As you approached the rose bushes covered in Scatterbug, their munching noises became audible. They were incredibly invested in their banquet of leaves and violet petals, and barely noticed you and your flapping partner. With a quick look, you estimated there was about twenty of the little bugs. While not an overwhelming number, you knew it wouldn’t be easy to complete the task you decide to take upon yourself.

While you were deep in thought about what to do next, the Scatterbug made their way up the bush, to where a large, fully bloomed rose stretched towards the sky. It was the last rose on the bush, and looked particularly delicious to the ravenous Bug Pokemon. One of the larger Scatterbug inched itself up the stalk of the rose, determined to be the first to taste the delectable petals. Before it could reach the flower, however, it was pulled down quickly by another of its kind. In a flurry of squeaks and what sounded like the Bug type version of a growl, a group of Scatterbug began to quarrel. The young Pokemon did not have many moves at their disposal, so the fight was consisted of weak Tackles and tangling each other up with String Shot.

You directed your Woobat to try to distract the Scatterbug before this squabble got any worse. Remilia flew close to the little bugs, trying to get their attention. She danced back and forth a bit, making herself as interesting as possible to as many of the bugs as she could. The Scatterbug that had yet to join the fight took notice of Remilia immediately. They opened their buck toothed mouths, mesmerized. Remilia flew a bit higher and away from the bush, and luckily, these Scatterbug followed. They were willing, for now, to follow whatever Remilia wanted them to do.

Though you had the attention of the majority of the swarm, there was still the issue of the wriggling pile of four still bickering. One had somehow got its tooth stuck in the back of another, causing the bitten Scatterbug to squeak in pain. You also noticed a small, lone bug making its way back up to the tall rose, taking advantage of those distracted by fighting.

The two gemstones settled on the paper you placed. They went along quite nicely with the other offerings placed at the foot of the largest and tallest rock at the shrine. The top of the boulder was surrounded by a shimenawa, a rope with white, zigzagged rice paper attached to it, meant to bring cleansing to the area. As the sun set, the many rocks surrounding the shrine created long shadows, and everything was bathed in an orange hue.

You and Julian continued to walk through the shrine area, the Passimian trailing behind you a bit, tossing his ball-like berry into the air. The black and white Pokemon was immersed again in the game he had created for himself, seeing how high he could get it in the air.

CRACK! The sudden noise of something hard hitting rock startled you. You looked back at your Pokemon, who had a wide-eyed, guilty looking face. His signature berry seemed to be missing. You gave him a disapproving look, but Julian simply shrugged. Hesitantly, you turned to assess the damage your Pokemon’s keepsake had done. You spotted the berry at the foot of a large statue of a Rock-type Pokemon. You looked over the statue’s clawed paws, hoping the hard-shelled berry hadn’t caused too much damage to what was surely a prized statue. It was certainly well made, created out of some kind of red stone that looked a lot like fur. As you examined the backside of the statue, also incredibly realistic, you heard a low growl. A startled yelp came from your Passimian as the statue moved. You found yourself stepping back in surprise as a white maned head turned towards you, baring sharp fangs.

“ルガルガン!” A girls voice called from the distance. The Pokemon’s floppy ears perked up and it turned away from you. It leapt off the rock it was perched on, and bounded its way over to a small girl that was heading towards you. It almost knocked her over as it placed its large front claws on her shoulders. The girl giggled as the excited Rock-type licked her face. As she got closer, you saw that this girl wore the traditional red and white of a shrine maiden. She raised a hand to you in a friendly wave.

“こんばんは, good evening,” she gave a slight bow. “My name is Ishi Madoka, welcome to the Stone Shrine, Trainer. I see you’ve already met Lulu.” She gave the Midnight forme Lycanroc a scratch on the head. “I’m the trial captain here, if you’d like to pass on to the falls, you’ll have to pass my trial as well as the one in Cloud Forest. Were you interested in the trial? You’ll have two options, taking the trial now as night falls, or in the morning when it’s light out.” She smiled, waiting patiently for your answer.

Your Pokemon seem thrilled at your choice to investigate the scent they found incredibly enticing. Your Nidorina giddily increased her speed, Sandshrew close behind. The two already seemed to be having a good time, looking forward to what you might all discover together.

Following the scent led you to an isolated area of the garden, surrounded by matching hedges of Pidgeot, scarlet and yellow roses creating its long, feathery crest. Though these roses smelled great, it wasn’t the scent you were on the hunt for. Your Pokemon had gotten quite far ahead from you, but you saw a yellow scaled tail disappear around the corner of a hedge.

You slowly peeked around the corner, not wanting to disturb whatever you might be happening upon. Your attention was drawn to a slightly transparent pink cloud in the center of a group of red and blue dancing roses. The cloud was emanating from a large, orange spotted mushroom, slightly buried in the earth.

“Lia lia LIA!” The grass type Pokemon chanted as they danced back and forth. You spotted your Nidorina and Sandshrew within the circle, somehow they had integrated themselves into this strange ritual. They too chanted, “Nido Nido” and “Sand Sand” being a pretty good accompaniment. All the Pokemon brought hands into the air, shaking them like Pom-Pom style Oricorio. Suddenly, you felt the ground shake slightly. The orange mushroom began to rise from the ground, small chunks of dirt falling off of it. Similarly colored legs freed themselves from the ground, two large pincers reaching upwards. Once the mushroom was completely freed, its blank white eyes looked, seeming unable to focus on anything. That wasn’t the end of it, though, as smaller mushrooms began to sprout up from the ground.

“Pa…..rasect….” The mushroom announced, and the grass types as well as your Pokemon cheered in response. It pointed one of its pincers at the Pokemon in front of it, then gestured down to the smaller mushroom. The Roselia obeyed immediately, and plucked the mushroom out of the ground before beginning to gobble down on it. You saw the change immediately, its black eyes glazed over to white, matching the leading Parasect. Its body doubled over at its waist, then it straightened again, stretching its arms out infront of it and letting out a small groan. By now, the Parasect had gone on to the next Roselia in a circle, commanding it to consume the next mushroom. As good as it still smelled, this didn’t look good, and it was getting close to your Nidorina and Sandshrew’s turn in the circle.

However, Mio the Pikachu decided to take control of the situation and leapt into the fray to try and play mediator. She quickly ran up to the Pancham, telling it in her own Pokemon language that it was time to Play Nice and stop being so mean to the Stufful.

The Pancham was taken aback, confused by the sudden newcomers, but putting up its best front, it grumpily Leered at Mio. “Cham! Cham!” it retorted in its own language, stepping forward and pushing Mio back with a series of three Arm Thrusts. In his best effort to assist his teammate, Kei the Charmander joined the battle and blew out a Smokescreen, hoping that the lack of visibility would deescalate the situation.

Unfortunately for Kei, his entrance to the skirmish seemed to intimidate the Stufful, who was under the impression that even more Pokemon came to fight it. In an act of self-defense, it Tackled Kei from the side, knocking the Charmander over. The look in its eye showed that Stufful wasn’t going to back down in this fight-over-flight stance and the battle had turned into a three-way battle royal. The Pancham began to Leer at Mio once again before it prepared to use another Arm Thrust while the Stufful Leered at Kei and began to Bide its time.
Patches was completely shocked. She had been running in to scoop the two cubs up into a tight hug and now it looks like everyone is fighting. “Wh-what just happened?? I just don’t understand...” She just stands there watching everything go down while being completely dumbfounded. It is all happening so fast that she just isn’t able to figure out what it is she should be doing in this situation.

Meanwhile, Mio had been shoved back and it's now official that the little Pancham has picked a fight with the wrong Pokemon. Mio has always been very headstrong and is also used to keeping all of Patches other Pokemon in line so this is nothing new to her. She gives the Pancham a fierce look and lets out a Growl. She wastes no time and follows that up with a Thunder Punch to the face and figures that should be enough to show the Pancham that he really needs to Play Nice.

Of course, there is even more drama going down nearby. Kei was tackled to the ground and got covered in dirt and then proceeded to get leered at. He begins to have tears stream down his face because all he was trying to do was help. He stands up and looks at the Stufful while still crying and decides he is going to stand his ground but he will not fight. He remembered how much it pained him to see the Stufful getting bullied so he knows he can’t fight him now. He just hopes that the Stufful will see that he is being sincere about not wanting to fight.

The enthusiasm Glasspine and Tori possessed certainly helped raise Alex's spirits more than they already were, the pair darting off ahead of him as he followed. Shortly, he found himself in a more isolated section of the gardens, which held some impressive topiary hedge sculptures of Pidgeot, with whoever designed them being meticulous in colour choice as red and yellow roses streaked down the back and head, in a demonstration of innovative design in giving the illusion of feathers. The scent still grew, though, and as he recalled this, he turned to another hedge to see a scaly tail zip behind it.

Creeping close so as not to disturb whatever the source was, he peeked around the corner to find a rather serene sight. The pink cloud floated around a group of red and blue flowers Alex recognised as Roselia, which certainly were known for their aromatherapy, as well as a large spotted mushroom sunken in the earth producing the cloud, which set off alarm bells in the trainer's mind. Mushrooms of that size only come from one thing...

As he continued watching the spectacle, he spotted two non-plant pokemon dancing, two very familiar ones, seemingly oblivious to the situation. As far as the pair were concerned, this seemed like some meetup dance and they were enjoying themselves, even as the large mushroom shook and popped up from the ground amid cheers, before a number of smaller mushrooms sprouted, the Parasect still maintaining the cloud.

Pointing one of its hefty pincers at one of the Roselia, then to a mushroom, the blank-eyed bug seemed to be ordering the plants to consume the fungi. Alex watched, concern growing then confirming as the Roselia munched on the mushroom, only for its black eyes to glaze over white like the large bug, flopping over momentarily then rising once more, flowery arms outstretched with a small groan, before the insect pointed to another Roselia, turning around as it did. It was clear to Alex that this Parasect's mushroom was bad news, and with Tori and Glasspine still in the circle, the inset closing in, he knew intervention was necessary, and that the bug would likely turn hostile from the intrusion...unless...

Alex stepped out from behind the hedge quietly, before giving a small wave to the Roselia and his two pokemon before giving a call out.

"Great dancing you've got there, Glass," he cried out to the Sandshrew, "but I think you can do better. Why not show these Roselia how to whirl with a rapid spin before displaying some of your swagger to the interested ones, then really give them some excitement with a double team! Tori, show that Parasect some proper appreciation for that trick by confiding to it something to get his attention, then disable that mushroom's nice smell so you can show it your own toxic concoction! Don't worry about the smaller mushrooms, there's better things in the garden to try like berries, and they won't make you into a zombie!"

Alex hoped that his two pokemon would listen despite the smell, as it was clear this Parasect had ulterior motives behind its lure, given the parasitic nature of the mushroom on the back. He was pretty sure Rapid Spin would dissipate the scent and show the Roselia what sort of fiend they were up against, as it appeared there was trouble in paradise...

Stepping into the thick of the Cloud Forest, Hiero couldn’t help but be taken in by the sheer beauty of the landscape. Massive trees, standing tall and proud like skyscrapers, surrounded him making him almost feel small and insignificant in comparison. It was a tranquil kind of quiet as Hiero wandered down the slightly noticeable path; only the sounds of a gentle breeze rustling the leaves above, a few birds chirping, and the occasional bug noises filled the air.

Opting to sightsee various wild Pokemon in their natural habitat, Hiero slowly but surely began to spot and recognize several different species of Pokemon along the way. A lone Weedle inched its way up a tree. A patch of grassy Oddish leaves grew out of the dirt while the bodies rested underground. A nest of Taillow chirped up in the threes. For the most part, these species were all fairly common and the Pokemon appeared to be comfortably at home.

It was a few moments later that Hiero heard a new sound. A scratching noise, coming from the trees up ahead. Heading in that direction, he spotted a large blue shell in the near distance. It was a Heracross, scratching bark off a tree with its large elaborate horn so it could suck on the sap beneath. It didn’t seem fazed by Hiero’s presence, focused on its meal instead. With its natural defenses, this beetle had little to fear in this environment. It was up to Hiero now, whether he wanted to get closer or not.

The cool shade of the forest canopy offered Hiero refuge from the warmth of the brightly shining sun. The ground was slightly damp, and the smell of petrichor filled the air - it must have rained recently. To Hiero, this was the perfect weather. He was very much at peace. "This is too perfect to not share..." Hiero thought. He spotted a small boulder near a tree and decided to sit for a moment, pulling out a Pokeball from his pack, and taking in his surroundings.

Some Oddish that had planted themselves in the ground were growing quietly, absorbing the nutrients of their environment in order to grow. The intrusive thought did briefly cross Hiero's mind that he could, perhaps, attempt to capture the Oddish in their vulnerable state, but ultimately he decided to let them be. He sighed, twisted the Pokeball in his hands, and opened the latch to reveal his young Mareanie, which manifested onto a patch of dirt in front of him. Suddenly, Hiero had an idea.

"Well, good afternoon, Tomoko," Hiero greeted. The Mareanie yawned and smiled at its trainer cordially. "How would you like to join me on an adventure today?"

Tomoko's eyes widened and she grinned. "Ma!"

"Well, I have a feeling you must be hungry - how about some leftover Springtime chocolate?" Hiero reached into his bag and retrieved six chocolates and two Rare Candies. The Mareanie tilted her head curiously. Hiero unwrapped the candies and extended the palm of his hand. The Mareanie inched closer to the candies, and then proceeded to eat them.

(Tomoko grew to Level 13! Tomoko learned Bite and Toxic Spikes!)

Tomoko raised two of her front tentacles happily and bounced in place, energized and happily filled from the snack. Hiero smiled. Suddenly, an odd noise started emanating from just down the dirt path. It sounded like a loud, echoing scratching. Hiero stood up, now alert at what he was hearing. He motioned quietly for his Mareanie to follow, which she did.

It wasn't long before the two saw something that stuck out among the earthy nature of the forest. Grappled onto the trunk of a wide tree up ahead was a fairly sizable, blue beetle-type creature, with a large horn that seemed to be the source of the ruckus. It was rubbing its horn against the tree bark furiously, extracting the sap from inside, and eating it. Hiero immediately recognized the Pokemon to be a Heracross.

"Tomoko," Hiero whispered. "This is the moment we've been waiting for - your first opportunity for a real battle!" The Mareanie looked at its trainer and grinned, and nodded. It remained quiet. "Here's what we're going to do; I'm not sure it will work, but it's worth a shot. We're going to get a bit closer - and I want you to quietly lay a trap of Toxic Spikes underneath of the trunk where it's situated. It will almost certainly not notice - it's too busy trying to drink the sap from within the tree. Given that we only just started to hear this noise, from the sound of things, it's only just begun extracting its meal. That alone should suffice as enough of a distraction, at which point..." Hiero reached into his backpack and pulled out the bunny suit that he had received during the Springtime event, and fastened it around his Mareanie.

"...at which point I want you to launch yourself into the air above it and come down on it hard with a mighty Peck attack! If this works out, and I think it will, it should fall into the Toxic Spikes you had set under the tree. If you get the chance, follow up with another Peck any time you see an opening!"

Tomoko nodded, clearly excited at her first chance to battle - a Heracross at that. The two quietly approached a tree near the Heracross and hid behind it, preparing to engage...

The boundary of the foothills lies at the Starline Falls, a giant waterfall that cascades down from the incline above.

Starline River: A calm river that flows down from the mountain and passes by the village on its way to the lake. The water is crystal clear in the shallower areas, darker in the deeper center. The river makes a great place for picnics and for those who enjoy fishing. (Please reply in skyblue)
Compared to her old surroundings, the Starline River was like its own paradise. The sound of rushing water was refreshing, the aroma of the distant rose garden drifted on a cooling summer breeze. Blades of grass rustled beneath human and Pokemon feet, a soft chime of baby sing-song accompanying the squawks of birds and ruffling of tree and brush.

Mimi, the Mime Jr, hadn't even been out of the adoption centre one month, but she was enjoying their trip very much. It was her first real adventure, and what a location it was, the Cloud Garden! Alice had been contemplating visiting it for the long haul, gossiping about how the legends of a deity might help 'figure herself out', of how the trials sounded intriguing and how in general it sounded like a beautiful place to visit. Sure, she was hardly the toughest little cookie around, but Mimi had not wanted to be left behind and would have worried about her human terribly. What if she got hurt? Alice's stories often involved some kind of clumsy twist or brief tragedy to overcome, after all.

“You okay, pretty girl?” Blue eyes peered down through designer glasses, and the Pokemon beamed up. She was an odd colour like most of the team, more common blue replaced by bright, shimmering greens. In the light of day, Mimi's entire form sparkled like the surface of the river they followed. “Good to know. Okay, I'm getting warm, let's stop for a bit.”

The blonde sat down, pulling off white trainers and thin socks to dip her feet into the clear water. She splashed her legs, bare up until the trim of fraying denim shorts, most of Alice's torso on show in a wrapped bustier cropped top. A bow was tied into it, the end hanging down close to her belly button, and both bracelet and earrings complimented the theme colour. Mimi danced over to Alice's lap, and the Pokemon giggled as her tummy was tickled and her trainer dipped her in and out of the cooling water.

“Here, a snack to keep us going.” Her sugars always bottled it in the heat, and she knew that the walking wasn't going to help. Alice treated Mimi to some berries while she opened a large carton of smooth orange juice, kept cool by the cool bag slotted into the biggest section of her backpack. Mimi cooed her gratitude, hugged comfortably close in one dainty arm as they both admired the Cloud Garden around them. When Mimi had mimicked that small human that day, she hadn't realised that she had charmed her way to such a perfect partnership, and she would not take it back for the world.

Sypher eyed Julian as he walked to retrieve the wayward ball. "What the hell man? I though we were packing it in for the day!" He reached the stricken statue and began searching it splits and chips. Eyeing the claws of the statue, he noticed the intricate work that made the crimson stonework appear to have fur. Not noticing any blemishes he move towards the back examining the spikes around the torso. "Well, it doesn't look like it was hurt. It does kinda smell though. Ah, here's you berry. Catch!" He tossed the berry to Julian just as a subtle growl emanated from the statue. "Hmm?" Sypher
blinked slightly confused. "Was that you, Julian?" He then heard Julian shriek. "Okay, that was you," he said walking slowly away from what had become increasingly clear wasn't a statue.

As he moved, the maw of a Midnight Lycanroc meet his with bared fangs. "Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean to bother you! I didn't mean to call you a piece of stonework, not that you wouldn't be a good one if you were.... I ... I..." Sypher felt the old bite marks from years ago tingle on his arm. He thought back to the time that a Houndoom had bitten him with a Fire Fang. The bite marks had been cauterized open by the fire, and true to everyone's fears, the numbing sensation of the burns never faded. He braced himself for the worst.

Then he heard a faint voice. Lowering his guard he noticed that the Lycanroc now stood behind a small, dark hair girl. He pondered who it was before she offered her greetings.

"Oh, you're the trial captain! It is a pleasure to meet you! my name is Sypher!" Sypher said returning her bow before offering his hand. She then inquired if he wished to partake in the shrine's challenge either tonight or in the morning. He chuckled lightly before replying. "ちょと ... 私わ4つ持っていない" and he held out a Quickball and a Pokeball, in his left and right hands repectively. "I would likely lose even if it were a fair fight. This one here belongs to Julian," He raised the Quickball up slightly, "who should really get to apologizing. The other one is for my Noibat, Jill. I'm not really here for the trial, I'm actually out looking for some gemstone. Aquamarine and other Beryl's to be precise. We were just turning in for the evening. Would it be alright if we stay at the cabin here?"

The sound of your voice calling out to your Pokemon did not seem to faze those involved in the ritual. However, you saw your Sandshrew’s ears twitch slightly at the mention of his name. He still seemed to be quite fixated on the Parasect leader, who was directing the next Roselia in line. Glasspine’s eyes were intently focused on the orange mushroom in the Roselia’s flowered hands, following it from the ground to the Grass type’s mouth.

“…double team!” The yellow Pokemon snapped to attention at the mention of the move. He looked around, unsure of how he had gotten to where he was. He noticed you, a look of relief washing over his face. Although he had missed your previous instructions, he wasn’t ready to let you down. Glasspine jumped away from the circle to start his attack. He began moving quickly, gradually increasing in speed, which made some of the Roselia’s heads turn. The Sandshrew reached top speed, and the watching Roselia were shocked at the illusory copies that appeared. The Parasect seem to falter a bit from the distraction, but ordered the Roselia to finish eating the mushroom. Glasspine began to slow down, the illusory copies fading from view. He looked towards you, expectantly, for the next instruction. Instead, he heard you call out to your other partner, Tori. She seemed to be still deeply influenced by the Parasect’s scent. Although you did see her ears twitch at the mention of her name, it didn’t seem to be enough.

“Sand!! Sandshrew!!” Glasspine called, shaking the Nidorina back and forth to try to get her out of the trance. Tori merely wobbled back and forth with the Sandshrew’s pushing, her eyes still looking glazed-over. Glasspine worriedly shook her again, and looked towards you, feeling helpless as she began to lean over to pick the next mushroom.

BraveSaix:

“日本語は上手ですわね!” The trial captain placed a hand over her mouth and giggled again. Lulu panted a bit and wagged her tail, taking joy in her trainer’s happiness. “You are of course welcome to stay the night, we have plenty of space for traveling trainers. I just finished up with dinner, so you are welcome to that too!”

Glad to have a safe place to rest your heads, you followed Madoka to the cabin, which was settled snugly under a large outcropping of rock. A Lunatone floated slightly above the ground outside the door of the cabin, acknowledging you with a resonating “Luu…” Madoka gave it a soft pat, this must be one of her Pokemon as well.

She opened the door for you, and you were greeted by warmth and the smell of something savory. You could see that your Passimian’s mouth was already watering. A long wooden table was in the center of the front room, six matching stools surrounding it. A large pot of something steaming sat in the middle. One seat was taken by a large man with a strikingly red beard. He gave you a friendly nod as you sat at one of the stools, and slid a bowl your direction.

“Evenin’ traveler,” he greeted. You peered into the pot on the table and discovered it was filled with chowder, large chunks of potato and carrot floating on the top. After serving you and your Pokemon some, Madoka took a spot at the table. The three of you enjoyed the meal, Madoka and the man mostly chatting about the weather, the area, and what kind of Pokemon they thought needed more suppor. As you finished the last chunk of potato in your bowl, the man asked you a question directly.

“So what brings you here, young’un?” There were bits of chowder stuck in his beard, but he didn’t seem to notice. “I didn’t see you around for my trial”

“No, he told me that he was looking for some stones in the area,” Madoka answered for you. “Beryls, right?”

“Heh heh, luckily you’ve found the best darn miner around,” the man heartily chuckled. Madoka blushed and waved her hand frantically.

“Samuel, you know I’m just an apprentice. おばあさん was so much better than I’ll ever be.” Madoka said as she began clearing the dishes from the table. “Sypher-san, if you’d like, I’d be happy to show you some places where those gemstones will probably be. Although it might be fun to do some adventuring on your own!” She let out a short yawn. “Let me know in the morning though, ok? Your room is the last one on the right.”

Alright guys, thanks for being patient. Here's some updates, fresh off the press!

Jerichi:
It was a bright and sunny day in the Rose Garden, where all of the flowers were healthy and showing off their exquisite colors. All except for one. Spotting the frail and defenseless Budew sapling withering beneath the blanket of Sunfloras that were hogging up all of the sunlight and nutrients, Lucas took pity and sprang into action. He knelt down next to the little sprout, to appear less imposing on its level and offered to find a better location for it and maybe even some water to make it feel better.

What Lucas didn’t realize was that by getting close to the Budew, he was also getting close to a few of the Sunkern saplings. As he did so, a few of the nearest Sunflora averted their gaze from the sunlight above and stared down at him. They didn’t too pleased to say the least. The largest Sunflora of the bunch swished its leafy arm and fired a warning shot at Lucas; a Razor Leaf that intentionally missed him and stuck out of the gravel-covered walking path like a ninja throwing star.

Tending to Budew’s needs might be trickier than Lucas initially thought. For now, it seemed like the Sunfloras were very protective of their saplings, and Budew was included in that bunch for some reason. Budew looked up at Lucas nervously, shaking in its roots while the Sunfloras got in a defensive stance. Lucas might try to negotiate with the Sunflora, but they might not be willing to listen to reason right now. Alternatively, it might be worthwhile to investigate other parts of the garden and find out why Budew is there to begin with.

AshsBabyLapras:
Having seen Munna’s nightmarish vision of a distraught friend who was missing their wooden stick, ABL roused from her nap with a newfound resolve to help. She commended Munna on her loyalty to her friend and offered to carry the sticks they find for her. Munna let out a relieved sigh before bouncing up and down, overjoyed. “Muu! Muu!” she called out as ABL asked her to take them to her friend.

With that, the excited little tapir darted off down the hill, leaving ABL and Daffodil to hurry after her. It wasn’t until it got to the top of the next hill over that it realized it was leaving its benefactors behind and slowed down a bit. Letting ABL and Daffodil catch their breaths, Munna continued forward. The three of them walked for about half a mile before they approached another hill with a tree on it.

Making it to the top of the hill, ABL could see that there was already an assembled bundle of similar-looking sticks, but it was in complete disarray. Munna sadly pointed to the empty tree, indicating from the dream she showed ABL that the friend had wandered off somewhere. Looking around, Daffodil was sniffing at some sticks that were further away from the rest of the bundle, as if they had been dragged away from the pile. It’s very likely that the friend had pulled them away from the bundle but then discarded them before wandering off. The clutter of sticks seem to be pointing in a general direction toward the north, but die off at the end of the hill. Up ahead on the horizon is a larger cluster of trees, possibly the edge of the Cloud Forest. What will ABL do?

Patches:
Watching the two cub Pokemon battle it out with her Mio and Kei, Patches was torn. She had hoped for a peaceful mediation, but things don’t always go that smoothly. She watched as Mio duked it out with the feisty little Pancham while Kei reluctantly held his ground against the panicked Stufful.

Mio frowned at the Pancham bully was unrelenting in its stance that fighting was better than talking. She let out a fierce Growl, or as fierce as a Pikachu can get, while the Pancham Leered back in defiance, his icy glare matching Mio’s battle cry. Mio then charged into battle, her paw crackling with electricity as she threw a Thunder Punch at Pancham’s face. It was a clean hit, and the small panda winced as it connected, but it did not deter him from countering the hit with four quick Arm Thrusts to Mio’s side. As the two Pokemon squared off, they both panted, trying to catch their breaths. Mio continued her stance that Pancham needs to Play Nice, and the Pancham grit his teeth as his motivation faltered just a little bit. He wasn’t ready to give up just yet, however.

Meanwhile, Kei stared at the Stufful, both of them seemingly in tears as they squared off begrudgingly. Kei preferred to not fight the battered Stufful who in return was only trying to defend itself. The Stufful Leered at Kei to show that it wouldn’t back down, and then it began to Bide its time, waiting for Kei to attack it. However, that attack didn’t come as Kei stood there in an attempt to show his sincerity. Seeing its chance, Stufful switched from fight to flight mode and took off down the hill and toward a small cluster of trees.

Patches faced a decision now. She could either chase after the Stufful, but that might leave Mio in a pinch as the Pancham was preparing itself to unleash two more sets of Arm Thrusts. On the other hand, she could try to finish things off here quickly and then hope to find the Stufful afterward.

Deoxys:
As Hiero strolled through the Cloud Forest, the weather was so nice that he felt inclined to share it with one of his newest additions, Tomoko the Mareanie. A little bit out of her element, Tomoko smiled anyway as Hiero presented his crown of thorns starfish with a hearty snack consisting of candies and chocolates. Tomoko gladly chowed down, feeling much stronger as a result. It wasn’t until then that the two heard a scratching noise in the forest nearby.

Deciding to go check it out, the two came across a Heracross that was feeding on some tree sap. Seeing the situation as the perfect opportunity to get Tomoko some battle experience, Hiero quickly made some battle preparations and whispered some commands to his Pokemon. Tomoko started things off by shooting a layer of Toxic Spikes on the ground underneath where the Heracross was feeding. Hiero then pulled out a small Bunny Suit and places it on Tomoko in such a way that her legs stick out of it without being obstructed.

Channeling her inner rabbit, Tomoko springs into action by pushing off the ground with her many legs and bounces high into the air before slamming into Heracross with a Peck from the spike on top of her head. The blow certainly caught Heracross off guard, who fell off the tree and onto the Toxic Spikes below, just as planned. The poison seemed to take effect as the Heracross let out a pained and angry cry. However, Heracross’ Gutsy resolve refused to back down as it pumped itself up with adrenaline.

Heracross turned to face Tomoko, ramming her with a powerful Horn Attack to show off its Guts before Leering at her with an icy glare that sent shivers down her spine, if she had one. Tomoko winced, but she retaliated with a Merciless Peck that knocked the Heracross backwards. Preparing its next move, Heracross’ wing flaps on its back loosened as it prepared to use Aerial Ace, followed by another Horn Attack. Both Pokemon were in prime situations to deal some hard damage to their opposition but take a lot of damage in return. This might be a fight to see who’s defenses give out first.

"A miner, priestess, and a cook?! You, miss, are quite a talented girl!" Sypher said smiling as Madoka yawned. "I'll let you know what I've decided in the morning. Have a restful sleep. Jill. Julian. Let's start getting ready for bed. Hand me your helmet Julian and I'll clean it out for you. In the mean time, you two go on to the room."

As the Noibat and Passimian walked sluggishly to the back of the cabin, Sypher ran a bit of water to clean Julian's helmet. "I gotta give him props for resourcefulness, using this thing for a bowl. I just wish he would try and clean it after he does though. He hates when I have to fix the his gunked up hair." He set the coconut shell in the drainer to air dry over night before he himself caved into his exhaustion and stumble in to a bedroom.

Alex was officially worried. His calls appeared to be falling on deaf ears as both Glasspine and Tori were under the aromatic trance, the Sandshrew focused on the mushroom in the Roselia's...hands, so to speak. Alex knew inwardly he should have been a little more direct with commands rather than attempting to sway opinion, but to his mercy the ground type appeared to snap out of the stupor at the call of double team. Looking around, the shrew noticed Alex, relieved to see a familiar face after being in a trance, as Alex reciprocated the attention with a thumbs up.

Taking the call, the mouse began to dart around swiftly, creating illusive copies of himself in attempts to distract. It seemed to have some effect, the trainer noticed, as the Roselia appeared shocked at the events and even the Parasect hesitated a little, but alas it was for naught as the insect motioned towards the Roselia currently feeding and urged to to finish, the grass type too falling under the effects of the fungus. Looking back at Alex, Glasspine waited for the next order, but Alex could only give him a shrug as he called to the Nidorina, whose much larger ears twitched, but didn't come out of the trance. Growing even more concerned, the Sandshrew called at her, shaking her about, but to no avail, and what was most certainly worse, it appeared it was her turn for the mushroom, as the poison type reached out to pluck it...

Alex wasn't in a panic, however, but rather frustrated with himself. Was the lack of proper time spent with her the cause of the disobedience? No, certainly not, it had to do with that Parasect, and the mushroom that controlled it. He felt calling out to her wouldn't achieve much, and with time running out very quickly, it was only a case of drastic measures. Fortunately, he had a plan as he swung his backpack round and began rooting inside, while pointing to the parasitic insect.

"Glass, no time to explain! Smack Tori in the face and take that mushroom from her with some thievery, then fling it over to me so I can get a closer look at it! Once she's free of it, I want you to turn to that Parasect and strike that big mushroom on his back with poison jab! That's clearly doing something to her, and maybe some physical action will snap her out!" Rummaging, Alex found what he was looking for: a glass flute with a blue tint, with a special note that can awaken almost anything in a slumber. He figured this entrancement was similar, so by playing the flute he could hopefully waken her, perhaps some of the Roselia, and try and coordinate an assault on the Parasect. He wasn't going to stop there, however, for the moment the Nidorina returned to sanity he'd bark at her to slam the mushroom with sludge bomb and disable to try and stop that aromatherapy in its tracks.

And if all else failed and the poison pokemon did devour the mushroom, he'd immediately go from driving the Parasect away to ordering its execution. Nothing was taking anyone from him again.

After arriving at the Cloud Garden you are drawn to the beautiful Starline River. The day couldn’t be more perfect, between the scent of flowers being carried in on the breeze, the bright sun the sky, and the lush grass beneath your feet you are in a state of pure bliss. Mimi would have been very worried about you had you left her behind so you decided to use this day as an opportunity to bond since the setting couldn’t be any better. Kicking off your shoes and placing your feet into the clear water you begin to play with Mimi, bouncing her up and down in the water.

Taking a quick break for a snack, you look out across the river and notice a group of children playing with a Rattata and it makes you smile to see how much fun they’re having. The joy you feel, however, is suddenly interrupted by a brief high pitched yipe coming from beside you. The first thing you notice is that Mimi had decided to go into the river on her own, fortunately the river is steady so at least she won’t be swept off anywhere. But upon closer inspection Mimi’s face is showing that she appears to be in pain. You pick her up out of the water and along with her comes a tiny Wishiwashi that is attached to her bum. It appears to think that Mimi is food. Before you have time to really process that you should probably do something about the Wishiwashi you suddenly hear a scream coming from behind you! You quickly turn your head toward the source and see a little girl covered in dirt, crying, and looking terrified while being chased around by a Minccino with an angry look on its face. It would seem that the little girl may need some help but you’re a bit tied with with the Wishiwashi situation Mimi is enduring. What will you do?

Much like the name of the forest he was in, Muyo’s mind was clouded, a feeling left behind by the old regime of Fizzytopia. It had been said that the old rulers often ground up Amoonguss spores in the recipe of their candy distribution, but that was a story for another day.

DeKlars the Dhelmise continued to think up ways to assert its actual existence to its trainer, who was still busy contemplating whether or not he really was back in the Cloud Garden. The trees of the Cloud Forest stood tall and proud, just as they had all those years ago, while a nest of Pidove chicks chirped in the branches above, a premonition of a brighter future for the next generation. This daydream-like state carried on for a short while until Muyo was suddenly snapped out of it by a loud “THWAP!” sound.

Looking ahead up the path, Muyo spotted a small clearing in the forest, where a bird with reddish feathers was whacking away at a tree trunk, using a long leek in a sort of Kendo stance. “What the duck is going on here,” he wondered to himself, observing the unusual Pokemon. The Farfetch’d was most certainly abnormal; its plumage much redder in color than a normal one with the three crown feathers on its head an even darker red than that. There was also a cross-shaped scar on its cheek, right next to its bill. The leek in its wing had an unusual appearance as well; the sprout seemingly upside-down as if it were a reverse-leaf leek.

Muyo heard the crunching of footsteps coming up from behind him. It was a burly lumberjack with a thick red beard and all of the traditional clothes you would expect. “Greetings there, m’name’s Samuel,” he greeted, extending his hand, “Looks like you’ve found the rurouni Farfetch’d. We call him Kennegi. Rumor has it that he was defeated pretty badly higher up the mountain, so he’s come down here to train. Ever since then he’s been looking for sparring partners in order to hone his skill and get his revenge.” As if on cue, the Farfetch’d turned to face the two trainers, looking at them expectantly. It was up to Muyo whether or not he wanted to accept this challenge.

Just as Muyo convinced himself that he must be dreaming and that it was time for a hard pinch to try and wake up a sharp cracking sound rung out from deeper in the woods. The low buzz of the omnipresent life of the forest suddenly stopped, as if holding its breath to see what would happen next. The sound came again, but this time it was followed more quickly by another similar sound and it started to take on a repeating rhythm. The forest seemed to exhale as passive life took back on its natural routine, but Muyo was not prepared to simply let it go at that. "DeKlars, stay out of sight..." he said in a quiet tone as he followed the sound forward toward a clearing, before adding "Well... I guess that's natural for you, right?" which prompted the floating anchor to spin its compass again.

Creeping carefully down the path, finally Muyo came upon a clearing and ascertained the source of the racket- a fairly small Pokemon (at least small in comparison to the anchor floating behind him) was brandishing a leek against a tree as though it was practicing swordplay. The peculiar sight set Muyo aback slightly, but as he emerged from cover and approached he saw the ducklike Pokemon actually seemed to be using the flat of his leek to strike rather than the more natural curve. As Muyo was about to greet the curious creature he spun round in response to the crunch of leaves behind him, a Pokeball leaping from his belt to his hand in a smooth, practiced motion. It seems some things could never be forgotten no matter how much time passed.

Instead of the expected threat, a stoutly built but friendly seeming woodsman introduced himself and extended his hand. Muyo took hold of it and gave it a firm shake, "Nice to meet you Samuel, I'm Muyo... I hope you'll forgive my jumpiness, it's been a while since I've had any real human contact." The fellow seemed to take this in stride and proceeded to fill him in on the a bit of backstory of the red-tinged Farfetch'd in front of him, but it came down to two key points. Firstly, the "swordsman", for want of a better word, wanted to battle. Secondly, there was something that might pose even more of a challenge up the nearby mountain. Here was adventure again at last!

"All right then Kennegi, I'll be your opponent." Muyo answered, turning to face the diminutive duck with Pokeball in hand and released Yon Elekid onto the grass. The typing would be quite challenging for Kennegi to deal with, but it still seemed a bit more fair than fighting a duck with a giant fire breathing dragon. Besides, something about his opponent made Muyo think that perhaps fire might conjure up some bad memories for him. "Yon Elekid, he's packing a leek so you know he's looking for a chance to use it. Leer to throw him off his game, then hit him with a Thundershock. Finally, set up a Barrier to blunt those blows a bit."

Seeing that Mimi had dropped into the river was startling enough for a moment, but the realisation that her Mime Jr had a Wishiwashi attached was Not Good. "Oh, frick--" Alice startled, whole body jerking to the point that she almost fell in the water herself. The scream from behind had the woman alarmed, and she had no idea what to do, letting loose a string of curses as her brain tried to pick a priority. After a bit of flailing, the conclusion was: Wynaut both?

"Okay, Mimi. Tickle that thing, and if it doesn't let you go, send it flying with confusion!" She ordered of her poor baby, who was now crying. Alice hurriedly swung herself round, rolling onto her knees before jumping to her feet. A hand plunged into the bag to find one of her Love Balls, enlarging it within a tiny hand to release an unnaturally pink Pichu. The Pokemon loved a chance to prove itself in a battle, despite how small she was.

"Peach, you're up! Use swift on that rat, and follow it up with a seismic toss! Get it off that girl's back!" Alice ordered, scooping up the bag and moving from the river side. The trainer called to the girl next as her electric baby let loose a flurry of glowing stars and then made to rush the chaser. If Alice was lucky, static would kick in and the other rodent would have trouble trying to keep up, "Get over here! We've got you!"

Brave Saix:

With your compliment, the priestess’ face turned an even darker shade of red. She waved her hand in front of her face again, unable to say anything in her humble embarrassment.

“Well, guess I should be goin’,” Samuel Flint stood and stretched, his back cracking like an old tree. “Thanks for dinner as always, Madoka. And good luck to you kiddo, hope to see you around sometime soon.” He gathered up his things, one of which was a large woodcutting axe, and exited the cabin, closing the door gently. Madoka, finished with the dishes, gave you a slight bow and headed to her room. You took her place at the sink to rinse off your Pokemon’s helmet. The warm water flowed calmly from the sink, and you could hear the chirping of Kricketot in the distance. You placed the helmet on the drying rack, and dried your hands quickly with a dish rag before joining your Pokemon in the guest room.

The room wasn’t much, just a bunk bed and desk with a rock salt lamp on it. The lamp was turned on and emitted a soft orange glow. Julian was already curled up on the top bunk, his fluffy tail curled around himself. Jill had taken roost on the underside of the bed, hanging from it upside down. You settled on the mattress of the bottom bunk, both mentally and physically exhausted. Sleep found you quickly…

As you stirred awake, you felt something heavy on your chest. Assuming it was one of your team members, you ignored it at first. Whoever it was, they were really heavy. Like a rock.

“LARV!” Your eyes flew open at the cry. The first thing you saw was a pair of red eyes looking straight into yours. Startled, you tried to sit up, and the heavy thing on your chest jumped off, almost knocking the wind out of you. “TAR!” The small green Pokemon called as it scampered out of your room. Julian peered down from the top bunk, awoken by the commotion. Jill fluttered down from her spot on the bed to you, and she picked something up off of your chest in her small claws. It was a piece of paper.

“Sypher-san,
I’m so sorry but I have to take on a trial this morning. I’ve left some spelunking supplies for you in the main room.

My apologies,

Although you were a bit disappointed you weren’t going to get the chance to spend the day with the trial captain, you understood she had a job to do. You got you and your Pokemon ready for the day, then went to retrieve the supplies. Next to the door was a pick, some rope, and a helmet bearing what looked to be the family seal,「石」. A note was also placed on top of the gear.

The worries that came to your mind did not dissuade you. Remembering an important item in your backpack, you sprang into action. Glasspine looked relieved that you seemed to have an idea. He listened to your instructions readily, though seemed a bit worried about hitting his friend in the face. Closing his eyes in a wince, he reeled his small claw back and drew it sharply across Tori’s face. The Nidorina pulled her blue claw to her cheek, though her eyes still looked dazed. The mushroom she was holding tumbled to the ground, and Glasspine loyally snatched it up. Your Sandshrew knew what the next move was, and in one swift motion he tossed the mushroom your way, and delivered a Poison Jab into the side of the Parasect. It hissed angrily and turned towards its assailant.

You retrieved your Blue Flute successfully and brought it to your mouth. Skillfully, you played the tune made to awaken sleeping Pokemon, keeping your eyes on Tori. Her ears twitched again, but this time she looked up, alert. The song seemed to have snapped the remaining Roselia out of the trance as well. The three of them huddled together, fearful of what they had just experienced. The mushroom’s influence still held some of the Roselia, who were lined up waiting for their new master’s orders. Feeling that Tori was ready, you called out to her to use Sludge Bomb.

“Parasss!” The Parasect ordered, then swiped at your Sandshrew with a Scratch. A mind-controlled Roselia immediately dove out in front of the Parasect, saving it from the toxic substance that Tori had released from her mouth. It was Super Effective, and the Roselia soon fainted with a groan. The group of uninfected Roselia cried out in horror, hiding their faces in their roses.

As a sharp leaf whizzed by his head, nearly taking the tip of his ear off and grazing his neatly kempt hair, Lucas realized that perhaps he was being a bit presumptuous about this whole situation. Budew definitely seemed like it needed a bit of help, but he had just assumed that the Sunflora would be supportive and friendly, or at the very least neutral. But it made sense that they would be defensive of their young, especially over an interloper, as unfortunate as it may be. He would need to be a bit more crafty if he were to solve this problem without incurring the ire, or at the very least the ill will, of the Sunflora. He saw no real way to even attempt to reason with them to turn over the Budew into his care (and he had no Pokémon that could act as a suitable liaison), so he supposed that meant going elsewhere to solve the issue at hand. He wasn't quite sure what he would be able to do to coax or convince the Sunflora, but he figured a look around the gardens might reveal something he could use as a tool or bargaining chip to draw the Pokémon away or give the Budew enough strength to make its way to greener pastures. Getting back to his feet (and backing away slowly), he began a search for something that might be of use - perhaps a squirt bottle or watering can, or maybe some honey?

"Great job, Tomoko! Now, get ready, it looks like it's preparing for an attack!"

Hiero stepped back and focused intently on the situation. The Heracross was definitely wounded - and it was showing - but it was definitely putting up a fight. It was almost certainly extremely pissed off over having its meal interrupted, and the poisoning only seemed to pump it full of adrenaline.

The Heracross wasn't alone, however; The Mareanie was primed, too. Her defense had been lowered by when the beetle Pokemon's Leer caught her off guard, but she still seemed eager to fight.

"Tomoko! It's getting ready to dive ram you! Get in front of the tree and wait until just before it makes contact, and then take advantage of the Bunny Suit and jump as high as you can!" "If this works," Hiero thought, [i]"the Heracross should fall for the old bait and switch, diving its horn directly into the bark of the tree. And I'd venture that with the poison slowly taking its toll, even with its Guts kicked into gear, it's probably beginning to become a bit absent minded as a result of being lightheaded..."

Hiero looked up. The Mareanie wore an intense look on its face, preparing itself in what it knew was definitely a bit of a gamble. Hiero wasn't a gambling man, but if he had to guess, now was the perfect opportunity to give it a shot. "As soon as you jump, come back down hard with another Peck! If it works out, give it one more good Merciless Peck to keep it down!"

But Hiero needed a backup plan if this didn't work. "If... for some reason our bet doesn't pay off, form a defensive stance. If it does manage another direct hit, use your barbs to land a Poison Sting, and then give it a hard Peck when it's distracted!"

Hiero pulled out an empty Pokeball and twisted it in his hands. He was eager. He hadn't caught a Pokemon in a wild encounter in.... a very long time. But he could feel it: He was ready. The adrenaline of battle pumped through his veins, a distant yet familiar feeling that felt like a fire stoking in his belly. "When the time comes," he thought, "I'll be readying this Pokeball with my left hand, and battling Heracross with my right." He raised his head with a mischievous grin. "I'll take a Pokeball... AND CATCH IT!"

Rolling fields, boundless blue dotted with white. A perfect day in the perfect locale. No more running, just... rest for weary limbs.

Seiko collapsed, winded. At long last: no inclement weather, no seedy sidestreets, just the sweet smell of wildflowers and the feel of dew lightly soaking her clothes.

Perhaps running away from home, twenty-twenty hindsight, had not been among Seiko's most brilliant designs. No, not by a long-shot. She expected hardships like starvation, but not the myriad possibilities of running afoul of forces beyond her control. Nasty stuff like criminals, sickness: the works.

The weight of two bundles upon each shoulder roused Seiko from her reverie. Her eyes fluttered open to meet two curious gazes of her companions who had been running astride her moments earlier.

"Relax Baian, Aiolia," she whispered, patting the Skrelp and Litleo warmly. "We've made it."

The two sprang from Seiko's prone figure and began circling her in merriment. Both were acutely aware--Baian moreso, having been with her from its onset--of the precarious nature of the young woman's journey. Aiolia was the first to become attuned to the reinvigorating atmosphere; in an instant his gloom was dispelled, and he set about prancing to-and-fro restlessly.

Seiko sat upright at the sight and chuckled while Baian watched on, unimpressed. "I guess someone's excited get some grub and set up camp. Saa... let's see what we can come up with, shall we?"

Right, first a camping spot. "Why don't we settle down by that tall oak over there? We can dig in as soon as the tent's up."

Spotting the helpless Teddiursa up in the tree and the menacing bird that circled above, it wasn’t hard for Elka to put two and two together. Feeling pity for the poor chubby cub, she decided that it was best to defend it and give it a second chance at life. Elka called upon the assistance of her young Skitty, Mochi, to help out with this battle. She ordered the Skitty to unleash a Thunderbolt and get a jump on the bird, hopefully frying it in the process.

Mochi mewed obediently and prepared herself for battle. She cried out as electricity crackled in her mouth, unleashing a blast of a Thunderbolt upwards towards the circling predator. The blast wasn’t a direct hit, but it did seem to graze the bird, who cawed out angrily and turned its attention to the new target. Then, without warning, the bird stopped circling and suddenly dive-bombed the group. It began spinning rapidly like a corkscrew in a flurry of brown feathers lead by its vanguard of a long pointed beak.

Like a battering ram, the bird hit the ground, its Drill Run attack missing Mochi by about a foot. A good thing too, because from that altitude that attack could have seriously injured anyone, no matter who the target was. As the bird pulled its beak from the earth, Elka was finally able to get a closer look at it. A long, sharp red beak and pointy crown sat on a head above a slender neck and a great brown wingspan. The Fearow glared at Mochi angrily, letting out another loud caw. Its piercing gaze Leered at the Skitty, while the head cocked itself back, about to unleash a flurry of Fury Attacks.
As Elka stared into the sky, watching the bird circle overhead of them like a hungry predator --- she watched as Mochi's extreme blast of static energy grazed the bird. It certainly wasn't the direct hit she would've hoped for, especially considering how mean and overpowered that bird looked in comparison to her tiny pink cat Pokemon. The bird let out a loud screech, turning it's large head towards Elka and Mochi. It's glare sent shivers down Elka's spine, it seemed to watch them for a few moments before immediately charging downwards at the duo. Elka let out a loud gasp, watching as the large brown bird began spiralling in a circular motion --- preparing to drive itself directly into Mochi and/or Elka herself.

Pascal let out a cry, causing his trainer to quickly move closer towards him. Mochi on the other hand braced herself, ready to claw that bird out of the sky. Pascal pitied the young Skitty, did she actually not realise how much larger this enormous bird really was than her? Or did she just not care? Either way it seemed like pure stupidity rather than nobility. She stared down the speeding bullet of a bird, watching as it drove itself into the ground, a mere foot away from her. Mochi gave a cheeky grin, letting out a small cat-like chuckle as the bird angrily ripped it's own beak from the Earth. Elka sighed in relief, that impact probably could've killed her or Mochi if it had actually stuck either of them.

Elka finally got a proper look at the bird as it angrily straightened it's neck to pry it's beak from the Earth. It was large, towering over her and both of her Pokemon; brown, and most certainly angry looking. She gulped, watching as it reared it's gaze on Mochi. Mochi let out a small hiss at the awful leer it was giving her, that most certainly would not do. Especially as Elka watched the Fearow rearing up it's ugly head to attempt to strike her precious little Skitty.

"Mochi! Please jump out of the way!" She called, watching as her cat swiftly attempted to obey her order. "Follow up with a Fake Out, and then blast it with some more Thunderbolt while it's dazed!" She called. Her first Pokemon battle was certainly intense, she felt exhilarated.

Here you go, guys! Enjoy! :3

Muyotwo:
Accepting the challenge of the samurai-like Farfetch’d, Muyo reached for a Pokeball and lightly tossed it, revealing his Yon Elekid in a bright flash of light. Kennegi gulped as he gazed upon the electric type Pokemon, tightening the grip of his wing around the oddly-shaped leak in his possession. Samuel let out a hearty laugh and clapped his hands together, leaving a loud echo that reverberated throughout the forest. “It’s settled, then! I’ll act as the referee of this match.”

Samuel took a few steps away and sat down on a log. Despite the type advantage, Muyo didn’t want to underestimate his opponent. A determined passion burned in the duck’s eyes, and Muyo could see his desire to win. Muyo called out to Yon Elekid, offering his strategy to start off the battle. Yon Elekid nodded, preparing himself for battle.

Yon Elekid started the sparring match off by Leering an icy glare at Kennegi, who gazed back at the Elekid with a Defiant riposte. Determined to overcome Yon Elekid’s attempts to weaken his resolve, Kennegi darted forward in a burst of speed, slamming into the electric Pokemon with a Quick Attack. Yon Elekid stumbled back, a little surprised by the blow, but not deterred thanks to his Aegis of Frost raising his defensive power. Kennegi charged at Yon Elekid for a follow up strike, but this time Yon Elekid was prepared; shooting out a Thunder Shock at the Farfetch’d.

The blast jolted Kennegi who swiped his leek at Yon Elekid in the process. Yon Elekid looked slightly puzzled; even though the Thunder Shock was a direct hit, he seemed to have taken more damage from Kennegi than he did before. The answer lied across the forest clearing, by Muyo’s feet. His Aegis of Frost had been Knocked Off by that strike. Determined to keep his guard up, Yon Elekid began to erect a Barrier around himself, raising his defenses. As he did so, Kennegi struck the dirt with his leek, splashing a Sand Attack in the Elekid’s eyes. As the action began to unfold, Muyo saw that both Pokemon took some hits but were still raring to go. Trying to rub the dirt out of his eyes, Yon Elekid awaited his next orders.

Jerichi:
Realizing the futility of trying to pry Budew away from the overprotective Sunflora at the present moment, Lucas turned his attention towards the path ahead of him. Maybe if he could explore around a little bit, he might be able to find some clues about why Budew is with the Sunfloras. In the very least, maybe he could find something to replenish the Budew’s strength a bit.

Getting back to his feet, Lucas begrudgingly left the withering Budew behind and began making his way down the paths that were lined with beautiful and exquisite flower beds. After a short while of walking, Lucas came to a juncture in the pathway. Before him stood a small sign that read “Roses” with an arrow pointing up ahead. Knowing the Budew’s true species of flower, it was a good sign. He proceeded ahead to check out the roses.

The garden around him was truly breathtaking. There were roses of every color and assortment growing all around him, and yet, as he wanted into the rose section of the garden, Lucas felt an indescribable shift in the vibe of the plants around him. While the sunflowers and the brightly colored flowers from before the juncture felt warm and radiant, the flowers here emitted a refined, elegant beauty. They gave off a very strict ‘look, but do not touch’ kind of feeling.

Walking a little further down the path, Lucas spotted a flowerbed that was filled with Budew and their evolved form, Roselia. A stark contrast from the Budew he found earlier, the Pokemon here appeared very stiff and serious. Almost like tiny plant soldiers, they neatly stood in precise rows with the Budews in front and the Roselias in the back, posing like runway models. Being unable to speak Pokemon, it would be hard for Lucas to inquire about the Budew he found, but this might be a good place to start regardless. What will he do?

Deoxys:
The Heracross’ Guts seemed to be infectious as adrenaline pumped Hiero up. This battle had excited him in a way he hadn’t felt in a long time; his mind darting all over the place to come up with strategies and backup plans. Spotting the Heracross loosen its wings as it prepared to attack, Hiero made his own preparations in return and called them out to Tomoko who was eagerly waiting for them.

Using her Bunny Suit, the Mareanie leapt up onto a tree trunk, grabbing hold with her spiky tentacle-like legs. Heracross spread its wings and took off at an amazing speed. Unfortunately for Tomoko, she had little time to react to this; her Bunny Suit enabled her to jump higher, not faster. The Heracross twisted and contorted its body in a corkscrew-like motion, slamming into Tomoko with a punishing Aerial Ace, causing the Mareanie to screech in pain and fall off of her hold on the tree. With her defenses lowered and the Heracross’ adrenaline-boosted attack, Tomoko could really feel that hit hard.

As the Heracross came around and steadied itself, Tomoko enacted Hiero’s backup plan and went into a defensive stance. Heracross charged forward, striking the starfish with a powerful Horn Attack. However, as the hit landed, Tomoko retaliated by using her barbs to land a point-blank Poison Sting on the Heracross. As it recoiled from the hit, Tomoko followed up the attack with a Merciless Peck from the spike on top of her head, ramming it into the beetle. Heracross winced as the poison whittled away a little more of its health. Overall Heracross appeared to be standing a little stronger than Tomoko, who took some heavy hits this round. However, this was a battle of attrition and the poison running through Heracross’ veins might catch up to it soon. For now, both Pokemon were still ready to go. Heracross took a deep breath, preparing itself for its next attack.

Naruxami:
Elka stood there in awe of her Skitty who seemed confidant despite the large Fearow’s intimidating appearance, unfazed even in her first battle. The heron-like bird prepared its beak to strike at a moment’s notice, so Elka had to do some quick thinking to call out a strategy for her Pokemon. Mochi nodded, letting out a meow of comprehension and prepared for the start of battle.

Fearow cawed loudly and thrust its beak at Mochi, but the Skitty quickly jumped out of the way, using erratic movements to Fake Out the bird and follow up with a tackle. While the Fearow was caught off guard, Mochi shifted gears, blasting it with a Thunderbolt. The blast was a direct hit, but was not super effective thanks to Mochi’s Normalize ability channeling her powers to convert her attacks into Normal-type energy. Getting back to its feet, Fearow tried once more to strike Mochi with a Fury Attack, this time the attack the attack successfully landing thrice.

Pascal and the Teddiursa nervously watched on as Mochi stood her ground against the big, scary Fearow. Both Pokemon had exchanged some blows this round with Mochi coming out slightly on top in terms of health, but has expended a bit more energy as well. As Elka began to consider strategy for the next exchange of attacks in the battle, Fearow started flapping its wings slowly to hover just off the ground. From the looks of it, it seemed like Fearow’s next attack would come from the sky. It was up to Elka and Mochi to react accordingly.

Rorik Pine, Pokémon Professor from the northern region of Heiml, was at a loss. And he hated it.

Nothing. Not a single lead!

The young scientist had chosen the study of bonds between Man and Pokémon his life’s work. As such, he’d researched the matter extensively for over a decade, despite only now starting to take his baby steps in actual field experience – and yet, for all his studying, he couldn’t for the life of him figure out whom the Stone Shrine had been dedicated to.

Regirock? The old ruler of the skies, now a mere fossilized memory? The tyrant king of Pokémon in ancient history?

There were no obvious markings, gravures or inscriptions on the time-worn stone, and no trustworthy documentation on religious beliefs of the old tribes of Cloud Garden. It was infuriating!

In theory, this should be a perfect place to deepen his understanding. Shrines had served as places of worship and offering to the Gods since times immemorial; in a way, one of the earliest physical representations of the bonds between Pokémon and humans. In fairness, that relationship used to be vastly different in ancient history.

There were no PokéBalls, no Technical Machines, no competitive battling – only survival. They didn’t answer to us… We answered to them. And considering Pokémon have the power to breathe fire, conjure lightning and control minds, it’s honestly baffling to think how much the scales of power have tilted in our favour overtime.

The area was so utterly silent, Rorik could have sworn he’d come all by himself. It wasn’t the case, however.

“Not much of talker, are you?...”

The Professor’s companion, standing perfectly static and perpetually mute, was the Staryu he’d been sold by mistake at the Adoption Center. And if figuring out the mysteries of the Stone Shrine was proving difficult, understanding the gem-incrusted starfish seemed a nigh-impossible task.

It doesn’t speak, it has no expression, no apparent biological needs… how do I bond with such a Pokémon? There are no published guidelines on this species, I’ve looked in every major online journal and database! What are you, Staryu?...

Maskerade:

You looked over the stones in scientific frustration, unable to locate anything to give you even a slight hypothesis about for whom the Stone Shrine was made. Though there were many offerings at the shrine, in the form coins dropped in to the saisen and ema placed on a nearby rack, none of them indicated thanks to a particular deity. You had even observed two stone pedestals as you walked up the stairs to the shrine, absent of statues that may have served as protectors of the area. The large, sliding door of the shrine was cracked open slightly, and although it was dark, you could see what looked like materials for ritual. Perhaps a closer look would give your inquiring mind some satisfaction.

A weak breeze blew by, making the wind-chimes hung on the shrine and the tails of your lab coat sway slightly. You observed your Water-type partner, silent as always. It seemed to be facing the direction of the Starline Falls in the distance, perhaps wishing it was there, rather than in the dry climate of the Stone Shrine. Of course, it was hard to know if your new Pokemon had any desires at all. Suddenly, the ruby-red gem on Staryu lit up, and somehow the star-shaped creature looked alert. You followed its line of sight (and wondered if it actually had a mechanism allowing such a thing) to a group of tall stones surrounding the shrine. There, a large dust cloud was forming. As you looked back at your Staryu, the light of its gem fades. It was hard to tell, but you think it was pleased you noticed the commotion in the dirt.

Will you continue your research of the shrine? Or move on to new pursuits?

((Thanks for picking me up! ^^))

The Shrine was elaborate, no question about that. The tribe who’d built it clearly had done so either with loving care, or commanding fear – as was always the case when deities were involved. Whether the gods they worshipped were benevolent or wicked, he could not tell, nor could he ascertain whether the offerings were demanded or provided willingly by the populace.

Breaking up the monotony, a gust of wind kicked up, strong enough to lift the tails of his lab coat and trigger the wind chimes scattered along the pillars. Suddenly, the out-of-sync melody of the bells gave the place an eerie atmosphere, and what followed was even more unsettling. Worse still: unscientific.

The gale, unassuming at first, adopted a strange behaviour, kicking up dirt and spinning in place, forming a vortex of particles around the shrine, as if manipulated by some strange force. “Dust devils”, transient phenomena of a similar presentation, occurred naturally from time to time, but this was different – this one wasn’t letting up, nor was it moving about randomly, but rather spinning continuously in the same place, creating a dust cloud that grew over the stones.

So that’s why its gem began to glow. Did you anticipate it?...

Staryu had indeed been the first to react, as if sensing the oncoming ominous wind. Its gem, polished and perfectly round – what a miracle of nature to produce such a perfectly shaped jewel without humans tampering – glimmered red, the only sign of vital activity from the mysterious creature, but Rorik had dismissed any meaning behind it at first. Now faced with this strange vortex, perhaps there was more to Staryu’s foresight than met the eye.

Historically, places of worship such as this have been recorded as sites of events that science cannot explain. Could this be one such case? If so there is no way I can turn a blind eye. I must delve deeper into this mystery!

Taking a deep breath, the Professor took a step forward, but hesitated afterwards, freezing in fear. It wasn’t until his partner, static up until theat point, suddenly began moving as well, that Rorik found the courage to keep going. Ad so, side by side, human and Pokémon approached the mysterious cloud of dust.

Meetan - You were completely shocked to find that a Wishiwashi had decided to treat your poor baby as food. But, you were briefly distracted and nearly fell into the river when you heard the little girl screaming from behind you! Good thing you didn’t drop little Mimi. After processing everything that is going on, you decide that you are in a position to handle both of these situations! And that you do!

Mimi has tears streaming down her face but still tries to put on a brave front and listens to your orders. She reaches down with her adorable little arms and begins to Tickle the Wishiwashi in hopes that if it laughs it will open its mouth and be forced to let go! And laugh it does, however, it still doesn’t seem to be interested in letting go anytime soon. The laugh is more like, strange gurgling noises coming from its throat. But for the time being, Mimi persists and continues to Tickle the Wishiwashi hoping it will give in.

Meanwhile, you energetically whip around and fall to your knees, but quickly get back up and dig into your bag! You pull out a cute pink Love Ball with a heart on it and send it flying releasing an adorable pink Pichu. Peach was fired up and totally ready for a fight! She begins to shoot a stream of stars toward the Minccino and it’s so distracted with chasing the little girl that it’s a direct hit! Since it had no chance to brace itself against the impact, it begins to roll and tumble away from the girl. It stands up and looks down at itself only to see that it is also now covered in dirt. Now, that little angry face it had on while chasing that little girl was nothing compared to the face it has now. Now it’s a look of pure rage and it is being aimed right at Peach! Minccino appears to have forgotten about the little girl entirely and is now charging toward Peach at full speed. At the same time, Peach is also charging Minccino. They collide! Minccino Pounds Peach into the ground with its tail, static seemingly has no effect this time. Peach gets back up and grabs onto that same tail and begins to whip the Minccino around in circles, building more and more momentum until finally, she lets go. The Minccino flies through the air and eventually slams into the ground, tumbling across it once more and is now covered in even more dirt. This time it stands back up and takes a good look at itself and tears begin to form in its eyes but it still has a face of rage. It begins to charge at Peach once again, this time ready to give her a serious Pounding since the first time clearly didn’t get the message through.

Because the Minccino has its sights set on Peach, the little girl has managed to run over to you with tears still falling from her eyes. “Thank you so much.. I was so scared..” Right then, Mimi has given up on tickling the Wishiwashi, she knows that if it hasn’t worked yet then it’s not going to. She resorts to your second command and uses her Confusion to send the Wishiwashi flying! And she succeeds! There's just one problem, it still doesn’t let go so she goes flying along with it. She is yanked out of your hands and flies through the air and right into the little girls arms. The little girl had a good catch and holds Mimi out in front of her to get a good look. She gasps! “Soooooo CUUUUUTE!!” The girl is full of pure joy as she stares at the Mime Jr. her eyes are sparkling. “You’re mine now! And you’re going to be mine forever!” She seems to have completely forgotten that you are present because the only thing that seems to exist in her world outside of herself right now is Mimi. Suddenly, she takes off, running away with Mimi who still has the Wishiwashi attached. It would seem you’ve just had your Pokemon stolen, by a little girl no less. And Peach is in quite a situation herself since she has incurred the wrath of Minccino. What are you going to do?

Kyuu-Tales - Finally, you’ve arrived at a beautiful place where you can relax and not have to worry about bad weather or shady characters. You’re able to just enjoy a bright and sunny day with your Pokemon and decide to take a break, laying in the grass and taking in the sun. You smile as Aiolia dances around you in joy, so happy that he is finally in a carefree environment at last. Baian, on the outside doesn’t seem to care either way, but you are still certain he is just as happy. You suddenly stand up with a goal in mind, it’s time to set up a campsite so that you can all get settled in and finally eat.

You notice a spot of shade below a tall oak tree not too far from where you’re at now and decide that is the perfect place. Your Pokemon follow you over to it and you get to work, wasting no time. You begin to unroll your tent so that you can begin to set it up with your Pokemon’s help. Suddenly, you hear a strange rustling sound coming from the tree above you so you look up. Hm, from what you can see nothing appears to be there, maybe it was just the wind. You go back to setting up and get ready to place the tarp into position when you begin to hear that rustling sound again. Once again, you are looking up and examining the tree, trying to see if you can find anything hidden amongst the leaves and branches. You are very distracted by the tree when suddenly the tarp you were once holding is swiped from your hands. You quickly look down at your empty hands in confusion, then you look at your Pokemon who are both just sitting there innocently and yet there is no tarp in your immediate sight. You decide to finally look up and see a Shinx running away full speed while holding the tarp in its mouth as it drags behind it. Then, for a brief moment, you swear you hear something that sounds like suppressed laughter coming from the tree above you. But right now, your tent is getting further away from you the longer you take to think. What are you going to do?

The Sandshrew had the feeling the mushroom was bad news, but the reluctance to hurt his ally was put aside as he heard Alex's reasoning. Bringing his claw around, he squeaked and closed his eyes before striking the Nidorina in the face, which caused the poison type to bring her paw up to her face, while the other dropped the held mushroom.

"Chuck it here, Glass!" Alex called before bringing the flute to mouth as the fungus was launched in his direction, while the shrew struck forth at the Parasect with his claws steeped in poison, forcing the insect to hiss and turn towards him. The melody from the flute echoed through the area, and as he watched his entranced pokemon, he watched her ears twitch...and then suddenly Tori started, alert and back in control. The Nidorina looked around in some confusion before seeing her companion in battle, and as a bonus the other three Roselia under the trance had snapped out of it, the trio suddenly rather fearful, their friends under the influence of the mushrooms.

"Tori, no time to explain! Sludge bomb that Parasect!" With a nod, the poison type prepared her attack just as the Sandshrew cried in pain, for the Parasect had brought its pincer round in a scratch at the shrew, its plan having been thwarted. With a heave, Tori's missile flew forth, only for one of the controlled Roselia to leap forward and take the attack for the bug, the impact taking it out immediately. The other Roselia, unsurprisingly, cried in horror, hiding their faces behind their flowers, but Alex knew the fight had properly begun. Taking a small plastic bag, he sought to pick up the mushroom by him in the bag and have a closer look after tying the bag to seal it in, while giving the pair orders.

"Glass, hone your claws then strike the Parasect with a pair of fury cutter attacks! Tori, try and get those three Roselia to help out against the bug by confiding the trouble it's causing, then smack the Parasect with ice beam and see if we can't get the group to beat up on him while he's struggling. Should any of those possessed Roselia attack either of you, hit them with a scratch to try and keep them at bay. I've got the mushroom, we can find some way to help the controlled ones after the big guy's down and out."

Patches continued to watch as Mio battled it out with the Pancham. Finally, things have gone on for so long that she seems to have been able to actually process the entire situation. ’Why is that Pancham attacking Mio? I can’t tell if she needs my help but I think it’d be best if offer it. I hate violence but I can’t allow Mio to get beat down.’ She begins to reach into her bag while thinking of Mio and doesn’t even have time to get what she’s digging for before the Stufful takes off running. “Oh no! Come back!” she prepares to take chase but stumbles when she realizes that would mean leaving Mio behind. ’Ahhhh what do I do, what do I do…’ She’s starting to mildly panic in her head but does her best to pull herself together. ’Alright so, I can’t let that Stufful get away but this little one is clearly upset and needs something to make him happy again! I have just the thing!’

Now that she has figured out a plan in her mind, it is time to put it into action. “Kei! I need you to follow that Stufful and give it a big hug for me when you catch up! We’ll be right behind you!” Kei has a lot of love in his heart so this mission is perfect for a Pokemon like him, he nods and turns away in order to chase after the Stufful. “As for you.” Patches turns back to Mio and the Pancham. Mio gets excited, finally her trainer is actually going to take charge and get things done! She begins to charge up her electricity while she waits for Patches commands so that she is 100% ready to let this little panda Pokemon have it. But what does happen next, Mio wasn’t expecting at all. Patches pulls her hand out of her bag and throws a fist full of sparkling confetti in the Pancham’s face. “Sparkles make me happy so I know they’ll make you feel happy too!” Patches has a huge grin on her face, she feels she has outdone herself with this idea. Mio, however, has been left dumbfounded, and not in a good way. ’I still need to catch up with Kei and that Pancham is definitely small enough to carry so…’ Patches knows what to do next and runs up to the Pancham in order to pick it up and take it along with her because she’s worried about Kei and can’t waste anymore time. Mio is frustrated and continues to Growl while preparing to give it a good Thunder Shock to the system if it tries anything.
