A wide goofy grin awaits the Raiders as they converge, the noxious chemicals splashing on the surrounding foliage instantly eating away at their greenery. It is clear that any further intrusion would constitute a true ecological disaster, but the eyes of Grimer seem more set upon the small Leaders output, determined to satisfy its impeding hunger with the waste associated with civilisation. With a squelching, bellowing roar it begins its advance, resolved to blow away the pesky Raiders assembled to beat back his advance.

Ditto smirks, using its innate abilities to abruptly grow in size, becoming an exact duplicate of the impressed Steelix grinning on and observing the show. Dracozolt pays little attention, charging forwards and slamming his tail into Grimer, reducing the offensive potency of the sludge beast. Stonjourner follows suit, launching a well formed tomb of rocks at his foe, and with a roar Steelix smashes the ground apart, sending a hail of debris rattling into the gelatinous body of Grimer. Frowning intensely now, the advancing Poison type decides to take another approach, dealing with those impeding him first. Raising an arm, he swamps Dracozolt with a rain of sludge, before turning on Stonjourner and dousing their toughened exterior with raging flames. A lucky escape for now, but how long will that luck last?

Stonjourner continues to plug away, smashing yet another well formed Rock Tomb into the viscous body of Grimer. Steelix decides for a little more of a nuanced approach, summoning a gritty Sandstorm to engulf the clearing - this doesn't seem to perturb Ditto much in their transformed state, the metallic snake taking the chance to summon a whirling Sand Tomb beneath Grimer. Dracozolt, a little miffed by the sudden grating sting on his hide, nonetheless pushes ahead, cracking Grimer with a stunning Thunderbolt. While failing to retaliate in the style they may have preferred, Grimer manages to leave two Raiders hanging on - Dracozolt struck with yet another Max Ooze, while Ditto is left to rue their cheekiness, roasted alive by a Fire Blast.

Stonjourner is suddenly flooded with Dynamax energy, the angry violet miasma magnifying their size to colossal heights. With a grunt of amusement, the towering blocks summon a thickened slab of earth which crushes the malformed Grimer, a dull whine of pain emanating from benath the rubble. Scrambling to follow suit, Dracozolt smashes the remaining barriers protecting the slimy interloper, paving the way for both Steelix to ram hard with Gyro Balls. Unfortunately, retribution is swift. The grain Sandstorm is swiftly eliminated by a Max Flare which roasts Dracozolt alive despite their scaly resistance, and the following baleful Snarl which rips through the remaining Raiders fells the transformed Ditto.

As cheers ring out, Stonjourner brings Grimer low, a tumbling Max Rockfall shearing through the remaining screens protecting the putrid beast, Frowning, Grimer can do little but weather the storm as Steelix comes in once more with a wildly rotating Gyro Ball - but the dismay of Grimer is soon soothed. A Max Quake rips through the terrain to engulf Steelix, before another coy mocking Snarl puts an end to the metallic snake.

A single cheer pierces the air as the Raiders prepare for what they believe will be the final push. Stonjourner brings an enlarged fist of energy crashing down, the Max Knuckle proving enough to leave Grimer wide open. With an empowered stride, Dracozolt rushes forwards with reckless abandon... but the Wild Charge proves enough, putting an end to the onslaught. With a gurgling whimper, Grimer shrinks back to normal size and retreats as quickly as they can, a soured look on their face as they fume over their ruined meal.

For their efforts in deterring the advance of Grimer, the Raiders are awarded the following;
