Whenever a Lanturn uses an electric attack in the water, it creates a small amount of electricity around it, shocking anything in the water with it within 10 feet of it (damage is considered equal to a Thundershock for the most powerful electric attacks). As an electric type, it is immune to recoil from using electric attacks in the water or during a Rain Dance. It may also use its antennas as a light source in the same way that the Mareep family does with their tails.
Bio: Pearl is a young and inexperienced 'mon. She has somewhat of a crush on Geno, my Electabuzz, and is a lifelong fan of Nikola Tesla, a scientist well famed for his early work on commercial electricity, and possibly more so for rumours of his "death ray". When Geno was still an Elekid, she trained a lot with him to learn to master her electrical moves. Since he evolved, he's been less inclined to train with her, but she's kept on training her electric arsenal.
Signature Move: Tesla Coil (Electric)
In this move, Pearl coils her antennae around each other and begins charging her electrical energy. The effect is the same as the Elekid species characteristic; to quote, Pearl "may take one turn to recharge half of its electrical energy. This can only be used once per match, and it must take a turn to recharging, in which no other moves may be ordered." Basically this gives Lanturn the same species characteristic of an Elekid.

Releasing her in the sea, obviously. Not too far from the shore.

Charge beam, water pulse.

Porosus: Male Croconaw
Croconaw: (Water) Croconaw is the middling of speed and agility in the Totodile family. As an alligator Pokémon, the Totodile family has the strongest bite attack of any Pokémon relative to their size. However, their jaw muscles are meant for clamping down, not opening up: most Pokémon can easily keep them shut with their own hands. In wet arenas, the airholes on their snouts allow them to stay almost completely submerged while being able to see above the surface. Water Pokémon are able to hold their breath under water. The time varies, from about half an hour to one hour for reptilians and mammals, and indefinitely for fish and squid like Pokémon. They are also, generally, good swimmers.
A rare find, caught while on an expedition into the Great Marsh, Porosus is cheeky, usually trying to steal food, while also having a comedic persona, as well as strong attacks. Since evolving, he's tried to be more serious, though this is often scuppered by other members of the squad. He also steals a lot more food.

Special Training - Dragon Spirit:
While taking a break from traveling and battling, Porosus became good friends with another trainer's Bagon. The spent so much time together, that they managed to teach each other how to use basic attacks of their element. As a result of some more extensive training, with me, Porosus was able to become more familiar with Dragon-type attacks. As a result, Porosus can now utilize the moves Dragonbreath and Dragon Rage, while losing the moves Rage, Bite, Fling, Shadow Claw and Whirlpool.

To be released onto the... beach. Why not.

Porosus, let's do this. Roar to intimidate and startle, then Dragon rage!

And so the match gets underway, as Porosus appears on the beach, and Pearl appears in the ocean. Once again I find myself reffing a match with the potential for rather onesided typespam.

The match begins as Pearl begins to overload herself with electricity, however as she prepares to release the excess Charge, Porosus lets out a big Roar, startling her enough that the beam is fired wildly off target, dealing no damage, but she does gain a boost to her Special attacks.

Porosus uses Dragon Rage, whipping up a cyclone of water that smashes into Pearl for very good damage, as she gets tossed around a bit before landing safely back in the water, firing off a Water Pulse, which, given her opponent's typing deals very bad damage.

Both Pokémon start getting VERY LOUD, as Pearl makes a Supersonic, while Porusus Screeches wildly, the two sounds canceling each other out.

Pearl then proceeds to use a Thunderbolt, but Porosus counters with Mud Sport, spewing the stuff forth into the path of the surge of electricity, stopping it in his tracks.

Nobody took damage, energy usage wasn't too huge, Porosus can probably manage another Mud Sport, but a somewhat smaller one.

PS: Editing while I'm reffing is bad and you should feel bad.

Discharge spread enough to wipe out the clones. Supersonic.

Porosus uses Double Team, and now there are four Croconaw. Then Pearl uses Discharge, and there is only one again. However the electricity was spread out so widely that it was only able to inflict small amount of damage.

Porosus then fires off a Hidden Power, doing some nice damage before yet another Supersonic from Pearl makes him Confused. Probably not Permanantly.

Both Pokémon are burning through their energy far more quickly than they're eliminating each other's health, leaving them both with under three quarters of their reserves left, with Porosus worse off.

Standing there herping his derp, Porosus has a sound enough mind to realise that this ominous ball of electricity slowly moving towards him is something he would do well to avoid. So covering his body with Aqua, he makes a rough approximation of where would be a good place to not get hit and Jets forward...

..skirting around the side of the orb, but not far away enough to prevent paralasis locking up his body, as he flops face first into the sand, the confusion wearing off and allowing him to realise his failure.

Pearl used loads of energy, Porosus somewhat less, leaving them both roughly equal just above half.

Porosus tries to use an Agility, but it doesn't really work like he was hoping and he ends up taking a Thunderbolt, which knocks out the rest of his paralasis and also deals the first major damage of the match.

Pearl's attack brought her opponent below three quarters health, but also brought herself just below the halfway point of he energy reserves.

Tesla coil. Because it can't really do much to you. Thunderbolt if it's not an option for some reason.

If she Coils, then get out there and use your Strength to throw her onto the beach. If she TBolts, then just dodge, Aqua Jet if required, then Crunch her.

Pearl swings her lure around, wrapping her balls up in a Tesla Coil, as she restores All her lost energy a Zap Cannon of energy. However this leaves her a sitting duck as Porosus dives into the water, and with a bit of effort manages to use his Strength to lug the fish onto the beach, a foot or two away from the waterline.

Cover her in another Mud Sport. Then Mega Kick her further away from the water.

Pearl attempts a Bounce, but she doesn't exactly have a solid surface to push off from, and her fin strength isn't much to begin with, so she only manages to propel herself slightly into the air, shaking off some of the Mud Sport that Porosus is currently vomiting over her.

That leaves her still vulnerable to Porosus' Mega Kick, sending her flying through the air further inland as the rest of the mud is shaken off. However she swiftly gets her revenge, dealing out a Thunderbolt.

Pearl took quite a lot of damage, but she's still much better off than Porosus, who's now got less than a third of his health remaining.

Pearl tries to use yet another Thunderbolt, but Porosus evades it with ludicrous speed, courtesy of Agility. He then goes on to Spite his opponent, burning away a large amount of her remaining energy, but at the cost of a great deal of his own.

Once again we have nobody dealing any damage yet consuming vast amounts of energy. Porosus is now just below a quarter, Pearl just above.
