Shingeki no Kyojin

I don't even recognize the song you linked as being from Shingeki no Kyojin. It is a truly fantastic piece. That's kind of sad though for this poor series that I don't even remember this piece. I'm normally all over good music in anime like a bee over honey. Without looking it up, I have a few guesses, but none I'm too sure of:

(spoilers up through the episode that aired two weeks ago, so ... 8?)

My first guess is that this played when Eren the Titan showed up and saved Mikasa.

My second guess is that this played when Eren the Titan "died" and Eren the Human emerged from the nape of his neck.

My third guess is that this played during Mikasa's speech to the other cadets.

Any more guesses than this and I'd just be listing every possible scene off, so I'll stop here. Hopefully one of the guesses was right. ^^;

Edit: Okay im retarded apparently its not actually SnK OST, its just a song a really talented guy composed, and somebody just took it and put SnK artwork on it (probably for views). Well, back to youtube browsing I go!

Surprised I didn't see the plot twist of Eren attacking his fellow humans coming. Seems so obvious now that I've witnessed it.

The episode was okay but it really dragged its feet in my opinion. While I agree with Yuki about the speeches, I didn't really enjoy that the episode seemed to be nothing but buildup to the operation. This is an episode I easily could have held off on watching until next week and then gotten to watch it alongside Episode 12. As it stands, I feel like this series has been dragging its feet now for two weeks in a row.

Episode 11

I really don't like what the producers are doing with the big speech scenes, where they cut all the animation and just show pictures that kind of imply what is happening. Same with the ending scene which looked so stale and lifeless, didn't quite give me that shiver that Episode 1 and 5 did, which had so much movement and so much character. Just seems like the production of everything is getting really lazy now.

Also that ending was predictable as fuck. Its getting to the point where I probably wouldn't hesitate to click spoilers because I probably saw it coming anyway.

All these soldiers are overcome with despair and fear. I don't see how that would happen in any modern military, and these people have had 3 YEARS of training. I'm surprised any of them even show fear after that long.

I noticed earlier how convenient it was that so many people died when there was a food shortage, but now it's revealed that was intentional. I wonder what else they are keeping secret.

Also, Eren is trying to hit on Mikasa! Shouldn't have gotten so drunk beforehand. ;o

I have to concede, Eren going berserk seemed pretty...obvious. I can't believe we didn't guess that earlier! I think he may have been pissed off at Misaka trying to baby him earlier.

Pixis seems like a pervy old man. I can see it in his smug face. I like how much of a visionary he is, but it seems like the plan's going to backfire now with Eren out of control. Even if Eren picks up the boulder, the other humans might be dead before he can do anything with it.

There's also the possibility that the huge titans return to stop his efforts.

Saw it coming but didn't actually think it would happen. Excited at the turn of events, disappointed that the series continues to be in a downward spiral of "we're fucked".

The preview for next week shows Titan Eren's face half destroyed and Armin stabbing him in the back of the neck saying "it seems as though the mission is failed, but..." which leads me to think something is going to happen we didn't see coming. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if everything seems lost and suddenly another Titan comes in and helps lift the boulder and, oh hey! Commander Pixis can turn into a Titan, too! or something.

Also the episode piled on evidence to the theory I had previously that this is all on Earth in the very distant future where being trapped behind the walls has actually made humanity regress. As Pixis said, legend had it humans fought long ago over trivial things and were always at war - and the Titans showing up was supposed to unite them.

This leads me to believe that the Titans are either

A. science experiment/weapons of war

B. Punishment from God/demons (would lel)

C. Evolved humans (...also would lel, for reasons I'm sure others understand)

D. Aliens

E. ... yeah, I think anything aside from "Science experiment" would be pretty hilarious, honestly.

Then again it's entirely possible this isn't Earth-distant-future and the Titans truly are just some creature around since the beginning of time or whatever, but given they don't reproduce or need to eat and that it would be boring if their origins weren't some huge plot twist that it would be boring, I'm going to have to stick with my current theory.

They may as well have called this first season "Shingeki no Kyojin: the Battle of Trost". 'Cause it's getting fairly ridiculous how many episodes we've had now with a "The Battle of Trost (#)" subtitle beneath the episode title proper.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! WHY IS THAT DIALOG EVEN THERE?!
The respect I've had for Mikasa's character is beginning to crumble. That bit is in the most inappropriate place to begin with, and making Mikasa a "shy blusher in love" kind of character does not strike me as a positive development. We've had more than enough sis-con this past season and I really don't need Mikasa to join those ranks.

Episodes 12 and 13!

Here comes Armin to rescue Eren from the titan he can't control! Looks like he's going to cut open the pilot's chamber so he can escape! NOPE. He's just going to stab him in the shoulder. Ouch.

Not a lot happened in episode 12. It really does feel like this is dragged out. I'm a bit glad I decided to watch episode 13 as well!

Suddenly Eren is able to control his mech! No explanation of how he did it or what happened is given though. One minute he's refusing Armin's pleas, and the very next time we see him, he's back to normal.

Titans can understand human speech! Hey, titans, turn around! *titans turn around*

All that effort to get a boulder in place. It could be undone in a second by that giant titan!

Titans seem strangely attracted to Eren the way they are to humans. They must be able to tell he's a fake!

Titans are.... bulimic? That's really weird.
