blah blah blah announcer stuff
Shadowshocker versus Firewater Beginner Trainer Battle 1 vs. 1 72 Hr DQ Cloud Garden's Stardust Fields: Gently rolling fields spanning as far as the eye can see. This battlefield is a 50m x 50m section of the large grassy plain with one lone Cherry Blossom tree standing in the centre. You're both ASB peoples, the only difference is that the first round is always blind. Pokemon and orders in the PM, plz. Last edited by Amras.MG; 07-03-2009 at 09:57 PM. |

Both trainers yell out their orders, and the Pokemon leap into action. Machop Leers as Chimchar Growls at him. The two attacks cancel each other out, and Machop quickly Focuses his energy as Chimchar sets his foot on fire. Preparing to Smash his face like a Rock, Machop lurches towards Chimchar as Chimchar whips around and launches himself into a flying Blaze Kick with his left foot, colliding with Machop's Rock Smash with a dull crack. Chimchar flinches as he lands on his foot, but roars loudly despite the pain, sending a massive wave of fire lancing out from his body, the Heat Wave scorching Machop and leaving a blistering red burn across his chest. Machop winces in pain, but looks up with an evil look in his eye, grinning as he is surrounded by a red aura signifying that his Guts is starting to work... Machop Health: He took two strong hits, and health is now around 6/10ths of full health. Status: He is badly burned. Attack, evasion, accuracy, and defense are up by about a Swords Dance (if it could be applied to those). Energy: Didn't use much energy at all. He's above 9/10ths of full energy. Chimchar Health: He took one strong hit, and health is now around 9/10ths of full. Status: His left foot is pretty sore and might bruise soon Energy: Energy use was pretty good, and he's now at around 7/10ths of full. Shadowshocker, RNG determines that you order next. I know this seems to be different and such from ASB, and that it's not my turn... but what happened to Machop's Leer attack?

"Keep him at bay with an Ember across the grass in front of you. If he draws near, let him have it with another Heat Wave."

...well having no long distance moves doesn't help. Try to outrun the Ember by getting in close with a Bullet Punch, then fire a Thunder Punch at Chimchar afterwards.

Chimchar breathes in and releases an Ember in the second round of this match, starting us off by attempting to catch the grass on fire. Machop, however, cuts through the Ember in it's early stages with a Bullet Punch, using both the Steel energy and incredible speed of the technique to get close, dealing a small blow. Chimchar reacts with another Heat Wave, radiating fire and pressure out from his body. Machop groans as the fire catches his burned flesh, and he's thrown backwards again. The skin starts to bubble due to the close encounter with the flame, and Machop winces before running over to Chimchar and Thunderpunching him in the face, dealing some good damage.
Chimchar Health: Nearing 7/10ths. Status: No change. Energy: Nearing 5/10ths, starting to breat heavier. Machop Health: Nearing 4/10ths. Status: Severely burned, although buffs are still in effect. Energy: Between 7 and 8 tenths. Firewater, orders plz. |

"When he comes over, Heat Wave into his face before he reaches you. Then use your other good foot for a Blaze Kick at his gut."

Machop moves over towards Chimchar, attempting to Leer down at his opponent, but the attack fails due to Chimchar noticing the gigantic burn on Machop's stomach - who would be afraid of something with that big of a burn on their body? Chimchar releases another Heat Wave which hits Machop in the stomach again as the Fighting type rushes to Rock Smash his opponent. The attack forces Machop to cry out in pain, and he can't even use his Guts to get up as the burn is irritated and damages him more. Crying, Machop is unable to block himself as Chimchar whips around with a Blaze Kick, adding even more insult to injury as the massive damage racks up from the previous rounds of burn damage, and the attacks just used. Chimchar lands heavily, breathing extremely hard. Machop, however, barely manages to stand, wincing, holding on to conciousness through sheer force of his Guts.
Chimchar is at 3/10ths for energy. No damage taken. Machop has less than 1/10th of his health left. Energy is at 7/10ths. Shadow, orders plz. |

"Double Kick him in the face. If he's still up after all that, land an Ember on him."

"you can do it Machop!"
David Michael calls out the words as he watches what had hapened to his fighting type. Sighing he hopes for a miracle before ordering a move. "Machop, try for a Low Kick as Chimchar Double Kicks then, use your Strength to turn his face away from you when he uses Ember." |

Machop and Chimchar dash for each other, although Machop moves slower than normal due to the pain of his large burn. Chimchar manages to get both of his Double Kicks to land, hurting Machop's head, before Machop goes for a Low Kick, knocking Chimchar's body out from under him. Chimchar nimbly leaps to his feet and sprays an Ember at Machop before the burned Pokemon can muster the Strength to turn his face, dealing good damage, ending with Machop on the ground, KOed.
Machop is unable to battle! Shadow and Chimchar are the winners! Chimchar recieves a Beginner Trophy and 2 levels for winning. Good job, both of you. Note: Firewater, Machop was burned badly enough that should you decide to keep it as a scar, it can be made into a permanent mark on his body, using the Boutique. |

Looking out at the plain, David Michael grinned as Machop managed to weather the blows, but ended up being too slow to avoid the final Ember, which effectively ended the battle. Returning the KOed battler, David Michael walks up to the scientist, shaking his hand with an enthusiastic "congratulations" to boot. Afterwards, he simply walks away.
OOC: well, good match Shadowshocker, and thanks for reffing Amras. |

Good show to you too, Firewater. You fought hard and bravely distance issues aside, and thanks for picking up the challenge.
