Beginner Trainer Battle: Arc vs. Panda
As the dazzling moon climbs to its summit in the starlit sky, a well-worn carnival melody jingles throughout the humming backdrop. Bustling with bright lights and ecstasy, the newly fashioned funfair homed to Fizzytopia welcomes thousands of tourists to its pinnacle of excellence. Although renowned for a myriad of epilepsy lawsuits, the new fairground is busier than ever. The lively carousels twist and bob as the youngsters rapturously cheer for their synthetic Ponyta, The rollercoaster’s accelerate up their tightly knit tracks as their teenage inhabitants keel over in wooziness. Yes, the carnival attracted a universal audience, and although the rides and games are tempting, the visitors find nothing more thrilling than a heated Pokémon Battle. Thus, after every few hours or so, a stockpile of eager spectators take time out of there schedule to witness these impressive events.
Arc vs. PandaDazzled by the nostalgic vista, the two trainers cannot help but tilt their heads in awe as various neon-lit rollercoaster’s whizz overhead at an impressive velocity. The many carnies standing in their assorted coconut shies occasionally holler at the twosome, showcasing games of skill, strength, and luck. Nonetheless, these propositions are promptly ignore as a vivacious crusade was soon to commence. Ambling through the hoard of scrambling youths, pin-stripe carnies and twisting queues, you stumble across a flashing and rather tattered battlefield already attracting a backlog of spectators. The interior of the clay-ridden field was tightly enclosed, each wall coated with a transparent plastic and rimmed with flashing bulbs flickering energetically. As the two trainers keenly strut to their respected quarters, a man sporting a black and white shirt and a silvery whistle leans patiently against the thick synthetic barriers. His face was much paler than usual, perhaps he should have avoided the unappetizing hotdogs before a trip to the Rollerquaza. Nonetheless, the referee steps wayward before mauling a glossy Magikarp-coin, “Arc, Heads; Panda, Tails.” Tossing the coin high in the air, he quickly grabs it to reveal the verdict. “Tails!” The order of this battle will go as follows: - Both of you will PM your Pokemon's stats, healing items, and first round moves to me. - I will ref the first round. - Treepandaone will then order their attacks for the next round. - Arc Angel orders their attacks for the next round. - I ref the round, attack order reverses, rinse and repeat! |

Round One: Don't go Wasting your Emotions, Lay all your Love on me

“And in the blue corner is newcomer Matthew and his Shinx!” He added, shuffling the streamer into his other hand and extending it to the boy’s side of the battlefield. The swarm continue to cheer and scream, the trainer grinning slightly before fingering a plain Poke Ball of his own. Lifting the sphere to his face, Matthew pumps one arm into the air, hopping onto one foot before stylishly pitching the ball frontward. It ricochets off of the pitch itself, cracking open with a plain flood of light as a small lion cub pounced from its core releasing a piercing howl. Lexi then paws at the floor inquisitively, shying away from the spotlights looming above and instead rubbing against her trainer’s legs with an affectionate purr. Time to kick it old school, and like all battles in the dirt track arena, both trainers are fast to send their orders. Quick on her feet, the small shinx bounces forward before crackling up and down with yellow sparks, twitching as she bursts with a white Flash far brighter than the twinkling bulbs and beaming spotlights. Eve squints in panic, blinking repeatedly as she ditzily wriggles rearward whilst trying to stand upright. Like a heavy drinker the tipsy hut-creature falls on her bottom in daze, however she rests her beady eyes and begins to enter bottomless thought. Stuck in a meditative state, the Snorunt’s Mind begins to Calm giving her an ample boost in special offense and defence. Shinx then decides to take the physical route of Eve’s technique, switching into various cat stretches as her limbs build and Bulk Up. The feline meows cheerfully at her new lioness physique, eying up the strange foe that’d suddenly waddled back to its feet. The Icy Pokémon then drops its triangle-shaped maw and spurts a fine stream of water, although the hose takes a while to settle on Lexi with the Snorunt’s bad eyesight it still manages to soak her. Lexi whimpers as any wet cat would, her bushy fur now flat and wet giving her the appearance of a drowned rat >>; Shivering and still, the lion cub is at a loss for movement as Eve follows up with a tundra of sparkling blue Wind which wafts from her mouth and envelops Lexi. More cat abuse! The poor Shinx’ wet coat made for a perfect boost to the Ice attack, giving the frostbit Lexi a icy blue fleece and a decent speed drop. However her muscular build proves for perfect retribution as her star-pointed tail glazes in a silvery hue and the bits of frost shatter off of it. She slowly limps forward, socking the Snorunt with an Iron Tail for a decent hit. Eve  Health 85% Energy 86% Status Calm Minded. Vision slightly impaired. Lexi  Health 82% Energy 89% Status Bulked up. Somewhat sluggish. |

Watching his cat get turned into a rat, Matthew wondered what the cat would smell of, having only smelt wet dog and disliking it. Pondering over the prospect of buying some more air freshner for the base, Matthew came up with a plan.
"Lets turn that Snorunt into something even you wouldn't eat. Sludge Bomb then Roar to knock it out of its concentration. Finish with a long ranged Pay Day. |

Eve was blinking and rubbing her eyes trying to rid the spots that were flashing there yet the Shinx opposite her was much more of a sorry site; Looking like a miserable drowned kitty. Stacey called to Eve, the little Snorunt turning to face her trainer at the sound.
"Don't worry Eve, the spots will go. You're doing very well." she encouraged and the small hat Pokemon managed a beaming smile. "Okay that nasty Shinx is going to try and hit you from far away so lets reduce its chances. Double Team so hopefully the Sludge Bomb will miss then quickly move all your selves into a Rollout. When the kitty roars you'll be able to pinpoint her location and go in for a strike and keep striking. If your momentum stops then uncurl and Powder Snow its still wet body. |

Round Two: Roll on, Pokémon!
With the male trainer first to command, his soggy cub shivers off some of the frost before teetering forward to attack. However it appears Lexi’s movements are far too delayed to faze the hut-like adversary who blinks weakly before splitting into three. In a split second Eve suddenly blurs into Double the trouble! Then a third clone joins the Team creating a set of finely tuned decoys. The baby lioness grimaces, her cheeks blushing with a purple aura as she hocks up a nasty bat of Sludge. The volatile goo flings into the air, splitting into a lavender shower as it dipped back down. Whilst the clones took most of the blow, the widespread attack manages to counter the evasive technique as the Bombardment of solid missiles explode all about Eve’s section of the dirt track. The snow critter brushes off what little scuff of damage it took, hopping upward and bowing into a Rollout! The blurry sphere of yellow and orange, whizzes slowly about its half of the stage as it builds momentum. Eve makes her move, only to be met with the Shinx growling crossly at the spinning ball causing her to recoil back to its side in panic. Whilst the Roar had fended her off for the meantime, it isn’t long until she spins back forward – squashing the poor cat for a fair bit of damage. Lexi yelps as she jumps back a safe distance, her star-shaped tail glittering beautifully. She then flicks the wiry tail left and right, its yellow tip releasing a flurry of golden coins which splash against the gyrating Snorunt. Eve hoots in pain slightly but still remains in a pinball position. Several coins then spurt against the mucky floor for later use – the crowd bursting with applause!

Eve and Lexi appeared to be very evenly matched and as attacks were launched it was still hard to tell who would win this battle. Eve had produced several copies of herself only to still take a shot of sludge, fortunately the damage was reduced. Shaking off the goop she spun into a ball, well as much as she could and thwacked Lexi hard reeling at the kitty fired back with shiny coins. Eve sat curled ready to move into whatever action her mummy asked of her.
"Keep it up Eve. You've lost momentum with that strike so roll towards Lexi then leap out of your ball and Leer her. Follow up with a taste of your Brain Freeze and finish with Hidden Power (Grass)." |

My apologies, I totally forgot about this.
Skull Bash to get your face down for the leer to block it, then Skull Bash after the brain freeze to add residual damage. Finish with a Full charge Focus Punch after the hidden power. Last edited by Treepandaone; 09-17-2009 at 04:56 AM. |

Round Three: Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it Snorunt!
Eve dashes forward waywardly, still caught in mid-spin as she leaps through the air like a stripy yellow marble. Upping her head to break the spin, she stretches her stubby black limbs before staring the cub dead on. The beady pupils flash in an instant, causing Lexi’s hairs to stand on end as she switches to a frozen state. The Leer proves effective at warding off the oncoming head butt, allowing Eve to cackle playfully before scuttling forward for a follow up attack. A mouth shadowed by her hut-like exterior drops agape, crystaly blue waves pulsing forward elegantly. Bobbing en route to the paralysed Shinx cub, the timely Brain Freeze washes over her sleek body. Seeping through the feline’s pores, the icy dust would no doubt cause some trouble in a later round... Not this round though! Lexi’s legs finally spring back to motion, giving her the needed push to lope forward with her Skull capped with a white energy. The cat Bashes into the snow cone for major damage, Eve wallowing in pain as she grinds rearward against the rough clay. Rigerously shaking her head, she hops to her feet with her eyes aglow once more. This time they flicker a lime colour, several rays of grassy Power spurting from within. The Hidden Energy knocks Shinx back a few paces for another decent blow, although with her claws bare it looked as though the cat had still had some punch left in her. Finishing the heated scrap, Shinx bides a bit of time as her hand begins to charge with Fighting energy. She dives forward yet again, swooping as she reaches Eve’s spot and stretching her mitt for a Focused Punch. @*&*%ÂŁ*” What a blow! The tip of Eve’s cone crumples at the top as she shrieks in agony. Nonetheless, reserves for this foreign element are scarce, taking its toll on the potential power of the punch but still striking a decent blow at the cost of a lump some of energy.

Stacey gasped as she saw Eve take a vicious blow to the head throwing her on her behind causing tears of pain to trickle down her face. There was a large nasty bruise forming on her head as well a small dent. Eve sat on the ground unable to reach the pinful spot with her small hands as she cried. Stacey wanted nothing more to grab her in a hug and kick that Shinx into the nearest Rollercoaster, no-one hurt her baby like that! But there was a battle still to finish and Eve could still get some amount of revenge.
"Eve, honey I know it hurts and I'm saving a special kiss for it later but right now you must fight back or the nasty kitty will come and hurt you again." Eve got back to her feet her lip trembling as she stared down the kitty with hurt and a hint of anger in her eyes. "At a girl, now lets unleash our own form of pain. Don't be fazed by the Leer, instead show her your true ice power and Ice Beam its furry arse. Then set up an Ice Barrier to protect against the Iron Tails and finally grab Shinx with your Psychic and slam her into the hardest object you can find. |

Round Four: Cats always land on their feet!
The game quickly swings back into momentum as Shinx pounces forward, the cub who’d be eventually known as the gleam eyes Pokémon cleverly making use of a Leer to stop the opposing Snorunt dead in its tracks. The ice cretin wallows in twinge as her legs momentarily lock up from head to toe, giving Lexi a decent footing to run forward and swoop with her Iron Tail! The wiry tail swipes clean across Eve’s head causing her to roll back helplessly. The brief interval of leer soon wears off; Snorunt upping back to her feet and channelling a small Icy blue sphere inches from her open mouth. The sphere takes little time to discharge a cyan bolt-Beam which waywardly strikes forward before grappling the small lioness. The attack takes substantial damage, chilling the feline to the bone although she doesn’t come off with a freeze status. Lexi weakly jumps back to her feet, the star at the end of her tail flickering a metallic hue. She swiftly cracks her Iron Tail like a whip, only to find her opponent completely laced in a fortress of Ice! Having quickly fashioned an Ice Barrier, the Ice gremlin cackles maliciously into her stubby hand, although the laughter is short-lived as the wall shatters upon impact. The two enemies are left facing once again, but this time Eve taps into what little Psychic energies she possesses trying to lift whatever she can find to hurl at the feral feline. Various bits of rubbish from the bleachers ominously lift from the ground: screwed up bags of popcorn, half-empty cans of Pepsi, and a dozen or so coins from the previous round. The bits of debris begin to swirl in mid air as the small Snorunt moves her hands accordingly. Suddenly! The electric cat feels her own feet pick up as she’s sent into the sandstorm of rubbish which beats away at her with every hard projectile chipping away at her hp. Shinx and the hoard of debris are returned to the dirt track arena, Shinx taking a nasty shock to the head as Brain Freeze kicks in.

Okay Eve whilst she's down attack fast with another Ice Beam, really bring on the cold! Then send a Shadow Ball her way and should she retaliate then use your Double Team to keep her guessing.

"Ok Lexi, we can still win this with a little determination! Start by jumping over that beam and hit the dent in its head with an Iron Tail. Then let it waste a massive amount of energy by dodging the full charged shadowball by Digging underneath it. Finish by assualting the clones with a Egg Bomb.

Round Five: Snow Way Out!
I apologize in advance to Treepy for all the abuse that RNG caused ;<
Eve kicks off another round with Ice Beam, the erratic bolt cloaking cat and assuring another cold blow. However, as the pale miasma of white mist begins to dissipate, all that is left is a solid chunk of ice, Lexi is frozen solid! Eve cackles, scuttling side to side like a Krabby before shooting off a rapid blob of Shadowy energy with what fair share of Ghost reserves she inherits from her species. The Ball hurtled forward, phasing through the Icy cinderblock and clouting the feline for another clean hit. Luck clearly isn’t on the boy’s side this round, his female missing yet another chance to break free and Dig. Eve can’t help feeling frenzied for a triple hit, her health still capped with a spring in her step. She suddenly shifts into a yellowish blur as a Team of Doubles break away from the frosty snow cone. Lexi tries to break free again, but fate intervenes again, leaving her completely dominated by her nerve-jangling adversary who couldn’t be in higher spirits. Round Six: Pace, the Final Frontier
The small crowd of rowdy spectators reach a new high as the battle looks to draw to a close. The stout ice cretin is plainly buzzing having dominated the previous round, although it looks as though the jungle cat still has some bite left in her as the slab of ice is noticeably thawing. Not this time though, Shinx still unable to break free! Eve giggles again, scuttling forward as her circular paw begins to ooze with fighting energy. With ample time the fist-move fully charges as she outstretches the clenched arm and Punches the cinder block with intense Focus, causing it to smash to smithereens in the midst of a massive explosion! Lexi is thrown backward with the splinters of ice, taking a massive hit at the cost of massive energy consumption on Eve’s part. Lexi rolls onto her back, meowing weakly as she attempts upping to her feet. However, when cocked to attack she finds there’s more than one opponent! Unsure which clone to go for, she limps forward with her star-pointed Tail flickering to a solid Iron. The cat whips the silvery appendage forward, only luck hasn’t kicked in yet as the target dissipates. It was a clone! With that, the battle’s outcome is pretty much set in stone, Lexi stopped dead in her tracks by Disable. The little Snorunt forms a Shadowy blob in her mitts once more, pitching as it waywardly hurtles toward Lexi. The Ball dips downward, smacking the small feline in the noggin for the finishing blow. It’s all over now folks!
Eve Health 34% Energy 03% Status 1x Double Team Clones Lexi Health KO'd Energy 17% Status B-FRZ Bulked Up "Lexi is unable to battle... Stacey and Eve are the winners!" Eve receives 2 levels for her victory. Arc on the other hand receives this nifty little  That's three trophies, you're on your way to the gym challenge! Congradulations and Good Luck! Seeing his Pokemon being KOd, Matthew ran to the center of the court, picking his Shinx up in his arms, and admirable look on his face as he became proud of Lexi for fighting it out the last. “You’re defiantly my Pokémon; you follow my natural losing streak” he joked, having lost his three first battles in Fizzy Bubbles.
Turning to face Stacey, Matthew thanked her for the battle before running off to find a Pokémon center to get Lexi back to full-strength. OoC: Thanks for refing Emp, and thanks for the battle Stacey. :3 Quote:

Eve had done it, she had won her very first battle! She looked about ready to drop however and Stacey ran forward catching her before she collapsed.
"You did so well honey, you made me really proud". Eve blushed and rested in the comfort of her trainer's arms. Stacey noticed her opponant pick up his Shinx and she smiled thanking him for a well fought battle. *Collecting 2 levels for Eve raising her to Level 09* *Collecting the Beginner Battle Trophy* ^-^ Thanx for reffing emp |
