Since there isn't any way to distinguish the difference in power between Zap Cannon and Thunder.

We also use Base Stats to determine which pokemon and is faster and for the difference in attack / defense and special attack / special defense.

I'm happy to edit it so the second shield is gone, seeing as it was basically dead anyway (about 1/2 a Thundershock I have written down here on my notes) and I like the quiet life, but it makes no material difference to the round.

Thanks.

"Same old routine, magnemite, typespam. Use your Superior speed to Swagger around, and then finish it with a Thunder."

Round Ten: De Ja Very Much Indeed.

UFOwned begins this round by Swaggering around, doing something obscene with its screws and insulting its opponent in as much of a way that a Magnet can insult a Cog. However, it seems that Bronzor has seen it all before (not two rounds ago in fact) and Zorro just rolls its eyes and presses ahead with the ordered Hynosis, attempting to lull Magnemite to sleep. Looking at it though, Magnemite doesn't seem too bothered by the hypnotic waves, completely unpeturbed. Looks like both Pokemon suffered from a heavy dose of RNGFail just there.

Looking to capitalize on its stroke of Luck, Magnemite calls down another peal of Thunder which zaps down and...

CRRRRACCCK!

Strikes the mast once more, cracking it deeply. As the two Pokemon look on almost in slow motion, the flaming mast falls, smashing through Zorro and the top deck and also clocking UFOwned a pretty heavy blow, sending it spinning around like it'd been hit by a baseball bat. Only a really, really heavy one.

Still, Magnemite is better off than Zorro, who, if it hadn't have been flat to begin with, certainly would be now. Bronzor is out for the count.

Bronzor is unable to battle, a second Pokemon from IaD please!

Summary

UFOwned's health took a bit of a blow that round when it got thwacked into the Ship's wheel at some speed, but the main issue it has is energy, ignoring repeated callings for one mover, it's well into critical energy levels, probably unable to pull off many more moves without conking itself out.

The ship isn't looking too good, the middle of the top deck has caved in and squelched the unfortunate Wench, much to the sadness of many of the Pirates. The middle of the ship is aflame also, and the boat probably won't last a whole lot longer, it's already listing distinctly to one side.

Sorry for the wait fellows.

Duskull, you're up. Spite, twice if necessary.

Round 11: Oh, there is a Duskull. Never mind me.

After Bronzor is recalled, everybody's favourite Dewgong send out a second Pokemon in the form of Elixir, a male Duskull with a penchant for musical theatre and partying. Hmmm. The spirit Elixir floats above the top deck of the flaming boat, supremely unbothered by the mess which is my lovely Pirate Ship, quickly burning away into a floating hulk.

But, enough flowery description of my beautiful burning ship, there's a battle to be getting on with! Elixir, noting that Magnemite is er...well, not breathing heavily as it doesnt breathe at all, but erm...processing heavily. Yes that, low on RAM and that sort of thing. Exploiting the situation, Duskull Spitefully decides to make Magnemite feel even more tired, sapping yet more energy away from the already flat battery of Magnemite. The lights go out inside UFOwned and the Extra Terrestrial crashes to the floor, unconscious.

UFOwned is unable to battle, second Pokemon from TeePeeOne.

Summary

Elixir is fresh, used moderate energy there.

The arena is really unchanged from last round. It won't be floating much longer.

Gtfo with your base stats, Duskull is fresh out and ordered first, Magnemite is tired from ten turns of heavy energy use with not a single one move combo in there anywhere.

ANIME style battling.

Whatever, Derp go.

Biba-roll then use Waterfall

No, in general the Pokemon that ordered has the initative. Obviously, if that Pokemon is ordered to wait for it's opponent or uses an attack which needs charging, then that may not be the case, but unless one Pokemon has a large speed advantage (say, Arcanine vs Shuckle) the Pokemon that orders first should move first.

Burst Agility to dodge Waterfall. Hover over to fairly close range and Night Shade.

Round 12: Do a Biba-roll!

With Magnemite space junk, the tree dwelling Panda sends out his second Pokemon, the wonderfully name Derp the Bibarel. In my head, he acts a lot like the big guy outta Hot Fuzz. Naarp. Anyway, Derp the Bibarel lands on the top deck of the Pirate ship, on the slight raised section with the ship's wheel on, a good distance from the flaming sails, but not completely out of reach. Of course, as a naturally aquatic Pokemon, he shouldn't struggle too much when we inevitably end up jumping like Raticate from a sinking ship.

With that pre-amble out of the way, Derb begins twisting and shaking like a pile of jumping beans. At first, it looks stupid, but the ends justify the means (Another reference which will be worth cool points to anyone who gets it) as Derp does a Biba-Roll, looking a little unsteady on his feet but managing not to trip or anything embaressing like that, increasing his movement speed significantly.

Although he isn't confused, Bibarel then proceeds to very strangely run around in circles on deck, in an attempt to raise a pillar of water for a Waterfall. Unsuprisingly, this achieves nothing beyond making Bibarel dizzy, as the combatants aren't in the water by any stretch of the imagination. Slightly bemused by his opponents antics, Elixir drifts in pretty close, firing a large Black Thunderbolt from his eyes in a Night Shade atack, which strikes the dizzy Bibarel for good damage, knocking Derp on his ample backside.

About ten feet from our two participants, there is a neat crunch as the flames wear down the deck to the extent that the mainsail pole crashes through to the second floor, setting the bedding seen earlier alight. If you remember, the next floor down contains gunpowder, and frankly, this ship aint going to be around a whole lot longer.

Summary

Derp took a reasonable blow just there, and while being a little bit dizzy has also had a considerable speed boost from his signature move. Energy use was pretty moderate, and he's still fine in both regards really.

Elixir used a little bit more energy than Derp, but took no damage.

Both are now located at the prow (front) of the ship by the Captain's wheel. The ship itself, as mentioned above, is not long for this world and will likely blow in a rather spectacular fashion sooner rather than later.

Dive into the water and stay away from the blast, being underwater should also stop the sing as you won't be able to hear it. When its done being an opera star, come back to the surface and Yawn at his lousy attacks ;p

Round 13: Sing us a Sea Shanty!

The first reffing from my new laptop, so there will probably be a typo or two- not used to the keyboard layout just yet.

With the ship ablaze and collapsing rather rapidly, the two battlers decide to abandon ship is quickly as possible. Derp decides to dive off the prow into the water below, which he does with a not inconsiderable splash. Diveing deep into the water, Derp puts some distance between himself and the ship as well as having the opportunity to have a look around. The ship was anchored in reasonably shallow waters (about 15m deep or so) and is surrounded by the usual wild Pokemon of the sea- a school of Finneon and a few Krabby and Clamperl towards the bottom. That Sharpedo from earlier appears to have swam off but could be back later if attracted.

Meanwhile, Elixir has also left the boat, although he's done so in an upwards direction, using his Agility to get away from the ticking time bomb, about level with Bibarel but a long way above, a good 30m above the water Bibarel is currently in, meaning that when Elixir decides to begin to Sing, it has little effect other than causing a few Pirates on board the boat to fall alseep admidst the commotion. Some distance below, Derp surfaces and decides to Yawn, the sound drifting upwards but being mostly drowned out by a huge explosion as the Pirate ship explodes spectacularly, sending bits of wood and pirate flying in all directions. Neither Pokemon in caught by the explosion, although Duskull is a bit suprised to see a Peg-Leg fly through his face, making him jump but not dealing any damage.

When the smoke clears, the boat is all but sawdust. A small life raft and a few other pieces of smouldering wood continue to float, but the majority has dissapeared below the surface. It doesn't look like there was a happy ending for the Bibarel on the bottom deck either, as a bushy tail surfaces distinctly missing a gormless beaver attatchment.

Summary

There was very little change to either Pokemon in this round, with energy use minimal and damage non existant.

The main change is to the battlefield, now noticeably devoid of Pirate ship, but now with added flotsam and jetsam. As noted earlier, Bibarel is floating in the water with Duskull a fair distance above.

Hello and welcome to rounds have time limits on them. As it was, RNG blew up the boat at the end of the round. I didn't fancy reffing a round in which nothing hapenned at all so your orders moved forwards.

Stay up there and Calm Mind. Have an Agility on stand-by if he decides to make more waterpillars.

Ah the water, how I've missed battling in your unforgiving tretches.

Taunt the Duskull off those defensive moves, then do what he didn't want you to do with a Waterfall to bring him down.

Round 14: Wet Wet Wet

This battle is getting very frustrating, neither of you seem to ever land an attack :/

Derp begins this round by attempting to Taunt his ghostly opponent, surfacing in the water and shouting up at his opponent some smack about spitting on it's grave. Duskull is however, as noted when Elixir tried to sing last time out, the two battlers are too far away from eachother to make much difference. Elixir can hear some noise from Bibarel but isn't quite sure what, so decides just to concentrate on achieving a Calm Mind, boosting his special attacks and allowing him to ignore the gestures being made below by Bibarel.

Frustrated by Elixir's seeming indifference to his taunts, Derp decides instead to raise another Waterfall, swimming quickly in circles to raise a very tall column of water, which rises up out of the water and crashes towards Elixir, who's eyes light up in shock at the height of the attack speeding towards him and uses another burst of Agility to run the hell away, descending a fair bit to maybe about ten feet above the water as well as
fleeing in rather comedic circles as pursued by the column of water.

Summary

Derp used moderate energy in that round and took no damage. Elixir is now considerably closer so hopefully next round should be more productive.

Elixir used a lot of energy with a second Agility in as many turns from a not usually terribly fast Pokemon. Total energy is now below three quarters by a fair bit, although Calm Mind has boosted his special attacks.
