I wonder if the new forms will have different stat/stat distribution to their counterparts.

Oh lord they're doing it again?
When will they learn that Ice will never produce a successful defensive pokemon?

What if Alolawak is a special attacker, though? Now that it's got a typing that doesn't block the Special Attack boost from Lightning Rod, you never know. I think that'd be kinda cool, especially if it still gets Ice Beam like the original Marowak.

Ability discussion!
Schooling has disappointed me. Apparently, washiwishi spends a while with no ability before basically earning the power to... devolve in the middle of battle? I knew it wind up working like Defeatist, but the fact you have to earn it just makes it all the worse! School!washiwishi is still pretty cool, though, so I guess I'll let it slide. Insides Out= Aftermath on steroids. 'Nuff said. I hope we get a non-electric type that can learn Electric Terrain so that Alola!raichu can actually use it's ability outside of mono-elec. teams. I mean, if most of the pokemon that learn Rototiller don't even reap the benefits of it, so Electric Terrain would be a solid step up from that! Non-Abilty discussion! I like Aolan Meowth a lot more now that I've actually seen it in game. He's not something I'd go for in game, but it my opinion on the Meowth vs. Meowth battle I proposed earlier has changed in Alola's favor. Progress! Pyukumuku is another case of 'I like it better now that I've seen it in game' syndrome. If we were to draw comparisons to frogs, it literally swapped out the jump height the black elebits had for the whole outside-world-stomach thing, then freakin' weaponized the sucker. It does have the same habit of striking back full-force when accidentally 'attacked' as the black elebits, though, so that's pretty unfortunate. At least the locals aren't afraid of it? They've made some odd traditions around them, sure, but at least they try to keep them from starving themselves to extinction... Things that simply couldn't be the case: Alolan raichus coming to be because of fluffy pancakes. If that were the case, then surely they'd be in other parts of the world too! In any case, I really like the changes they made to make it stand out from it's dimunitive cousin while simultaneously dissing it's ability to use Surf. 'You had to get a surfboard, but I am a surfboard! Gotcha beat, pikadoofus!' (Alola!raichu doesn't look like the type to use serious insults, okay?) Now, if only they's go ahead and give it surf naturally, all will be well in the world! Always forget the species of mushroom morull is based on exist. They show up somewhat frequently in games, sure, but I always forget about them anyway... As for the pokemon itself, I guess it's kinda cute? I think it's similar habit of making mini-migrations at night might give it trouble from fomantis' every once in a while, but it's more honorable reasons to appeal to the conservationist in me. Still unlikely to actuallt use it, though. Especially if it only has that one stage... "And so we begin our next segment of the Alola tour. If you look to the right, you'll see a herd of gyarados fleeing in utter terror from an eight-inch anchovy. Feel free to take pictures and laugh your hearts out for a bit, but do realize that I'll be moving on. Speaking of laughing one's heart out, do watch your step..." Seriously, though, the description for washiwishi is reeeeally freakin' hilarious. The mere thought of tynamo's pure-Water cousin being more terrifying to the mighty sea dragons of destruction than it is is just too much to handle! We already knew Alola's wildlife had some serious issues going on, but this really does take the cake! |

I would assume that if Alolawak is a special attacker, then either the Thick Club gets altered to accommodate this, or a similar item is introduced for Marowak's Special Attack, like how Ditto's got the Quick Powder and Metal Powder.

I'm an idiot and forgot to mention that ariados has been conformed to be in the game, which is pretty nice news for me.
And for the rest of the world: some NPC's will finally use balls other than the standard poke! About time, I say! |

I personally think the reason we're not getting a real reason behind Psychu is because the real reason ends up tying into the main plot in a way that would constitute a spoiler if they were to reveal it.

Truthfully though given the subtle hints at the underlying theme of Alchemy, it wouldn't shock me if you were correct. |

Wasn't there that Pikachu in the anime that had blue eyes and glowed whenever a big wave wave coming near.
Sounds a lot like a psychic type to me

I've warmed to our new Raichu friend. Aholan Exeggutor still being the worst thing to come out of this mess, but the rest are all quite decent. I wish the art of Aholan Meowth didn't have a stupid grin though in its artwork. |

I'd like to see Puka return as Psychu. In fact, I don't think I'd be especially surprised if it turned out Puka's partly what they based Psychu on in the first place.

Japanese website updated and... (non-Alolan) Dragonite and Zubat are listed among the new mons. ...Huh? There's nothing particularly new mentioned about these two (and their evolutions) but it does come across as strange. Why mention them in particular when we've already been seeing old Pokemon in the game left and right?
Even the official Japanese twitter are mentioning these too. (Translation: "Dragonite and Zubat arrives to Sun and Moon! Stay tuned to get to know more about these familiar Pokemon!") |

Says the same thing for Zubat. Weird. Also I'm 100% naming my next Zubat Doc Flight or Dr. Flight or something like that now. |

Maybe it has something to do with their shiny color.
Maybe they'll finally get a decent color instead of that hideous green they have now...
