer Force
Biography: Originally hatched in a rare colony of Braviary and Mandibuzz that had made their nests in Sinnoh, Eyrie was hatched in the cliffs above Sunnyshore City. Having had a mischievous nature, he spent his first few weeks of life playing tricks on his Rufflet and Vullaby brethren, much to their annoyance. During one such jape, the little eagle tried to land amidst his siblings, only to misjudge his landing, ending up going over the cliff edge. With his flying ability not yet fully developed, he was unable to stop himself in time, soon finding himself in the forest below and unable to get back up. Separated from his family, he took to scavenging around the seaside town, regularly coming into conflict with a resident group of Wingull in doing so.
As Dave was leaving Sinnoh, he had to pass through Sunnyshore in order to catch a ferry to Kanto. While stopping for a pre-trip snack, he found the Rufflet attempting to steal part of his sandwich. Feeling sorry for the little critter, he offered the rest of his food to him, earning the bird's trust. Deciding that he'd need a partner if he was to start a journey, Dave asked the Flying-type would like to come with him, to which he agreed.
Eyrie is still a prankster at heart, and usually makes himself at home atop Dave's head or shoulder.

Keese
Species: Zubat
Level: 9
Nature: Calm
Ability: Inner Focus
Biography: While searching inside Mt. Moon for a lost Clefairy, Dave tripped over a rock and disturbed a nearby Zubat. After placating it with a Berry, the critter went on its way, and Dave thought little more of it. A few moments later, and the trainer and an ally of his became embroiled in a turf war between the Zubat colony and an encroaching flock of Woobat, coming to the aid of the Poison-types. After the Woobat were beaten back, the Zubat Dave had disturbed earlier approached, and showed its gratitude by first helping him find the missing Clefairy, and then guiding the party out of the depths of the caves to the surface.
Once out of the labyrinth, Dave began to say goodbye, but Zubat was having none of it, almost demanding a battle so that he could join the team. Despite putting up a strong fight, he was thwarted by Eyrie's resistance to all of his attacks, and the Rufflet managed to bring home the win, allowing the Bat Pokémon to be captured.
Keese, as he is now known, is more laid-back than Eyrie, though this is belied by his more erratic flight pattern. While he has a slight rivalry with the Rufflet, it's more of a friendly relationship, two loving to fly circles around each other.

Scrat
Species: Shieldon
Level: 7
Nature: Gentle
Ability: Sturdy
Biography: Having caught Keese, Dave was heading back to Cerulean with the found Clefairy (now Clefable) before he was diverted by the cries of a Pokémon in distress. Not far off the path, Dave and his travelling companion found a Shieldon stuck in a trap, its leg caught and badly injured. Transporting it to the nearby Pokémon Centre, the fisherman made sure that its leg was treated properly before he moved on, but to his surprise the creature wanted to come with him. Its leg meant that their progress was slowed, but it was worth it.
After making it back to Cerulean, Shieldon tagged along while Dave tried to reunite the Clefable with her trainer, before having to foil a Pokémon smuggling ring. Once everything settled down, Dave offered Shieldon the chance to come along with him permanently, which he accepted.
Now known as Scrat, he's become a dedicated defensive player, friendly and easygoing, always taking his time and thinking things through before doing anything. He's also happy to be used as a perch by Eyrie and Keese.

Bill

Level: 6

Biography: Teambuilding seems to come naturally to Dave. Merely the day after foiling the smugglers and adding Scrat to his team, he found himself drawn to the docks, partly to look for something to do but also to see if he couldn't get a spot of fishing in. Well, he got both at once. Asked by a foreman to find out what had been sabotaging his shipments, he cast off and soon hooked a -- UNDER CONSTRUCTION
