Boost fades?

Do boosts fade? If so, about how long would a weak boost take to fade completely? And does a boost fade quicker if it's stronger?

According to Muyo, you really should make boosts fade. How they fade and how long it takes for them to fade currently varies from ref to ref, but they shouldn't just suddenly disappear; if anything, they should reduce after a couple rounds before going away.

Personally, I don't do fades (it's easier to keep track of that way), but I probably should.

When I ref I do tend to use fades, or more specifically, a strong short term boost (1-2) rounds and from then on a smaller boost until the Pokemon is withdrawn. I think it's really down to the discretion of a ref as long as they're not doing anything ludicrous.

Shouldn't a stronger boost last longer than a smaller one?

I was talking about the same boost there- so the first turn or so it's a big boost, then it becomes a longer term small boost.

I do 5 turns for most boosts. But it depends. Stuff like long term Agility and Harden don't really fade for me. Why? I ref Agility as a lot of energy (more the other boosts), and Harden just works that way. It is a short term very high defense boost, then it just becomes (after a turn) a normal defense boost. They probably will fade if the match takes really long, but a lot can happen in 5 turns so.. I try to limit most stuff at their.

Also I do Psych Up to copy the turns remaining. So if your opponent has 2 turns of Sword Dance left then that's what you copy. D:
