I thought people followed the rules, but instead we have some fucked up system where refs do whatever they want.

Yeah this is not new. It's been that ways since when I started at the least. Dream Eater doesn't affect Ghosts, but always check your ref refs it like that.

Meant more along the lines of people ignoring certain aspects of attack descriptions and stuff because they think it's wrong.

Several aspects of the attack descriptions are wrong. This is the fault of people not updating the attack descriptions, not refs.

That's mostly just random syntax crap. I can't find any comments, but I've definitely seen some people state that they blatantly ignore parts of descriptions because "Muyo/Jeri/Mozz was on crack when he wrote it," which is fine, but the changes should be mostly agreed upon before any one person starts reffing it in a different manner. At least in my opinion.

I don't remember saying you were a "fucking terrible ref" In fact I even nominated you as one of the best refs in the league for the LO thread! :O

Also TDos refs end up doing what most people in the league think is correct. So

Metang used Explosion, failing to faint everything but itself.

At least TDos is of the agreement that discretion needs to be reined in some.

Honestly, if you follow the descriptions and someone gets mad, you have more grounds than they do.

If you're able to justify your reffing, it's fine.

Are Rotom formes considered Ghost familiar?

Also, can any fifth gen ghosts barring Yamask's body and Cofagrigus's arms go ethereal? I'm wondering Frillish specifically, because it seems... not quite solid, like Missy.

Yes.

Eh. Maybe.

That makes me realize that I haven't actually ever officially defined Ghost rules for Gen V ghosts.

I'll do that now.

Yamask: Yamask is able to go entirely solid, ethereal and invisible, though its mask (being a solid object) cannot. Yamask's mask is not truly part of it; however, if it is holding it, it can still take reduced damage if the mask is hit.

Cofagrigus: Cofagrigus's body is considered to be completely solid and cannot change form. Its hands, however, are made of a ghostly substance and are almost always ethereal. They can go solid in order to manipulate objects or attack, if needed. Its hands are bound to its body much like Spiritomb is to its keystone, but their length and rather jagged features allow them to stretch much farther - up to 10 feet away - without being pulled back.

Frillish: Frillish's body is composed of a rubbery substance made mostly of water. As a result, its body possesses strangely ghost-like properties. While it cannot go properly ethereal or invisible, it can manipulate its membranous tissue to mimic the effect somewhat. Going invisible will significantly reduce the pigmentation in their skin for a short time, making them appear transparent for a short time but still potentially visible in enough light. Going into ethereal will cause some physical attacks to faze through their porous skin, though they will still take about 85% of the damage.

Jellicent: Jellicent's body is composed of a rubbery substance made mostly of water.

Litwick: Litwick's body is entirely solid. The only thing that is not is its flame, which is actually a ghostly fire, with properties similar to a normal Ghost. However, due to the intense heat given off by it, it functions more closely to a normal open flame. However, Litwick is able to "extinguish" the light coming from it.

Lampent: Lampent's body is mostly solid, save for the ghostly flame in the center. Lampent is able to turn ethereal for short periods of time, but it is unable to control the state of its flame, meaning that attacks that phase through Lampent's body still will hit its exposed flame. Lampent can also go invisible, but its flame will always reveal its position, even if the light from it is "extinguished".

Chandelure: Chandelure's body is mostly solid, save for the ghostly flame in the center. Chandelure is able to turn ethereal for short periods of time, but it is unable to control the state of its flame, meaning that attacks that phase through Chandelure's body still will hit its exposed flame. Chandelure can also go invisible, but its flame will always reveal its position, even if the light from it is "extinguished".

Gollet: Golett is permanently solid.

Golurk: Golurk is permanently solid.

y/n?

I like, except for the copypasta mistake in Chandelure.

I think it just needs some confirmation on the state of Litwick's melted wax(?) body, since I believe it was queried once before.

1) Yamask is stated here to take damage as normal on hits to its mask, but in its SC says it can use it for defense. Is the damage from physical attacks reduced, unchanged, what?

2) Re: Frillish/Jellicent, it says ethereal will reduce damage from special attacks, but normally, ethereal should increase the damage done by special attacks. So it's just a tad confusing in that respect.

They look good, just maybe a little clarification. Also, now tempting to get a Frillish again now.

Made a few edits.

And Shadow, that was dealt with in the SCs.
