With regard to the rest, the only thing I can really comment on is Mach Punch/Vacuum Wave, where Mach Punch is sort of a 'Fighting-type Quick Attack', where the user darts toward the foe with a punch at insande speed. Vacuum Wave's pretty fine as is, imo.

Any bullet punch should be what is essentially a steel quick attack.

Snatch could use a re-write to stop it being nonsensical.

Still don't see what's nonsensical about it. You get the boost, they don't.

Metal Burst (ST) -- The user coats their body in steel energy which gathers the impact of the next physical blow to hit them and converts it into steel energy, which it amplifies with the steel energy in its body, sending the energy back into the target in a bright burst that deals x1.5 the damage of the attack absorbed. The base percentage of this move working is 65%. The chance of the attack succeeding also depends on level and power, with a Giga Impact from a higher level Snorlax having a significantly lowered chance of succeeding, while a level 1 Weedle's Headbutt should almost always be able to be burst back. The user of Metal Burst still takes the full effect of the move it attempts to absorb in every case, and energy usage is proportional to the attack absorbed.

See here.

For some reason the old thread has become un-stickyfied.

Jeri, new hyper beam says full charge does both major and extreme damage which are the 12th and 15th increments. Assuming it's supposed to be extreme, as fire blast is major now. Last sentence is wrong, and as people use a scale based on hyper beams I've seen stuff like flamethrower being reffed at 0.75. This could use fixing!

I really don't want to rewrite everything so absolutely everything is totally consistent.

Don't be stupid. Extreme is the damage it does and extreme is the top of the scale.

It was less "change everything" and more "change one word because a move is listed as doing the wrong amount of damage". Hyper beam is now extreme, but the move descript still says major in the last sentence.

New!Stone Edge and New!Rock Blast form from Rock energy. Does this mean they're treated like Water attacks (Boosted by Nasty Plot et al/deal physical damage)?

Just thinkin'.

No.

As it stands, anyways, I'm probably going to rewrite them to need a source of rocks anyways because Rock attacks seem to be pretty well balanced by that. This way, you can still use them in locations with impenetrable ground but not everywhere.

>It was less "change everything" and more "change one word because a move is listed as doing the wrong amount of damage". Hyper beam is now extreme, but the move descript still says major in the last sentence.

That's fine and I will, but my point still stands.

EDIT: EMERGENCY REWRITE:

Hyper Beam (NO) -- The user fires a powerful orange beam of energy, capable of causing extreme damage or destruction. It takes a large amount of energy, and leaves the user very drained for a period immediately afterwards. The user may try to attack during this time, but success is less likely. An alternate to this is more of a "quick-charge" Hyper Beam, which deals damage akin to 1/2 Ice Beam, but uses less energy and no recharge time. In reality, this attack can run the gamut from minimal charge, which would do quick, but only decent damage, to the fully charged version, which deals extreme damage.

The one that looks closer to the base power is almost always the one that you should go off.

Don't know if this has been brought up, but should Rock Climb be rewritten to conform with what it looks like in the anime? I'm talking about when Torterra uses it by smashing the ground, summoning a large mountain-like rock beneath the opponent and climbing at speed.
At the moment, it's nothing really like that:

We're really not that comfortable with that interpretation, because, frankly, it's kinda silly. Our version works fine.

No sillier than Earthquake/Rock Tomb/Earth Power.

The Anime's way is basically the current way, but with the user creating a high point if no current ones exist.

No it isn't. It creates a hill UNDER the opponent, which the user then charges up (somehow) gaining speed/power as it does so.

Oh, yeah, missed the part in the current description about 'Jumping off' the precipice. Mostly because I've never seen it used like that. Every time someone uses it, it's always 'Rock Climb to climb up the ___ and attack'.

Meaning a lot of people are reffing it wrong. Oops.

Kin, did you know that Dive and/or Dig don't have to ATTACK as such? Did you also know that moves do not need to be completed when you could quite feasibly do half of it?

This is why you do not ref for me.

Kin forgets a lot.
This is fact.
This is a problem.
That will likely never be fixed.

Still, don't see how it's any sillier than Rock Tomb.

Rock Tomb is summoning rocks from underground.

Anime!Rock Climb is ALTERING THE WHOLE MOTHERFUCKING TERRAIN OF THE ARENA.

Slight difference there. And don't say it's EQ/Bulldoze - those are just shockwaves of energy, not causing upheaval you usually get from continental drift.

Rock Tomb is summoning rocks from underground.

Anime!Rock Climb is creating a raised path of earth from the ground.

You know how rocks can be summoned from underground?

Hint: mining.

You know how mountains are formed?

Hint: plates.
