Sharpedo Pokébowl 2011 - Round 3: Kuno VS. Weebos

Liepard: The Cruel Pokémon.
Height: 3'07"
Weight: 82.7 lbs
Dark-type.
These Pokémon vanish and appear unexpectedly. Many Trainers are drawn to their beautiful form and fur. Stealthily, it sneaks up on its target, striking from behind before its victim has a chance to react.

As Pokébowl marches on, the tournament reaches its third stage. The original 54 entrants have been whittled down to just 16, and in the quest for an overall winner we come to this, a match between two established trainers. Both Kuno and Weebs have both been Leader of the Fighting Gym at one point in their ASB careers, with the former managing to best the latter after comandeering the establishment, but what will the outcome be here? The Pokémon available for rental here are a pair of Level 1 Female Liepard. This... this will probably drag on a bit.

Thanks to the decisions of the Great God, ArEnGee, Kuno will order first in the second round. Anyways, send in the PMs with your nicknames and orders, and we'll get this thing going.

Allons-y

An appropriate pokemon for such a cruel matchup. Good luck Kuno, I'll PM later today when I'm not working.

No problem Kuno - take your time. There's some Pokémon matchups that suck almost as much as this one so I don't think we're going to be short for time.

Round 1: I always knew cats were venomous bastards

Right then. Pokébowl. Each side has the same Pokémon, resulting in mirror matches that may be obsenely fast to resolve or painfully slow. I suspect this match may contain the latter. Let's see what Weebs and Kuno have decided to do in this opening round, as the two lithe Dark-types materialse in the forest...

This matchup is going to suck.
Predicting the obvious Toxic or attempt at stopping my Toxic, let's got with Fakeout to Toxic.

Dark-types can see in the dark. They prefer to fight at night, however light does not adversely affect them.
Deciding to use her fairly limited arsenal of self-effective moves early, Meow Mix focuses Fighting spirit into one of her paws, preparing a Rock Smash. Schrödy, however, doesn't like the sounds of this, and with a spring and a cry of 'NOT SO FAST!' she claps her paws either side of her double's face, managing to Fake her Out and the glow from her paw to fade. As Meow Mix winces slightly, Schrödy capitalises with a spray of Toxic gunk, which splatters over her fellow feline's pristine fur. Hissing from having her coat mucked up, Meow Mix hawks up her own Toxic, which lands on Schrödy for similar results. Well, this matchup sucks enough to warrant it I suppose.

With the first round over, only Meow Mix has taken damage, though it's only a light amount. Energy use was similar, Schrödy with a light lead there too, neither using too much. Poison is below half, and both have Toxic seeping in which will take effect next round. The two are in meleé range.

As decided by the RNG, Kuno orders first.

Sucker Punch that Rock Smash, then give a good Rock Smash of your own.

Round 2: A Smashing time

Well, it's because Meow Mix wasted the energy for Rock Smash due to flinching. While you only 'used' one attack you lost a bit more energy.

Subscribing to the time-honoured tradition of 'If at first you don't suceed, try and typespam again', Meow Mix channels more Fighting energy into one of her paws. As she draws back to prepare a Rock Smash, she finds herself distracted by a sparkly paw held aloft by Schrödy. Stopping to admire the prettiness of the limb, she's quickly brought back to her senses as her double Sucker Punches her in the flank, breaking her concentration and causing yet more precious energy to go to waste. Meow Mix backs up, hissing from the underhandedness of the attack, giving her more of a drive to attack as she lashes out with her claws, Cutting across Schrödy's body for a nasty hit, though she misses any critical areas. Schrödy returns the favour by showing how typespam is really done, a Rock Smash of her own landing on her foe for considerable damage, though not too much considering the soft nature of these Pokémon. Both felines then shudder, the Toxins beginning their work.

Overall, Meow Mix came off worse there, already a minor way closer to half health than perfect. Energy use ws fine though, having grabbed a lead, but her Fighting reserves hang at the half mark. Schrödy took significant damage, holding a solid lead in the health stakes. Her energy use was severe, now under her double.

Weebs.

Right but I never like.. released the attack? So to speak. It's not like it's a shadowball dangling in front of me. I mean in this round I tried to attack and that's fine, but if an attack isn't done charging then like, don't I still have the energy? This seems kind of weird.

As far as I know the energy use thing is fairly common, I've had a bunch of refs do it, but I'm your opponent here so take me with a grain of salt.

ON TO BATTLE.

I was always told that if something's disrupted mid-charge then it still counts, but fair point. Basically the energy was focused into her paw and then she broke concentration so it dissipated out. I'll give you a bit back.

Welp I'm already behind, so time to throw my hat in with lady luck.

Double Team, If her first attack hits, use a Sucker Punch, if not Hone Claws.

Round 3: In which Weebs' luck shifts

Feeling confident in her performance in battle so far, Schrödy leaps forward to Return the favour, only to find herself facing a pride of Liepard. Meow Mix has rung the dinner bell, summoning her Double Team posse to back her up, this match now a four to one deal. Schrödy lunges at the leftmost one with her attack, but the feline just vanishes, having just been a clone. Schrödy tries again, surrounding herself with Flying energy as she charges down the clone in the middle of the now-trio, darting to the side at the last minute to prove just what an Aerial Ace she is... only to hit a second clone. Turning, she observes both of the remaining Meow Mix clones Honeng their Claws, preparing for future Slash abuse, most likely. All three then grit their teeth, the poison dealing another hit.

Only light Toxic damage to both sides this round, leaving the gap as was last round. Meow Mix managed to grab an energy lead though, cleverly wasting Schrödy's reserves to give her a heavy advantage, Schrödy hanging a decent way above half. Schrödy's starting to look tired and could use a breather, while Meow Mix has one remaining clone along with a Hone Claws boost.

Kuno.

Slash x2. Hopefully your boost will help you aim for the eyes. If you lose your last double team, replace the second slash with a Rock Smash.
