Sector Sketch
Well, why not?
Spoiler: show "And Then There Were 10" An updated sketch of a concept I'd sketched some years back, now that my PASBL squad incorporates Generation V Pokemon. Last edited by Shadowshocker; 12-09-2011 at 11:35 PM. Reason: Added colour. |

Looks really good. I feel like Stinkfly should've been a Yanmega, but nonetheless, its good.

Another brief sketch in between... stuff. I've actually been having considerations for a PASBL squad based around characters from a certain recent Disney cartoon, but thanks to the incomplete list of Ben 10-themed 'mon, the news of an upcoming fourth series of Ben 10 and a lack of ability/time to ref, this new team will likely be relegated to random sketches since it seems unlikely I'll ever have space for a new squad. (Again, touchups/colouring to hopefully eventually come.)
Spoiler: show Pokemon appropriations are still subject to debate. I'm torn between Bidoof and Psyduck as Perry. |

In terms of expression, my style has always been somewhat rooted in huge-eyed cartoon characters; the way I started out sketching. General opinion notes that everything I draw turns out looking angry, furious, enraged, etc. Can't disagree there. I'll also be updating this thread periodically with ideas for actual PASBL submissions based around these guys, and releasing them for "public domain", as it were; you're free to submit their signature ideas and modify them, etc etc CC licensing rigmarole. For now, though, a couple more character sketches. (Waiting to be critiqued for user interface design projects is an absolute bore, especially when the laboratory software is incompatible with the software everyone's using.) I have to say those pictures are epic.
But, the Sunflora is creeping me out, maybe because it reminds me of Kush somehow. but, can't think of anybody to sub her in with.

Isabella being Sunflora is a reference to a Mystery Dungeon special where the Guild's Sunflora gets hearts in her eyes after falling victim to a Gabite's Attract. But Kirlia is certainly more practical (in the aesthetic sense, as well as in terms of PASBL practicality and pragmatism).
The guesses for Buford and Baljeet were essentially spot-on. It makes sense for Baljeet to be Abra, though I struggled between Machop and Makuhita for Buford. The former made sense since the two (Machop-Abra and Buford-Baljeet) are effectively counterparts of each other, but Makuhita looks more convincing given that Buford is pretty pudgy. I've decided, though, that Buford will be Makuhita, and Baljeet will be switched to Meditite. Both are pretty much frail and Middle Asian in inspiration. |

It might be opportune soon to compile a list of P&F 'mon.
In other news, some colouration has occurred, and the relevant post has been amended as such. |

I'll say it's been a while.
At one point I considered sketching random battle scenes based on league matches. The following is a reference to an ongoing match, and a bit of reminder that at some point I need a gym montage. "Madness?" Spoiler: show |

Vanessasary Roughness
Individuals unfamiliar with the following scene may wish to refer to the last seconds of this video, during the credits animation. I've been itching to do this as a comic but hopefully this will do for now.
Also, Absol being asymmetrical is a bit of a pain to draw from various angles. Spoiler: show |

The ShadowDex
At some point in 2007ish I participated in Pokemon Acanthite - one of the largest fakemon projects I've seen, though my participations were largely limited to naming 'mon and attacks. Now I'm no longer a part of that project (I'm not sure how strong they're going now since the project has seen the coming of two new generations) but somehow I've been spawning new 'mon ideas every now and then (some new, some reworked versions that attempt to be updated to GenV/don't have Acanthite stuff in them).

These ideas are amazing (not to mention the drawings are really good), but they seem much more awesome than normal Pokemon. Maybe too cool to fit in...
