Both of Xander’s Pokemon as well as the two remaining Pincurchin were on the ropes, but the tide of battle had turned with the inclusion of Oshawott and its new shell. The Pincurchin were not quite done yet however, and as Xander called out a strategy for Pichu and Dewpider, the pair of electrical spike balls prepared for one last assault.

One of the Pincurchin began to Discharge a powerful amount of electricity, but Pichu was right there to soak some of it up and ram into it for some Rough Play. The Pincurchin was knocked out, and as its ally looked to avenge it with a point-blank Fury Attack, Dewpider hit it with a strong Liquidation while Oshawott smacked it with its shell once more, creating another loud cracking noise that echoed throughout the water. The last of the Pincurchins was finally defeated, letting Xander sigh in relief. Dewpider and Pichu have grown by 3 levels each!

Oshawott stared up at Xander and smiled victoriously as the group assessed the damage, and the young otter admired the makeshift shell Xander had given it. It seemed thankful for the assistance, and after a couple of moments, it suddenly turned its head to look up. Xander looked up as well to see what Oshawott was looking at, and there was a silhouette of something swimming down towards them, obscured from the glare of the sun above. As the figure got closer, Xander could recognize the glimmering jewelry of Lyra reflecting off the sunlight. It was unusual, he thought, considering her unwillingness to get wet earlier, but as he got a closer look at her approach, there was a frantic look on her face. She yelled out into the water as a muffled sound reached his ears and a stream of bubbles rose to the surface. She pointed frantically towards Xander, confusing him at first, but saw Oshawott’s expression turn into abject horror. He turned around to see the open jaw of a Sharpedo coming right at him.

Given the fact that Cupid was still a youngster and wasn't as well equipped in battle as some of her other aquatic team mates, the man made sure to keep one hand hovering over a sphere containing another of his Pokémon as the two of them made their descent into the depths. If they were to get attacked, back-up would be available in an instant and this appeared to keep the Luvdisc at ease.

Following the direction from which the disturbed Alomomola had hastily appeared from, neither Cupid nor Gary could see anything dangerous at a first glance. Admittedly, the light filtering down from the afternoon sun was dimmer in the deeper water but it wasn't nearly as gloomy as it could be. Following the sloping side of the reef, it wasn't long before the man and his Rendezvous Pokémon came upon the spot where the date must have been taking place. A number of leagues away, the pair encountered another clearing hidden amongst the crags. Much smaller than the previous, this would have been the perfect spot for a private date.

With nothing to be seen in the vicinity but the Rendezvous Reef itself, Cupid gives Gary a confident look before swimming forwards to peer between the rocks and get a closer look at their new find. At first glance, there doesn't seem to be anything untoward and she motions to her trainer to let him know that the coast looks clear in the secret space. With clearance from the Luvdisc, Gary followed the Water type through the gap in the slippery rocks, emerging into the hidden cove and scanning the area from within.

All around the clearing, algae and seaweed clung tight to the rocky surrounds and the white sand looked to be completely untouched save for a peculiar flower sprouting at its very centre. Despite her initial curiosity to explore the secret spot, Cupid appears to be taken aback by the presence of a flower growing freely in the deep water and stops where she is swimming to peer at the peculiar sproutling from afar.

What will you do?
Gary carefully followed behind his Luvdisc as the pair descended deeper into the reef over the edge of the drop off area. The further they got from the surface, the harder it got for sunlight to reach, causing the light to grow dimmer by a little bit. There were a number of jagged and slippery rocks to navigate through, but Gary took extra care to make sure he didn’t cut his legs against anything sharp.

Cupid seemed to have discovered a hidden cove that the pair of Alomomola from before were likely to have fled from, so the pair pressed onward in order to check it out. As they made their way through, they arrived at a hidden clearing that was obscured by algae and seaweed. Everything here seemed pristine and untouched, so Gary felt the urge to keep it that way, but he couldn’t help but notice a peculiar flower poking out of the white sand smack in the middle of the clearing. The flower itself looked to be quite out of place, but Gary couldn’t help but notice some of the sand surrounding the base of the stem looked a bit disturbed as well, and the pieces seemed to be coming together in his mind.

Cupid looked down at the flower inquisitively, but before she could investigate closer, Gary held up a hand to block her. Throughout his studies of marine life, there were a number of species that had developed biological lures that would draw in prey for an ambushed strike. If this case was the same, then Gary knew that they were now dealing with a predator. They might already be trapped in this small enclosed area, so he wasn’t eager to turn his back now. He was going to need to play this out carefully, and he knew that Cupid’s gentle demeanor wasn’t made for fighting. Reaching down to his belt, Gary procured a Pokeball and tossed it before him. In a bright flash, a small pink and blue squid appeared as he glowed with bioluminescence. “Let’s handle this carefully, Calamari,” Gary called out as the Inkay floated upside down with blissful ignorance. “Pull up a Reflective shield as you approach that flower and wait to see what it does as you flash some Hypnotic lights at it.”

Using TR Iron Defense on Empoleon! Empoleon learnt Iron Defense!

Team work makes the dream work. Working together with Oshawott, the inexperienced pair of Pichu and Dewpider had managed to smash the Pincurchin, protecting the kelp and saving Oshawott from a likely loss. The pair seemed pleased with themselves while Oshawott seemed grateful for the makeshift shell Xander had gathered for it, however they didn't have much time to celebrate.

Pichu reached lvl 16! Dewpider reached lvl 4!

A sparkling silhouette descended from above, Xander was shocked to see Lyra in the water after she'd been so adamant. However it didn't look like she was in the water for fun, she was shouting frantically towards him. Luckily she had, otherwise they'd probably have been ambushed by the rampaging Sharpedo heading their way. "Fuck", Xander let slip as he looked towards the vulnerable young Pokemon, they had to get out of the water, he had to get out of the water! Thankfully Empoleon's protective nature had already kicked it into gear. The penguin's feathers glistened as it prepared itself with an Iron Defense before surging forward to intercept the shark with an Aqua Jet. Meanwhile Xander scrambled in the water, kicking his feet frantically as he swam towards the younger Pokemon. "Everyone swim up and out of the water, now! Dewpider to me, Pichu, Oshawott, swim as fast as you can! He knew Sharpedo were fast. He'd tangled with the Pokemon before, however not it such a costly and unexpected situation. He knew his Pokemon had no way of matching their attacker for speed, but he had a plan in mind as long as Empoleon could buy them a moment.

Xander had to think fast as the Sharpedo’s open jaws drew closer and closer. Empoleon had some past experiences dealing with these kinds of sharks before, so he knew what to expect and quickly hardened his feathers with an Iron Defense. He then darted through the water like a jet in order to intercept the incoming predator as Xander urged his Pokemon to swim to safety.

Dewpider quickly latched on to its trainer’s wrist like it was accustomed to while Pichu paddled its tiny limbs as fast as he could. Lyra herself was running out of air, but she dived down anyway and grabbed Pichu in her arms before kicking furiously towards the surface. The clang of metal and bone cracked through the water as Xander reached the surface. He needed to check and see how Empoleon was faring, but ensuring the safety of the young ones took priority.

Lyra lifted Pichu back into the boat before scrambling over the edge herself, and then she reached over to give Xander and Dewpider a hand. For now, it seemed like Pichu and Dewpider were in safe hands, but as Xander looked around, Oshawott was nowhere to be seen. He quickly ducked his head under the water, and to his horror, he witness the young sea otter defiantly squaring off against the gnashing jaws that were several times its size. Empoleon was doing its best to hold the Sharpedo off as it Crunched down on the penguin’s hardened wing while Oshawott was determined to display its mettle with the small makeshift shell in hand.

It was a mad scramble as they all rushed to get out of the water. The Sharpedo was a real threat. On its home turf, having all of them in the water could prove disastrous. One by one they pulled themselves out of the water, Lyra tossing Pichu into the boat while Xander soon followed, Dewpider attached to his wrist. Empoleon was doing its best to hold the rampaging predator at bay, but even its steeled defenses could hold it off forever. Xander looked around the boat, something was missing....

Not something, someone! Oshawott was still in the water, wielding the shell he'd gifted it. He wasn't sure at this point whether the Pokemon was brave or foolish! It struggled against the Pincurchin and now it wanted to try and stand up to Sharpedo?! "We've got to do something, Empoleon can probably drag Oshawott out of there but exposing its flank to Sharpedo would be a massive risk." As Xander wasted precious seconds mulling over a plan of action, Pichu stared over the side of the boat, eyes unblinking as he watched Empoleon endure the ferocious attacks of the Sharpedo. He wanted to help, he wanted to protect them!

"Pi pi pi!" Pichu snapped at Dewpider before leaping up into the air. Xander reached out to catch the young electric mouse, however stopped his hands as Pichu began to glow. His body and tail elongated as he underwent his evolution midair, turning into a Pikachu!

Pichu evolved into Pikachu!

The newly evolved Pikachu's tail began to glisten as he somersaulted through the air. Righting himself, he angled his iron tail downward, intending on using it as an anchor to descend quickly through the water. As he sank through the air, Dewpider tossed him a new air bubble.

Xander was stunned. Pichu had taken things upon himself, throwing himself back into harms way in order to protect his friends. It was admirable, but just like Oshawott, somewhat foolish. He had to roll with it now though, they all had to get out of the water as quickly as possible. "Tell Empoleon to drag Oshawott out of there, cover their retreat with Electrowebs!" Xander rushed to get his instructions in before Pikachu submerged. He hoped that if Pikachu could sling electrowebs between the kelp, Empoleon could retreat without having to worry about being flanked.

While everything was going on up on the surface, Empoleon was doing his best to endure Sharpedo's attacks. He was shocked to see Oshawott still hanging around. He knew given the opportunity he'd have to grab the young Pokemon an Aqua Jet to safety, but there was no doing that if Sharpedo was still clinging to him. He began to strike with Fury Cutters, timing his strikes to when Sharpedo was latching onto him, ensuring his hits struck home.

Startled by the sudden realization that Oshawott had not joined them in their retreat, Xander wheeled about to make sure Empoleon would be able to protect the young sea otter. Pichu had its own plan in mind, and despite being worn out from the previous battle, it leapt into action as it began to glow brightly. Pichu grew a bit taller and its tail grew a lot longer as the glowing subsided and revealed its evolution into Pikachu. Pikachu dived back under the water, giving Xander and Dewpider hardly any time at all to support it with an oxygen bubble and a strategy.

Seeing as Sharpedo could easily eat Oshawott in a single bite, and likely thought of it as part of its natural diet no less, Empoleon would need to act fast to protect the small critter. The emperor penguin slashed at the shark furiously with the claws on the ends of its wings. Sharpedo surely felt the sting of that attack, but Empoleon did as well however, as it rubbed against the shark’s abrasive Rough Skin. It was at this point that Empoleon noticed Pikachu plunging back down towards their depth, so it was time to act. Oshawott was already lunging forward towards the Sharpedo with its shell held high, but Empoleon intercepted the otter and jetted off with the youngster through the kelp forest. Sharpedo followed in pursuit, but Pikachu quickly blocked the path with a wall of electric webbing that stretched from stalk to stalk of kelp. Enraged, the Sharpedo turned its attention toward Pikachu and chomped down on him with Poisonous Fangs. Pikachu was already feeling a bit worn out from all the battling, ascending and rapid descending, but to top it all off, it could feel the early effects of a terribly nauseating feeling setting in.

Back up on the boat, Lyra was still trying to catch her breath as dripped with water. “Are you okay?” she asked before suddenly lurching forward onto her knees. “Oh no, not again!” she yelped, closing her eyes and rubbing her temples. Xander looked at her confused to whether she was in some sort of pain. Lyra remained like that for a moment, as if she were in some sort of trance before she was finally able to snap out of it. “It’s not safe, but I have to go! They need me down there!” she exclaimed as she got to her feet, taking a deep breath and dove back into the water, swimming toward the thickest part of the kelp forest where Empoleon and Oshawott were headed. Lyra’s outburst seemed ominous, but Xander had to keep Pikachu’s status in mind as well, as it was fighting well out of its element against an intimidating foe.

Just as Xander feared, Pikachu putting itself back in the water was proving dangerous. While the newly evolved Pokemon had managed to give Empoleon an opportunity to get Oshawott away from Sharpedo, he now found himself targeted. Xander had watched closely when Empoleon had attacked Sharpedo. It appeared their attacker had the Rough Skin ability, which given the circumstances, was probably better than the other alternative. They needed a plan to get everyone out of the water as quickly as possible, which was why Xander was stunned when Lyra dove back in!

She'd spouted something about 'not again' before she leapt off the boat. Xander was starting to get frustrated with the girl and the mysterious nature surrounding her. He had no idea how she was planning on helping, but he knew he had to get Pikachu back out of the water. The Electric type had taken quite a bit of damage while fighting the Pincurchin and now it had toxic poison running through its body courtesy of Sharpedo's Poison Fang. He no way of reaching out to the Electric type, instead he needed to remain calm and have faith that it could get itself out of harms way.

Pikachu grimaced as it felt the poison start to flush through its body. Perhaps leaping straight back into the water wasn't the best idea he'd had. He'd created an opening for Empoleon to get away, but now needed to do the same for himself. He sparked with electricity as he prepared to let loose with a Thunder Wave. A Double Team would make it harder for Sharpedo to track him, even more so once it was confused from Sweet Kiss. Sharpedo wasn't the only one who could play with status!

Having acquired knowledge about all manner of underwater tricksters and the sorts of tools they might employ to snatch their prey, Gary decides on a cautious approach to the flower and chooses another of his Pokémon to take the lead in the investigation. Team mate selected, the Inkay appeared from his Pokéball in a flash and floated before his trainer happily. Despite the situation at hand, the small squid was quite the carefree soul, choosing to float upside down in blissful ignorance to the nearby flower he was about to be tasked with examining. As Gary provided Calamari with instructions, though, the Inkay was quick to flip himself back the right way up and take stock of his surroundings and the flower that bloomed in the centre of the private retreat.

Floating himself carefully between the rocks away from Gary and Cupid and towards the purple flower, Calamari raises his tentacles and begins to form a reflective barrier of energy in front of himself as protection from whatever could be lurking within the shady waters. With defenses in place, the plucky Inkay inches closer and closer to the bloom and it isn't until the squid reaches the flower itself does anything appear to happen. As Calamari slips a tentacle across the white sand towards the bloom, a pulse of powerful energy from its base has him retracting it as quickly as he sent it out.

Given his already assumed defensive stance, Calamari manages to hold himself in place fairly well as the energy surge pushes Gary and the Luvdisc backwards through the water even outside of the cove. Given his trainer had provided him with another command, now was the time to make use of it and the bioluminescent squid begins to glow and emit a Hypnotic pulsing of his own in the direction of the peculiar flower. As the strange lights meet their mark, a woman's voice echoes through the minds of all present:

"Leave... Leave me be..."

The first word was filled to the brim with insistence but the others appeared to trail off in their ferocity. As they did and the trio were left in the ocean's silence once more, a series of small bubbles began to emerge from around the base of the flower, the sand rising ever so slightly before falling back into place and then rising once more. Despite the ground below it shifting, the strange bloom still stood where it was rooted, its stem following the rise and fall of the sands.

What will you do?

A loud cracking noise echoed across the battlefield upon the impact of the two attacks, but both leeks held strong. A smile formed on the wild Farfetch’d bill, impressed with Asha’s reflexes and tenacity to meet his attack head on.

Hiru clapped in wonder, seeming almost more like a spectator than a referee, but quickly remembered his role. Farfetch’d disengaged from his strike and hopped backward. He was certainly ready to keep going, but this time instead of keeping the pressure on Asha, he waited for her to make the next move and prepared to react.
Acting as quickly as she could, the Kantonian Farfetch'd gripped her small leek tightly as her Galarian counterpart rushed forwards with his much bigger blade. As her opponent reached her, he brought down his leek with a force powerful enough to smash rocks. Despite the power behind the move, the smaller duck met the vegetable with her own, imbuing her weapon with concentrated energy as she did. At the almighty crack of the meeting leeks, Zak could hardly watch but as the dust settled, it was clear that both stalks had stood strong.

Admiring the tenacity of his opponent, the bulkier of the two birds smirked at Asha. It was clear that he was impressed with her reflexes and the fact she was more than willing to meet him head on in combat. He wasn't the only one taken by the situation, either, as Hiru lost himself in the moment and cheered for the combatants; an action that made Zak smile. Before he could cheer himself, the Galarian Farfetch'd disengaged and hopped back from the locking of their leeks to prepare himself for the next round. This consisted of a taunt with his weapon before leering at his opponent from where he now stood awaiting the other Farfetch'd's next move.

It looked as if the Galarian Farfetch'd wanted Asha to bring her all to the battle and Zak did not want to disappoint the duck. In their short time together, he had developed quite the soft spot for the stoic bird and wanted to provide the challenge that he seemed to be expecting from the man and his partner. With that in mind, the trainer weighed his options and delivered his next orders to his Farfetch'd:

"Looks like this guy is waiting on you to make the first move, Asha - in that case it's time to show him your Feather Dance before you attempt to hit him with a Body Slam."

However, the massive ocean that spans across its shores has seldom been traversed other than its bustling ports that are few and far between. Recent attempts by cartographers have hoped to capture a picture of a unified ocean, and in the process have discovered many beautiful ecosystems as a result. In order to appreciate this pristine beauty and promote conservation efforts, the Fizzytopian Coast Guard has paired with the nation’s Board of Tourism to provide a guide for travelers to enjoy.

Welcome to the Fizzific Ocean: a diverse oceanic paradise filled with a myriad of biomes and cultures about as numerous as stars in the sky. From tropical reefs to arctic tundra, the ocean is separated by powerful currents that serve as natural barriers for vastly different climates. These segmented seas are classified not only by longitude and latitude, but by the temperatures that circulate through the ocean currents and the types of organisms found inhabiting each ecosystem. The climates of each of these regions rarely fluctuate throughout the year, and because of this have been aptly named after each season.

Warm nutrient-rich waters swirl the Springtide Sea, making them the idea location for wild Pokemon to raise their young. The Summer Surf features a hotbed of activity, from massive waves to open ocean travelers. Cooler currents chill the Autumnal Tides, filled with many dark secrets and mysteries. The Polar Pelagic is isolated by freezing deep sea currents that only the hardiest inhabitants can handle.

GLACIER ISLAND (Please reply in lightblue)
One of the oldest and yet least explored islands of Fizzytopia is not an island at all; Glacier Island is in fact a large iceberg that has maintained its form for decades without melting. Whether this is because of its location in the cooler ocean currents to the south, or because of some unknown mystery that has yet to be uncovered has not been determined, but researchers have been stationed here for years trying to uncover that answer. The area is a haven to ice type Pokemon, as well as the site of the most breathtaking auroras in the night skies.

The Boreal Basin: Deep in the heart of Glacier Island are a series of deep pools of water collected from the ice around the area as well as precipitation in the air. For some reason, these pools never freeze over, but studies have always come up inconclusive when testing the chemical composition of the water. A large structure made out of ice watches over the area like a guardian; many locals have claimed it possesses many canid features and some even say it resembles the legendary Pokemon Suicune, a claim further enhanced by the purity of the pools of water and the location being regarded as the best spot on the island for observing auroras.
"I'm absouletly freezing." Danny said, as he rubbed his palms together to warm them up, although futile. Fleur, his Snivy, shivered at his feet, as the two trudged through a cold, icy, snowridden, abominable environment. They were deep in Glacier Island, a large iceberg in the Fizzific Ocean. Danny wanted to go to somewhere extreme, where he could catch a good variety of types - he was sure to find ice and water types here, which were better than just a Grass type.

"We're close to where we need to go." Danny said to Fleur, as he swished his hand to block an incoming snowdrift. "The Boreal Basin. It's said to never freeze over - and has a giant ice statue - I have to see that! Absolutely have to!" Fleur muttered something that was probably a bad word in Pokemon language as she was struck in the face by snow Danny accidentally kicked at her.

"Oops!" Danny apologized. "I'll just.." He scooped the snake up in his arms and kept on walking in what he was hoping was the right direction, as Fleur curled up and went to sleep in his arms. Danny realized he was probably lost, but he didn't want to admit it. "If the lake is special because it never freezes over and has a guardian statue, then we should be able to find it by looking for some water and a giant ice statue." Danny slipped off his glasses and cleaned them, blinking as he put them back on.

"I think I see it." Danny squinted, and he saw the vague shape of a giant object in the horizon.

"I'm headin' over there." Danny said, jogging in its direction. "That has to be it."

Setting his sights firmly on a visit to the Boreal Basin, Danny and his Snivy, Fleur had trekked across the barren and thankless terrain of Glacier Island to eventually reach the location they now stood. Following a quick clean of his spectacles for good measure, the lad could make out a distinct silhouette jutting out along the horizon and broke into a jog against the falling snows, the reptile nestled safely in his arms the whole time.

Up ahead of the pair, the landscape had started to slope downwards except for the one outcropping which stood sentinel above the area. This was what Danny had been able to spot from afar. At the pinnacle of the rock was a crystalline statue, the surface of which appeared to twinkle in the late afternoon sun as Danny and his partner moved ever closer. This landmark was the centrepiece of the whole area and there were legends aplenty about its origins and its purpose. Right now, though, it was too difficult to make out any of the detail in the crystal; the statue was simply too far away.

Reaching the slopes of the Boreal Basin and the base of the harsh rock, Danny found himself at an obvious fork in the rough and seldom trodden pathway. One way appeared to wind its way up and around the protruding rock face with a narrow and fairly precarious ledge leading those interested in a closer look up to the statue’s plinth. The other continued down the natural slope of the land and into the basin towards what the boy could only assume were the legendarily crystal clear pools the statue overlooked.

Which will you choose?

It was it. Danny had spotted the right statue and was moving in the right direction, his glasses clinging to his face as he jogged, kicking up snow and making it sprinkle down cinematically. After some jogging, Danny began to notice that the silhouette was growing bigger, and that the land ahead of him didn't seem very flat anymore.

On the contrary, the snowy expanse sloped downwards ahead, making Danny stop so he didn't fall. He saw that aside from the statue sentinel, the land sloped down around the Boreal Basin, most likely leading to the clear, impregnable pools that were said to be unable to melt beneath. Danny took in all he was seeing. Although he couldn't make out the details of the statue, he could see the statue's surface twinkling in the afternoon sun.

Danny saw he had two choices.

"Okay, so." Danny said, placing down Fleur gingerly as the snake Pokemon woke up, blinking her eyes. "We can either go up to the statue's base to get a closer look, following that narrow and dangerous looking ledge," Danny pointed. "Or, we go down the natural slope, down to the lakes, and observe that wonder of science." Danny thought about it for a second. On one hand, he had a possibly impossible climb to reach the magnificent statue, and observe the ancient monolith - possibly the best thing he'll ever experience.

On the other hand, he had the relatively easily accessible lakes, which were a scientific wonder as they didn't melt, and were probably good looking and home to lots of Pokemon.

"Look alive, Fleur! We're going to the lake!" Danny said, walking, as the small snake Pokemon followed.

Glancing backwards as the two of you wander further down the slope towards the pools, Fleur finds the view of the crystalline statue is better from this angle and tugs at the leg of her trainer's pants to show him what she has spotted. When Danny turned to look at the sight for himself, he could just about make its canine shape with a slender snout from the front. It looked as if the beast was standing guard over the entire frosty domain, providing quite the awe-inspiring view for the boy and his Snivy.

"What do we have here, then?" A gruff voice catches Danny off guard and Fleur automatically jumps into a defensive position just in case. Turning to the owner of the voice the pair's fears subside somewhat at the sight of the man. Standing just over five foot tall, the chap was dressed in a parka at least two sizes too big for him and the face Danny could just about see through its cavernous fur hood wore a friendly smile.

"Didn't mean to startle ya, young'n - I've not seen anybody around the basin in the last few days so the sound of footsteps got me feeling chatty." As he spoke, the gentleman shuffled closer to Danny and his starter Pokémon, "I'm here studying the water and its mysterious properties, trouble is not all of the native Pokémon are all too happy about that. I've managed to get several samples but I could really do with some from that far pool in particular."

Following the direction in which the man was pointing, Danny could see the numerous pools he had travelled down to the Boreal Basin to visit, each crystal clear without any sign of freezing despite the frigid temperatures. In the distance, one pool stood further away from its brethren and this appeared to be the body of water which the gent was motioning towards.

"If you can get me a sample from there, there'll be a reward in it for ya." The warm smile returned to the old man's face as he turned to Danny and Fleur once more. This time, he held a small glass beaker with a rubber stopper in his hand hopefully.

What will you do?

Danny and Fleur descended down the icy slope without much difficulty. Upon nearing the bottom, Danny felt a tug from his reptilian friend, who pointed towards the icy monolith. Danny followed the direction of her hand, which led to a magnificent sight. Standing with all its glory, it was canine-like, its icy eyes seemingly taking watch over the set of crystal clear lakes, the multiple pools all a beautiful mix of blue and silver.

"It really is beautiful, isn't it." Danny said to Fleur, who gave a nod in return. Danny was silent in awe, as he slowly descended down the slope - his moment of awe was soon to be interrupted.

Danny jumped as he heard a voice from behind him, spinning around, as Fleur turned in a defensive stance, teeth bared, and black tail waving dangerously. Danny felt less on edge when he saw who it was. A man around five foot (Danny was taller than him), clad in a parka, with a face buried within that bore a friendly smile.

"Oh, you didn't - I'm not scared." Danny stuttered, as he motioned to Fleur to stand down. Danny listened to the man. Apparently, he was a scientist who came to study the pools' properties ("Great minds think alike!") and it was getting difficult, because the local Pokemon didn't seem to like it - Danny couldn't see a reason why - and that he needed help.

"You need help getting a sample from there?" Danny said, following the scientist's pointing finger, trying to keep his excitement down. Getting to work with a real scientist??! "Of course I'll help you! Come on out Puffles, all hands on deck here." Danny pulled a Pokeball from his backpack and extended it, and a Buneary zapped out, looking surprised at the snowy environment.

"So, yeah, I'll help get your sample." Danny said, and took the beaker from him, turning, and heading in the pool's direction.

However, he took the gesture to heart as Shamu carried onward, calling forth Reaver the Kingdra as insurance to deal with any nasty riptides or whirlpools they might encounter. The piercing green eyes of the fisherman’s Cramorant glistened in the moonlight, but as their vessel carried onward, the seafarers were completely camouflaged by the darkness of the black sea within moments leaving Emp alone with his Pokemon once again.

Emp and his Pokemon carried on with their journey in the most pristine conditions, and he really began to wonder what the old fisherman was on about. After about twenty minutes of sailing across the sea however, Emp looked down at his Kingdra. The large sea dragon called out a swift “Dra!” as its gaze was fixated on the horizon. Emp looked up and all he could see was a pure black wall; the stars that illuminated the sky simply diminished into the void past that point. The wind that was previously a gentle breeze began to pick up into a stronger gust. This could end up really bad after all, Emp thought to himself as Shamu and Reaver began to brace themselves. He had hoped that his weathered Pokemon would be able to sniff out any kind of storm, but they were completely blind-sighted by the ferocity of what was about to pass.

One thought would be to try and swim away in the opposite direction from the winds as the waves picked up and splashed against the Wailord’s side. Whatever the plan was, it was futile; a swell of pressurized air ripped across the ocean and blasted them like a speeding truck. Rain blasted Emp in the face while hurricane force winds made it near impossible for him to keep his eyes open. The waves kept rolling in, gradually becoming large enough to even rock the massive whale. The storm was unrelenting, and it only continued getting stronger and stronger at an exponential rate. Reaver tried his best to clear a safe channel for them to pass through, but the size of the waves soon towered several stories high as Shamu rocked back and forth violently over each cap. The Kingdra tried his best to keep close to his comrades, but the powerful currents were simply too powerful and before Emp knew it, he lost sight of the Kingdra within the squall.

Shamu let out a distressed moan as the waves washed over his massive body. Emp felt like he was riding a nasty rollercoaster atop the Wailord’s back as the waves even began to dwarf Shamu. The pair were at the storm’s utter mercy, rocketing off of one wave’s peak and slamming down onto another at full force. Shamu dove into a wave, but the force of the current pushed him back to the surface, forcing the whale to stand upright. Emp held onto the boat-like saddle for dear life as he could feet the tug of gravity attempting to rip him away from his Pokemon. Shamu lunged forward with all his might, slamming back down violently onto the next wave, causing Emp to catch some air before crumpling back into the dinghy with a thud. He felt terrible for Shamu, who cried out in exhaustion; the poor Wailord was taking a beating and was rapidly running out of energy.

The sea and sky were pitch black and it was hard for Emp to tell which way was up anymore. Shamu trudged onward mindlessly, his only focus was getting his trainer to safety. The whale’s concentration was broken however as a flood of water went down his blowhole causing him to spray it back out with a deep gasp. Unfortunately, the Wailord had been turned against the wind, causing the next wave to roll him over like a log. Freezing water hit Emp like a wall of bricks as he capsized under the waves. The icy temperature was a shock to his system, causing him to momentarily black out. As he snatched back his conscience, Emp attempted to swim towards the surface, but it was impossible to tell which way that was. It felt like he was in a giant washing machine, being constantly spun about. Emp struggled with all his might, but soon enough as he felt his breath leave his body, his consciousness faded back into blackness.

~~~~~~~
The next thing Emp felt was a gentle rocking that roused him from his slumber. He struggled to open his eyes as they refused to adjust to the blinding sunlight. However, a recollection of his last memories surged him back into attentiveness and his eyes shot open. His vision was completely blurred, unable to make out anything but a blue blob of nothingness before him. He tried to lift his head but struggled as every inch of his body ached. Gradually his vision began to clear, and as it did he focused on the upside down hard of a Cramorant that gazed into his eyes. It was then that he realized that he was the one who was upside down and willed his barely responsive body to roll over.
Emp struggled to push his arms to support his body weight and sit up. It took a few tries, but he was finally able to right himself. He had now come to the realization that he was resting haphazardly on a fragmented tree trunk floating across the ocean as driftwood. It was just slightly longer in length than his body and barely enough to keep his weight afloat. His legs dipped under the waves as the Cramorant’s shifting weight upon a small branch rocked them back and forth.
Thoughts of concern for his Pokemon rushed to his head, and Emp looked around frantically. Neither Shamu nor Reaver were anywhere in sight. He opened his mouth to call for them, but hardly any voice came out. Instead, he projected a small amount of sea water that he must have swallowed while unconscious. As he slowly regained feeling in his body, the chill of the water began to return to him. The situation was rapidly becoming one of life or death. Emp looked around for anything at all that could help him, but his backpack as well as his Pokeballs had disappeared along with Shamu’s saddle, which would have served as a much safer vessel than what he had now. He could try to sail atop the log for now, but with no way of catching the wind and no direction of which way was shore, he was stranded for now.
Cramorant kept its focus on Emp, watching the trainer to make sure he didn’t pass out once more. The sea bird seemed to have something in its throat, and after a couple of hacks, it spat up the contents into Emp’s lap. The sight was gross, but welcoming as a spherical object covered in sargassum proved familiar. The bonds Emp shared with his partners allowed him to immediately identify the ball as one belonging to one of his own, even though the kelp-covered coating made it hard to tell which one it was specifically. He held the ball in his hand, trying to peel the layers of gunk off of it, and as he did so, the Cramorant quickly flapped its wings and took to the air. Emp hoarsely pleased for it to stay, but the bird had disappeared into the vastness of the ocean without a second thought. The trainer was left alone with this unknown partner, cold, weak, and hungry as he attempted to sort his way out of this mess.
With the sea captain and his warning gone with the wind (or lack, thereof) the seafarer felt his head rest easy again. Shamu bobbed calmly on course while Reaver scouted ahead for good measure, his silhouette twinkling beneath the starlight as he shrunk into the horizon. With the sea dragon assuming night shift Emp’s eyelids grew heavy, worries whisked away by the gently lapping waves as he gave into exhaustion. He was teetering on the edge of sleep when Reaver’s call snapped him back to reality – rousing from his perch, the trainer could only make out a pillar complete black.
Emp’s ears pricked to a wind racing from half a mile away, a roar in the darkness mixed with the pitch of a scream. Like a predator encroaching its prey, a deafening whap-pap-pap resounded with the cadence of a machine gun. It was just loose tarp slapping against the walls of the dingey, but an involuntary shiver rattled inside Emp. Shamu groaned as his body rocked with turbulence, Reaver’s branches twitching as his storm-sniffing senses went into overdrive. Emp could only hope this was all fever dream, brought on by the night’s cold.
It was more like a nightmare turned real. The still waters around them morphed into mountains of angry waves, bringing a sudden sense of perspective to how small they were relative to the mighty seascape. Rain carried in wild vortices hammered against Shamu’s hide like a snare drum. The poor Wailord was soon climbing swells higher than forty-five degrees, crashing back down and jarring his rider’s bones. The storm was bent on unsaddling him, a ticket to a watery grave as good as sealed.
When a break from relentless ocean spray came, Emp cried out for Reaver who was battling the forces ahead with waning resistance – soon enough, he was obscured from view completely. For what little cover the sea dragon had given them, each wave seemed to sting a little harder in his absence. The swells were proving too tall to climb, Emp taking a fleeting breath of air as his vessel nosedived straight into one, its orbit pushing them up to the crest. Emp’s seat was slipping from under him as the wave began to break, Shamu puncturing free only to smack down violently into the next wave. Emp gasped for air, eyes stinging as his surroundings came back to focus – the wave had them in a tightening grasp.
Shamu was on the brink of exhaustion, each maneuver sloppier than the last. He was running on survival instinct alone but the storm was relentless, hurricane-force winds ploughing the Float Whale sideways as he spluttered seawater from every orifice. Emp grappled what rope he could as gravity shifted from beneath; hanging by a literal thread he peered up at the night sky in hopes of divine intervention, only to have his view eclipsed by an even darker silhouette…
It was like being caught under a collapsing building, the weight of the ocean capsizing Shamu and unsaddling his rider in one fell swoop. The wave punched all the heat from out of Emp as he rapidly lost altitude, his broken body unable to contend with the conditions as consciousness ebbed away. With whatever fight was left in him he snapped back to his senses and made a break for the surface. The sea had no mercy for him today, lassoing him in place and undoing any forward stroke he could muster. The current had him in tight orbit and he could no longer discern which direction was up. He had run out of breath to hold when the cold water rushed in, all illusions of surviving gone. Soon oxygen deprivation took away his thoughts and he could only hope the others had made it out alive.
***
Emp gave a weary groan when he came back to. A gentle swaying roused his senses, though his memories would take a while longer to resurface. He wished they hadn’t at all. It was like reliving the night all over, flashes playing over in his mind like a movie reel. A dull pain shot from his arm up to his neck as he made feeble attempts to rise. His wrists were raw with rope burn and his chest felt like it had been compressed in a vise grip. It was nothing short of a miracle he was alive and kicking, though he began to wonder if death would have been a greater mercy as his current predicament came into focus.
Straining through the blinding sunlight Emp was able to make out the shape of a seabird; it was the same dull creature that had started him on this journey. Or the same species at least. With the Cramorant gawking down at him, the castaway made effort to draw level. His broken body was too weak to comply, though after several attempts he found himself upright. The driftwood was no larger than Emp, though buoyant enough to hold his weight. It was no replacement for his dinghy, purpose built for this sort of emergency. Emp’s thoughts then went to his Pokemon, a ball of anxiety forming in the pit of his stomach – though if he survived then they just had to. He attempted to call out for them, provoking a sharp pain in his chest and a few dregs of seawater.
With a resigned breath he took to scanning the horizon for anything else caught adrift; the open ocean was as vacant and endless as it had been that night. There was no way to catch wind or paddle to safety and even if he could, it would be impossible to gauge which direction to go. Emp’s spiraling calamity stirred a response from the Cramorant, a lump forming in its throat as it hocked up its last catch. If it was regurgitated Arrokuda he would sooner go hungry, though starvation would likely remove this inhibition before long. It was something else entirely, a Pokeball swathed in kelp. The trainer could tell it belonged to him.
He prized the ball from his lap and began peeling away the layers as eagerly as a kid on their birthday, excitement quickly dashed as a ghost white shell came to view. With its delivery signed for the seabird took flight, ignoring Emp’s desperate plea to stay – the log nearly capsizing as he lunged in its direction. With despair giving rise to frustration, he almost made to fling the Ghost Ball at the Cramorant. It would do him just as much good, the Pokemon he was left with was unfamiliar and untrained.
He reluctantly lobbed the ball ahead. With a plop it cracked open to reveal a bleached white coral, pink eyes half-opening as she peered back at Emp with her perpetual frown. She could have been mistaken for a buoy as she bobbed nonchalantly against the water’s surface, until a set of semitransparent branches materialized from the cavities on her back.
The irony wasn’t lost on Emp, on death’s door with his last chance at salvation a Galarian Corsola. Perhaps he had drowned in that storm after all, and Daria had come to escort him to the next plane of existence. His grandfather once told him when a sailor dies at sea, the ocean becomes their cradle, their rest and rebirth. He wondered if this was the place those lost souls came to, spat back out for some entirely new purpose. Emp was unable to take solace from that thought, snapping himself back to the task at hand as he locked gaze with the peculiar Pokemon. While it ached to speak he spilled everything he could, eyes pained as he forced himself to relive every minor detail. Finally, when he was finished talking, he asked the Corsola if she knew anything about this sea – had any recollection of the events during her stasis – or any notion of what to do next.
“You must have some idea… We need to save the others… We need to save ourselves…”
“La...” Daria replied apathetically. It was clear at this point she wouldn’t be much help at all. The bleached coral was either unwilling or incapable of responding to disaster. To her the world was already painted grey, being cast away made no difference. In a past life she might have lent her Life Dew to mend his broken bones, but now all she could do was siphon life away. It struck Emp that might be the easiest way to put an end to this nightmare. Would it be cruel to ask that of one of his Pokemon, or would she take satisfaction from it? For the sake of the others, he wouldn’t give up just yet. Perhaps deep down within Daria’s hollow shell existed some semblance of her former self, a coral with a plan to get them out of this dire situation.
“Please…” he pleaded with the rock, voice cracking as fresh tears trickled down his face, “Do something…”
Having accepted the academic gentleman’s task, the chap quickly thrust the beaker into Danny’s hands and clapped his own hands together excitedly before smiling down at Fleur and the Buneary the lad had just released to help with the survey:
“You’re a whole carton of good eggs. I’ll wait for you here. Remember, the native Pokémon might not take too well to you showing up so keep your wits about you.”
With these words echoing in his mind, Danny began the short trek across the basin towards the pool the scientist had referenced. As the boy passed each of the pools along the way, he couldn’t help but marvel at the crystal clear waters, their surfaces practically undisturbed save for the occasional Water type Pokémon that popped up to keep a watchful eye on this new visitor. Fleur and Puffles pointed out the wild critters as they went as well and the group stopped briefly alongside one pool to watch a pair of Seaking in some sort of courtship dance.
Pressing on through the barren basin, it wasn’t long before the trio reached the side of the pool where they were tasked with taking a sample. Danny bent onto one knee and attempted to remove the cork from the top of the scientist’s beaker, his Snivy and Buneary quick to hop to either side of their trainer to assist. As they did, a powerful jet of water shot out from the nearby waters, hitting Danny in the face and causing the lad to drop the still sealed beaker at his feet. Luckily nothing was damaged and Puffles grabbed the glass before it had a chance to roll away into the pool.
Scanning his eyes across the smooth surface of the water they were all facing, the small white face of a Wishiwashi appeared a few metres from the boy and his Pokémon. The tiny fish seemed to be glaring directly at Danny and his companions, quite clearly the source of the mystery attack against the group.
What will you do?
Danny kept it in his mind that the local Pokemon would likely be less than friendly as he headed down the pools, his two Pokemon behind him. He couldn't help but admire the pools, crystal blue and shimmering in all their glory, the picteresque surface only being disturbed by water Pokemon darting up and about, each one being pointed out by Fleur or Puffles. He saw they seemed scared or surprised, but none seemed to attack him - so far.
At one pool, there were two Seaking swimming in some sort of dance - most likely one for mating - so Danny headed on instead of watching for too long, so as to not disturb them. Not before long, he happened upon the pool he was to collect a sample from. Fleur sniffed the air in indication of this. Danny set down his backpack and bent down on one knee, beginning to unscrew the beaker's large cork as his two Pokemon rushed to his sides defensively. Danny was near unscrewing when a sharp, cold gush of water shot from the pool directly at his face, making him stumble backward.
Luckily, nothing was damaged, as Puffles was quick enough to catch the beaker. Danny scrambled back up to the pool to search for his assailant, and soon found a lone Wishiwashi swimming near the edge of the pool, glaring at him and his Pokemon aggressively.
"Well, we came to expect this." Danny said, taking off his glasses and handing it to Puffles, who proceeded to wipe them dry on her fluff. "But let's not attack yet." Danny cautioned Fleur, who's black leaf of a tail was swaying dangerously. "This is a lone Wishiwashi, but it could school, so I don't think we should instigate." Danny thought for a few seconds, then took his fishing rod out of his backpack, unlatched the lure, and held it out to the Wishiwashi.
"I'm not a threat." he said softly, as he showed the beaker in his other hand. "I just want a small sample."
Deciding against a retaliative attack of his own for fear of the Schooling powers of Wishiwashi, Danny decided to try to reason with the fish and explain the innocent enough task he had been given by the scientist. As he did, he set about constructing his simple fishing set-up. The disgruntled Wishiwashi eyed him from its spot in the water the entire time, its beady eyes following the lure as it blew from side to side in the frosty air.
Rod under one arm, Danny bent down again at the water’s edge with the beaker visible to the fish, trying his best to appear as friendly and non-threatening as he could to get the water sample without need for any force. Seeing the lad’s hands slipping on the glass of the sodden beaker as he tried to uncork it once again, the Wishiwashi fired another jet of water at the boy and his Pokémon.
Much like last time the Wishiwashi struck, one of Danny’s Pokémon grabbed for the delicate beaker; this time it was one of Fleur’s vines that shot out and deftly caught the tube before it even had chance to land on the ground. Casting an annoyed look of her own across the pool, the Snivy carefully placed the beaker back into the hands of her trainer.
With the Wishiwashi thwarting the passive approach of the boy and his Pokémon, the trio stood alongside the edge of the pool would need to think of some kind of way of outsmarting the fish if they didn’t want to face it in direct combat.
What will you do?
The region of Fizzytopia is vast, filled with rich culture and a variety of civilizations, including several island colonies off its coast. However, the massive ocean that spans across its shores has seldom been traversed other than its bustling ports that are few and far between. Recent attempts by cartographers have hoped to capture a picture of a unified ocean, and in the process have discovered many beautiful ecosystems as a result. In order to appreciate this pristine beauty and promote conservation efforts, the Fizzytopian Coast Guard has paired with the nation’s Board of Tourism to provide a guide for travelers to enjoy.
Welcome to the Fizzific Ocean: a diverse oceanic paradise filled with a myriad of biomes and cultures about as numerous as stars in the sky. From tropical reefs to arctic tundra, the ocean is separated by powerful currents that serve as natural barriers for vastly different climates. These segmented seas are classified not only by longitude and latitude, but by the temperatures that circulate through the ocean currents and the types of organisms found inhabiting each ecosystem. The climates of each of these regions rarely fluctuate throughout the year, and because of this have been aptly named after each season.
Warm nutrient-rich waters swirl the Springtide Sea, making them the idea location for wild Pokemon to raise their young. The Summer Surf features a hotbed of activity, from massive waves to open ocean travelers. Cooler currents chill the Autumnal Tides, filled with many dark secrets and mysteries. The Polar Pelagic is isolated by freezing deep sea currents that only the hardiest inhabitants can handle.
WHALE ISLAND (Please reply in deepskyblue)
The largest island in the ocean was formed by a cluster of volcanic seamounts that rose out of the water millennia ago. The landmass became aptly named Whale Island due to its semblance of a giant whale emerging from the water. Whale Island’s signature landmark is a dormant volcanic crater that formed a lake resembling a blowhole. The reservoir is supported by a Hydro-Electric Dam which supplies renewable clean energy to the bustling Pieli Harbor and Seaside City on the coast; a place renowned for its tourism and resorts. On the island’s farthest point, waterfalls cascade over an eroded cliff side onto a sinkhole below giving off the appearance of a whale’s fluke rising out of the water. An ancient structure constructed by the island's original inhabitants lies beneath the sea basin.
Ampere Beach: The largest stretch of coastal sand in all of Fizzytopia, Ampere Beach is famed for its sand, which contains a mild electrical current that soothes the body. This charge is the result of the high salinity content, combined with the naturally high electricity from the central region, providing an insulating ground for the static. As a result, the beach is often used in therapeutics, evident at the resort in Seaside City. Bioluminescent algae causes the waves to glow a vibrant blue at night, one of the most breathtaking sights in all of Fizzytopia.
The Fizzific Ocean. It had been years since most trainers had set foot on certain islands located here, and mere months for others. Now that all of them had been officially recognized within the same body of water, however, it was clear that people were flocking to the various isles, mostly to see them for themselves. In Hyrem's case, it was a visit out of nostalgia, and only one land mass here would be a fitting location to return to: Whale Island.
Back where Sera had her first battle. Back where he witnessed his first evolution in one of his Pokemon. Back where he caught Delilah. Back where he would see (and battle) a Legendary Pokemon for the first time. Yeah. He's done things. All on his first real adventure.
"Wow, you really saw a Kyogre? How big was it? Was it really scary?" a Gallade was asking a Lanturn.
"Hehe, calm down, Brian!" giggled Delilah. "And yes, it was really big, and really scary too, especially as a little Chinchou! I thought it was going to eat me at one point too!"
As his Pokemon talked, Hyrem sat in the sand, his shoes off so he could actually feel the warmth of the tiny grains of sand and the gentle pulse of electricity in his toes. Man, it's really been a long time since I set foot here, he thought. So many memories... He looked around, thankful there weren't any stubby "palm trees" in sight. He then looked out to the sea; maybe he would see Kyogre again? Hopefully it would be a lot friendlier than the last encounter...
"All right, let's go for a walk! Delilah, return!" The Lanturn was drawn back into her Lure Ball as both Hyrem and his Gallade stood up, brushing the sand off their feet before the trainer put his shoes back on. "Let's go explore this beach a bit, though we should probably steer clear of the short, stubby palm trees; those aren't always trees here, and your mom and I learned that the hard way!"
"Gallade!" Brian nodded before walking beside Hyrem, both of them looking for what would be of interest next.
Danny's plan didn't work. Although the Wishiwashi seemed mesmerized with the fishing rod's lure at first, as Danny lowered the beaker towards the pool, trying to look as non-threatening and as peaceful as possible, Wishiwashi watched Danny try to uncork the beaker, and its eyes narrowed as it shot a second jet of cold, blue water at Danny, making him stumble backwards again and drop the beaker, which was luckily caught by a quick Vine Whip shot by Fleur, her red eyes sharpening with hate at the Wishiwashi. Danny, wiping the water from his face with the back of his arm, took the beaker from Fleur, the Ivy Pokemon handing it to her trainer diligently.
"Well, the pacifist approach didn't work." Danny said, as Fleur's tail began swaying again. "I guess we have to go on the attack. But let's think about this." Danny thought for a moment while a plan formed in his mind. "Alright! Fleur, grab Wishiwashi with a Vine Whip, and don't let go! Puffles, take the beaker, and go get the sample we need. Don't be afraid to Splash in the water if you need to! Fleur should be able to keep Wishiwashi distracted!"
Danny reached into the backpack and then pulled out a Pokeball. Staring down at the red ball, he then looked to his Pokemon, who were preparing to attack, Fleur taking a jump at the Wishiwashi's pool, ready to extend her Vine Whips, and Puffles waddling for another angle at the pool. He concentrated on the Wishiwashi, waiting for the perfect moment to capture it.
Wishiwashi completely ignored Fleur and Danny and instead opted to follow Puffles with its eyes and body, turning completely around from both Danny and Fleur.
NOW! Now was the perfect time to strike! Without a moment's hesitation, Fleur lept into action and trapped and grappled with the Wishiwashi with Vine Whip. This caused the Wishiwashi to struggle and cry out pretty loudly, and the water below started to bubble with movement, and from your line of sight farther down within the pool was the rest of the school starting to swim up to help the trapped mate. Puffles managed to tip the beaker into the water and called out triumphantly letting you know that the beaker was indeed filled.
You then tossed your Pokeball at the lone Pokemon ensnared by your partner's vines and it activated without fail.
Fleur let her vines retreat as the Pokeball dropped to the ground.
Wriggle,...
Wriggle,.....
WOOOOOOOOSH!!!!
The Wishiwashi School reached the top of the pool and spewed out at an alarmingly fast rate and with an alarming size, grabbing the Pokeball and tossing it up in the air where it struck the Pokeball with a hard Tail made of Water, cracking the Pokeball and causing the fail-safe to activate, releasing the Pokémon with inside.
Crap.
You angered the school, failed to capture the wishiwashi... but you did fill the beaker up with the pool's water... You maybe had a split moment to decide what to do before the Wishi School either left or attacked you... So what will you do?
Danny's plan seemed to work perfectly at first. Although the Wishiwashi seemed more concerned about Puffles than about Danny and Fleur, this was the perfect opportunity to strike without warning - and strike Fleur did, her green vines shooting from her sides and wrapping around the small fish Pokemon, trapping the Wishiwashi. Puffles discreetly went for the sample while Danny threw a Pokeball at the flailing fish, who seemed to be swimming up quite the storm - the water was bubbling beneath it.
The Pokeball hit without fail, and Fleur unraveled her vines as the Wishiwash was zapped into the ball. Puffles waddled back to Danny's side, holding a now filled beaker and handing it over to her trainer, as the Pokeball shook once, twice...
"Yes.." Danny said, but he had no idea his hopes would soon be dashed.
A Wishiwashi School burst from within the water, causing water to splash in all directions and leaving Danny and his Pokemon very confused. The Wishiwashi tossed the ball into the air and smacked with an Aqua Tail, causing the ball to shatter and release the lone Wishiwashi inside, allowing it to join its Wishiwashi brethren.
"Crap." Danny said under his breath. He had the sample. He also had a giant fish waiting to probably kill him. He grabbed a Pokeball from his belt and tossed it upwards, releasing a Pidgey. "Alright, Hermes, take this beaker and fly in that direction," Danny said, pointing in the way they had come, "And hand it over to the scientist waiting there, you can't miss him!" The Pidgey nodded, and, clasping the beaker in his talons, shot off in the direction of the scientist.
"Now, the onslaught!" Danny said, and threw up one more Pokeball, releasing a skittish Joltik.
"Fleur, Leaf Storm! Puffles, Pound! Joltik, Electroweb!"
Fleur jumped in the air and spun her tail, causing a maelstrom of leaves to collect, then directed it as the Wishiwashi. Puffles shot forward at the Wishiwashi's side. Joltik shot a web that was electrically charged directly in Wishiwashi's face.
CrazyCreeperKid Update
Hermes took the flask from Puffles and started speeding as fast as its wings could flap to the scientist who originally enlisted you to do this task. From there you ordered your trio of Pokémon to strike.
The moves melded together in an epic display of teamwork, Fleur's leaves swirling and pushing Joltik's electrified webbing that it spewed from its tiny body slamming into the schooled fish Pokémon and pushing it down and allowing for Puffles to strike the schooled form in the side with a swift pounding strike from its curled ear.
Wishiwashi slammed hard into the side of the ice ( and somehow miraculously stayed formed together in its schooling form ) and gave a collective head shake, which... from this close of a view, made it look as if the giant school form literally had every scale rotate back and forth in place for a solid two seconds...
Then without any warning, it jumped up and fell back below the water, as you looked over the edge you could see the glow of the wishiwashi fade as it swam deeper and deeper into the black abyss of the water out of your sight.
Well, that was disappointing. Maybe you'd have another chance to snag that particular wishiwashi at another time here... Oh, hey...
did it drop something? Puffles picked up this odd item and brought it over to you. Upon closer inspection, this thing... looked like a broken piece of an electronic item of some sort... wires were sticking out of the side and it looked like it was torn rather forcibly in half... unless it was a smaller piece to something bigger?
Maybe if you brought this back to that scientist he might tell you what it was and what it was from.
Everything seemed to end up perfectly for once. Hermes immediately understood the task at hand and was already on his way, and the attacks Danny had ordered seemed to link up perfectly, the wind being churned up by Fleur's Leaf Storm pushing forward Buzz's Electroweb, the combo of super effective moves slamming the Wishiwashi at the same time, dealing quite the level of damage and confusing it, allowing Puffles to go in with her attack, slamming Wishiwashi in its side. The trio of attacks caused the Wishiwashi to flail about, hitting the side of the pool, and somehow still staying schooled. It was impressive and terrifying at the same time. The Wishiwashi school seemed to all shake their heads in unison, causing all of the School Form's "scales" to flip over. It was truly a mesmerizing sight.
Without warning, the Wishiwashi jumped into the air and dove back into the water, disappearing into the deep, shiny, blue abyss below. The school form's figure slowly disappeared from view, shrinking as it went.
"Aw man, I was hoping to catch that Wishiwashi, it seemed like a useful team member....Wait, what's that?" Danny spotted something floating in the pool, near the shore. Puffles, the most adept Splasher in the group, dove into the waters and obtained the item, delivering to her trainer.
"Looks like some kind of machinery....probably for the scientist. Let's get back to him, I hope Hermes made it there okay..." Danny handed the item to Buzz, who wrapped it in an Electroweb and dragged it alongside him - as the Electric type, he was the safest one to carry it. Fleur walked alongside Danny, and with that, the four headed back.
CCK Update!
With the Mysterious Machine part in tow, you set off back to the campsite you first encountered where the scientist was staying at.
Along the way, you noticed there was a sudden silence and a bit of a chill in the air... Pokemon that you once saw along in the pools seemed to have swum away... What was going on? Was there some kind of storm approaching?
At this point, Even Your Pokémon started to act strange. All three huddled up to you as close as they could and Buzz burrowed his way into the back of your hood. Ok, now things really were strange. As you stopped to look around real quick, a sudden and violent shaking occurred, Rocking you and your Pokémon back and forth as you struggled to maintain balance.
"Woah Watch it, Come on get over here quick!" suddenly behind you, you heard the old scientist call out to you. Turning around you saw Herme's perched on his shoulder for the time being, safe and sound which was a relief but the scientist motioned for you to hurry as he waved frantically.
As suddenly as it started, the violent quaking stopped... how odd? What even was that? Who or What caused that?
Your thoughts were soon cut short as you heard a multitude of roaring sounds that echoed loudly across the Basin. The sounds were so loud and frightful that your pokemon attempted to burrow even further into whatever hiding spot they could.
What struck you as odd... was that the sounds seemed to be coming from under the pools??
