Would also be a first for those types of Pokemon to have an evo. As in Rattata/Pidgey/Sentret/etc - the early 'mon after the starters.

Because their Kecleon and Spinda evos/Prevos are even more lackluster.

Personally, I'm looking forward to our uber-tier Kricketune evolution.

._. you hurt my spleen...
Of course it wouldn't turn green till all that Ooze, errr....leaf stone?, evolved into a lean, mean fighting machine!
DUUUUH!

Sadly I'd agree it looks like a Lucario evo, someone who definitely does not need an evolution.
But then again, I'm hoping it's not a Mightyena...maybe an evolved Sableye would be good...an interesting Poke that had no evo to start with.
*heres hoping they make an Evolution to Pikachi/Raichu that doesn't suck*
It'll be called Pikablu ^_~

Torkoal should get an Electric/Fire evolution that's 12 feet long and has an entire coal fired power plant on its shell. I want to also give it Levitate, but I can't really justify that.

Does this mean they both evolved from a crappier ancestor, aka Rattata? That would explain the suckage of the lineage...

Zora, I love the Torkoal changes....only...it needs to have a new ability that makes it Critical Hit on it's hatred enemy...Solrock!
Solrock thrives on providing us renewal energy while Torkoal needs more coal!!!

It's real, check Serebii... I like Zorua but it's not the kind of Pokemon I'd use, Zoroark is a Lucario clone so I wouldn't use him at all

Wonder what type it'll be? Fire/Dark?
I still want a pure fire Pokemon who doesn't suck/below average. I'm looking at you again,Torkoal!!

Is anyone else hoping they will not release another evolution to Porygon?

They probably won't make a porygon evo, seeing as it has three stages already.

For those saying it's a Lucario clone: Not really. Ever seen lucario on four legs? I didn't think so. Besides, this hails to Japan's stories of miscevious foxes: If it's related to Lucario in any way, it's only 'cause it has a similar body shape and directly contrasts him (Lucario controls 'Aura', also known as 'Life Force', and this guy appears to lean more toward teh ebils, if the classifications are anything to go by - and they usually are).

For the records, I shook Eevee248 to death and back again after I saw it. It's really CUTE!
Anyway, It's interesting that for once a season's mascot embodies evilness... In any case, it's a Dark-type (Probably) mascot. Yay.
I don't think there's really any evidence to say it's fire. What, you think it will be fire just because it has red? News-flash: So do Plusle and Volbeat. Black and red are the first colors one thinks of when one thinks of evil, correct?

Wait... this is most likely the guy that copies Ash, right? Evil Fox and Monster Fox... Think of Ash's poor reputation! (Not that I care about him really... Rape!)

Lapras

SPP's updated to say it's Dark, just so y'all know. :>

Which I'm kind of glad for, as much as I want more Fire types. Another trickster Fire fox thing seems... kind of unnecessary?

Also every new 'mon will be a something-clone in the eyes of somebody. And/or a Digimon. This has been the case since (at least) Hoenn, why would the fans stop now?

The Pokemon are looking less and less... animal and more and more... anime.

Next we will be having Pokemon with big spikey hair wielding oversized swords and being super angsty because Aeris died.

Wasn't Lucario already angsty because his master was dead?

I dunno, I only watched that movie once, which is one time too many.

I was going to say they look they there are trying to be human. Will this one be able to speak in English as well?

Next you know, Brian from Family Guy will make an appearance as an off-shoot of Snubull!

I guess I should be saying that I'm glad it's a dark type? I don't think there has been a really good, pure Dark type since Umbreon back in the days of Gold/Silver?

Hopefully this generation they make more pure types, which I think got lost in the 'let's dual type everyone!' of previous generations.

Yes. We haven't seen very many pure types in a while.
Oh, and, I'm momentarily going to shift from pokemon speculation to move speculation. I WANT MORE DARK PHYSICAL ATTACKS. WITH HIGH POWER. AND A DARK ATTACK WITH 120 POWER. WTH, LET'S GO WITH A PSYCHIC ONE OF THOSE TOO. OH, DO I STILL HAVE CAPS LOCK ON? Oops.
But, the moves I'm looking forwards to the most are the ones with very unique effects. Like how Grass Knot and Low Kick deal damage depending on weight, or Toxic Spikes, which poisons with varying intensities depending on layers, or Stealth Rock, which is an entry hazard that deals SE and NV damage, or Wish, which waits a turn before healing half your health (Helpful for prolonged battles. Wish-Attack-Wish-Attack-Wish...), or Memento, which sacrifices yourself to obliterate your foe's stats, or Belly Drum, or...
You get the idea, no? Yes, more of those kinds of moves in pretty much inevitable, and I can't wait. BRING ON NUMBA' FIVE!

Stealth Rock needs to be removed from the game.

Not really. What we DO need is pokemon with an ability to destroy entry hazards upon entry, or a entry hazard remover stronger than rapid spin.

Personally, I don't worry about entry hazards, but I said that to calm the people (Like ZJ) who do.
Of course, when battling I rarely switch, which is probably why. Myself, I'm actually hoping for more. I mean, If I can come up with some good ones (Flytrap: Grass-type Entry Hazard that works the opposite of Stealth Rock, Landmine: Deals more damage the heaver the switcher, Typhoon: Lowers speed of switcher- the lighter they are, the more the speed is lowered, Frozen Spikes: Greater chance of freezing switcher based similarly to SR, as well as quite a few more), I'm pretty confident GF will come up with some great ones. When people complain about SR... well, usually I just sigh at their weakness, especially as I've had at least one pokemon weak to Rock in every single one of my teams, in fact, in one I have three.

Just to speak on behalf of those that do think about Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin does not need extra power. If Rapid Spin needs anything added, it needs a type-change to something that Ghosts can't block. Then Magnezone can see more play and stop being quite as outclassed as Rotom as a Scizor counter. Either that or Swords Dance Scizors will just start dropping Bug Bite for Night Slash. I'm seriously wondering why Smogon hasn't dropped Magnezone down to UU, and yet Rhyperior, Alakazam and Cress are all there now.

As for hopeful additions to Gen 5, some Pokemon that don't have the distinct stench of Gen 4 about them would be nice. Zoroark, while it looks better than the leaked Pokemon for previous generations, just reminds me of Gen 4 a little more than I was hoping it would.

People still use 'zone as a Skarmory killer, in addition to the Scizor stopping angle.

I really hope we don't get more entry traps. As we've proved, they're major game changers and I'm not sure the competitive side will like something that big along with it. At least I wouldn't.
