Caring was indeed Liawe's job, and she needed to be extra caring when it came to dealing with this. The Queens and other trainers seemed to be handling themselves well, but she could see she'd be needed elsewhere soon, judging by the echoing roar from the direction of the town. She decided she'd head over there once Hope'd had her fill. Or at least, that was the original intention. She was merciless, and would likely not stop until she either got bored, got knocked out or had taken her foe out of the picture. Possibly permanently, depending on her mood. She felt sorry for the little Vulpix. Especially when its tearful blue eyes locked with her own of stormy grey. It was decided then. As soon as the onslaught ended, Liawe readied a Pokeball, ready to throw it and hopefully add this little fox to her ever-growing menagerie. She hoped she was ready...

Poppy caught up with the pair as they neared the carriage, where the waiting Mudsdale appeared largely unfazed by the tremors traveling through the terrain thanks to their sturdy builds and down-to-earth natures, rather feeling right at home on such rocky turf. He helped the young miss dismount and load her instead onto the cart, where she smiled weakly and granted a kiss to Epona's forehead, smiling at both faithful steed and gallant black knight in thanks as the latter whacked the few remaining porcine pursuers out of the way. Just then, the Ponyta's ears pricked as she sensed another fluctuation underfoot, forecasting an even stronger incoming force. While her load had been safely delivered at least, she was still vulnerable to surface vibrations, and so swiftly sprinted away from the epicenter, building up momentum to spring gracefully high into the air as the groundswell erupted, radiating out in powerful ripples that threatened to topple every being present. Jessica herself flopped over in the snow from the surge's impact, wincing as she felt wetness seep into the seat of her pants. The Mudsdale braced themselves once again and while the wagon behind them wobbled dangerously, luckily it too maintained upright position. Once the quake had safely passed, the wingless pegasus made her return descent, colliding straight into an unsuspecting Vulpix for good measure - which was still dizzily struggling to recover from its disorientation as it teetered to and fro before collapsing from the second surprise strike, fully stunned into seeing stars and horsies flitting around in circles around its head like a carousel. As Epona whinnied in triumph over her downtrodden victory, Jess hastily stood up and dusted herself off, beaming in congratulations. "Good work, girl, you did great. Why don't you take a rest now, you've earned it." She commended as she recalled the prancing Ponyta into her Fast Ball, before making her way towards the transport in response to Poppy's request for bodyguards, determined to help ensure Miss Primrose made it safely back to town. Once all volunteers were onboard, the caravan set off speedily towards their destination. For a while, things seemed peaceful as they made steady progress to the settlement, despite the thick storm clouding their way. Mid en route though, the Mudsdale stopped short, seemingly spooked by something. Jessica was immediately on alert, as a booming roar echoed ominously over the plateau, sending the startled Mudsdale racing off in sheer terror. They screeched to a halt though as their path was abruptly cut off by a massive block of ice crashing down in front of them. Peering fearfully outside, Jess witnessed an army of polar bear cubs surrounding their prey, led by a full-grown adult on its hind legs, towering menacingly over them as it bared its fangs, no doubt preparing to make a meal of them. Before Jess could react in her panicked state though, she heard another lone HOWL across the wind, as a wolf in shining sapphire armor suddenly emerged into view, growling and LEERing at the enemies whilst planting firmly between them and the coach, prepared to protect at all costs. Jess breathed in relief when she saw Sheik, not even bothering to ask where the Houndour had been all this time as she called out: "Thanks for coming to assist us. Let's try to keep these bears at bay with some EMBERs, and hopefully melt some of the ice as well..."

Suddenly, some grass type attacks lashed out and attacked the group of Ice type Pokemon, which most likely meant that they came from allies. Four Pokemon, a Bellossom, a Roserade, a Lilligant, and a new Pokemon Bill hadn't seen (the Pokedex mentioned it was something called a Tsareena. Apparently they were the queens of the garden, though last time Bill was here he never heard of them before. Soon, however, an S.O.S. had sounded from the radios. It seemed like the girl, Poppy, was in deep trouble. Some cubchoos and beartics started to attack. Bill unhesitatingly rode the carriage to get to the people being attacked. "Catch your breath, Silver. Looks like we might be in for a much longer day." Silver gave a nod and focused on resting even if it was for a short bit. As soon as they arrived, Bill commanded, "Silver start off with a tail whip on some of the Cubchoos, but focus on the Beartic, then try to tackle the Beartic into some of the Cubchoos." If Eskil had not been so laser focused on that single Vulpix, he might have been able to warn Belial about the Earthquake coming his way, but it is hard to focus on anything else at the moment. Left with an injured and confused Houndoom, Eskil has to make a choice. Leaving Belial to fight confused means a greater chance for more friendly fire in an already chaotic battle. On the other hand, calling him back means either letting go of Nyx, or letting go of the empty Pokeball in his other hand. (His grip on the Pokeball is unwavering. In fact, his entire arm seems to be locked up. Eskil doubts he could do anything with that Pokeball except throw it at that specific Vulpix.) So his options are to let go of the anchor keeping his mind clearer to return Belial, and potentially send said anchor in as a replacement, or let her go temporarily to switch out to another Pokemon. Letting go of Nyx at all is not something Eskil wants to do, but it is more palatable than sending her off to fight. She would take his last shreds of concentration with her, and while she could likely finish this fight without his input, he would be blind to any nasty surprises from the rest of the fighting around them. Steeling himself, Eskil lets go of Nyx long enough to recall Belial, and tosses another Pokeball out. Through the encroaching static, he manages to call out his orders to the emerging Sneasel. “Khione, Fake Out and then Low Kick!” His hand immediately buries itself back into Nyx’s fur. Distantly, he hears a call about more help being needed elsewhere, but it isn’t an immediate concern in his current fight, and so it gets pushed aside. He watches the Vulpix, waiting for the best moment to throw the Pokeball so he could be rid of this awful feeling and get back to helping. (Member Profile) |

I am going to use 9 Rare Candies on Aya the Sentret raising her from lv. 6 to lv. 15 so that she evolves into Furret. I will also be using 1/2 Shiny Sprays on her. ------------------- Patches was pulled out of being in her own world by the worried voice of the nearby trial captain, Jet. She had been so distracted by the adorable Pokemon before her that she had forgotten that there was a lot of important stuff going on that she should probably be helping with. “Hmm… It sounds like my help is needed somewhere else, Rika! But there is just no way I can leave such a cute Pokemon behind without catching it…” Patches thinks for a moment as she watches Rika battle it out with the Alolan Vulpix in front of her. Then it finally dawns on her that the best way to speed things up would be to use fire since they are surrounded by ice. Even Patches knows that much. “Rika! You’ve been amazing but I’m going to give you a rest now and let Kei take over!” Before Rika has any chance to protest, Patches has already returned the Espeon to her pokeball. “Alright Kei! Come on out!” She reaches into her bag and throws what was supposed to be Kei’s pokeball only to reveal a pink and white Furret instead. “A-Aya…?” Patches is only surprised for a moment, at this point she’s used to occasionally sending out a Pokemon she wasn’t expecting. Aya is usually full of energy and very playful but at the moment she is shivering from the cold and it’s taking her a bit to adjust to her surroundings. “Well Aya, since you’re here it looks like you’re going to do Kei’s job!” The shiny Furret squints at her trainer through the storm and blinks, slightly confused but ready to do whatever is expected of her nonetheless. “See that Pokemon right there!” Patches points at the Alolan Vulpix that Rika had been fighting. “Coil up in order to prepare yourself and then run up to it and give it a Fire Punch! Then I’ll throw my pokeball at it!” Patches readies an empty pokeball in her hand, prepared to throw it as soon as Aya is done with her attack. She also finally takes the time to pull out her Pokedex and actually learn what it is that she’s catching. “Vulpix... Have Vulpix always been that color?” She wonders to herself as she waits for Aya to make her move. “After I catch this Vulpix, we’re going to grab a ride to that place where help is needed! So Aya I’m going to need you to Shadow Ball any Vulpix or…” She finally notices the Swinub that are also in the area. “… Or those brown things that get in our way!”

Lucas had to think of something different, and quickly, but his focus was caught off guard by the unfolding battle elsewhere. The Glalie, which had been chuckling and ordering his subordinates until now, had finally come to lower itself into battle. Their leader Athena had apparently noticed and ordered her Clefable to Meteor Mash the menace, only to be surprised by the sudden appearance of an accompanying Froslass. The general and his second-in-command had now decided to join the battles themselves, as if the increasing number of high-powered lieutenants wasn’t bad enough. To make matters even worse, the Glalie had somehow managed to Mega-evolve itself without the help of a trainer. Other trainers were leading the charge against and ordered their Pokémon to focus on the two new villains. Lucas couldn’t get himself distracted however and decided it was best to stay with the battle they had now before they’d join the fray. “Amp”, he called out to his Pokémon by her shortened name, “we have to incapacitate them as much as we can. Discharge and Thunder Wave. Then try Zap Cannon again”, as he silently hoped paralysis might kick in at the right time.

OOC: Sorry for not replying since my initial reply. Finals and stuff x.x Austin had managed to get lost on the way to the Waterfall... Which wasn't that surprising. Though, by lost, it was more that he saw a pile of snow and decided to build a snowman. Other people were there for now, he didn't need to worry for a bit. When he decided his snowman was perfect enough, the teen gave it a nod before heading back towards the waterfall. It seems that he missed a lot doign such a simple task. He looked as the trainers were fighting in full force. A Mega Glalie sat atop the waterfall, sitting ominously over the group. A Froslass was near its side, and the teen could see a horde of Snorunt descending onto the group. A myriad of other ice-types were also busy fighting the trainers and Pokemon that were already there. "Seems that most of the big guys are being handled..." he muttered to himself as he fiddled with a ball in his hand. He tossed it out, releasing the contents into the fray. A Kantonian Ninetales stood proud, before giggling to himself. The sneaky fox was planning his course of action way before his trainer gave him orders. Though, Nick wasn't any common thief, no. The Ninetales prided himself in his work, and prided his partnership with his trainer. He flicked his tails on the ground, ready for orders. "Okay Nick, start off with a Nasty Plot! Let's make our fire burn the brightest! Then see that Snorunt over there?" Austin pointed to a Snorunt left to them, which was sticking to the outskirts similar to the duo. "Hit him hard and hit him fast. A Flame Charge to increase your speed and agility through this snow, and the roast the Pokemon with a Flamethrower!"

And there may have been a little in the way of ulterior motives with that decision. Melody found Cubchoo adorable in essentially every way, and if she somehow found the opportunity to catch one, you bet your butt she was gonna do just that. "Alright Princess," she said to the Stufful. "When we get there I want you to hone in on going after a Cubchoo. Start off the usual Baby Doll Eyes and Leer combo, and the go all in with a Brutal Swing. You got that." Princess nodded her head, ready for them to arrive.

"I'll see to you, you little shit." Alice scowled, aware of the cackling that resounded around the waterfall. How well timed. Had the Glalie been watching them especially? Withdrawing a Love Ball, Alice once again released her passionately pink Swinub, who landed in the snow with a snort. He was far more suited to this terrain. "Time to avenge our girl, Maasa! Bury under the snow and catch that Sealeo with your toxic and freeze dry! If that doesn't wreck it, try fissure! Take it out!" She watched as the bright piggy hid itself under the stacks of white, hoping to take its enemy by surprise and avoid the same fate that the Miltank faced. Heart in her throat, Alice waited hopefully for Masaru to emerge when a sense of dread pulled her gaze away. She looked back to see that the Glalie had moved, a Frosslass flying forcibly through the air away from it, and was blindingly mega evolving. The blonde's jaw dropped. "But that shouldn't be possible without a trainer... What the fuck?" Did that mean that the Glalie was owned by someone? But then why were all these ice types working for it? Alice wondered if this was orchestrated by a group, but she could see at least one person had caught a Pokemon, so they must have been wild. Unsure of what to do, she was relieved to see that some trainers were going after the mega and the ghost, and so Alice could - for now - turn her attention to the Sealeo. Although, those Snorunt were practically chattering her name... Focus, though. Later.

"Monte! Good job!" She cheered, giving her Pokemon a big hug. She narrowly missed another trainer's Staryu zipping past her head. After a nervous laugh, she tucked the Vulpix's Pokeball into her backpack. The battle seemed to have died down a bit, and the young girl that had been on the Ponyta's back was safely placed onto one of the sleds. Athena climbed onto the sled as well, returning Monte to his Pokeball to rest. She didn't feel she was much help during the previous battle, but she felt she could be of assistance in getting Primrose to her destination. The sled suddenly came to a halt. Athena gripped the base of her seat to keep from falling. She took a look over the edge of the sled and spotted a crowd of Cubchoo, noses glistening with...was that snot? A bit disgusted, Athena reached into her bag and pulled out another Pokeball. "Palmier, let's go!" She called out her Litwick. He landed on the edge of the sled, flame flickering in the wind. "Use Smog on that crowd of Cubchoo, then go after the big Beartic with Night Shade!" The Ghost Pokemon gave a small giggle, then leapt off the sled into the cluster of bears. |

The Abominable Snowdown A Cloud Garden Winter Campaign Town: Ironthunder, Raves, Patches, morningstar, lilbluecorsola, OkikuMew, Median Dia, CyberBlastoise, Schala, biggggg5, PikaGod, Rotom310 With news of the massive Beartic attack that halted Primrose’s escape to town spreading across the Rose Garden, many of the trainers joined Jet as they set off to rush to her rescue. Meanwhile, a few trainers remained in the garden in order to wrap up unfinished business with the four garden queens to take out the remaining Swinub and Vulpix. ~~~~~~~ As Roserade blasted a group of Swinub with an Energy Ball and Tsareena Trop Kicked a Vulpix, several of the trainers’ Pokemon remained focused on their targets, as their trainers had announced their intentions of adding icy foxes to their teams. Soleil the Eevee remained honed in on her opponent and lunged at it to pin it down with a powerful Take Down. As the Vulpix yelped in pain, Soleil winced as her shoulder became a bit bruised in the process. Not wanting to give the Vulpix a chance to retaliate, the Eevee kept it off balance with a well-timed Quick Attack. Finally able to get an attack in, Vulpix blew another frosty Powder Snow Soleil’s way, and the Eevee’s Baby-Doll Eyes did little to stop the snow. Nonetheless, Mélina and Soleil had worn the fox down quite a bit, and the trainer threw an Ice Ball at it. The ball pulled the Vulpix inside and after shaking once… twice… three times, it stopped with an audible “Ding!” signifying its success. Congratulations, Mélina has captured a lv.10 female Alolan Vulpix! Meanwhile, Hope the Shuppet had her proverbial hands full with her own cluster of opponents. Having singled out one of the Vulpix, the ghost Pokemon slipped into the Shadows and Snuck up behind it, jumping out to strike it from behind. As the Vulpix whipped around, Hope opened her mouth and spewed forth a nasty glob of ectoplasm, the Gunk Shot drenching it entirely in a foul-smelling odor. The Vulpix cried out in disgust, blowing a flurry of Powder Snow at Hope, who shivered and looked to finish her opponent off with a Night Shade. The Vulpix collapsed in the snow, defeated. Not wanting to waste a minute, Liawe hurled a Pokeball at the creature, pulling it inside. The ball shook three times before stopping with a successful “Ding!” Congratulations, Liawe has captured a lv.12 female Alolan Vulpix! Next up, Khione the Sneasel looked to tag in for her confused teammate Belial. As she squared off against Belial’s previous opponent, the Sneasel charged forward to attack. However, she stopped abruptly and clapped her hands together, Faking the Vulpix Out in the process. With the icy fox now stunned, Khione Kicked the Vulpix Low, taking out its feet in the process. As Vulpix lay on the ground, it flashed Khione with its Baby-Doll Eyes, hoping to soften the Sneasel from launching any more attacks. Luckily for it, Khione was done and Eskil quickly threw a Pokeball at it. The ball pulled Vulpix inside and landed in the snow, shaking once, twice, and three times before coming to a halt with a “Ding!” Congratulations, Eskil has captured a lv.12 female Alolan Vulpix! As Patches looked to give Rika a relief, the Espeon was recalled to her ball and was replaced mistakenly by Aya the shiny Furret. Deciding to go with the flow as she always does, Patches ordered for Aya to continue Rika’s battle. Aya complied and began Coiling up her long body, tightening her muscles as well as her focus as she waited for Vulpix to strike. Vulpix obliged by firing off a rapid Ice Shard that ricocheted off of the Furret’s furry body. Aya pounced and clocked the Vulpix with a Fiery Punch, knocking it back. Patches quickly chucked a Pokeball at it, pulling the Vulpix inside. The ball landed on the ground and shook once… twice… and three times before stopping with a successful “Ding!” Congratulations, Patches has captured a lv.15 male Alolan Vulpix! With most of the Vulpix taken care of, Hotstuff set his sights on the mob of remaining Pokemon, mostly Swinub. The young Charmander looked to unleash hell and heat up the frozen garden in the process, blowing a powerful Heat Wave across the area. Aya the Furret chipped in, knocking out a straggler with a Shadow Ball before Hotstuff released a second Heat Wave. As several of the Swinub succumbed to the heat, Hotstuff began to breathe heavier and heavier, having expended a large amount of energy to this point. As a pair of Swinub launched a last resort Mud Bomb his direction, Hotstuff finished them off with a third Heat Wave before succumbing to his own exhaustion, passing out in the dirt as the snow melted all around him. Thanks to Hotstuff’s efforts, much of the snow had melted off of the plants in the Rose Garden. The four flower queens were picking off the remaining swine and vulpine left and right and gave them a thankful cheer. As they motioned to indicate that they could handle things from here, the second sleigh had arrived to pick up the trainers and take them to another battlefield, where Beartic and its army of Cubchoo looked ready to strike. ~~~~~~~ As the Cubchoo surrounded the carriage that contained Primrose and Poppy, the Beartic growled menacingly and watched from afar. As a couple of trainers stepped out of the carriage to hold off the bears and protect Primrose, the other carriage with reinforcements from the Rose Garden quickly arrived with Jet as well. Jet called upon the services of his Skarmory once again, as it soared overhead. The trainers followed suit, sending out their Pokemon to make a stand as well. Looking to defend the carriages, Attila the Larvitar showered the area in Stealth Rocks to act as a natural deterrent to the polar bear cubs. She then waited for Alex to scan the mob with his Pokedex, and after he found a male Cubchoo and pointed it out to her, Attila blasted it with a Dark Pulse. As she charged forward, the Cubchoo blasted her with an Icy Wind, chilling her quite a bit and slowing her down in the process. Attila connected with her target regardless, knocking it back with an effective Iron Head. Meanwhile, Jess was joined by her shiny Houndour Sheik, who Howled loudly to announce her arrival. She then Leered at the Cubchoo, trying to intimidate them while Princess the Stufful flashed her Baby-Doll Eyes at the Cubchoo before following it up with a Leer of her own. Some of the Cubchoo Growled in response while a couple others urged the Houndour and Stufful to Play Nice in an attempt to lower their guard. As the Cubchoo continued their advance, Sheik held them off with a flurry of Embers to keep them at bay. Singling one of the Cubchoo out, Princess went up to it and smacked it with a Brutal Swing for solid damage as it began Biding its time. Not to be left out of the action, Beartic let out a bellowing Roar and began making its way towards the carriage. The plucky Silver stood bravely in its way, jumping up to slap it back with a Tail Whip. Jet’s Skarmory lent its assistance with a Steel Wing to keep it off balance, and Silver was able to follow it up with a hard-hitting Tackle to the chest. Beartic roared angrily and grabbed the Squirtle by the shell and Slashed at Silver before throwing him down hard in the snow. Beartic then began to glow an icy blue as it summoned a pillar of snow and ice that hit Jet’s Skarmory like an Avalanche, knocking it out of the sky. Silver and Skarmory both lay on the ground, defeated. As the battlefield descended into chaos, Palmier the Litwick sat there confidently, ready to add to the disorder. He blew a hazy Smog across the area in the direction of a crowd of Cubchoo. Unfortunately, an Icy Wind blew from one of the cubs, dispelling the fog rather quickly. One of the Cubchoo began coughing however, as toxins had filled its lungs. Turning his attention to the Beartic, Palmier struck it with a mild Night Shade as it finished taking down Silver and Skarmory. If Palmier wanted Beartic’s attention, he sure had it now, as Beartic growled and darted forward and rammed the Litwick hard with a powerful Aqua Jet. ~~~~~~~ With the trainers providing enough cover, the carriage containing Primrose and Poppy was able to position itself free of the pillar of ice. “We must get the young Miss back to town quickly!” Poppy called out. “Once she is safe, we’ll send reinforcements!” As the Mudsdale took off for town, reinforcements were most certainly going to be needed. The Beartic roared again and began following the carriage as it resumed its advancement towards the town. “We can’t let that Beartic reach town!” Jet exclaimed as he returned Skarmory back to its Pokeball. “Stop it, Staraptor!” Jet quickly tossed another Pokeball, revealing a Staraptor who cawed and swooped into the air. As the carriage containing Poppy and Primrose finally arrived in town, Poppy quickly got out and helped Primrose get to her feet. As he looked around, the main street in town was eerily quiet. “Is anyone there? We need a doctor!” Poppy exclaimed but to no answer. Carrying Primrose on his tired old back, Poppy made his way down the street towards the town square. There he found a number of villagers lying everywhere, fast asleep. “That’s not good…” As Poppy continued to look around, he heard some rustling from one of the storefronts. The glass window had been broken in, and as he watched, a Smoochum crawled out of it, wearing some stolen jewelry. A few other Smoochum appeared from a bakery, having filled their bellies with food. “Smoo?” one of them cooed as even more Smoochum appeared from an alley. “The town has been overrun too!” Poppy exclaimed into the walkie-talkie as the Smoochum began to Sing. “Send… help…” Poppy yawned as he collapsed with Primrose on his back, both of them falling fast asleep. Things were looking bad for Galea Town as the Beartic marched towards it, and no one awake to defend it. As the carriage brought the remaining trainers from the Rose Garden to join up with the others battling the Cubchoo and Beartic, Jet informed them of the new development and presented yet another decision they had to make. The trainers could either stay here and continue battling the bears, especially the Beartic who meant serious business, or take the remaining carriage to town and hope to wake up the villagers and get help. Once again, you are presented with a choice. You may either stay and battle the Cubchoo and Beartic or rush to town to chase out the Smoochum and wake up the villagers. Transportation will still be available even if you choose to stay behind. Reminder, don’t wait too long to attempt to capture a Pokemon you are interested in!

The Abominable Snowdown A Cloud Garden Winter Campaign Waterfall - Maskerade, Ex-Admiral Insane, Missingo. Master, GeminiSpark, Naruxami, 134, TheKnightsFury, Sandaa, Meetan, Lil'twick, myahoo Mega Glalie, its mouth hanging wide open, let out a deafening roar. The menacing Ice type now was at ground level, levitating only slightly. There was an almost crazy look in its eyes, and it began gnashing its teeth furiously. Several trainers went after the new target almost immediately. The first being Keith, sending Kyle the Heatmor to deliver a Sucker Punch before Glalie could make its first move. The Heatmor’s fist collided with Glalie’s large jaw. While Glalie reeled, Kyle called up several Will-O-Wisps only to have them fizzle out almost immediately. The intense cold emanating from Mega Glalie had some effect on the Fire type move. Keith’s Heatmor flicked its fiery tongue and Fire Lashed his opponent. Glalie let out a low, menacing laugh as Kyle’s froze before it could retreat into his mouth. Guntz the Snorlax arrived at the Heatmor’s side for back up. It opened its mouth wide to Yawn, coaxing Mega Glalie to do the same. Though the Pokemon’s Mega form changed the function of its mouth, it looked a bit calmer and susceptible to sleepiness. Isaac’s Incineroar Morgana Roared at the Sandshrew surrounding him before leaping into the battle with Glalie. With Fiery Fangs, he clamped down on Mega Glalie’s icy horn. When the Incineroar made contact with Glalie, the fire had all but disappeared, making the attack more of a regular Bite. Glalie forced the Incineroar off by Headbutting into the wall, sending Morgana to the ground and knocking him unconscious. An avalanche of snow fell onto Isaac’s Pokemon, trapping the Fire type. While his Pokemon fought, Isaac took the opportunity to toss a Great Ball at a curled-up Sandshrew that had been isolated due to Morgana’s Roar. The ball landed on the igloo-shaped Pokemon and it was sucked into the device. It wiggled back and forth a few times as the Sandshrew struggled, but the ball let out a satisfying click. Congratulations! Isaac has caught a Lv. 13 Male Alolan Sandshrew! Froslass, though severely weakened by the Clefable’s attack, continued to try and protect Glalie. She blew an Ominous Wind, striking Kyle but going right through the Normal-type Guntz. Guntz brought a slide of rocks onto Froslass, causing her to flinch. Rorik’s Snorlax took a deep breath in, and attempted to blow a Flamethrower over the Ice and Ghost type Pokemon. With the effects of Mega Glalie, it turned out looking more like a small Ember. While Guntz was shocked at the ineffectiveness of his move, Froslass struck him across the face with Wake-Up Slap. In the remaining group of Sandshrew, Wildfire sent out a Heat Wave. Glalie’s frozen influence seemed to reach the entire battlefield, and the fire attack only reached a few Sandshrew before disappearing. Wildfire continued to attack by curling up and using Rollout through the group as if they were bowling pins. As he got to the end of the group, he was suddenly stopped by a large boulder that had been loosed by Mega Glalie. While Wildfire was dazed, surrounding Alolan Sandshrew began to pile Powder Snow on the Cyndaquil, not allowing it to move before it was knocked out. After a successful Baton Pass, Silas bounded across the ice while devising a Nasty Plot to boost his stats. The Houndoom arrived at the defensive Sandslash and blew out a Flamethrower. In the intense cold, the attack did not do as much as he hoped. The Sandslash uncurled itself and hissed angrily at Silas. It used both hands to unleash Fury Swipes, striking the Houndoom four times. Silas endured the hit, looking for an opening to hit the Sandslash with Incinerate. The flames that spit from his mouth did little damage again, and the Sandslash seemed proud of its icy powers, not realizing that it was actually Glalie’s strength helping it out. Icicles called forth by Sandslash Crashed around the Houndoom, creating a cage around Hyrem’s Pokemon. Using the horns on his head, he tried ramming against the barrier, but it was rather solid and would take much more force. Shocked and angered by her Miltank being knocked out, Alice sent out her Swinub,Maasa, to take over and enact some revenge. The Ice and Ground type took immediately to burrowing itself, only to reemerge and splash Toxic all over the targeted Sealeo. The poison seeped into its blubbery skin, and it let out an enraged bark. Maasa went after Sealeo again with Freeze Dry, the move super effective against the Water type. Sealeo sprayed Maasa with Brine, the move hitting hard as the Sealeo was severely weakened. The Swinub was thrown back toward its trainer, and took a moment to recover. A group of Spheal began to roll up to Alice and Maasa, all clapping to try and intimidate the trainer and her Pokemon. The Swinub then used its mastery over the ground to open up a Fissure in the ground, which Sealeo and quite a few tumbled into. Also targeting the rookery of Spheal was Gary’s Raphael. The Blastoise ducked into its shell and hit a Spheal with Rapid Spin, sending the small round Pokemon rolling away. Raphael went after it intending to hit it with Rock Smash, but the Spheal began clapping enthusiastically to give the Blastoise an Encore. Flattered, Raphael spun again with more flair, and the Spheal looked to be actually enjoying itself as it was tossed into the air again. Raphael snapped out of it, and struck the Spheal with Aura Sphere. While the Spheal was knocked upside down and struggling to right itself again, Gary tossed his Dive Ball. The round Pokemon was quickly swallowed up, and barely was able to try to break its way out of the ball before it clicked. Congratulations! Gary has caught a Lv. 14 Male Spheal! Lucas meanwhile sent Amabel to continue going after the other Sealeo. She Discharged a large amount of electricity, striking not only Sealeo but several surrounding Spheal. Sealeo retaliated with Body Slam, throwing itself onto Amabel. The Eelektross released more electricity in a Thunder Wave, paralyzing Sealeo. With limited movement, Sealeo did its best to Swagger, raising Amabel’s attack stat as she attacked it again with Zap Cannon. Sealeo, overwhelmed with the super effective attack, went down, but not before smirking slightly as Amabel became overwhelmingly confused from Swagger. In a shining streak of red, Jayson’s Spartacus used Bullet Punch to collide several times with Vanilluxe. Vanilluxe strengthened itself with Acid Armor an increasingly worried look appearing on its face. Spartacus went after the Ice type again with Metal Claw, creating deep scratches across its two faces. One of the faces of Vanilluxe blew Icy Wind, attempting to get the Scizor away from it. Spartacus wavered a bit at the strong rush of air, but was able to deliver the finishing blow of Shadow Break. Vanilluxe fell to the ground, and a group of small Vanillite surrounded it in shock. They all looked up at Spartacus and began to yell in Uproar. The tiny cones surrounded the Scizor and continued to scream and cry, terrified about what to do without the presence of their lead Vanilluxe. Finally arriving to the battle after being rather lost, Austin called forth his Ninetales. Nick thought of a Nasty Plot to pump himself up before running into the battle. The Snorunt he targeted had been enjoying themselves as trainers neglected to target them. They were using Icy Wind to contribute to the continuing hail and wind, and cheering on Glalie and Froslass. They were caught off guard as Nick barreled through them with Flame Charge, which became more of a Quick Attack as the Ninetales’ flames slowly disappeared. The Snorunt’s teeth chattered angrily as they directed their Icy Wind at the Ninetales. Nick tried his best to combat the snow and ice with Flamethrower which ended up only hitting the Snorunt closest to him. The small Ice type ran frantically in circles as the wrap it used around its body caught on fire. After recalling her fallen Clefable, Athena tossed another Pokeball into the air. Her Mawile appeared and landed on the soft snow. “Draw some of the weaker Pokemon our way with Sweet Scent,” She directed her companion. The Mawile released a sweet odor into that floated through the snowy air. Several Spheal, Sandshrew, Snorunt, and Vanillite made their way over to Athena and her Pokemon. They were rather distracted, focused mostly on the Mawile and not any Pokemon or trainers that may want to continue going after them. The Sweet Scent seemed to attract something else, and suddenly large, blue snowflakes began to fall from the sky. As they got closer, trainers realized these angry faced snowflakes were in fact Crygonal! As they floated gently down, they Sharpened themselves and prepared to attack. Please make sure again to use 1 pokemon and up to 3 moves. If you wish to catch a Pokemon, make sure it is properly weakened first before throwing a Pokeball, but doing so does not use up a battle action! |

Silver got in a good hit on the Beartic, but the Pokemon proved to be overwhelming knocking out both Silver and the Skarmory in one fell swoop. One thing is for sure, Silver isn't the same power house that he was when he was a Blastoise. "Crap! Silver, return!" Bill recalled the turtle pokemon to its proper place. His only other options were Trono, a Geodude with no battle experience, Megas, a ground type pokemon which is weak against ice, or Swift, a Finneon which means no mobility options. But it seemed like worse news was to come, a bunch of Smoochum had overrun the town, putting all the townspeople to sleep. It seemed like things were getting from bad to worse. Bill knew the Beartic was in over his head, but the people were spread pretty thin. Still though, the town being overrun is pretty bad too. What's worse is all the reinforcements were in town. Bill decided his best bet would be to go to town on the Smoochum. The townspeople really need the help. As soon as he arrived, he saw some Smoochum wandering around, seeming to going on a spree of ....well it looked like vandalism and petty thieving. Not what Bill expected of Pokemon trying to go to war, but whatever. These things were psychic types, so that meant that he somewhat of an advantage, even though they were also Ice types. He pulled out a pokeball and said, "Megas! Front and center!" "GOLETT!" yelled the excited ground type Pokemon. It was already chasing after the Smoochum in pure adrenline. "Hey Megas, hold up! I still need to give you orders!" Megas showed no sign of slowing down. It was ready to fight. Bill rubbed his head but he decided to go with it. "Okay, fine. Megas, start off with a couple of Mud Slaps follow it up with an Astonish." Megas was already sliding its hand into the ground to prepare for its first assault. Bill on the other hand was heading to any nearby patrons to try and wake them up. There was a terror on the loose, heading this way, and that meant no time to lose. The protectors would need to ready themselves to fight the Beartic, while the civilians would need to retreat and fast if things go as far downhill as Bill expects them to go. |

A sweet scent filled the air as Athena used her Mawile to lure in the smaller Pokemon, however it also drew in some unwanted attention in the form of some Cryogonal. Jayson couldn't help but smile a little, he had hoped the giant snowflakes would show up eventually. He was intent on catching one, but he would need help from his most analytic ally if he was going to be successful in doing so. Jayson withdrew the rest of his Pokemon into their balls, continual exposure to this weather would tire them out. Jayson unclipped a Luxury Ball from his belt and tossed it out in front of himself. Odysseus the Magneton buzzed as he quickly assessed his surroundings. Having taken in as much information as he could, the Magneton turns back to his trainer, eager for orders. "Alright Odysseus let's get to work. Target one of the Cryogonal, with a double shot Magnet Bomb then stick a Flash Cannon right through it!" As the Magneton moved off towards its target, Jayson followed on foot, with a Pokeball in his hand, ready to through it at the Cryogonal as soon as Odysseus struck it with the Flash Cannon. |

"Did Glalie do dat?!" Meowth exclaimed. "I ain't thought an Ice-type could make it cold enough ta make flames fizzle out," Vinny remarked. "Dis could be a problem, hat man." "Yeah, you think- KYLE!" Keith exclaimed suddenly, for after landing a successful Fire Lash, Mega Glalie swiftly froze Kyle's tongue solid before the Heatmor could even pull it back into his mouth! The Heatmor looked shocked at this development, and was hastily trying to reignite his tongue to try and thaw it out. "OK, well, he's a Fire-type, so he's ain't gonna be sweatin' ice too much," Vinny said fairly. "All da same, though, hat man, maybe time ta switch it up, yeah? I'd volunteer myself, but I'm tinkin' my Ground typin' won't do youse no favors, and I ain't got Magma Armor neither." Keith nodded in agreement. He was not normally one to give up so quickly, and indeed, he didn't even really consider this giving up- by no means did he intend to Combusken out of taking on this Mega Glalie. The situation simply called for a different approach than Fire attacks. And more to the point, perhaps a brief rest in his Level Ball would be beneficial to the Heatmor as well. "Kyle, return for now!" Keith said, pointing the Level Ball at the Fire-type, withdrawing Kyle to within its spherical confines. It was then that Keith took a moment to glance around at his surroundings, see what all was going on. Rorik's Snorlax was astonished at how woefully ineffective its Flamethrower had been; some Alolan Sandshrew had ganged up on someone's Cyndaquil, knocking it out in spite of the type disadvantage; Hyrem's Houndoom was trying to force his way out of a cage formed by Icicle Crash; a Swinub (thankfully on their side and not wild) was scoring a number of KOs with a well-executed Fissure attack; Athena had sent out a Mawile, whose Sweet Scent, while drawing some of the weaker Pokémon away from the others, also had the unintended effect of attracting a number of sentient snowflakes- The snowflakes. Keith's mouth fell open as he saw these snowflakes descend upon the fray. "Those are-" he began. "Cryogonal, the Crystallizing Pokémon. An Ice-type," finished Keith's Pokédex. "Born in snow clouds, Cryogonal captures prey with chains made from ice crystals." "Alright, we gotta figure out a different way to go at Glalie," Keith said to his Pokémon. "In the meantime, we may as well help out against these newcomers, and also I just really, really want to catch one," he admitted. "Dis ain't even news ta me-owth," Meowth replied. "Youse been afta one o' dose tings since before we met." "Indeed I have," Keith nodded. He eyed up the Cryogonal, setting his sights on one of them- obviously not the one Jayson's Magneton was already targeting, of course. "Alright. Meowth, I choose you!" Keith declared. "O' course ya does," Meowth groaned, though he didn't hesitate to jump down off of Keith's shoulder. "Now let's go!" declared Keith. "Meowth, use Power-Up Punch, then give it a good dose of Punishment, which should hurt since it used Sharpen, and follow up with Fury Swipes!" As he spoke, Keith drew a red and green Poké Ball out of his backpack, the red half decked out in a charming snowflake pattern- a Christmas Ball, one which Keith had been saving for just such an occasion as this. He'd know when the optimal moment would be to throw it at the Cryogonal, and he was not planning to squander said moment when it would arrive. |

"Mona?!" Isaac called out, suddenly filled with dread for his Incineroar. He wished he would've been a better trainer, he should have been paying full attention to the cat, not focused on catching the Sandshrew. He could feel his heart rate speeding up, he couldn't lose another Pokemon --- he absolutely could not be responsible for another death. He hurriedly reached into his bag, fumbling around for a second. Kyle had always warned him about his anxiety, his high stress was probably the reason he had grown so reliant on drugs. It made him calm, made him feel at peace. But not right now, right now was one of the few times he had ever actually craved feeling that needle in his arm, he missed the release. He could feel his heart beating out of his chest, his face growing hot despite the brisk air billowing on his face. He huffed, he swore he could feel the tears forming already. Isaac was on the ground, in the snow. He tore up bits of the snow, his bare fists clenched in it. Full blown panic had encompassed him, nothing else mattered at this point. Everything else around him was just mismatched shapes, nothing meaningful --- nothing he could grasp onto. He barely even felt Vander grasp his shoulder with his clawed hand, trying to ground him back into reality. He helped his trainer back onto his feet, seeing his mess face. He gave him a firm slap, square across the jawline. Isaac held his hand to his face, staring down at the Pokemon who was a solid foot shorter than him. Vander had a smug look on his face, Morgana was his best friend --- it was obvious that he was also nervous but he was handling it far better. Isaac shook his head, he gave an apologetic glance at the mongoose, who simply shrugged. It wasn't the first time Vander had seen his trainer have a panic attack, and he was sure it wouldn't be the last. "Thanks.." Murmured Isaac. It was an unorthodox way to snap him out of it, but, it worked. He rubbed his sore jaw, glancing around. "God you know, you hit fucking hard when you want to." He shook his head, his jaw was throbbing at this point. He was happy it was cold, or it might actually be worse. "You're going to have to explain to Vinny why my jaw is bruised when we get back." He glared at the Zangoose, who was grinning from ear to ear. "God, you're kind of an asshole." Remarked Isaac light heartedly, causing Vanderlyle to chuckle to himself. Isaac smiled, which only really made his jaw hurt more. "Okay, plan time. This battle sucks, you know like what? Zero fire moves?" Vander nodded sheepishly, it was obvious that he was quite uncomfortable here himself. He was nothing here compared to Morgana, and he was MIA right now. "Right. Okay. Um. Shit." Isaac's lisp barreled out of his lips, causing a smirk to emit from Vander. "Okay, plan B. We... uh. Find Morgana, and then we uh. Resuscitate him?" Vander nodded rapidly. However, they began to spot the various snowflakes plummeting down towards them. "Are those... Pokemon..?" Asked Isaac, looking nervous as they fell towards them. "Oh. Oh god. This is really bad." Murmured Isaac, looking down at Vander. Vander gave a nervous chuckle, looking up at one of the snowflakes and giving a hearty Leer. He doubted he could take it on alone, but there was no one nearby to group up with. Isaac looked around, trying to spot where Morgana could've ended up. This was shaping up to be an awful choice. He could've stayed with the town, but now he had lost a 5 foot tall cat... and his gloves. ((Claiming my baby boyo. Declaring his ability to be Slush Rush))

However, much to his dismay, Rorik had to watch as, upon the arrival of a horde of Cryogonal, Keith shifted his Pokemon and his attention to meet the new threat, while Isaac was forced to do the same once Morgana was violently knocked out and buried in a tomb of snow. And as such, there was nobody left to fight Glalie. We should help Isaac look for his Incineroar. But if we do, if we leave Glalie and Froslass to roam free, the casualties will only grow in number! We... we can't afford that. I'm sorry Isaac, please understand... Guntz held his ground bravely, even in the face of a Mega Pokemon and its persistent phantom ally. But even so, there was no denying the fact that he was now completely alone in the endeavour - and if Morgana's and Clefable's fates were anything to go by, Guntz could end up severely injured - or worse - if he insisted on keeping up the fight. "Guntz, we can't do this alone, retur..." Immediately, as if he'd anticipated the order to pull back, the Snorlax shook his head. He had a point to prove, and a weapon that Rorik was forgetting - one that was best used when nobody else was around to get hurt. The glimmer of a green crystal on his wrist, resonating with Guntz's will, reminded Rorik of what he'd been neglecting. They had something that could measure up to Glalie's Mega Evolution in power, an attack that could - if they were lucky - catch both Glalie and Froslass at once. And now that everyone else had stepped away from the battle, this was the perfect time to use it! That's right... our reward from the War of the Roses... It was worth a shot. At such a colossal disadvantage, it was pretty much the only shot they had. Taking in a deep breath, Rorik clenched his fist... and finally made up his mind. "Okay Guntz, we're doing it. Make Froslass pay for getting up close: push her back with an Iron Head, then..." He spread his arms, then began the dance. Guntz grinned in response. "... let's show them the heart of Cloud Garden! The power to protect this domain, bestowed upon us by Lilligant, Winner of the War of the Roses and the Garden's rightful ruler! Guntz... Bloom Doom!!" Hopefully, the blast radius would catch both foes and make it easier for the cavalry to keep up the fight when it arrived. And the cavalry better come soon, for their sake... "Please Guntz, whatever happens then, pull back afterwards and heal up with a Softboiled egg. Try to move out of harm's way..." This has to work. Otherwise, who knows what they'll do to him!...

Liawe quickly recalled Hope once the fields cleared somewhat, collecting her new friend as she scampered to the sleigh with excitement. She'd finally caught something! And bested it in combat nonetheless! Although she was getting more and more concerned about Hope and these psychotic spells of hers. Part of the reason she'd recalled her so quickly was because she wasn't sure if Hope's rampage would have continued on and inflicted friendly fire... But that mattered little as she cradled the newly-caught Pokemon's Pokeball in her arms. Winter. I'll call her Winter. Jolted from her pensive moments by the cart stopping at the town, she saw that immediately help was required here. People passed out everywhere, with Smoochum running riot. She didn't want to have to send Hope out again, the Shuppet needed to rest for a while and regain energy, but Caeda was still battered from the Weavile... As she debated on who to use, the decision made itself in the form of the bunny-ear-wearing Caterpie lunging from her bag and sinking a Bug Bite into the nearest Smoochum, gnawing at the diminutive Psychic type over and over again. Liawe was stunned by this action. Mainly because she wasn't aware Calem had come with her, she thought he was back with Kaitlyn and the others. But the Bug type had come, and now he was coming through with a vengeance. Caterpie were small, but this one was different. He had bunny ears, and a license to use them. ...Did he get that license? (In case it's not clear, I'm ordering Bug Bite x3, but couldn't find a decent way to RP it clearly. Sorry!) (Also claiming my little Alolapix, calling her Winter and making her ability Snow Cloak.)

Two trainers were successful in removing Pokemon off the battlefield by means of capture: the one with the Incineroar was finally able to bring the Alolan Sandshrew down enough so he could capture it, although when the Heel Pokemon tried to engage the Mega Glalie he got himself shook off before being buried in an Avalanche, the trainer frantically looking for his beloved Pokemon in the snow. Gary was the other trainer to snag a Pokemon in this fight, a Spheal, and he did it using a certain blue-skinned turtle with what looked like cannons sticking out of his shell. "Oh hey, it's Raphael!" admired Hyrem as his Pokedex gave him more details about the Water-type Pokemon: Blastoise, the Shellfish Pokemon, and the final evolution of Squirtle. Despite its classification, Blastoise is a large turtle that received it after it was observed eating shellfish. However, it may eat anything small enough that wanders too close to it, either pinning its prey under its hard shell until it is too exhausted to escape or overwhelming it with two powerful cannons that can expel water at a force that can pierce through tough metals. These cannons make it a valuable Pokemon for coast guards, who commonly use Blastoise to breach pirate ship hulls, and their accuracy, reported to be able to shoot targets at the center from long distances, allows them to pinpoint and target any weakness in structure. "Nice, it's good that Gary got something for his troubles, and a Spheal at that!" he observed, making a mental note to pay another visit to his friend's new base whenever it was finished. Unfortunately, the weakening of Fire attacks was being felt all over the place as the Cyndaquil was finally overwhelmed by the Alolan Sandshrew after his firepower was cut short, Keith's Heatran struggled with a frozen tongue, and a new arrival and his Ninetales had trouble making a dent in the Snorunt. Worse still, it seemed the reinforcements of Ice Pokemon were unending as multiple Cryogonal took to the field, and Hyrem knew just how difficult they were to tame, seeing as the one he hatched early on in his career was simply unruly, and it took Brittany evolving into a Sealeo to bring down another one. It wasn't all an impending doom, however, as the Snorlax made the Mega Glalie drowsy while also dealing lots of damage to the Froslass beside him, while a meekly Swinub revealed the powerhouse inside as he proved more than a match for a Sealeo and many of the Spheal, his Fissure proving very crippling to the enemy forces. The Eelektross was able to finish off the other Sealeo but not before the Sealeo's Swagger confused her, meaning she would need to be given a wide berth in order to avoid any devastating friendly fire she might lay out. As far as Athena was concerned, she may not be able to use her Clefable for the rest of the battle, but her Mawile would be powerful in her own right as her Sweet Scent lured in a large amount of the smaller Pokemon. Finally, the Scizor was able to use its type advantage, as well as a sinister Shadow Break, to bring down the other Vanilluxe, while the Vanillite all gathered up for their fallen leader and sounded out in Uproar against the Scizor; incidentally, if the Mega Glalie was too close to the Vanillite, Snorlax's Yawn from earlier would be undone, continuing to make the fight that much more dangerous. Still, as Hyrem looked back at his trapped Houndoom, he knew that this fight wasn't lost yet; Ice Pokemon had more than one weakness, after all. "Silas, break out of your prison with Rock Smash! Then spit a Gummi Bomb at the Sandslash before getting your teammates involved with your special attack, Beat Up! If Sandslash goes down before you're finished attacking, find a Bergmite and use your remaining attacks on it instead!" He then looked to Happy and Kenna. "You two, be ready for Silas to call on you when he needs you for his attack!" Both the Flareon and Rapidash nodded, taking their own battle stances. "And me?" Tsurara whispered in his ear. "In case you haven't noticed, with your little pony about to step in the fray for even one moment, you need someone to keep you warm. How aboooooout~" "Tsurara, no offense, but you're the last Pokemon I'd ask to keep me 'warm'. How about you join the others on Silas's cue?" "Fine, I suppose that's fair considering I have been asking to...contribute, in some manner anyway. Ironic, though, that I am about to take orders from a dog, but perhaps I shall...gain something out of it." And with that, the "friendly" Froslass took her place alongside Happy and Kenna, the two Fire-types exchanging glances in general distrust of her but hoping she will do her job nonetheless. Hyrem was still wishing he had brought gloves.

The great concern however was the lack of action against the Beartic. The Stufful and a cobalt canine went against the Cubchoo, while a tired Squirtle and Jet's Skarmory assaulted the big bear, but were ultimately struck down by a brutal avalanche, while someone's Litwick let loose their own night shade and earned a swift aqua jet for their troubles. And then things escalated as the carriage with Primrose and Poppy continued to town, only for the news that it too had been overrun by Smoochum, and the angry Beartic began to pursue the carriage. If that thing gets to town, it'll rip the civilians apart... "Attila! Crunch down onto that Cubchoo and throw your weight onto its back and shake until it yields!" he barked, all while reaching his gauntlet arm into his bag and digging for a ball, white as the snow around him (1 of 2). He would wait until the Cubchoo gave in or threw her off, then planned to lob the ball, known for efficiency on ice pokemon, at the Cubchoo to permanently remove it from the battle. "When I give the word, get off and help Jet out by screeching at the Beartic, then slam it in the backside with an iron head to hopefully knock it off balance for a harder attack! Be prepared though, this one's not going to be easy!" The Larvitar's stoic expression remained, as she took things much more seriously. At the same time, it occurred to Alex that Isaac was still in the carriage, keeping Primrose warm, and had likely got caught up in the Smoochum invasion, likely snoozing. He made a note to aid in the pursuit of the Beartic, as bringing it down was an absolute priority. Indeed, such was the threat it posed that he had contingency plans for the occasion...though praying he wouldn't have to show his ace here off the bat. Only if things got bad... |

“That was an incredible job, Soleil!” She cheered. “Your attacks were on point!” The Evolution Pokémon mewed in delight, but sounded a bit tiresome, like a sight of relief that the battle was over. She nuzzled her new teammate’s Ice Ball, perhaps as a congratulations for either joining her trainer's team or for a battle well fought. Maybe both. “Oof, you definitely need some rest though,” the Kalosian took Soleil’s Pokéball out. “I’ll likely call for your help again, but definitely not now. Hope it's nice and warm in there!” After Soleil called a quick goodbye as she is flashed back into her ball, Mélina realized that the situation here was pretty much stabilised thanks to the garden’s Pokémon. She took it as her cue to jump in the sleigh and join up with the others who are holding up by bear Pokémon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As soon as Mélina arrived on the scene though, she noticed that the young girl's carriage was not present, and yet another message is heard on Jet’s intercom: the good news is she reached the town, but the bad news was it was now overrun with Smoochum! Definitely taking priority of making sure the girl AND the townsfolk was safe, the woman buckled up for another ride, this time to the town. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “I know of the term ‘sleepy town’, but that’s taking it a little bit too far and literal,” Mélina stated as she observed the state of the small municipality. Before she wanted to do anything though, she wanted to evaluate the situation and her options. Everyone present was more on the attack against those Kiss Pokémon, the citizens, including the old man and the girl were all knocked out cold (so to speak) by the singing… wait, singing? Music? Something clicked in the Kalos native’s mind. She remembered one thing, something in her gigantic collection of random, “just in case” things in her backpack, that would be the best help ever in this very situation. But first, she needed a bit of help of her own. “Lune, I need you again!” she let out the energetic Eevee once again, quickly frolicking in the snow without a care in the world. “It’s no time to play games, girl!” the trainer got the Pokémon’s attention. “You’ll need to defend me here, because I’m gonna be going around town doing something those Smoochum aren’t going to be happy with... just try to distract them away from me with your Baby-Doll Eyes and get 'em with a Bite if they get too close, ok?” “-Veeeee!” Lune happily obliged, more than happy to protect her human friend. “Alright! Hang in tight...” Mélina then pulled out of her bag a rare, wake-inducing Blue Flute, one she received by pure luck, and practiced playing on occasions (except during night time, for obvious reasons). After tidying back up her backpack and put the musical instrument on her lips, she looked over Lune one more time, before she went to town and tried to wake up everyone sleeping, especially those in need like that man and girl carried by him. “Ready? One, two, three, MARCH!” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Claiming my Lv.10 Vulpix~ Last edited by OkikuMew; 12-16-2017 at 06:39 PM. |

As Pokemon continued to battle against the Mega Glalie, some giant snowflake shaped Pokemon descended into the area. “Man, these enemies just keep coming!” Gary exclaimed as he quickly scanned the Cryogonal’s data on his Pokedex. His focus turned back to the Glalie and Froslass, who seemed to be formidable opponents even without the legion of ice types around them. “Alright Raph, enough messing around for us. It’s time we get serious!” Happy to hear his trainer’s words, Raphael stood up straight and smirked confidently. The Blastoise reached up to his left shoulder cannon and pulled a red scarf that had been tied to it off and re-tied it around his eyes, lining up the eye holes like a mask. He might have graduated from being a Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtle, but the mask still gave him confidence. “Blassst!” he yelled, ready to go. Gary grinned as he watched his Pokemon. “You got it, Raph! Let’s hit that Glalie with everything we’ve got! Keep your distance and snipe it from afar; Aura Sphere first to get its attention and then blast it with a Flash Cannon! Depending on how it decides to react, finish things off with either a Counter or a Mirror Coat!” Raphael quickly nodded and got down on all fours as he dug his feet into the ice with his claw-like toes, preparing his tank-like body to brace for the incoming recoil his cannons were about to create.

Of course, that was when things nosedived. Wildfire was just about to start on his way back when he ran head first into a boulder, yelping and uncurling at the abrupt stop. The Sandshrew leaped on the opportunity and piled Powder Snow onto him, knocking him out before Melissa had a chance to return him. "Dammit!" she snapped, when she managed to call him back, too late to prevent him from fainting. She huffed. "Guess that Potion wasn't enough, huh?" She sighed. "Sorry 'bout that. Seems like every time we get into a battle, I overestimate our abilities." Hooking her starter's Pokéball back onto her belt, she glanced around at her fellow trainers to get an idea of how things were going. Their guide had called out a Mawile and used Sweet Scent to attract more of the lower-leveled Pokémon over to them, probably so the rest of them could focus on the Glalie and Froslass, but the Scent also attracted something else. Giant blue snowflakes drifted purposefully down over the group and Melissa frowned. This was getting...she almost wanted to say ridiculous, but it was getting worryingly dangerous, even with trainers like Keith and Alice in the group. Still, she'd chosen to come here, so she had to see this through. Unhooking Mar's Pokéball, she sent the Aron out into the snow. "Mar, we've got a bit of a situation, as you can see," she said as soon as he materialized and shook some snow off. "Wildfire's already gone down--Fire attacks aren't doing much now that the Mega Glalie's like right there, so I'm hoping a different type advantage will work better." Her Aron took a look at the situation and stomped one small foot, snorting confidently. Of course he could handle this. "...there's Spheal here, though we're obviously gonna try not to go up against them," Melissa pointed out. "But I think our guide's distracting all the lower-leveled Pokémon. We're gonna go for the Glalie and Froslass, since they're probably the source of all this." She indicated the blizzard. "So, here's what we're gonna do. Set up an Iron Defense, then hit them with Ancientpower and Rock Slide." Mar nodded once and turned to the Mega Glalie, sizing it up.

The latter situation needs to be dealt with first, Eskil decides, even as he gentles the deathgrip he had on Nyx’s fur (Bless her for putting up with his insanity. That had to have at least been uncomfortable, if not outright painful.) Khione marches up to the pair, waving her claws about and working herself into a frenzy. “WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!” She shouts, (“A Pokeball.” Nyx deadpans in his ear. It takes all of his willpower to not laugh, giddy with relief at having control again and at her continued companionship). “YOU DROPPED ME INTO THE MIDDLE OF A WARZONE!” Khione misses Nyx’s snarky commentary, at least. Still, Eskil tries to defuse Khione before she gets any more worked up (Hopefully before he gets a Pokeball chucked at his head. Neither him, nor the Pokemon inside, would enjoy that). “Sorry, Khione. Belial needed a break and I needed help to finish the fight.” He raises his hands placatingly. (And if he watches the Pokeball a little more closely for a chance to take it back, well, he already has enough of a headache. Not need to add blunt force trauma to the mix.) “That’s an awful excuse, you have other Pokemon. Hells, Nyx is sitting right there!” Khione would be a bit more intimidating if she wasn’t glancing over her shoulder to make sure someone wasn’t sneaking up on her every once in awhile, bit Eskil wasn’t going to tell her that. At least she wasn’t shouting anymore. “Yes, but you had a way to end it quickly.” Eskil isn’t above flattery at this point. And miraculously, it works. “....Fine, but don’t drop me into this without warning again.” She grudgingly offers him the Pokeball, which Eskil eagerly takes (he tells himself it is because she has one less weapon, and not from some lingering compulsion). “What did I miss, Nyx?” He asks. Eskil had been only vaguely aware of things happening around them, after all. “Beartic attacking the carriages and something that put the town to sleep.” She replies. They didn’t have much to help with status effects. Which left fighting off an angry bear. Eskil gives Khione a speculative look. “Oh no, I am not dealing with anything else!” She growls out him, bristling. “Are you sure you don’t want to punch a few bears?” He asks, as he heads for the nearest carriage. “Absolutely not!” The Sneasel cries as she trails after him, but she boards the carriage anyway. Despite her vocal protests, Eskil is confident she would fight. He might have to pry her off the carriage and throw her at the opponent first, but Khione would at least defend herself. They catch up to the rampaging Beartic, heading towards the currently unprepared town. One on one they probably don’t stand a chance, but doing nothing wasn’t an option. “We have to at least delay it!” Eskil directed at Khione. “Chase it down with Pursuit, and then trip it up with a Low Kick! Finally, hit it with a Power-Up Punch!” The Sneasel grips at the edge of the carriage for a long moment, but just as Eskil thinks he might have to literally toss her into battle, she jumps off, eyes wild and grimly heads into battle.
