Typhon's Depths Raid Battle 2: VS Gigantamax Drednaw
Gigantamax Boss Drednaw ★★★★★ Health Gauge: 100% Shields Up: 0 Status: N/A Raid Challengers:
As the trainers finished arriving and sent out their Pokemon, the Gigantamax Drednaw finished rising out of the water. The hulking behemoth bellowed a monstrous roar as it gazed down at its competitors. The dark red clouds circled overhead and Xander’s dynamax band began to glow as it filled with energy. Dynamax Initiative: TheKnightsFury, Grovyle

Brianna stared at the colossal craggy Chelydridae that stood in front of her and her Oddish. She looked around, seeing multiple different Pokemon, a Tangrowth, Dusknoir, Gallade (Brianna recognized these specific ones as she was from Sinnoh), then there was this reptilian Grass Pokemon that had some sort of energy seeping from it, similar to the energy coming from the Gigantamaxed Pokemon.
Oddish looked at her with a scared look, he didn't feel like he could even scrape the side of this Pokemon. Although Oddish and his battle partners had the clear advantage (given the grass types), it was still a super-sized Pokemon, which had a high resilience and a lot of hit points. "Alright, Oddish, quick, Razor Leaf!" Brianna commanded, as the Oddish Pokemon spun its head leaves like helicopter blades, them glowing a bright, radiant green, getting faster and faster till razor-sharp leaves flew from them, slicing through the air, heading straight for the Drednaw. Although this move had a low power of 55, it had a very high critical-ratio, which was sure to come in handy.

Leaving his gym in the hands of the trainers felt... difficult. But Isaac had to admit that a call to order that included an even more fearsome Gigantamax beast was pressing, and he would do anything in his power to stop the looming threat. The gigantic turtle slowly shook, rising out of the water with force as the red energy twisted around it's body. Isaac steeled himself, looking at the other trainers around him. Each had the same expression as him, fearful, yet determined to stand up to the monster in front of them. They needed to stop the creature in it's tracks, before it ruined the land around the gym.

Gigantamax Boss Drednaw ★★★★★ Health Gauge: 78% Shields Up: 0 Status: [Sp.Def -2, Sandstorm (5 Turns Left)] Raid Boss Attack Summary: Attack 1: Jaw Lock (80 BP) CCK, Oddish: 180 HPAttack 2: Blizzard (110 BP) Sandaa, Gallade: 190 HPAttack 3: Max Rockfall (150 BP) Median Dia, Tangrowth: 0 HPRaid Challengers:
Right off the bat the trainers and their Pokemon got to work on the massive Drednaw with their array of powerful grass attacks. The gigantic turtle did not appreciate the quad-effective attacks one bit, reeling backward a bit as it lost a sizeable amount of its health and its special defenses were dropped by the Dusknoir’s Seed Flare before it could even make a move. Suddenly enraged, the Drednaw blasted several of the Pokemon with a chilling Blizzard. It then slammed down on the Tangrowth with its Max Rockfall, crushing the vines and summoning a Sandstorm in the process. As the sand swept across the atoll, the residual damage took its toll on the Pokemon, especially Oddish, who succumbed to its injuries. With two Pokemon already down after one round, the energy glowing from Xander’s dynamax band faded as Leo’s began to glow. Dynamax Initiative: Lil’Twick, Comfey

Gigantamax Boss Drednaw ★★★★★ Health Gauge: 74% Shields Up: 5 Status: [Sp.Def -2, Sandstorm (4 Turns Left), Grassy Terrain (5 Turns Left), Stealth Rocks] Trainer Recovery Summary: Sandaa, Gallade: Drain Punch Sandaa, Gallade: 256 HPRaid Boss Attack Summary: Attack 1: Ice Fang (65 BP) Naru, Bellossom: 134 HPAttack 2: Body Slam (85 BP) Prof.Enigma, Sawsbuck: 290 HPAttack 3: G-Max Stonesurge (130 BP) Sandaa, Gallade: 61 HPRaid Challengers:
With some early casualties and the environmental conditions looking unfavorable, the trainers quickly pressed on with their attacks and attempted to set up some recovery. Wish Bellossom’s Grassy Terrain in place, the energy recovered from the lush grass that sprouted awkwardly from the sandy and rocky atoll seemed to offset the residual damage of the swirling gusts of sand that buffeted the Pokemon. Leo’s Comfey began to glow with Dynamax energy as the floral wreath grew larger and larger. Enraged, the Drednaw raised an array of shields, which Comfey and a couple others helped reduce by nearly half. Taking its turn to go on the offensive, Drednaw crushed down on Gallade with a devastating G-Max Stonesurge. Oddish and Tangrowth stood back up, ready to rejoin the fight. Dichromatia may not have been an experienced Raider herself, but having watched Loise' performance against the snorlax at the Springtide Isle equipped her with the awareness that massive monsters like this one packed quite a punch. A quick scan of the pokedex revealed that this one, a creature apparently known as a drednaw, was part Rock Type, and since Grass didn't resist attacks of that Type like it did Water, she figured that taking the time to set up a heal-over-time effect would be a wise decision.
Unfortunately, the massive seemed to think that Berue firmly planting herself into the ground was a jab at it's own limited mobility, and went feral on the poor tangrowth. It blasted her and the other pokemon around her with a wave of chilling, Blizzard-like winds, before dislodging a massive chunk of the shoals and slammed into her! In a matter of mere moments, one of Chroma's strongest pokemon was already out for the count! She was completely stunned by this development. How could this random tortoise possibly be so powerful? The pokedex had no issues with gathering data on the beast, so eas no way that they had accidentally enraged some sort obscure Legendary. And how was she supposed to help the others out now, when the League rules were very insistent that Trainers could only bring one pokemon with them?! The answer did not leave her waiting, as Berue pushed some rubble off of herself and stood back up. "You're alright! But how-" Chroma shook her head and refocused on the problem at hand. "No, we'll worry about that later. Let's not repeat our mistakes and go on the offensive this time!" ~ ~ ~ OOC: we're using Nature Power (becomes Energy Ball (90 BP) in Grassy Terrain; boosted by her held Miracle Seed. |
