Probopass Dead Pokemon

Just inquiring, but on the Graveyard place where dead pokemon are, on the website, it says only Charmander, Sneasel, and Mime Jr. are dead. I assume more have died since then, does anyone know some?

No one really keeps record of that and I doubt that the Graveyard has been updated since like 2003.

It hasn't been updated because I left the league in 2003. In between the transition from the BMG "super-evo" era PASBL and Kuno's UPN PASBL, there weren't any deaths until either Owen or Loki killed off that Charmander for no apparent reason, after which only two other Pokemon died off (Mozz's Sneasel and Muyo's Mr. Mime?) and immediately after that, there was a sharp decline in Realistic battles. Even since coming back, I've seen only a single Realistic battle, and just because it was Realistic didn't guarantee a Pokemon was going to die. Only Kuno who has the only PASBL records would be able to accurately say how many Pokemon have died since then.

I only added that burial option because I felt it would make for an interesting battle on two main fronts. The first was if trainers had to face their dead Pokemon as an obstacle during a battle. The referee would have to research the trainer's history with that Pokemon, and based on that history and how the trainer orders, the Pokemon could maybe make an attack in the trainer's benefit before disappearing. Or, if it was treated badly, attack the trainer's current Pokemon. I envisioned that someone who would do something like order a Pokemon to suicide would have the option of making peace with their Pokemon in the heat of battle. It was to enrich the writing experience.

The second front was playing with original signature moves. There was an informal (?) rule (or it might have been my imagination) that trainers couldn't use the same signature move twice, or the same Pokemon for that matter, so this meant that if a Pokemon died a unique ability was added to an already unique arena. Mozz fudged this up by cloning his Sneasel and I remember being pissed off for a while, but the arena was still fun to work with.

In short, if that arena is going to get updated it's going to be updated so it's more reader-friendly, not really to bury new Pokemon. It's still a cool idea though.

I reffed the match, I didn't lose any Pokemon, the one you're thinking of is EC's Drowzee.

Well, I read the whole thing, and it sounded and looked great to me. I'll go look through some stuff, maybe I'll find some dead pokemon, . I want the Graveyard to be revived.

I've not seen any in my short time or in the archives. I do remember someone saying a while back that people who had realistic matches = massive injuries and deaths were usually overdoing it. I thin it was when that Rhyhorn killed the Skorupi but then there was a problem with the reffing so that was redone.

I've never had a Charmander, nor have I ever had one die on me.

Someone challenge me in a Volcano Arena in Realistic! We can try to see which of our Pokemon melts faster!

So there was once a trainer named Pooka. He had this GT arena which he designed so that he could always kill one poke from the challenger's squad by drowning. Of course, anyone with a remotely basic knowledge of fluid mechanics would know that his technique was impossible, but he had another trick up his sleeve. He got his real life friends to ref the matches for him, so all he had to do was tell his friend what he wanted to happen and then they would make the enemy poke somehow drown to death in the span of a few seconds. At least, that's about as much as I can remember. I'm not sure if any of the deaths were ruled to be legit after the LO's caught on to what he was doing. w

I think it's quite hard to kill a ghost :p. I seem to recall someone saying something about foresight and crushing, though.

I mean I think you refereed that match. Either you or Owen.

For some reason I remember it very well - it was a battle on a moving train. The Pokemon the Charmander was battling against knocked if off the train as it crossed over "the land of needles", and the Charmander ended up impaled on some spikes.

It was a pretty stupid way to kill off an otherwise healthy Pokemon and the owner didn't really make a fuss, but I would have been pissed off.

That's almost like,

Alakazam v. Moltres in Realistic

Your old Alakazam has a heart-attack at the sight of Moltres and dies.

Thanks for the 60 SP.

Not me. Not reffed by me. Not killed by me.

Match on top of a train sounds awesome though.

No, he was dodging a train that would hit him, jumped off cliff, and was impaled by the spikes below.

...no...

the pokemon were fighting on the train, the charmander fell off, and that's how it died. but honestly, trying to kill is only leading to getting your own pokemon hurt or killed anyway.
