General understanding is that Charizard et al are knocked out by any attack following the one where they're supposed to be KO'ed I believe.

I just thought that Charizard could pull off a round's worth of attacks after it had been considered KO'd. And I didn't really think it was broken because, by that time, Charizard had probably expended a lot of energy, and getting off 3 Hyper Beams worth of energy/damage in a single round doesn't seem feasible if you're a decent ref.

What does half of its electrical energy mean, exactly?

In the anime, to use electric attacks, Elekid has to 'charge' itself by spinning its arms like turbines. I presume this is derived from if it doesn't instantly release the electricity, it can store it for later.

Just wondering if this suggests that Butterfree would have more Psychic energy than a pokemon that isn't 'familiar' with psychic moves? It would really help me speed up my writing of a sig for Butterfree if someone could help me out.

Being familiar with Psychic moves implies that Butterfree has slightly more Psychic energy than most other non-Psychic Pokemon and also that the move Psychic itself is stronger. For example, instead of being able to pick up relatively lighter things like most non-Psychic Pokemon, Butterfree would be able to pick up and throw heavier objects and Pokemon, but not the the extent of a Psychic Pokemon.

Thanks T-dos, my intention is to give Butterfree a more intense Psychic energy boost. But with it having a slight raise anyway, I might see about giving it something like Calm Mind as well. Time to go work things out based on your help.

As the new species characteristics are now in effect, could we either get them copied in here or the other thread stickied until they are copied in here?

Possibly because Makuhita is known to be cave-dwelling (Granite Cave), and Sudowoodo has never been seen in one. But that said, my two cents is I've never imagined either to be this relevantly capable.

True enoough, but then several other pokémon who live in caves should have this benefit.

Thanks Kush for bringing that up, I'm too dumb to post it in here. But yeah, I too wonder this. Also, Sudowoodo lives in the forest, so shouldn't he get a boost as well?

Well, probably not, but half of the pokémon you used in that match I reffed have absolutely no reason to be blinded in the dark.

As much as people hate it, it has come to my attention that Huntail lacks a Species Char.

This must be fixed.

I propose either:

Huntail: (Water) Huntail is considered familiar with Dark attacks (To mirror Gorebyss' Psychic familiarity). As a deep sea Pokemon, it can see in the dark well and is resistant to high pressure (Same as Gorebyss).

Or:

Huntail: (Water) Due to Huntail having a large mouth, its biting attacks do slightly more damage (Self-explanatory). As a deep sea Pokemon, it can see in the dark well and is resistant to high pressure (Same as Gorebyss).

I know it's not exacly high-priority but I plan on getting one of these bad boys soon :x

Also, I've noticed that not all the new Species chars have been copied over. Does this mean that they weren't accepted?

This is just me wondering: Why do some obtainable legends that have been prominently featured in the Anime (ie Latias, Latios, the Regi's) not have characteristics, while some Unobtainable legends (ie Mew, Mewtwo, Ho-oh, Lugia) do? Seeing as Kuno is currently trying to obtain a Latias, I just thought it was relevant.

The Latis and Regis do have SCs, they're just not in this thread. There's a thread called "New Species Characteristics" somewhere in the S&I forum here, and the SCs that aren't listed here are there. I don't know why they haven't all been moved here yet though.

EDIT: Here it is.

EDIT#2: Oh wait, the Latis aren't there. Regis are, but I don't know what's happening with the Latis.

We discussed the Latis but never gave them anything official due to being unsure how to treat Latias. However, I can BS something real quick if you're that concerned about it.

Muyo will have the ultimate decision on whether or not they will apply to the current battle (and they probably won't), but I will have them for posterity.

Latias (Dragon/Psychic) - The Latis are extremely swift and agile creatures, able to fly at high speeds and maneuver with minimal effort. Much like a Ghost Pokemon, they are able to go invisible for a short time (a maximum of 2 rounds) by refracting light with their mirror-like feathers, though this invisibility is somewhat imperfect as they leave behind a slight shimmer that makes them somewhat detectable when stationary.

Huntail (Water) - Huntail's jaw is large and powerful, giving it a slight boost to biting attacks. The spots on its tail are bioluminescent, allowing Huntail to light dark areas for short periods of time, a la Flash. As a deep sea Pokemon, it can see in the dark well and is resistant to high pressure.

A question about Chimeco's new characteristic: A suction cup on its head? Seriously? I always thought it was a bell, and thus it would make more sense to make its sound attacks more effective. Anyone have pics for suction-cup Chimeco?
