People assume that the cap of energy is a block-all, but it really isn't.

Thanks for the clarification homies. All it really says is recoil damage so I see no reason why it would reduce other attacks.

I only ref it as reducing damage a little bit. I think I got it from Concept, whose reasoning was 'If it blocks recoil, why not block parts of other attacks?'

Though I think the time he reffed FW's Blastoise' Skull Bash totally gobbling up my Lanturn's Charge Beam was a bit much.

Pretty much this. Reducing damage, sure. Blocking an entire move? Uh... no way. Broken^10

Whilst I think you probably did get it from me, I didn't ref the aforementioned match. I have it somewhat reducing damage, but not a whole lot.

Lying is bad and you should feel bad.

Look, it's me. I should know better, but this match is causing me severe brain trauma.

Daisy v Emp

Daisy has brought both uplevels (Lopunny and Octillery) and used them both within two rounds: both are still conscious. This suggests some disobedience is in order, but on what scale? Do bother disobey, or just the second used? Will they just goof off totally, or use attacks which were not ordered?

Je suis confused.

Ref's discretion, not a huge chance of disobedience? I usually have them disobey if they're given orders they won't like.

Does Air Slash get boosted by Swords Dance? Does it just chock up to opinion on this case?

I'd say no, seeking non-Dave opinions.

I'm not sure where it was mentioned, but apparently the disobedience factor was taken off. Prior to it being taken off, I'd confirmed with Muyo via IM that in this case, both 'mon have a 40% chance of disobeying for each command.

Going off my opinion that Twister does special damage, being elemental instead of a physical hit, I'll say it doesn't. I'm still not sure why we insist Twister as physical; is that the treatment for every element that has a counterpart in matter? In which case, are there no "special" Flying moves?

I kind of think that attacks in the "gray zone" like that-i.e. Water moves-should be powered by Special Attack but affect Defense. Just a noob opinion though.

I've been bugged about this lately, myself. Why do we have that? :/

I consider Air Slash, Air Cutter and (now) Razor Wind at the very least to be Special. And if I were to ref Twister with boosts, I'd give it Special boosts as well.

I guess I'll ask this here.

How are status effect moves related to type resistances? Like would Confuse Ray be less effective on a Pokemon that resists Ghost typed attacks? How much would burn causing attacks (Will-O-Wisp) be less likely to burn/less damaging burn to Pokemon that resist Fire typed attacks? Poison causing attacks? I feel paralysis (Thunder Wave) is a simpler example though, should be resisted better by electric resisting Pokemon.

It depends on the circumstance. Clearly a Pikachu is going to be less affected by Thunder Wave than Totodile, while Stun Spore will affect both equally. Confuse Ray will be less effective on very intelligent pokémon and those resistant to mental moves like Psychic types but will work fine on Poocheyna. Fires are resistant to getting burned but can be burned, Bulbasaur can be poisoned (well, I think so anyway), Sneasel can be frozen.

Type and statuses don't really go hand in hand, like Kush said. There may be some resistance but they're not going to be outright unable. The only clear exception to that would be inorganic Steels and Poison, but that extends to all inorganics, really, not just the Steel ones.

I'm so happy that I'm THE MAN and can ask this question.
Quote:
Ally Switch (PS) – Using significant energy, the user uses its intense Psychic abilities to literally swap places with a partner, teleporting in their place and putting them where they just were. Because this requires a consensual mental connection, only partners can swap places with the user.
Will Ally Switch work if one of the pokemon is confused?
